We introduce a novel uncertainty principle for generalized graph signals that extends classical time-frequency and graph uncertainty principles into a unified framework. By defining joint vertex-time and spectral-frequency spreads, we quantify signal localization across these domains, revealing a trade-off between them. This framework allows us to identify a class of signals with maximal energy concentration in both domains, forming the fundamental atoms for a new joint vertex-time dictionary. This dictionary enhances signal reconstruction under practical constraints, such as incomplete or intermittent data, commonly encountered in sensor and social networks. Numerical experiments on real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, showing improved reconstruction accuracy and noise robustness compared to existing methods.

The interplay of topology, magnetism, and correlations gives rise to intriguing phases of matter. In this study, through state-of-the-art angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, density functional theory and dynamical mean-field theory calculations, we visualize a fourfold degenerate Dirac nodal line at the boundary of the bulk Brillouin zone in the antiferromagnet YMn2Ge2. We further demonstrate that this gapless, antiferromagnetic Dirac nodal line is enforced by the combination of magnetism, space-time inversion symmetry and nonsymmorphic lattice symmetry. The corresponding drumhead surface states traverse the whole surface Brillouin zone. YMn2Ge2 thus serves as a platform to exhibit the interplay of multiple degenerate nodal physics and antiferromagnetism. Interestingly, the magnetic nodal line displays a d-orbital dependent renormalization along its trajectory in momentum space, thereby manifesting Hund coupling. Our findings offer insights into the effect of electronic correlations on magnetic Dirac nodal lines, leading to an antiferromagnetic Hund nodal line.

We consider a multiple hypothesis testing problem in a sensor network over the joint spatial-time domain. The sensor network is modeled as a graph, with each vertex representing a sensor and a signal over time associated with each vertex. We assume a hypothesis test and an associated p-value for every sample point in the joint spatial-time domain. Our goal is to determine which points have true alternative hypotheses. By parameterizing the unknown alternative distribution of $p$-values and the prior probabilities of hypotheses being null with a bandlimited generalized graph signal, we can obtain consistent estimates for them. Consequently, we also obtain an estimate of the local false discovery rates (lfdr). We prove that by using a step-up procedure on the estimated lfdr, we can achieve asymptotic false discovery rate control at a pre-determined level. Numerical experiments validate the effectiveness of our approach compared to existing methods.

The versatility and adaptability of human grasping catalyze advancing dexterous robotic manipulation. While significant strides have been made in dexterous grasp generation, current research endeavors pivot towards optimizing object manipulation while ensuring functional integrity, emphasizing the synthesis of functional grasps following desired affordance instructions. This paper addresses the challenge of synthesizing functional grasps tailored to diverse dexterous robotic hands by proposing DexGrasp-Diffusion, an end-to-end modularized diffusion-based pipeline. DexGrasp-Diffusion integrates MultiHandDiffuser, a novel unified data-driven diffusion model for multi-dexterous hands grasp estimation, with DexDiscriminator, which employs a Physics Discriminator and a Functional Discriminator with open-vocabulary setting to filter physically plausible functional grasps based on object affordances. The experimental evaluation conducted on the MultiDex dataset provides substantiating evidence supporting the superior performance of MultiHandDiffuser over the baseline model in terms of success rate, grasp diversity, and collision depth. Moreover, we demonstrate the capacity of DexGrasp-Diffusion to reliably generate functional grasps for household objects aligned with specific affordance instructions.

In rare-earth-based frustrated magnets, the synergistic interplay between spin correlations, spin-orbit coupling and competing exchange interactions provide a promising route to realize exotic quantum states with nontrivial excitations. Here, through thermodynamic and local-probe measurements down to 16 mK, we demonstrate the exotic magnetism and spin dynamics in the nearly perfect emergent honeycomb lattice antiferromagnet TbBO3. The latter embodies a frustrated lattice with a superimposed triangular lattice, constituted by additional Tb3+ ions at the center of each hexagon. Thermodynamic experiments reveal the presence of dominant antiferromagnetic interactions with no indications of either long-range order or spin freezing down to 50 mK. Despite sizable antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between the Tb3+ moments, muon-spin relaxation does not detect any signatures of long-range magnetic order or spin-freezing down to 16 mK. This suggests that the spin-orbit-driven anisotropic exchange interaction engenders a strong frustration, crucial to induce persistent spin dynamics. The specific-heat data exhibit a T^2.2 power-law behavior at low temperatures, suggesting gapless excitations consistent with theoretical predictions. The scaling of muon relaxation rate as a function of the characteristic energy scale for several spin-liquid candidates, including TbBO3, demonstrates a thermally activated behavior. This is consistent with NMR results on TbBO3 and reminiscent of a universal QSL behavior, here attributed to short-range spin correlations. Our experimental results are supported by density functional theory + Hubbard U and crystal electric-field calculations, which propose TbBO3 as a promising platform to realize the theoretically proposed quantum disorder state in an anisotropy-driven frustrated honeycomb lattice.

