Resumo O presente artigo se debruça sobre algumas das reflexões do materialismo cultural de Raymond Williams visando delimitar a forma como elas emergem, em sua teoria, tanto em um traçado mais estrutural - no que se refere à posição de classe dos agentes, aqui pensados principalmente em termos de produtores culturais - quanto em uma dimensão de agência, cuja possibilidade é dada pela via emancipatória que seu complexo conceito de cultura permite entrever. Nessa empreitada, será necessário recuperar os diálogos críticos estabelecidos por Williams, sobretudo com outras vertentes do materialismo histórico dedicadas à análise da cultura e com a tradição canônica de Cambridge, onde recebeu sua formação. Assim, por meio da noção de cultura pensada como um espaço em disputa, Williams defende a concepção da cultura em geral - e da literatura em particular - como prática social pela qual os agentes estabelecem uma relação de oposição, potencializando a percepção da mudança social. Abstract This article will focus on some of the theoretical reflections on Raymond Williams’ cultural materialism aiming to delimitate the way in which they emerge, in his theory, both in a more structural layout - in terms of the class position of the agents, here thought of primarily in terms of cultural producers - and in a dimension of agency, whose possibility is given by the emancipatory path that his complex concept of culture allows us to glimpse. In this endeavour, it will be necessary to recover the critical dialogues established by Williams, mainly with other strands of historical materialism dedicated to the analysis of culture and with the canonical Cambridge tradition, where he got his formation. Thus, from the notion of culture thought as a space in dispute, Williams defends the conception of culture in general - and literature in particular - as a social practice by which agents establish a relation of opposition, enhancing the perception of social change.

Objective: To discuss the role of nurses in the quality control of the operating room, to promote patient safety. Methodology: This study is characterized as descriptive research with a qualitative approach, based on the search for scientific articles in the data platforms: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), National Library of Medicine – PUBMED and Scientific Electronic Library Online – SCIELO, published between 2017 and 2022. Results: 14 scientific articles were selected for the final sample, where it was possible to observe that the safe surgery checklist is the most important to be performed as a behavior of the nurse and the rest of the nursing team, and that they recognize the importance of patient safety. Final Considerations: The present study emphasizes the importance of nurses in organizing this care, ensuring that the professionals of the nursing team carry out the Patient Safety protocol, and in the Surgical Center they can apply the Safe Surgery regulations, thus using the Safety Checklist. Objetivo: Discutir el papel del enfermero en el control de calidad del centro quirúrgico, con el fin de promover la seguridad del paciente. Metodología: Este estudio se caracteriza por ser una investigación descriptiva con enfoque cualitativo, a partir de la búsqueda de artículos científicos en las plataformas de datos: Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud (LILACS), Biblioteca Nacional de Medicina – PUBMED y Scientific Electronic Library Online – SCIELO, publicado entre 2017 y 2022. Resultados: Se seleccionaron 14 artículos científicos para la muestra final, donde se pudo observar que el checklist de cirugía segura es el más importante a realizar como conducta del enfermero y el resto del personal. equipo y que reconocen la importancia de la seguridad del paciente. Consideraciones Finales: El presente estudio destaca la importancia del enfermero en la organización de este cuidado, asegurando que los profesionales del equipo de enfermería realicen el protocolo de Seguridad del Paciente, y en el Centro Quirúrgico puedan aplicar las normas de Cirugía Segura, utilizando así la Normativa de Seguridad Checklist Cirugía Segura, siguiendo la estandarización de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS). Considerações Finais: O presente estudo ressalta a importância do enfermeiro na organização desse cuidado, garantindo que os profissionais da equipe de enfermagem realizem o protocolo de Segurança do Paciente, e no Centro Cirúrgico possam aplicar as normativas da Cirurgia Segura, sendo utilizado assim o Checklist de Cirurgia Segura, seguindo a padronização da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS).

