Brazilian Province ,reef fish ,conservation ,seamounts ,oceanic islands ,Biodiversity ,biogeography - Abstract
Oceanic islands and seamounts play an important role on the origin and maintenance of biodiversity, however, these environments are still poorly understood. Here we report 15 new records of reef fish species for the Davis Seamount, Trindade Island and Martin Vaz Archipelago, in the Vitoria-Trindade Chain (VTC). Such isolated sites are among the last frontier for shallow reef exploration in the South Atlantic, and more scientific effort is needed to better understand their biogeography and to help in conservation efforts.

The situations referred to relate to the so-called Cleaning Operation. The action took place in the independent government that tried to remove from Mozambican society those who fell into the categories of unemployed, healers, régulos, Jehovah's Witnesses, women, prostitutes, people who could practice the vices of the colonial period or needed "re-education" to enter the new time in Mozambique. The operation known as "cleaning" or "Operation production" was a practice and a difficult moment in the recent Republic of Mozambique, which created the so-called reeducation fields, where people were sent out of society and banished to this state-projected space. The fictional work of Mozambicans, João Paulo Borges Coelho, Campo de Trânsito (2007) and Between Silent Memories (2013), by Ungulani Ba Ka Khosa, are representations that allow investigating the modus operandus in Mozambican society, from what the postcolonial government called Operation Cleaning and Operation Production. The thesis is based on the Postcolonial Theory and some slopes derived from it, investigate in the fiction of Borges Coelho and Ba Ka Khosa, as it was given the representation of the events mentioned such operation and from review and bibliographical survey, research in newspapers of the time and reports of survivors. The cleaning operation in Mozambique was a breakup of this society and that these camps not only faced Mozambique as a decolonizing nation, but also the civil rights of hundreds of Mozambicans who had their lives interrupted, abducted and violated. The questions that pervade the Postcolonial and the newly liberated nations, whose liberation and freedom do not reach all, and which many, because they do not share the same opinion or are suspected of opposing the current regime of a people, freedom does not reach everyone and many because they do not have the same opinion or at least suspect opponents of the current regime. The use of the banishment to camps full of violence, barbarism and imposition of a single order and thought represents the lack of a citizen policy, respecting freedom of thought. As situações as quais referidas dizem respeito à chamada Operação limpeza.

The Differentiated Regime of Contracting (RDC) was introduced in the Brazilian legal system due to the realization of the matches of the 2014 World Cup, based in the country and Olympic Games 2106, headquartered in the city of Rio de Janeiro and later, were published new legislation allowing the use Of the instrument for other purposes beyond the original purpose of the standard, taking away the character of transience. In the sense of public contracts, a study is made of the importance of the bidding process for Public Administration in the search for the most advantageous proposal in light of the budgetary secrecy brought by the new legal diploma. The work had its focus on bidding processes using the RDC for selection and contracting within the scope of the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT).

The objective of this work was to study how the geographical distribution of banking networks from the specific dynamics of financialization - the bancarization, of the economy in the Aglomeração Urbana do Sul in different governments from 1994-2010 focused on the territory. It was studied how the bancarization of the territory and the society from the movement of assets of credits and deposits denoted two distinct moments in the recent history of Brazil: a decade neoliberal and another considered "inclusive". In the meantime, public banks were selected as State agents in the financial system, through banking concentration in established financial centers. In the scenario investigated, it points out the importance of public banks in cushioning the effects of the 2008 global crisis. Bank consolidation in municipalities of Pelotas and Rio Grande denotes the economic dynamism of the decade in question, both cities grew more than 12% on average GDP in that period. The territorial stability for the dispute between public banks and private agents has led to a form of action in which public policies are taken to less developed municipalities such as Arroio do Padre, Capão do Leão and São José do Norte through public banks such as the Banco do Brasil, Caixa Econômica Federal and Banrisul. It was established database during this investigation concerning Gross Domestic Product, Gini Index declined regionally, per capita income increased, the municipal human development index regionally indicated an increase in quality of life comparing the years 1994-2002 to 2003- 2010, the number of establishments, jobs in the sector, agencies and the movement of credit and deposits by banks. These indexes are part of the database that allowed the research presented here.