Chiral carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are direct-gap semiconductors with optical properties governed by one-dimensional excitons with enormous oscillator strengths. Each species of chiral CNTs has an enantiomeric pair of left- and right-handed CNTs with nearly identical properties, but enantiomer-dependent phenomena can emerge, especially in nonlinear optical processes. Theoretical studies have predicted strong second-order nonlinearities for chiral CNTs, but there has been no experimental verification due to the lack of macroscopically ordered assemblies of single-enantiomer chiral CNTs. Here for the first time, we report the synthesis of centimeter-scale films of densely packed and aligned single-enantiomer chiral CNTs that exhibit micro-fabrication compatibility. We observe giant second harmonic generation (SHG) emission from the chiral CNT film, which originates from the intrinsic chirality and inversion symmetry breaking of the atomic structure of chiral CNTs. The observed value of the dominant element of the second-order nonlinear optical susceptibility tensor reaches $1.5\times 10^{3}$ pm/V at a pump wavelength of 1030 nm, corresponding to the lowest-energy excitonic resonance. Our calculations based on many-body theory correctly estimate the spectrum and magnitude of such excitonically enhanced optical nonlinearity. These results are promising for developing scalable chiral-CNT electronics, nonlinear photonics and photonic quantum computing.

In a PN junction, the separation between positive and negative charges leads to diode transport. In the past few years, the intrinsic diode transport in noncentrosymmetric polar conductors has attracted great interest, because it suggests novel nonlinear applications and provides a symmetry-sensitive probe of Fermi surface. Recently, such studies have been extended to noncentrosymmetric superconductors, realizing the superconducting diode effect. Here, we show that, even in a centrosymmetric crystal without directional charge separation, the spins of an antiferromagnet (AFM) can generate a spatial directionality, leading to an AFM diode effect. We observe large second-harmonic transport in a nonlinear electronic device enabled by the compensated AFM state of even-layered MnBi2Te4. We also report a novel electrical sum-frequency generation (SFG), which has been rarely explored in contrast to the well-known optical SFG in wide-gap insulators. We demonstrate that the AFM enables an in-plane field-effect transistor and harvesting of wireless electromagnetic energy. The electrical SFG establishes a powerful method to study nonlinear electronics built by quantum materials. Optical control of correlated electronic states promises unprecedented tunability of novel functional materials. Tailored optical excitations can steer a system along non-equilibrium pathways to metastable states with specific structural or electronic properties. A much-desired feature is the reproducible and ultrafast switching to functional states. The light-induced hidden state of 1T-TaS$_{2}$, with its strongly enhanced conductivity and exceptionally long lifetime, represents a unique model system for studying the switching of correlated electronic states using femtosecond optical stimuli. However, despite intense investigation, the switching mechanism and the structural origins of the distinctive electronic properties of the hidden state have not been fully uncovered. Here, we use surface-sensitive electron diffraction in combination with a femtosecond optical quench to reveal coexistent charge-density wave chiralities as a new structural feature of the hidden state. We find that a single-pulse optical quench produces a state with long-range structural order and different weights of the two chiral enantiomorphs of the charge-density wave. Harnessing a double-pulse optical quench, we trace the origin of the mixed chirality to the transient electronic excitation of the host crystal. The coexistent long-range-order of both chiralities suggests the presence of extended heterochiral charge-density wave interfaces, which results in a higher-level, fractal-type moir\'{e} superstructure. Density functional theory simulations for such a charge-density wave moir\'{e} superstructure reveal multiple flat bands, Dirac cones, and a kagome electronic subsystem around the Fermi energy. Our findings shed light on novel electronic properties gained by chiral interface engineering, and create avenues for light-induced moir\'{e} superstructures in quasi-two-dimensional materials.

