Dieser Band fokussiert den Dialog zwischen universitärer Forschung, Lehre und internationaler Schulpraxis. Anlass ist ein veränderter Bildungsauftrag von Schule, der den zunehmenden Anforderungen einer kulturell wie sprachlich heterogenen Gesellschaft gerecht werden muss und in den Lernprozess zugleich digitale Medien didaktisch sinnvoll einbinden soll. Der Band ist aus einem dreitägigen Treffen hervorgegangen, zu dem das Zentrum für Lehrerbildung und Bildungsforschung im Oktober 2022 kooperierende Deutsche Auslandsschulen an die Universität Potsdam eingeladen hatte. Er stellt die Ergebnisse der gemeinsamen Überlegungen und Diskussionen zusammen. Ziel des Bandes ist, Potenziale der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Lehrer:innenbildung und Schulpraxis im internationalen Kontext aufzuzeigen und Bedingungen für einen wechselseitigen Transfer zu konkretisieren.

These proceedings present a selection of papers from the ICTTE 2021 conference. While face-to-face classroom instruction is brought back, there are a lot of lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic that schools, teacher training and education institutions, and government have to take into account. There is a need to reconsider what additional knowledge and skills pre-service teachers and in-service teachers need to be prepared for to anticipate such a similar unexpected situation in the future. Additionally, there is also a need to listen to in-service teacher experiences during the emergency remote teaching and integrate the positive lessons that they have gained, such as the use of technology, into the current post pandemic face-to-face classroom instruction. This proceeding is designed for teacher educators, researchers, in-service teachers, and pre-service teachers in the field of language education, math and science education and social science education, who are interested in these topics.

This volume constitutes selected papers presented during the First International Conference on New Media Pedagogy: Research Trends, Methodological Challenges and Successful Implementations, NMP 2022, held in Kraków, Poland, in October 2022. The 20 papers presented were thoroughly reviewed and selected from the 55 qualified submissions. They present recent research in the areas of teacher education in the information society, digitally-enhanced didactics, pedagogical innovations using ICT, e-learning, blended learning, crisis e-learning, digital inclusion and exclusion, identity of media pedagogy, and more.

El II Congreso Internacional Educare+Educere (2022) propone un espacio de encuentro, debate y discusión en torno a experiencias y buenas prácticas educativas encaminadas a la formación integral de los docentes. Los trabajos de investigación expuestos surgen de las prioridades enunciadas en el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior: desde la igualdad, la inclusión, la innovación, el multilingüismo, el uso de las tecnologías o las prácticas STEAM nos acercamos a las realidades y exigencias formativas del siglo XXI. This edited book is a collection of keynote speeches in the 3rd Global Teacher Education Summit in Beijing Normal University from October 14 to 16, 2017. The speeches intend to raise international response in the field of teacher education to the enduringly changing education policy environment. Multiple perspectives are needed in order to gain insights into teaching and teacher education for excellence and equity, as well as disentangle from rigid, inapplicable old paradigms. This book on one hand provides typify global voices, and on the other hand contributes Chinese stories to this field. China's education manifests a tendency with stronger indigenous features related to the changing domestic climate and international geopolitical position. Chapters included about teaching and teacher education in China can provide local evidence, intelligence and relevance to global audience, and even voice indigenous epistemes within the non-Western platform. The main theme of the proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Teacher Education and Professional Development (InCoTEPD 2019) is ‘'Teacher Education and Professional Development in Industry 4.0'. The papers have been carefully grouped under the subthemes of teacher education and professional development, curriculum, learning materials, teaching-learning process, technology and media, and assessment in Industry 4.0 education. They also cover vocational education in the era in question and one section is devoted to Industrially disadvantaged societies. Teachers are in the eyes of many the essential ingredient of success fueling educational development. The advancement of teaching and learning standards, both inside and outside of the classroom, hinges upon the effective participation of teachers in the relevant professional development programs being implemented in schools worldwide. In this regard, a number of valuable lessons can be learned from the experiences of countries that boast widely respected, modern education systems. Such lessons can subsequently be utilized to the advantage of other nations, including the GCC states, which are actively exploring a number of potential avenues in view of bolstering their respective teacher training and professional development programs. As highlighted in this volume – through a number of different case studies and with reference to the best practices being employed in the likes of the United Kingdom, Finland and South Korea – the provision of financial benefits and the elevation of teachers standing in society represent two prominent factors that enable the cultivation of a culture of excellence in the classroom. In the Gulf, research suggests that greater support should be given to highly educated and productive nationals who have chosen to pursue a career in teaching; based on an acknowledgement of the pivotal role that teachers play in terms of assisting human and societal development, which in turn, heightens the prospects of long-term economic prosperity. The retention of competent teachers is equally imperative, particularly for the education process itself, whereby experienced teachers serve as welcomed role models for the next generation of teachers. Possible solutions include: the construction of specific, more appealing career paths; the provision of professional development and further education opportunities; and raising societal awareness of the vital role played by teachers. The scholarly papers presented in this book provide a comprehensive overview of the current situation that teachers are facing in certain GCC countries, compared to other countries across the globe. Der Band dokumentiert eine Reihe von Beiträgen der XX. Internationalen wissenschaftlichen Konferenz Bildungsreform und Lehrerausbildung, die vom Ministerium für Bildung und Wissenschaft der Republik Litauen, der Litauischen Universität für Bildungswissenschaften in Vilnius (LEU) und der Pädagogischen Hochschule Heidelberg – University of Education gemeinsam veranstaltet wurde. Das Hauptthema der Konferenz waren Bildungs- und Qualitätsstandards der Hochschul- und Schulbildung. Dieses Qualitätsmanagement setzt den Erwerb interaktiver Kompetenzen im Bildungs-, Erziehungs- und Sozialisationsbereich voraus, gewissermaßen als innere Kräfte für Basiskompetenzen, die die Befähigung zu Identität ermöglichen im Hinblick auf die Herausforderungen der Gesellschaft des kommenden Jahrzehnts.