BATHYMETRIC maps ,OCEANOGRAPHIC maps - Abstract
Shelf morphology and sedimentary regimes are influenced by processes operating at different temporal and spatial scales and are important records of sea level changes and sediment supply and/or carbonate production. The northern continental shelf of Espírito Santo (Brazil) contains evidence of different sedimentary regimes that distribute diverse and complex marine habitats. Herein, seabed morphology, acoustic images of the seafloor (side scan sonar and sub-bottom profiler), and sediment samples were used to investigate the influence of sedimentary regimes on physical marine habitat distribution. Seabed mapping is also integrated with available data on fisheries to understand the influence of shelf morphology and sedimentology in the usage of distinct fishing gears. The results indicate five morpho-sedimentary facies: terrigenous mud, terrigenous sand, rhodolith beds, carbonate gravel with rhodoliths, and hardground. Through an integrated analysis of the geomorphology and sedimentary distribution, two morpho-sedimentary domains were identified: a sediment-fed shelf adjacent to the Doce River associated with a major mud depocenter and a delta front morphology characterized by gentle slopes and low terrain ruggedness, and a sediment-starved shelf dominated by carbonate sedimentation showing an irregular morphology associated with higher slopes and terrain ruggedness. These contrasting morpho-sedimentary domains are a result of sedimentary responses to sea level fluctuation during Late Quaternary, specially, during the deglaciation processes after the Last Glacial Maximum. The morphological and sedimentary contrasts along the area define the physical habitat distribution. The sediment supply regime area is associated with a terrigenous fine/muddy sedimentation bed, which control the local morphology and favors coastal and delta front progradation. This physical habitat is a well-known shrimp-fishing ground where intense trawling takes place, as well as gillnet fisheries targeting weakfish and croakers. The accommodation regime or low sediment influx area is characterized by carbonate sedimentation associated with hardgrounds and rhodolith beds. In contrast, this physical habitat with scarce sediment supply, facilitates extensive benthic colonization by crustose coralline algae (CCA), which is primarily associated to line fisheries, longlines, and spearfishing. Rhodoliths show a high diversity of CCA and the occurrence of an endemic kelp species. Long-term processes such as relative sea level fluctuations and sediment supply are a legacy for the distribution of benthichabitats, and their resulting morphology can be a surrogate for predicting fishing activities or a first-base analysis for marine spatial planning. Available low-resolution bathymetric datasets can be a powerful tool, if applied with caution and in a regional scale approach. Here, terrain variables (terrain slope and ruggedness) derived from an extensive available (low-resolution and interpolated) bathymetric dataset distinguished two contrasting morphological domains characterized by rugged and smooth/flat seabeds. The alterity and culture on which these texts are inscribed indicate the differences that constitute the social life which is a permanent source of tension and conflict. Based on this guidance, we forward the analyses on the referring works, discussing such opinions from the postcolonial theory with the studies of Bonnic (2000), Hall (2006) and Bhabha (2003) on cultural identity and diaspora; Canclini (2007) and Ortiz (2000) on issues such as globalization and internationalization. Regarding to questions of alterity and poetics of relation, Glissant (2005) emphasizes the fact that mankind cannot lead the world and therefore be instinctively led to conceive the world with others, at the same position which for the author means one of the first conditions of the relation poetics In memory we associate our discussions with Le Goff (1996) , Seligmann (2003) and Ecléa Bosi (1994), and the author who discuss the Portuguese-speaking African literature: Afonso (2004), Abdala Júnior (2003) Tânia Macedo (2007), Rita Chaves (2008), Bezerra (2007), Duarte (2010), among other ones. Thus, the analyses of this study lead us to understanding of literary universe of Mia Couto’s work and its relation with the world that fits in each conception of territories and diluted borders.