Purpose The CRIAS (Health trajectories of Immigrant Children in Amadora) cohort study was created to explore whether children exposed to a migratory process experience different health risks over time, including physical health, cognitive, socioemotional and behavioural challenges and different healthcare utilisation patterns. Participants The original CRIAS was set up to include 604 children born in 2015, of whom 50% were immigrants, and their parents. Recruitment of 420 children took place between June 2019 and March 2020 at age 4/5 years, with follow-up carried out at age 5/6 years, at age 6/7 years currently under way. Findings to date Baseline data at age 4/5 years (2019-2020) suggested immigrant children to be more likely to belong to families with less income, compared with non-immigrant children. Being a first-generation immigrant child increased the odds of emotional and behavioural difficulties (adjusted OR 2.2; 95% CI: 1.06 to 4.76); more immigrant children required monitoring of items in the psychomotor development test (38.5% vs 28.3%). The prevalence of primary care utilisation was slightly higher among immigrant children (78.0% vs 73.8%), yet they received less health monitoring assessments for age 4 years. Utilisation of the hospital emergency department was higher among immigrants (53.2% vs 40.6%). Age 5 years follow-up (2020-2021) confirmed more immigrant children requiring monitoring of psychomotor development, compared with non-immigrant children (33.9% vs 21.6%). Economic inequalities exacerbated by post-COVID-19 pandemic confinement with parents of immigrant children 3.2 times more likely to have their household income decreased. Future plans Further follow-up will take place at 8, 10, 12/13 and 15 years of age. Synergies between globalization and knowledge economy were suggested to direct biomedical research towards economically-interested activities. In this context, research in malaria, a disease endemic to poverty, may be at a paradoxical stance. This study addresses this issue assessing whether malaria research is driven by the accumulation of economic and/or other forms of capital. Drawing upon academic and epistemic capitalism, malaria research is characterized through the analysis of all Web of science-indexed publications involving Portuguese organizations (1900-2014; n=467). First, data was systematized by content and bibliometric analyses. Subsequently, multiple correspondence analysis revealed a bi-dimensional landscape (who’s publishing; what’s published) and cluster analysis identified three profiles (beginners; local appropriations; global science). This study reveals the construction of Portugal’s scientific system and unveils the assimilation of dominant modes of organizing, doing and thinking despite malaria’s research low profit potential. Extending this approach to other biomedical fields can unravel the dimensions underlying science’s (re)construction.

The role of migration as a determinant in child mental health has been demonstrated in a number of studies. However, results are not always consistent, and the research continues to be scarce, especially in Portugal. We examined the association between sociodemographic profiles and the chance for the development of emotional and behavioral difficulties in a group of 420 children, immigrant (n = 217) and born in Portugal to Portuguese born parents (n = 203). We used a structured questionnaire to obtain sociodemographic information and the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). Descriptive statistics were used to characterize children and their families; variables were compared between groups using the Chi-squared, Fisher’s Exact Test, or the Mann–Whitney U test and logistic regression was used to analyze the association between socio-demographic factors and emotional and behavioral difficulties. Results showed a pattern of social and mental health inequalities with immigrant children at a disadvantage: they are more often part of families with low income and where parents had low skilled jobs. Internalizing behaviors are more frequent in immigrants than in children born in Portugal to Portuguese-born parents (p = 0.001) whereas a high total SDQ difficulties score (p = 0.039) and externalizing behaviors were more frequent in 1st generation immigrant children (p = 0.009). A low family income (aOR 4.5; 95% CI: 1.43–13.95), low parental education level (aOR 2.5; 95% CI: 1.11–5.16), and being a first-generation immigrant child (aOR 2.2; 95% CI: 1.06–4.76) increased significantly the chance of developing emotional and behavioral difficulties. O artigo segue a abordagem Gender Equality Policy in Practice (GEPP) e visa aprofundar a compreensão do processo de adoção e implementação da Lei da Paridade em Portugal. Depois de mapear a forma como a lei foi