Personalized subgraph Federated Learning (FL) is a task that customizes Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) to individual client needs, accommodating diverse data distributions. However, applying hypernetworks in FL, while aiming to facilitate model personalization, often encounters challenges due to inadequate representation of client-specific characteristics. To overcome these limitations, we propose a model called FedSheafHN, using enhanced collaboration graph embedding and efficient personalized model parameter generation. Specifically, our model embeds each client's local subgraph into a server-constructed collaboration graph. We utilize sheaf diffusion in the collaboration graph to learn client representations. Our model improves the integration and interpretation of complex client characteristics. Furthermore, our model ensures the generation of personalized models through advanced hypernetworks optimized for parallel operations across clients. Empirical evaluations demonstrate that FedSheafHN outperforms existing methods in most scenarios, in terms of client model performance on various graph-structured datasets. Computational marketing has become increasingly important in today's digital world, facing challenges such as massive heterogeneous data, multi-channel customer journeys, and limited marketing budgets. In this paper, we propose a general framework for marketing AI systems, the Neural Optimization with Adaptive Heuristics (NOAH) framework. NOAH is the first general framework for marketing optimization that considers both to-business (2B) and to-consumer (2C) products, as well as both owned and paid channels. We describe key modules of the NOAH framework, including prediction, optimization, and adaptive heuristics, providing examples for bidding and content optimization. We then detail the successful application of NOAH to LinkedIn's email marketing system, showcasing significant wins over the legacy ranking system. Additionally, we share details and insights that are broadly useful, particularly on: (i) addressing delayed feedback with lifetime value, (ii) performing large-scale linear programming with randomization, (iii) improving retrieval with audience expansion, (iv) reducing signal dilution in targeting tests, and (v) handling zero-inflated heavy-tail metrics in statistical testing., Comment: KDD 2024

This work introduces two novel neural spike detection schemes intended for use in next-generation neuromorphic brain-machine interfaces (iBMIs). The first, an Event-based Spike Detector (Ev-SPD) which examines the temporal neighborhood of a neural event for spike detection, is designed for in-vivo processing and offers high sensitivity and decent accuracy (94-97%). The second, Neural Network-based Spike Detector (NN-SPD) which operates on hybrid temporal event frames, provides an off-implant solution using shallow neural networks with impressive detection accuracy (96-99%) and minimal false detections. These methods are evaluated using a synthetic dataset with varying noise levels and validated through comparison with ground truth data. We introduce Vibe-Eval: a new open benchmark and framework for evaluating multimodal chat models. Vibe-Eval consists of 269 visual understanding prompts, including 100 of hard difficulty, complete with gold-standard responses authored by experts. Vibe-Eval is open-ended and challenging with dual objectives: (i) vibe checking multimodal chat models for day-to-day tasks and (ii) rigorously testing and probing the capabilities of present frontier models. Notably, our hard set contains >50% questions that all frontier models answer incorrectly. We explore the nuances of designing, evaluating, and ranking models on ultra challenging prompts. We also discuss trade-offs between human and automatic evaluation, and show that automatic model evaluation using Reka Core roughly correlates to human judgment. We offer free API access for the purpose of lightweight evaluation and plan to conduct formal human evaluations for public models that perform well on the Vibe-Eval's automatic scores. We introduce the FRactional-Order graph Neural Dynamical network (FROND), a new continuous graph neural network (GNN) framework. Unlike traditional continuous GNNs that rely on integer-order differential equations, FROND employs the Caputo fractional derivative to leverage the non-local properties of fractional calculus. This approach enables the capture of long-term dependencies in feature updates, moving beyond the Markovian update mechanisms in conventional integer-order models and offering enhanced capabilities in graph representation learning. We offer an interpretation of the node feature updating process in FROND from a non-Markovian random walk perspective when the feature updating is particularly governed by a diffusion process. We demonstrate analytically that oversmoothing can be mitigated in this setting. Experimentally, we validate the FROND framework by comparing the fractional adaptations of various established integer-order continuous GNNs, demonstrating their consistently improved performance and underscoring the framework's potential as an effective extension to enhance traditional continuous GNNs. Auto-labeling is an important family of techniques that produce labeled training sets with minimum manual labeling. A prominent variant, threshold-based auto-labeling (TBAL), works by finding a threshold on a model's confidence scores above which it can accurately label unlabeled data points. However, many models are known to produce overconfident scores, leading to poor TBAL performance. While a natural idea is to apply off-the-shelf calibration methods to alleviate the overconfidence issue, such methods still fall short. Rather than experimenting with ad-hoc choices of confidence functions, we propose a framework for studying the \emph{optimal} TBAL confidence function. We develop a tractable version of the framework to obtain \texttt{Colander} (Confidence functions for Efficient and Reliable Auto-labeling), a new post-hoc method specifically designed to maximize performance in TBAL systems. We perform an extensive empirical evaluation of our method \texttt{Colander} and compare it against methods designed for calibration. \texttt{Colander} achieves up to 60\% improvements on coverage over the baselines while maintaining auto-labeling error below $5\%$ and using the same amount of labeled data as the baselines.