This book makes a contribution to a global conversation about the competencies, challenges, and changes being introduced as a result of digital technologies. This volume consists of four parts, with the first being elaborated from each of the featured panelists at CELDA (Cognition and Exploratory Learning in the Digital Age) 2014.Part One is an introduction to the global conversation about competencies and challenges for 21st-century teachers and learners. Part Two discusses the changes in learning and instructional paradigms. Part Three is a discussion of assessments and analytics for teachers and decision makers. Lastly, Part Four analyzes the changing tools and learning environments teachers and learners must face.Each of the four parts has six chapters. In addition, the book opens with a paper by the keynote speaker aimed at the broad considerations to take into account with regard to instructional design and learning in the digital age. The volume closes with a reflective piece on the progress towards systemic and sustainable improvements in educational systems in the early part of the 21st century.

Exclusionary pressures and practices are pervasive in education, despite the clamour for more inclusive education. Even as classrooms worldwide become more diverse, education is unlikely to become inclusive without deliberate efforts to dismantle exclusion and enable inclusion. This book is a compilation of contributions to the conversation about what these efforts might entail. The conversation has its origins in the Making Education Inclusive Conference held in 2013, which brought together academics and practitioners from Southern Africa and other countries. Given the expectation that teachers should play a key role in promoting inclusion, it is not surprising to find significant interest in teacher education from many of the contributing authors. Their concerns range from explicit teacher development for pedagogical responsiveness to learner diversity, to overcoming the epistemological marginalisation that learners experience where teachers are not fully confident of their subject content and how to teach it. Access to education is clearly not enough, and other contributors to this book concern themselves with ways in which structures and systems could be reconstituted to enable meaningful inclusion. This might mean looking at how teachers might use tiered systems of behaviour support and various metacognitive strategies, how physical access can be promoted on a university campus, and understanding how parents think about disability. Each chapter represents a different perspective on what it might mean to resist educational exclusion in its many forms, and each offers possible ways to make education more inclusive.

Over the past ten years there has been increased interest in research on various aspects of teacher education, ranging from the preparation of teachers to continuing professional development. The increase of interest in how teachers become competent in very complex social settings is a result of a general recognition by researchers and policy makers alike that teachers are the key to any serious efforts at educational reform.
