Introduction: Working as a team is the desired approach by many industries because of the benefits it provides for service users, team members, and services. However, to make a team work, many factors must be considered. One framework that can support this process is the Input-Process-Output framework which represents the various, non-linear factors that can contribute to a team's outcomes. For example, virtual working (VW) has been found to be a factor that can negatively impact team processes (e.g., trust, cohesion, communication) and team outputs (e.g., team effectiveness and satisfaction). With the pandemic enforcing VW, many spoke about its impact for clients using mental health services. However, little is known about the impact of VW during the pandemic on the teams providing the service. Aims: Therefore, this study aimed to explore the impact of VW during the pandemic on perceived team cohesion, trust, communication, perceived team effectiveness and job satisfaction. It also aimed to examine whether previously found correlations between these team processes and outputs could be generalised to teams who became virtual during the pandemic. Methodology: A quantitative online survey was completed by 57 NHS secondary community mental health workers. This survey consisting of six sections included variety of measures, testing team processes and outcomes. Results: There was a significant decline on perceived team cohesion, trust, and satisfaction. However, there was no statistically significant decline on team effectiveness during the pandemic. Results also confirmed previous findings regarding correlations between team processes and outcomes. Conclusion: Virtual working may have had a negative impact on secondary mental health teams during the pandemic. However, despite this, team members have expressed wishes to maintain some aspects of VW. This study adds to our growing examination of the true impact of the pandemic and provides clinical and research recommendations that could support team effectiveness, especially as hybrid ways of working are becoming the norm for many.

TEAMS in the workplace ,TEAMS - Abstract
Purpose: Teamwork is now one of the primary forms of collaboration in companies. This is particularly true for project-managed companies. The aim of the research was to determine whether the behaviours of a 'E' employee could represent a reinforcement of dysfunction according to P. Lencioni. Design/methodology/approach: A method for identifying the characteristics of the 'E' employee and their approach to teamwork was presented. These were then contrasted with the dysfunctions according to P. Lencioni. Findings: The 'E' employee is a potential source of threats to team effectiveness and efficiency. At the same time, when dysfunctions build up in the team, an employee with 'E' traits may exacerbate undesirable behaviours and limit the overcoming of these dysfunctions. Research limitations/implications: A major limitation of further research is the selection of existing teams and further evaluation of them in terms of the dysfunctions present. Originality/value: The article is aimed at managers managing teams. It shows how to cope when a team member is a 'E' employee. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to analyze the role of organizational behavior as a mediator in the relationship between charismatic leadership, motivation, and teamworks towards sustainable work development. Conducted using a quantitative approach at the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, the study utilized primary and secondary data sources through observation, questionnaires and documentation. The sample comprised 386 respondents selected using the Slovin formula from a population of 11,067 employees. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the direct and indirect effects of the variables and mediator variables. The study found that charismatic leadership, motivation, and teamwork variables have direct and indirect effects on organizational behavior and sustainable work development. Organizational behavior mediates the relationship between charismatic leadership and motivation, which significantly predict sustainable work development. However, organizational behavior does not significantly mediate the relationship between teamworks and sustainable work development due to employee focus on teamworks. The dominant variable that influences organizational behavior and sustainable work development is charismatic leadership. The study emphasizes the importance of government organizations having charismatic leadership with strong motivation in teamworks to ensure sustainable work development. Overall, this study provides insights into the relationship between leadership, motivation, organizational behavior, and teamworks in achieving sustainable work development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The relevance of the problem under study is due to the need to improve the practical skills and competencies of students in the course of training in order to prepare them for competition with other job seekers in employment. In this regard, this article is aimed at identifying the expediency of students’ participation in competitive selections and grants as a factor that creates conditions for effective practice-oriented learning. The leading method for the study of this problem is a pedagogical experiment, which allows us to comprehensively consider the relationship between students’ participation in competitions and their further self-realization and development as young professionals. The article presents the results of monitoring the behavior of students who received an offer to participate in the university-wide competitive selection of student projects, implemented as part of the Program for Supporting Applied Research and Development of Students and Postgraduates of Petrozavodsk State University. The materials of the article can be useful for teaching staff in building a scheme for teaching students and services involved in the recruitment of personnel for large and medium-sized companies that require young professionals to have practical work skills, teamwork skills and creativity.