Point cloud registration is a fundamental technique in 3-D computer vision with applications in graphics, autonomous driving, and robotics. However, registration tasks under challenging conditions, under which noise or perturbations are prevalent, can be difficult. We propose a robust point cloud registration approach that leverages graph neural partial differential equations (PDEs) and heat kernel signatures. Our method first uses graph neural PDE modules to extract high dimensional features from point clouds by aggregating information from the 3-D point neighborhood, thereby enhancing the robustness of the feature representations. Then, we incorporate heat kernel signatures into an attention mechanism to efficiently obtain corresponding keypoints. Finally, a singular value decomposition (SVD) module with learnable weights is used to predict the transformation between two point clouds. Empirical experiments on a 3-D point cloud dataset demonstrate that our approach not only achieves state-of-the-art performance for point cloud registration but also exhibits better robustness to additive noise or 3-D shape perturbations., Comment: Accepted by IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing

We introduce Reka Core, Flash, and Edge, a series of powerful multimodal language models trained from scratch by Reka. Reka models are able to process and reason with text, images, video, and audio inputs. This technical report discusses details of training some of these models and provides comprehensive evaluation results. We show that Reka Edge and Reka Flash are not only state-of-the-art but also outperform many much larger models, delivering outsized values for their respective compute class. Meanwhile, our most capable and largest model, Reka Core, approaches the best frontier models on both automatic evaluations and blind human evaluations. On image question answering benchmarks (e.g. MMMU, VQAv2), Core performs competitively to GPT4-V. Meanwhile, on multimodal chat, Core ranks as the second most preferred model under a blind third-party human evaluation setup, outperforming other models such as Claude 3 Opus. On text benchmarks, Core not only performs competitively to other frontier models on a set of well-established benchmarks (e.g. MMLU, GSM8K) but also outperforms GPT4-0613 on human evaluation. In the realm of robotic grasping, achieving accurate and reliable interactions with the environment is a pivotal challenge. Traditional methods of grasp planning methods utilizing partial point clouds derived from depth image often suffer from reduced scene understanding due to occlusion, ultimately impeding their grasping accuracy. Furthermore, scene reconstruction methods have primarily relied upon static techniques, which are susceptible to environment change during manipulation process limits their efficacy in real-time grasping tasks. To address these limitations, this paper introduces a novel two-stage pipeline for dynamic scene reconstruction. In the first stage, our approach takes scene scanning as input to register each target object with mesh reconstruction and novel object pose tracking. In the second stage, pose tracking is still performed to provide object poses in real-time, enabling our approach to transform the reconstructed object point clouds back into the scene. Unlike conventional methodologies, which rely on static scene snapshots, our method continuously captures the evolving scene geometry, resulting in a comprehensive and up-to-date point cloud representation. By circumventing the constraints posed by occlusion, our method enhances the overall grasp planning process and empowers state-of-the-art 6-DoF robotic grasping algorithms to exhibit markedly improved accuracy., Comment: ICRA 2024

Magnetic topological materials with coexisting magnetism and non-trivial band structures exhibit many novel quantum phenomena, including the quantum anomalous Hall effect, the axion insulator state, and the Weyl semimetal phase. As a stoichiometric layered antiferromagnetic topological insulator, thin films of MnBi2Te4 show fascinating even-odd layer-dependent physics. In this work, we fabricate a series of thin-flake MnBi2Te4 devices using stencil masks and observe the Chern insulator state at high magnetic fields and a square hysteresis loop near zero magnetic field in all these devices. Upon magnetic field training, a large exchange bias effect is observed in odd but not in even septuple layer (SL) devices. Our theoretical calculations interpret this even-odd layer-dependent exchange bias effect as a consequence of contrasting surface and bulk magnetic properties of MnBi2Te4 devices. Our findings reveal the microscopic magnetic configuration of MnBi2Te4 thin flakes and highlight the challenges in replicating the zero magnetic field quantum anomalous Hall effect in odd SL MnBi2Te4 devices., Comment: 23 pages, 4 figures, comments are very much welcome