implementada – incluindo uma descrição das ferramentas e instrumentos que foram criados e como se desenrolou na prática – é feita uma avaliação dos efeitos diretos da política, contribuindo para o debate sobre os indicadores de sucesso relacionados com as leis de quotas. Portugal adopted legislative quotas in 2006, passing the so-called Parity Law which specifies that candidate lists must include a minimum representation for each sex, and neither sex can occupy more than two consecutive positions in the candidate lists. This paper follows the Gender Equality Policy in Practice (GEPP) approach and aims to deepen our understanding of the adoption and implementation process of the Parity Law in Portugal. After mapping how the law was implemented in Portugal – including a description of the tools and instruments that were set up and how the process unfolded in practice – an assessment of the policy’s direct effects is carried out, contributing to the open debate on the indicators of success related to legislative quota laws. publishersversion published

This article focuses on one of the challenges faced by Raymond Williams in a renewed way in his work, that is, the intersection between a formal analysis of literary expressions and the political dimension not only of the work in question but also of the analysis undertaken by him. The sense of apprehending this crossroads is to remind the most recent analyses of politically engaged artistic productions that analytical work cannot presuppose that the pertinence of a socially relevant theme is automatically transmuted into a formulated theoretical problem. Otherwise, as Williams did, it is necessary to convert it into such a problem in order to reach, in fact, the political dimension implied in it. Este artículo trata de uno de los desafíos que Raymond Williams ha enfrentado persistentemente en su trabajo, es decir, el entrelazamiento de un análisis formal de las expresiones literarias y la dimensión política no sólo de la obra en cuestión, sino del análisis mismo emprendido por él. El sentido de aprehender este entrelazamiento es recordar a los análisis más recientes de producciones artísticas políticamente comprometidas que el trabajo analítico no puede presuponer que laimportanciade un tema socialmente relevante seconviertaautomáticamente en un problema teórico formulado. De manera diferente, como lo hizo Williams, es necesario convertirlo en un problema de investigación de este tipo para alcanzar, de hecho, la dimensión política involucrada en él. O presente artigo se debruça sobre um dos desafios enfrentados por Raymond Williams de forma renovada em sua obra, qual seja, o do entrecruzamento entre uma análise formal das expressões literárias e a dimensão política não só da obra em questão mas da análise mesma por ele empreendida. O sentido de apreender esse entrecruzamento é o de relembrar às análises mais recentes de produções artísticas politicamente engajadas que o trabalho analítico não pode pressupor que a pertinência de um tema socialmente relevante se transmuta automaticamente num problema teórico formulado. De outra forma, assim como fez Williams, é necessário convertê-lo em tal problema de investigação para que se alcance, de fato, a dimensão política nele implicada.

Resumo Este texto faz uma breve discussão da área da sociologia da literatura em âmbito internacional, trazendo uma síntese dos conflitos e indefinições que marcam sua institucionalização, bem como da produção acadêmica da área, ressurgida a partir da década de 1990, com vistas a introduzir e contextualizar o dossiê Literatura e conhecimento sociológico que compõe esta edição de Sociologias. Este dossiê pretende ser recebido como parte de um conjunto de trabalhos recentes que se vêm dedicando a redimensionar o escopo da sociologia da literatura. Os artigos nele encartados partiram de um tema específico: a relação entre literatura e conhecimento sociológico, o que põe em relevo uma reflexão sobre a natureza do conhecimento que se pode extrair de cada uma dessas formas de reconstrução do mundo social. Abstract This is a brief discussion on the area of sociology of literature internationally, bringing a synthesis of the conflicts and uncertainties that mark its institutionalization, as well as the resurgent academic production of the area as of the 1990s on, to introduce and contextualize the dossier Literature and sociological knowledge. This dossier is intended to be taken as part of a set of recent works that have been trying to redefine the scope of the sociology of literature. It comprises articles focused on a specific topic: the relationship between literature and sociological knowledge, which highlights a reflection on the nature of knowledge that can be drawn from each of these forms of reconstruction of the social world.

