The article focuses on the design of the Triality concept vessel which complies with environmental regulations in the U.S. The innovative ideas incorporated in its design are mentioned including the hull and cargo tank arrangement which allows for a ballast-water free ship, the liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel, and the low-temperature LNG which eliminates volatilew organic compound (VOC) releases. The scalability of the concept is examined.

The article discusses the types and uses of liquefied natural gas (LNG) containment systems. Three containment systems with different models are being used which include the membranes, IMO type B and IMO type C. overview of the advantages, limitations and safety standards of each type is also presented. The three kinds of membrane tanks such as STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. (No 96), the Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (Mark III), and the Chantiers de l'Atlantique (CSI) are also discussed.

Information on several topics discussed at the luncheon seminar of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) Texas Section held on November 11, 2008 is presented. The seminar features Dr. Isaias Q. Masetti, who presented the hull design MONOBR as a technical feasible solution for a permanent production system. Moreover, it also presents the MONOBR's design premises and design development, putting more emphasis on its excellent hydrodynamic behavior.

The article focuses on the annual Shrimp Boil by the Texas Section of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME), held at Lake Conroe, Texas. The event was attended by people of all ages, including university students, and featured Texas shrimp, chicken fingers, ice cream, and other food. A lucky draw was held, wherein a student won the prize of attending the SNAME Annual Meeting & Expo 2008 to be held at the Hilton Americas Hotel.