APPRENTICES ,VOCATIONAL education ,DIGITAL transformation ,EDUCATIONAL technology ,WORK environment ,VIRTUAL work teams - Abstract
Purpose: The digital transformation and the increased use of technologies have changed the world of work severely. With it, collaboration and cooperation methods among employees. Therefore, new ways of working together must be applied to work in an international and digital working environment. For Vocational Education and Training (VET), developing new (transversal) competencies to engage in virtual teamwork is necessary to adequately prepare young professionals for the present and future labor market. However, there is little research on the current situation in VET regarding virtual teamwork. Approach: We deployed a cross-sectional design and collected data from N = 181 commercial apprentices in Germany regarding virtual teamwork. We analyze our data using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the interrelationships between input, process, and outcome variables to foster satisfaction and innovative learning in virtual teams as desired targets of VET. To assess these results regarding virtuality, the complexity of tasks, gender of the apprentices, and the size of the training firms, we derived a multigroup analysis (MGA) of our model. Findings: The results indicate that organizational factors have the most significant influence concerning the relationship between input and process factors. Surprisingly, the technical affinity of individuals has only a minor effect. Regarding the relationship between process and outcome factors, motivation and responsibility have the highest impact on innovative learning, whilst communication culture severely affects the perceived satisfaction in virtual teamwork. Conclusion: The findings lead to valuable insights on factors influencing virtual teamwork in VET and can help to design learning programs to prepare young professionals to smoothly transition to and successfully master their future working environments by using new ways of collaboration and cooperation. This is particularly relevant for VET, as prior research has focused primarily on primary and secondary education. Lastly, we identify potential scales and items that help capture some of the inherent constructs of virtual teamwork. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: A significant source of information regarding product quality for a company is the complaints lodged by customers. The analysis of complaints can provide the company with valuable insights. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze complaints from a one-month period within a company manufacturing baby strollers. The analysis of complaints was conducted to identify areas within the studied company where discrepancies occur, enabling appropriate corrective actions to be implemented. Design/methodology/approach: The Pareto chart was utilized to conduct the analysis of complaints, illustrating the group of most significant issues. To delve into the root cause of the problem, a task force team employed the 5 Whys method. In the article, based on conducted literature reviews, a theoretical description of quality management tools and methods such as the Pareto chart, the 5 Whys method, Kaizen philosophy, teamwork, and additionally, information regarding product quality and safety can be found. Findings: During the course of our work, the source of failures within the company was identified. The major issue turned out to be haste, affecting both the production staff and an external company collaborating with the enterprise. As part of the corrective actions, a motivational system was implemented for employees, and piecework norms were established within the company. Additionally, an innovative solution was applied in the examined enterprise through the design and creation of pattern books for inter-process control within the company and final inspection at the crossbar flat supplier. The proposed problem-solving methods within the enterprise can be applicable for future endeavors. Research limitations/implications: The study was conducted over a short period of time due to the urgent need to address existing issues within the company. It can be inferred that if a longer time frame were taken into account, it would be possible to identify additional causes of discrepancies. Originality/value: The obtained results can serve as a valuable source of information for other companies manufacturing baby strollers, which are seeking solutions to their own issues. - Abstract
Purpose: Organisational environments are rapidly changing and enhancing the stress level of employees and other stakeholders which is ultimately affecting the organizational performance. The paper explores the possible role of workplace spirituality along with spiritual leadership to promote organizational effectiveness. To better examine the role of workplace spirituality and spiritual leadership in business settings, bibliometric analysis is conducted so that prominent authors, organizations, and countries can be identified for better insight into the problem. Design / methodology/approach: A total of 202 articles were retrieved from the Scopus database. All resulting datasets of 202 articles are specifically focusing on publications within the scope of "Workplace AND Leadership AND Spirituality" in "Business, Management and Accounting" area. The analysis encompassed various dimensions, including publication