O contexto actual português tem sido caracterizado por uma preocupação com uma efectiva igualdade de oportunidades entre mulheres e homens, patente nomeadamente nas políticas públicas desenvolvidas e implementadas visando o equilíbrio dos desajustes existentes. Mas há desigualdades, neste caso de género, que persistem, particularmente no trabalho e no emprego e, de forma ainda mais vincada, nos lugares de topo e de tomada de decisão. Entendemos as elites políticas como o elo de ligação privilegiado entre a sociedade civil e a acção política e como agentes fundamentais no impulsionamento da mudança social, pelo que a forma como elas próprias se estruturam e reproduzem é essencial não apenas para a compreensão dos mecanismos de uma desigualdade que é estrutural e que perpassa os diferentes sectores da sociedade, como para o seu equilíbrio. O presente trabalho pretendeu, por um lado, caracterizar aprofundadamente a participação das mulheres nas elites políticas portuguesas (em cargos de eleição a nível nacional e local) e, por outro, identificar bloqueios e potenciais de mudança neste domínio. Nesse sentido, definimos como questão orientadora da investigação a possível mimetização da hierarquia das relações sociais de género (onde a masculinidade goza de mais poder e valorização social relativamente à feminilidade) por parte do poder político. Concretamente, e considerando que existe também uma hierarquia nos poderes políticos, procurámos perceber se encontraríamos ou não uma maior proporção de homens em instâncias políticas mais valorizadas e com maior poder, nomeadamente executivo. Em torno desta interrogação inicial, colocámos cinco questões adicionais que nos ajudaram a desenhar o quadro das desigualdades de género no domínio político que se centram: (i) nos processos de transformação política e social na sociedade portuguesa no último século, que condicionaram ou potenciaram a participação das mulheres na actividade política; (ii) nos elementos bloqueadores e potenciadores da participação das mulheres nas elites políticas, tanto centrais como locais; (iii) na configuração da participação das mulheres nos órgãos de poder central e local de eleição no Portugal democrático; (iv) nos atributos sociodemográficos que marcam as disparidades numéricas da presença de homens e mulheres nas elites políticas; e (v) na eficácia dos actuais mecanismos de promoção de uma participação paritária na política. Apesar da sua elevada participação no mercado de trabalho e a detenção de um elevado capital escolar, as mulheres permanecem, enfrentando tectos e paredes de vidro, numa posição de maior fragilidade no tecido laboral. Neste contexto, e respondendo às questões inicialmente colocadas, encontrámos um elevado potencial de mudança dos paradigmas tradicionais de género, potencial esse que assenta nas transformações significativas que se operaram transversalmente à sociedade portuguesa e também no domínio político. Não obstante, continuam a verificar-se imobilismos que colocam homens e mulheres em posições assimétricas no tecido social, particularmente no que diz respeito à representação política. Esta arena, tradicionalmente masculinizada, constitui-se como local privilegiado para a discussão e combate das desigualdades sociais, no reconhecimento do papel central que desempenha na regulação das relações sociais. Concern for an actual equality between women and men has shaped the current Portuguese social and political context, as seen in recent public policies, developed and implemented to balance existing disparities. Notwithstanding, many inequalities persist, namely gender inequalities, particularly in the labour market, and these are even more resilient in decision-making positions. We believe that political elites are a privileged link between civil society and political action, as well as being key players in encouraging social change. As such, studying the way these elites are structured and reproduce themselves is critical not only for understanding the mechanisms of a structural inequality that pervades different sectors of society, but also for taking balancing action. On one hand, this study seeks to thoroughly characterize the participation of women in the Portuguese political elites (in elected positions at national and local levels), and, on the other hand, to identify the blockages and drivers for change in this area. Consequently, our guiding research question was centred on the possible mimicry of the hierarchy of gender relations by political context in Portugal (where masculinity enjoys more power and is more socially valued than femininity). Specifically, and considering that there is also a hierarchy among political actors, we tried to determine whether we would find a higher proportion of men in the most powerful and valued political bodies. In addition to this main interrogation, we raised five additional questions that help us draw the portrait of gender inequalities in the political domain. These focus on: (i) the political and social transformation processes in the Portuguese society of the last century, which both restricted and encouraged the participation of women in politics; (ii) the drivers and blockers of the advancement of women’s participation in political elites, both in legislative and local governments; (iii) the layout of women’s participation in the legislative and local government elections of the democratic period; (iv) the socio-demographic features that characterize the numerical disparities of men and women’s presence in the political elites; and (v) the effectiveness of the current mechanisms for promoting equal participation in politics. Despite their high participation in the labour market and educational credentials, women still face glass walls and ceilings, remaining in fragile labour market position. Therefore, having answered our initial questions, we found a high potential for change in the traditional gender paradigm, which is grounded on the significant transformations that have taken place across Portuguese society, particularly in the political domain. Nevertheless, there is still some immobility that keeps men and women in asymmetrical societal positions, especially in regard to political representation. This traditionally masculine field constitutes a privileged medium for discussing and combating social inequalities, as we recognize its central role in the regulation of social relations.