Granular metals offer tailorable electronic properties and play crucial roles in device and sensor applications. We have fabricated a series of nonmagnetic granular CoSi2 thin films and studied the Hall effect and transport properties. We observed a two orders of magnitude enhancement in the Hall coefficient in films fall slightly above the metal-insulator transition. This giant Hall effect (GHE) is ascribed to the local quantum-interference effect induced reduction of the charge carriers. Transmission electron microscopy images and transport properties indicate that our films form two dimensional granular arrays. We present Envision3D, a novel method for efficiently generating high-quality 3D content from a single image. Recent methods that extract 3D content from multi-view images generated by diffusion models show great potential. However, it is still challenging for diffusion models to generate dense multi-view consistent images, which is crucial for the quality of 3D content extraction. To address this issue, we propose a novel cascade diffusion framework, which decomposes the challenging dense views generation task into two tractable stages, namely anchor views generation and anchor views interpolation. In the first stage, we train the image diffusion model to generate global consistent anchor views conditioning on image-normal pairs. Subsequently, leveraging our video diffusion model fine-tuned on consecutive multi-view images, we conduct interpolation on the previous anchor views to generate extra dense views. This framework yields dense, multi-view consistent images, providing comprehensive 3D information. To further enhance the overall generation quality, we introduce a coarse-to-fine sampling strategy for the reconstruction algorithm to robustly extract textured meshes from the generated dense images. Electronic liquid crystal (ELC) phases are spontaneous symmetry breaking states believed to arise from strong electron correlation in quantum materials such as cuprates and iron pnictides. Here, we report a direct observation of ELC phases in a Dirac nodal line (DNL) semimetal GdSbxTe2-x. Electronic nanostructures consisting of incommensurate smectic charge modulation and intense local nematic order are visualized by using spectroscopic imaging - scanning tunneling microscopy. As topological materials with symmetry protected Dirac or Weyl fermions are mostly weakly correlated, the discovery of such ELC phases are anomalous and raise questions on the origin of their emergence. Specifically, we demonstrate how chemical substitution generates these symmetry breaking phases before the system undergoes a charge density wave - orthorhombic structural transition. We further show how dopants can induce nematicity via quasiparticle scattering interference. Our results highlight the importance of impurities in realizing ELC phases and present a new material platform for exploring the interplay among quenched disorder, topology and electron correlation.

Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) has revolutionized the field of NMR spectroscopy, expanding its reach and capabilities to investigate diverse materials, biomolecules, and complex dynamic processes. Bringing high-efficiency DNP to the nanometer scale would open new avenues for studying nanoscale nuclear spin ensembles, such as single biomolecules, virus particles, and condensed matter systems. Combining pulsed DNP with nanoscale force-detected magnetic resonance measurements, we demonstrated a 100-fold enhancement in the Boltzmann polarization of proton spins in nanoscale sugar droplets at 6 K and 0.33 T. Crucially, this enhancement corresponds to a factor of 200 reduction in the averaging time compared to measurements that rely on the detection of statistical fluctuations in nanoscale nuclear spin ensembles. We report observations of unusual normal-state electronic conduction properties and superconducting characteristics of high-quality CoSi$_2$/Si films grown on silicon Si(100) and Si(111) substrates. A good understanding of these features shall help to address the underlying physics of the unconventional pairing symmetry recently observed in transparent CoSi$_2$/TiSi$_2$ heterojunctions [S. P. Chiu \textit{et al.}, Sci. Adv. \textbf{7}, eabg6569 (2021); Nanoscale \textbf{15}, 9179 (2023)], where CoSi$_2$/Si is a superconductor with a superconducting transition temperature $T_c \simeq$ (1.1--1.5) K, dependent on its dimensions, and TiSi$_2$ is a normal metal. In CoSi$_2$/Si films, we find a pronounced positive magnetoresistance caused by the weak-antilocalization effect, indicating a strong Rashba spin-orbit coupling (SOC). This SOC generates two-component superconductivity in CoSi$_2$/TiSi$_2$ heterojunctions. The CoSi$_2$/Si films are stable under ambient conditions and have ultralow 1/$f$ noise. The 2019 edition of Stack Overflow developer survey highlights that, for the first time, Python outperformed Java in terms of popularity. The gap between Python and Java further widened in the 2020 edition of the survey. Unfortunately, despite the rapid increase in Python's popularity, there are not many testing and debugging tools that are designed for Python. This is in stark contrast with the abundance of testing and debugging tools for Java. Thus, there is a need to push research on tools that can help Python developers. One factor that contributed to the rapid growth of Java testing and debugging tools is the availability of benchmarks. A popular benchmark is the Defects4J benchmark; its initial version contained 357 real bugs from 5 real-world Java programs. Each bug comes with a test suite that can expose the bug. Defects4J has been used by hundreds of testing and debugging studies and has helped to push the frontier of research in these directions. In this project, inspired by Defects4J, we create another benchmark database and tool that contain 493 real bugs from 17 real-world Python programs. We hope our benchmark can help catalyze future work on testing and debugging tools that work on Python programs.