Three individual experiments were conducted in order to test different culture media and BAP/NAA combinations on the multiplication of Eucalyptus grandis x E. urophylla clones using the temporary immersion bioreactor RITA®. The MS medium and the frequency of immersion every two hours promoted the highest fresh weight and number of shoots per explant. However, cultures growth were different between the two clones evaluated. The combination of 1.0 µM BAP and 0.5 µM NAA promoted the greatest means in relation to fresh weight and number of shoots. The cultures presented high percentages of hyperhydricity and this physiological disorder was a limiting factor in the condition of this study Eucalyptus cultivation in bioreactors.

The present research aimed to analyze chlorophyll a fluorescence emission as well as chlorophyll levels in Ananas comosus (L. Merril) cv Pérola grown under greenhouse conditions and submitted to four concentration of nitrogen, through addition or not of ammonium sulphate according to the following treatments: Tº= 0.000; T1/2 = 0.015; T1 =0.030; and T2 = 0.060 g/kg soil. Determinations of minimum (F0), maximum (Fm), variable (Fv), and terminal (Ft) fluorescence and maximum photochemical efficiency (Fv/Fm) of dark-adapted leaves were carried out during the day, five days after the second application of ammonium sulphate, carried out 120 days after the transplant. The results showed that the addition of ammonium sulphate affected variable and maximum fluorescence, but not minimum and terminal fluorescence neither the photochemical efficiency. There were significant alterations in relation to the time of the day in which the fluorescence was read. Differences in leaf chlorophyll concentration were significant among treatments in relation to variations of ammonium sulphate concentration, with increase for chlorophyll a, total and to the ratio chlorophyll a/b, but not for chlorophyll b.

Many Archean mineralizations (eg. massive sulfide zinc, lead, zinc and copper, besides magnesiteetalc, ironetitaniumevanadium, iron, chromite and manganese) were generated before the assembly of the Craton. Deposits of chromite, nickel, gold and emerald were produced during the Paleoproterozoic orogenic cycle, when the Craton was amalgamated into the Atlantica paleocontinent. An extension event is recorded in the Neoproterozoic, during the breakup of Rodinia, associated with deposits of phosphorite and uranium. Kimberlite diamond and gold mineralization were generated during the Brasiliano orogenic cycle, coeval with the amalgamation of West Gondwana. A long-lasting and rather uniform crustal stress is recorded in the area during the Cambrian period. Resetting of the isotopic and magnetic systems that affected the Neoproterozoic sediments of the Irecê Basin at about 520 Ma was attributed to the regional-scale fluid migration and mineralization in the aftermath of the Brasiliano orogenic cycle.

These units are preserved as thick carbonate and siliciclastic strata in epicontinental seaways and shallow marine environments on passive cratonal margins, which have been intensely deformed in mobile belts surrounding the craton. Volcaniclastic and siliciclastic materials are associated with some of the marginal fold belts. Three mega-sequences are represented in the cratonal area: glaciogenic, carbonate and molasse. At least two transgressive-regressive sea level cycles occurred during the evolution of the carbonate mega-sequence, which lies above iron-cemented glacio-marine diamictite of probable Sturtian age. We report high resolution carbon, oxygen, strontium and sulfur isotope trends from analyses of well-preserved sample sets and use principally strontium and carbon isotopes from the best preserved samples in concert with lithostratigraphic and biostratigraphic observations to provide detailed correlations of the South American Neoproterozoic successions. Lead–zinc deposits, some of which with important metal reserves seem to be restricted to the Sturtian carbonate succession and associated with a sequence boundary at the end of the first transgressive–regressive cycle. Phosphate deposits are found in both Sturtian and Varangerian/Marinoan carbonate successions, above glaciogenic sequences.

U–Pb and Sm–Nd Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry (TIMS) isotopic data from amphibolite, tonalite, and granite, sampled in a well-known outcrop, indicate partial reset and heterogeneous modification of the original isotopic systems, attributable to deformation and metamorphism. The ages obtained from these systems agree with each other, and also with other previously published U–Pb data, and imply that 2.6 Ga is the crystallization age of the protolith of the amphibolite. Together with key structural relationships, they also indicate a 2.08–2.05 Ga interval for M3 metamorphism, and make even a less precise age (2.2–2.3 Ga) acceptable, as it suggests contamination in the amphibolite with material in a syn-D2 tonalite crystallized 2248±36 Ma ago. The new data demonstrate the existence of Neoarchean fragments of both oceanic and continental crusts and constrain the Archean-Paleoproterozoic development of the Curaçá belt, the I–S–C orogen, and the São Francisco craton.