UID/SOC/04647/2013; SFRH/BPD/77611/2011; PEst-OE/SADG/UI4067/2013-2014 (CESNOVA) This paper characterises the joint impacts of intra- and extra-organisational contexts on innovation development during the socio-economic crisis in Portugal. The characterisation of these contexts in 309 firms of the Information and Communication Technology services sector allowed for the identification of two profiles via a cluster analysis. These were mostly discriminated by financial resources and clients and not by science and technology activities. Subsequently, these profiles were related to innovation, top managers' perceptions and expectations for the future. The data shows that under favourable contexts, innovation increases, the firm is perceived to drive innovation and confidence in the companies' future emerges. In more unfavourable scenarios, innovation is compromised, the environment is perceived to block innovation and confidence is halted. This paper establishes companies' profiles for the first time in Portugal and suggests that intra- and extra-organisational contexts have to be jointly tackled to foster present innovation and promote future activities. preprint published

UID/SOC/04647/2013 Representando metade da população mundial (49,6% em 2015), as mulheres encontram-se subrepresentadas na área política em todo o mundo. Muitas têm sido as explicações avançadas para o afastamento das mulheres dos lugares de tomada de decisão política que passam por factores de ordem cultural e histórica; demográfica e socioeconómica; e política (ligada ao sistema eleitoral, configuração político-partidária, duração da democracia, entre outras). A acção afirmativa, através do estabelecimento de limiares mínimos de participação de cada um dos sexos como meio de alcançar a paridade, tem sido um dos temas mais debatidos, tanto academicamente como nas arenas política e pública, permanecendo ainda um assunto polémico. Mesmo que, até para os seus defensores, a aplicação de medidas de acção positiva não seja condição suficiente, parece constituir se um elemento chave na aceleração e consolidação da mudança em direcção a uma participação igualitária de homens e mulheres na tomada de decisão política. A nível mundial, a proporção de mulheres nos parlamentos situa-se nos 22,9% ao passo que na Europa este valor sobe para os 25,9%. Em Portugal, após as últimas eleições legislativas de 2015, a proporção de deputadas eleitas atingiu os 32,6%. No presente trabalho, enquadrado numa investigação mais alargada sobre as desigualdades de género na política portuguesa, far-se-á uma análise do impacto da Lei da Paridade em Portugal, implementada em 2006, na evolução das eleitas para a Assembleia da República. Partindo da análise da composição das listas apresentadas pelos maiores partidos às eleições legislativas e da composição do Parlamento desde 1976, em termos de género, traçar-se-á o quadro de mudanças e imobilismos da participação política das mulheres no Portugal democrático. Para além de uma análise longitudinal, que revela um aumento sustentado da presença das mulheres na política (impulsionado pela Lei da Paridade), serão também destacadas as diferenças encontradas ao nível das várias forças políticas, que revelam que é nos partidos mais à esquerda que se encontra, invariavelmente, uma maior proporção de mulheres. Por último, e tendo em conta as grandes assimetrias verificadas no número de candidatas e de eleitas pelo território nacional, far-se-á ainda uma análise tendo em conta os diferentes círculos eleitorais. Women are still underrepresented worldwide in the political arena, even though they represent half of the global population (49.6% in 2015). Many explanations for the exclusion of women from political decision-making posts have been given, including cultural and historical, demographic and socio-economic, and political factors. Affirmative action, establishing minimum thresholds for the participation of each sex, as a means to achieve parity, has been one of the most debated topics, both academically and in the political and public arenas; it remains a controversial issue. While even some of its supporters consider the application of positive action measures insufficient, they seem to constitute a key element in accelerating change towards equal participation of men and women in political decision-making. Worldwide, the proportion of women in Parliament stands at 22.9%, while in Europe this figure rises to 25.9%. In Portugal, after the last parliamentary elections of 2015, the proportion of female deputies reached 32.6%. In this paper, framed by a wider research on gender inequalities in Portuguese politics at national and local levels, we will perform an analysis of