productivity, country-wise contributions, institutional affiliations, and author productivity. Additionally, top-cited documents, keyword analyses, network visualizations of keywords, and bibliometric coupling were explored to identify research trends and patterns. The study also reviewed literature pertaining to the applications of the workplace spirituality in business management and its implications for managerial practices. Findings: This bibliometric analysis (2014-2024) explores publication trends and their impact on Workplace Spirituality and Spiritual Leadership for Organizational Effectiveness. The findings reveal a disparity between publication volume and citation impact, highlighting that research quality often outweighs quantity, as seen in 2023 (high volume, low impact) and 2017 (moderate volume, high impact). Originality/Value: The present article is relevant to such business owners and senior managers who are in pursuit of enhancing their organizational performance by creating a stress-free and cooperative environment in their business, using workplace spirituality and spiritual leadership. Introduction: The present study investigated the effect of a social skills intervention programme on the emotional intelligence of children with limited social skills. While many intervention programmes have been studied for the development of social skills and emotional intelligence, most of them were conducted in foreign countries. However, the present study was conducted due to the limited availability of such programmes in India. Aim: The aim of this study was to develop an intervention programme on social skills for children with limited social skills and to determine the effect of the programme on intra and interpersonal awareness and management of these children. Materials and Methods: An experimental study was conducted at the Department of Education, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. The study lasted for six weeks, from December 2013 to January 2014. A total of 40 ninth-grade students, aged between 13-15 years, selected from two schools in Kurukshetra, Haryana (Arya Public School and Mata Rukmini Rai School). The experimental group (n=20) received the intervention programme related to social skills, while the control group (n=20) received no intervention. The students were pre-tested and post-tested using a scale on social skills and the ‘Mangal Emotional Intelligence Inventory’ 2005 (MEII) emotional intelligence inventory. Statistical analysis “t-test” was applied for to measuring significance of the difference between the performance of the experimental and control groups. Results: The present study showed a significant change in intrapersonal and interpersonal awareness and management of children with limited social skills after the implementation of the intervention programme designed by the researcher. The calculated t-ratio for the pre-test scores of the experimental and control groups (0.19) was not significant at the prescribed levels of significance (0.05 and 0.01). This suggests that no significant difference was found between the pre-test scores of the experimental and control groups in terms of emotional intelligence. The mean score of the experimental group students (85.65) was higher than the mean score of the control group students (59.40). Conclusion: The social skills intervention programme proved to be effective in influencing the emotional intelligence of students with limited social skills. Students should be encouraged to develop social skills such as conversation skills, friendship skills, leadership skills, honesty, and teamwork, as these contribute to emotional intelligence and overall success. Cocurricular activities should be considered as important as the curriculum. Students should be observed for peer relations, lack of interest, friendship skills, and cooperative skills, as schools can be considered a miniature society where children with limited social skills can be identified early on.

Introduction: The target of new KB participants for the Long-Term Contraception Method (MKJP) that was not achieved and the decline in the achievement of the new KB MKJP is the responsibility of PKB. This is due to the role of PKB as the spearhead of the success of the family planning program in the field. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors of family planning counselor teamwork related to the achievements of the new MKJP family planning participants. Methods: This research is a descriptive quantitative study, using a cross-sectional design. Result: The results of this study found that 14 of the 20 PKB teams with good leadership teams experienced a low decline and the remaining six teams experienced a high decline. The category of decreasing participants is divided into two, namely the low decline is the team that has decreased from the previous year of 11.77% - 27.54%, while the high decline category is the team with a decrease from the previous year of 27.55% - 43.31%. Conclusion: This happens when the team implements mutual performance monitoring, backup behavior, adaptability, and loop communication properly, so the decrease in the achievement of new MKJP KB participants will be lower, and vice versa. When the workforce is able to work well together, by paying attention to the work of one team and trying to help each other in achieving the agreed goals, it will indirectly improve performance so that it will easily reach the target.