Several mineralization phases have sequentially taken place during Atlantica evolution, involving Au, U, Cr, W, and Sn. During Rodinia assembly and breakup and Gondwana formation, the crust-dominated metallogenic processes have been overriding, responsible for several mineral deposits, including Au, Pd, Sn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Mn, Fe, Pb, U, P2O5, Ta, W, Li, Be and precious stones. During Rodinia breakup, epicontinental carbonate-siliciclastic basins were deposited, which host important non-ferrous base metal deposits of Cu–Co and Pb–Zn–Ag in Africa and South America. Isotope Pb–Pb analyses of sulfides from the non-ferrous deposits unambiguously indicate an upper crustal source for the metals. A genetic model for these deposits involves extensional faults driving the circulation of hydrothermal mineralizing fluids from the Archean/Paleoproterozoic basement to the Neoproterozoic sedimentary cover. These relations demonstrate the individuality of metal associations of every sediment-hosted Neoproterozoic base-metal deposit of West Gondwana has been highly influenced by the mineralogical and chemical composition of the underlying igneous and metaigneous rocks.

The majority of the deposits occur within shallow water dolomites. The Pb isotopic data of sulfides are relatively homogeneous for individual deposits and plot above the upper crust evolution curve of the Plumbotectonic model. Some of the deposits are characterized by highly radiogenic lead (206Pb/204Pb ≥ 21) originating from the highly radioactive crust of the São Francisco Craton. Pb and S isotopic data suggest the sources of metal and sulfur for the deposits to be the basement rocks and seawater sulfates in the sediments, respectively. The relatively high temperatures of formation (100 to 250 °C) and moderate salinity (3% to 20% NaCl equiv.) of the primary fluid inclusions in the sphalerite crystals suggest the participation of basinal mineralizing fluids in ore formation. The steep paleo-geothermal gradient generated by the radioactively enriched basement rocks probably assisted in heating up the circulating mineralizing fluids.

The present work was conducted to evaluate the viability of embryos of Mauritia flexuosa L. by tetrazolium test and in vitro culture, high temperature treatment on dormancy breaking, and the effect of storage at different temperatures on seed conservation. The viability of newly harvested embryos presented a high correlation with the rate of embryo germination in vitro. The rate of viability was higher than 90% either when evaluated by the tetrazolium method or by in vitro embryo culture. Dormancy breaking of seeds was tested by treating the seeds under temperatures of 30, 35 and 40ºC for 15, 30, and 45 days. Great variation was observed among treatments, but, at least on day 15 and on day 30, the germination was higher than in the control. Seeds stored in plastic bags for four and a half months and temperature of 20ºC presented a germination rate higher than 90% while in the seeds stored at 30ºC the viability was zero.

The siliciclastic sequence probably represents the remnants of a sedimentary basin, which formed in an Archean passive margin-type setting. The basin was subsequently subjected to a complex history of deformation, metamorphism, and hydrothermal activity, as a result of oblique collisional events in Late Archean and Paleoproterozoic. The majority of the auriferous occurrences in the area are hosted by quartz-pebble conglomerates, and have been noted to resemble placer-type deposits. However, structurally-controlled hydrothermal orebodies, and the formation of gold occurrences also in quartzites and mafic and ultramafic rocks, support an epigenetic model for the mineralizing event. Gold mineralization is interpreted to be an integral part of the late (~1.9 Ga) tectonothermal evolution of the Serra de Jacobina region. It was roughly coeval with the emplacement of large volumes of post-collisional type, peraluminous granitic magmas, during a regional strike-slip regime.

When compared with the liquid system, the solid system displayed the highest level of embryogenic callus multiplication for the clones studied.