the impact of the Parity Law in Portugal, implemented in 2006, on the increase of female parliamentarians. Based on the analysis of the composition of the electoral lists presented by the major parties for the parliamentary elections and the gender distribution of Parliament since 1976, we will trace the landscape of the changes and inertias of women’s political participation in Portugal. In addition to a longitudinal analysis, revealing a sustained increase of the number of women in politics (driven by the Parity Act), the differences in terms of the various political parties will also be highlighted, showing that the proportion of women is greater in left-wing parties. Finally, taking into account the large disparities observed in the number of candidates and elected MPs across the national territory, our analysis will also take into account the different constituencies. publishersversion published

Diferenciado e contraditório, no que se refere à lógica capitalista, necessita de trabalhos que forneçam subsídios para que os próprios sujeitos sociais possam pensar o seu espaço, assim como possibilitar ao poder público o conhecimento sistematizado a respeito das normas, significados, formas de cultivo, trabalho e estratégias de produção que predominam nos assentamentos rurais. Esta pesquisa revela parte das relações existentes entre os camponeses (família) no interior de cada lote ou entre famílias, assim como questões que envolvem o desdobramento das relações de parentesco no cotidiano dos assentados, no PA Nova Conquista (Rancharia/SP)... The studies regarding farmer‟s production and living space in land reform are relevant as we start to unveil a significant empiric universe in the regional context in which it is in and also as a social class within capitalism. Considered differentiated and contradictory, according to the capitalist logic, it needs work which allows support so the social individual can reflect about their own space, as well providing the public service with systematized knowledge regarding rules, meanings of cultivation, work and production strategies which rules in the rural settlements. This paper reveals part of the relationship between farmers (family) from each allotment or between the families, as well issues which involve the spreading of family relationships of the settled from Nova Conquista PA (Rancharia/SP)...

Dissertação para obtenção do grau de Mestre em Arquitetura com Especialização em Arquitetura de Interiores, apresentada na Universidade de Lisboa - Faculdade de Arquitetura. A actual investigação incide sobre a temática da preservação da memória e identidade do lugar e na relação entre o antigo e o contemporâneo. Serão explorados estes conceitos no projecto de dos três edifícios devolutos e do seu vazio urbano adjacente na Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo em Lisboa. A memória é parte identitária do indivíduo e na arquitectura aplica-se de igual modo. A memória do lugar, dos edifícios, é um fragmento da sua identidade e, quando se aborda a preservação dessa memória na arquitectura, não se trata só da conservação mas sim, da conjugação da arquitectura contemporânea com a história do edifício. Assim, pretende-se intervir num espaço devoluto, pré-existente, preservando a sua identidade, explorando novas relações entre o antigo e o contemporâneo, dando-lhe um novo uso que se adapta às necessidades actuais pois, por se tratar de edifícios de habitação do século XIX, já não se enquadram no modo de vida actual. É intenção deste trabalho a dinamização do lugar, procurando distanciar-se do uso terciário e laboral, procurando mais o sentido comunitário e habitacional, inexistente, actualmente, através de espaços interiores no quarteirão, e da relação entre esses mesmos espaços e a avenida. O conjunto de edifícios devolutos será adaptado a uma residência de estudantes e, o espaço urbano adjacente integrará um complexo de apoio que incluirá biblioteca, espaços de estudo, lojas, ginásio, lavandaria e, salas de trabalho, indo à procura de uma multifuncionalidade de espaços. ABSTRACT: The current research focuses on the preserving memory and identity of the place and the relationship between ancient and contemporary. Those concepts will be explored in the project of the there influences and how the rehabilitation of three unoccupied buildings and their adjacent urban void at Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo in Lisbon. Memory is part of the individual identity and architecture applies equally. The memory of the place and the building is a fragment of its identity and when dealing with the preservation of this architecture memory, it is about not only conservation but also the combination of