The research satisfies the current world trends in future jobs, where team work is considered as one of the significant soft skills till 2030. The purpose of the paper is to identify the key team roles, which have leading impact on social competence of young scientists in Ukraine. The novelty of the research is represented by the created theoretical model of social competence and its connection with team work. The proposed model includes such blocks as: approaches to definition, structural elements in combination with evaluation criteria, types of an individual’s social competence, functions and levels of social competence as well as approaches to social competence research. The object of the scientific research is the process of using team work tools in social competence management of young scientists’ teams. The research methodology includes such methods: comparative analysis, critical analysis, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, and cluster analysis. The research is based on the results of the special direction of the mass sociological survey of young scientists in Ukraine. The limitations of the research are that the period of gathering data covers 2020 year before the war in Ukraine. The Belbin’s approach to team roles was taken for researching the current state of team work as an important part of social competence of young scientists in Ukraine. The obtained results confirmed quite equal distribution of managers’ types in the teams of young scientists. The most important team roles are Implementer and Team-worker that corresponds to the young scientists’ basic functions. But, such team roles as Monitor-evaluator, Resource Investigator and Plant require better development. The practical value of the research for the young scientists’ community is in the use of the levels of team-role orientations in building the young scientists project teams and developing their social competence, which gives the opportunity to improve the education and training of young scientists. The possible directions of the research development are studying of the other approaches to team management, stress management and emotional well-being of young scientists. The possible ways of developing team work in particular and social competence in general in the process of education and training of young scientists are the implementation of special modules of soft skills development.

Many collaborative online projects such as Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap organize collaboration among their contributors sequentially. In sequential collaboration, one contributor creates an entry which is then consecutively encountered by other contributors who decide whether to adjust or maintain the presented entry. For numeric and geographical judgments, sequential collaboration yields improved judgments over the course of a sequential chain and results in accurate final estimates. We hypothesize that these benefits emerge since contributors adjust entries according to their expertise, implying that judgments of experts have a larger impact compared with those of novices. In three preregistered studies, we measured and manipulated expertise to investigate whether expertise leads to higher change probabilities and larger improvements in judgment accuracy. Moreover, we tested whether expertise results in an increase in accuracy over the course of a sequential chain. As expected, experts adjusted entriesmore frequently, made larger improvements, and contributed more to the final estimates of sequential chains. Overall, our findings suggest that the high accuracy of sequential collaboration is due to an implicit weighting of judgments by expertise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MIXED reality , *DECISION making , *SYNCHRONIZATION , *MEDICAL education , *VIRTUAL reality - Abstract
Background: Although battlefield first aid (BFA) training shares many common features with civilian training, such as the need to address technical skills and nontechnical skills (NTSs), it is more highly scenario-dependent. Studies into extended reality show clear benefits in medical training; however, the training effects of extended reality on NTSs, including teamwork and decision-making in BFA, have not been fully proven. Objective: The current study aimed to create and test a scenario-based, mixed-reality platform suitable for training NTSs in BFA. Methods: First, using next-generation modeling technology and an animation synchronization system, a 10-person offensive battle drill was established. Decision-making training software addressing basic principles of tactical combat casualty care was constructed and integrated into the scenarios with Unreal Engine 4 (Epic Games). Large-space teamwork and virtual interaction systems that made sense in the proposed platform were developed. Unreal Engine 4 and software engineering technology were used to combine modules to establish a mixed-reality BFA training platform. A total of 20 Grade 4 medical students were recruited to accept BFA training with the platform. Pretraining and posttraining tests were carried out in 2 forms to evaluate the training effectiveness: one was knowledge acquisition regarding the NTS and the other was a real-world, scenario-based test. In addition, the students were asked to rate their agreement with a series of survey items on a 5-point Likert scale. Results: A battlefield geographic environment, tactical scenarios, scenario-based decision software, large-space teamwork, and virtual interaction system modules were successfully developed and combined to establish the mixed-reality training platform for BFA. The posttraining score of the students'knowledge acquisition was significantly higher than that of pretraining (t=-12.114; P≤.001). Furthermore, the NTS score and the total score that the students obtained in the real-world test were significantly higher than those before training (t=-17.756 and t=-21.354, respectively; P≤.001). However, there was no significant difference between the scores of technical skills that the students obtained before and after training. A posttraining survey revealed that the students found the platform helpful in improving NTSs for BFA, and they were confident in applying BFA skills after training. However, most trainees thought that the platform was not helpful for improving the technical skills of BFA, and 45% (9/20) of the trainees were not satisfied with the simulation effect. Conclusions: A scenario-based, mixed-reality platform was constructed in this study. In this platform, interaction of the movement of multiple players in a large space and the interaction of decision-making by the trainees between the real world and the virtual world were accomplished. The platform could improve the NTSs of BFA. Future works, including improvement of the simulation effects and development of a training platform that could effectively improve both the technical skills and NTSs of BFA, will be carried out.