contemporary architecture with the building’s history. Therefore, we intend to intervene in a unoccupied pre-existing space, preserving its identity, exploring new relationships between the antique and the contemporary, giving it a new use that adapts to current needs because, as XIX century residences, they no longer fit the contemporary lifestyle. The intention of the proposal is to boost the urban place, trying to distance it from services and labor use, and looking for more community housing which is actually inexistent, through the block interior spaces, and the connection between those spaces and the avenue. The number of unoccupied buildings will be adapted to a student residence and the nearing urban space integrate a new building that will include support library, study spaces, shops, gym, laundry and work rooms, searching for a multifunctional space

A partir da investigação do problema (Por que falta água em algumas zonas de Bagé?), analisa-se também a natureza das aprendizagens dos alunos e os reflexos dessas práticas pedagógicas no meu desenvolvimento profissional. Neste sentido, foi realizada uma pesquisa com os alunos participantes do projeto através de entrevistas sobre o desenvolvimento do trabalho e seu favorecimento na aprendizagem dos mesmos, a partir da contextualização dos conteúdos e da metodologia utilizada, bem como a aprendizagem da minha prática docente que esta experiência me possibilitou. Neste trabalho defendo a concepção de um desenvolvimento profissional impulsionado pelo questionamento e crítica de um conhecimento majoritário e de senso comum, constituído a partir de um modelo didático tradicional. Como possibilidade de superação dos problemas didático-metodológicos derivados do modelo tradicional de ensino, apresento o Modelo de Investigação na Escola como uma prática de referência para favorecer a formação de um professor-pesquisador. Assim, a metodologia desse projeto de ensino fundamenta-se na pesquisa em sala de aula, ou seja, utiliza os momentos de questionamento, construção de argumentos e comunicação no desenvolvimento das atividades investigativas dos alunos, possibilitando-lhes construírem seu conhecimento a partir dos pressupostos de autonomia e cidadania desejados. Essa metodologia, favorece ao professor investigar sua prática docente, e com isso, qualificar seu conhecimento profissional. A análise dos dados revelou que a aprendizagem dos alunos foi favorecida pela metodologia utilizada, principalmente em aspectos atitudinais relacionados com a construção da autonomia e da cidadania. O desenvolvimento destas atividades me oportunizou a reorganização e a qualificação de meu conhecimento profissional. The aim of this 'report'(ve se eh esse o nome pode ser 'paper') is to develop the project "water supplying in Bage", related through researchs in the classroom and based on the School Model of Investigation, which the main goal was: building the benefits of the 'autonomy' and "cidadania" of the students and the teacher. From the investigation of the issue (Why do we have lack of water in some areas in Bage?), the reseach is focused on students learning, as well as, the influences of these techniques in my professional development. First of all, it was made a research with the students, who were involved, through surveys about the development of the project and its benefits in their learning, from the subjects and techniques used. Moreover, this experience allowed me to increase my own skills. I point out, in this project, the professional development boosted through questions and evaluation of a higher knowledge and common sense, made by a traditional model. As a alternative to get over the teaching issues, created by the traditional model of teaching, I introduce the School Model of Investigation, as a reference to be used by 'seacher-teachers'. Basically, the technique used in this project is: doing the researches in the classroom. In fact, that means to take advantage of all points of the debates, questions time, arguments and communication among the students, in order to develop the searching activities of them. That will allow them to increase their knowledge throughout 'pressupostos da cidadania e autonomia desejados'. This technique, not only allow the teachers evaluate their current performance, but also increase their professional capacity. Finally, the results had shown that the learning capacity of the students is 'boosted' (verbo boost ve se o passado eh boosted - cheers) by the techinique used, mainly, in terms related with attitude 'com a construcao da autonomia e da cidadadnia'. In conclusion, the development of these activities had permited me to reorganize and increase my professional knowledge.

This M-Sc Thesis, whose title is “Changes in the socioeconomic and environmental profile from tourist activity in the municipal district of Guaramiranga-Ce”, has main objective to accomplish a study about changes in the socioeconomic and environmental profile caused by the actions tourist activites in Guaramiranga. It is used as method for obtaining data, individual, secret and anonymous, through questionnaire with closed and open questions, accomplished in the municipal, accompanied of participant observation in having referred place. The analysis and interpretation of the primary and secondary data demonstrate that the tourism has been contributing to the socioeconomic development of the municipal in a gradual way. Guaramiranga still protects traditional production processes that base on flowers, vegetables, fruits and craft. Now, beginning to a new format in their production way with the increment of the tourist activity, generating occupation and income for the population and the local trade. Consequently the speculators appear, constructions of residences and of equipments of lodging means and of infrastructure. In most of cases, speculation propitiates actions causadrs antropc of significant damages to the natural environment, committing the sustainability of the tourism in the city of Guaramiranga. Esta dissertação, cujo título é “Mudanças no perfil socioeconômico e ambiental provocadas pela atividade turística no município de Guaramiranga-Ce”, tem como objetivo principal realizar um estudo sobre as mudanças no perfil socioeconômico e ambiental causadas pelas ações da atividade turística em Guaramiranga. Utiliza-se como método para obtenção de dados, entrevistas individuais, sigilosas e anônimas, por meio de questionário com perguntas fechadas e abertas, realizadas no município, acompanhadas de observação participante em referida localidade. A análise e interpretação dos dados primários e secundários demonstram que o turismo tem contribuído para o desenvolvimento socioeconômico do município de forma gradativa. Guaramiranga ainda resguarda tradicionais processos de produção que se baseiam no cultivo de flores, hortaliças, frutas e artesanato. Atualmente, dá-se início a um novo formato em seu modo de produção com o incremento da atividade turística, gerando ocupação e renda para a população e o comércio local. Conseqüentemente surgem os especuladores, edificações de residências e de equipamentos de meios de hospedagem e de infraestrutura. Na maioria dos casos, esta especulação propicia ações antrópicas causadoras de danos significativos ao meio ambiente natural, comprometendo a sustentabilidade do turismo na cidade de Guaramiranga.

Mestrado em Métodos Biomoleculares A saliva é um fluido composto principalmente por 99,5% de água, 0,3% de proteínas e 0,2% de substâncias inorgânicas. Existe um interesse crescente na aplicação da proteómica/peptidómica para o estudo de doenças infecciosas, nomeadamente no estudo do papiloma vírus humano (HPV) cujo desenvolvimento está relacionado com alguns carcinomas espinocelulares, como por exemplo, tumores da cabeça e pescoço. Contudo, o sistema imunológico reage de alguma forma à presença deste vírus. O objectivo deste trabalho consiste na identificação de proteínas virais na saliva e também a identificação de espécies virais de indivíduos com cancro da cabeça e pescoço. A caracterização peptidómica viral da saliva envolveu a acidificação da amostra com igual volume de TFA. A análise desta foi efectuada utilizando como ferramenta peptidómica o nano-HPLC MS e o MALDI-TOF/TOF. Foram identificados 16 vírus, sendo alguns pertencentes à família do herpesvírus humano, três tipos de HPVs entre outros, como o vírus feline sarcoma. Os vírus correspondentes ao papiloma vírus humano correspondem ao carcinoma da pele, o que nos leva a crer que como os indivíduos estão mais imunodeprimidos podem desencadear outro tipo de vírus. Posso assim concluir que esta técnica é eficaz para a detecção de vírus na saliva. ABSTRACT: The saliva is a fluid composed mainly of 99.5% water, 0.3% protein and 0.2% of inorganic substances. There is a growing interest in applying proteomics / peptidómica for the study of infectious diseases, particularly in the study of human papilloma virus (HPV) whose development is associated with some squamous cell carcinoma, such as tumors of the head and neck. However, the immune system reacts to some extent the presence of this virus. The aim of this work is the identification of viral proteins in saliva and the viral species identification of individuals with cancer of the head and neck. The characterization of viral peptidómica involved the acidification of the saliva sample with an equal volume of TFA. The analysis was done using this tool as peptidómica the nano-HPLC and MALDI-TOF/TOF MS. Viruses 16 were identified, with some belonging to the family of human herpesvirus, three types of HPV among others, as the feline sarcoma virus. Viruses related to human papilloma virus is the carcinoma of the skin, which leads us to believe that as more individuals are immunocompromised may trigger another type of virus. I therefore conclude that this technique is effective for the detection of virus in saliva.