The two-dimensional quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) effect is direct evidence of non-trivial Berry curvature topology in condensed matter physics. Searching for QAH in 2D materials, particularly with simplified fabrication methods, poses a significant challenge in future applications. Despite numerous theoretical works proposed for the QAH effect with $C=2$ in graphene, neglecting magnetism sources such as proper substrate effects remain experimental evidence absent. In this work, we propose the QAH effect in graphene/$\rm MnBi_{2}Te_{4}$ (MBT) heterostructure based on density-functional theory (DFT). The monolayer MBT introduces spin-orbital coupling, Zeeman exchange field, and Kekul$\rm \acute{e}$ distortion as a substrate effect into graphene, resulting in QAH with $C=1$ in the heterostructure. Our effective Hamiltonian further presents a rich phase diagram that has not been studied previously. Our work provides a new and practical way to explore the QAH effect in monolayer graphene and the magnetic topological phases by the flexibility of MBT family materials.

Although affective expressions of individuals have been extensively studied using social media, research has primarily focused on the Western context. There are substantial differences among cultures that contribute to their affective expressions. This paper examines the differences between Twitter (X) in the United States and Sina Weibo posts in China on two primary dimensions of affect - valence and arousal. We study the difference in the functional relationship between arousal and valence (so-called V-shaped) among individuals in the US and China and explore the associated content differences. Furthermore, we correlate word usage and topics in both platforms to interpret their differences. We observe that for Twitter users, the variation in emotional intensity is less distinct between negative and positive emotions compared to Weibo users, and there is a sharper escalation in arousal corresponding with heightened emotions. From language features, we discover that affective expressions are associated with personal life and feelings on Twitter, while on Weibo such discussions are about socio-political topics in the society. These results suggest a West-East difference in the V-shaped relationship between valence and arousal of affective expressions on social media influenced by content differences. In this work, we rigorously investigate the robustness of graph neural fractional-order differential equation (FDE) models. This framework extends beyond traditional graph neural (integer-order) ordinary differential equation (ODE) models by implementing the time-fractional Caputo derivative. Utilizing fractional calculus allows our model to consider long-term memory during the feature updating process, diverging from the memoryless Markovian updates seen in traditional graph neural ODE models. The superiority of graph neural FDE models over graph neural ODE models has been established in environments free from attacks or perturbations. While traditional graph neural ODE models have been verified to possess a degree of stability and resilience in the presence of adversarial attacks in existing literature, the robustness of graph neural FDE models, especially under adversarial conditions, remains largely unexplored. This paper undertakes a detailed assessment of the robustness of graph neural FDE models. We establish a theoretical foundation outlining the robustness characteristics of graph neural FDE models, highlighting that they maintain more stringent output perturbation bounds in the face of input and graph topology disturbances, compared to their integer-order counterparts. Point cloud registration is a crucial technique in 3D computer vision with a wide range of applications. However, this task can be challenging, particularly in large fields of view with dynamic objects, environmental noise, or other perturbations. To address this challenge, we propose a model called PosDiffNet. Our approach performs hierarchical registration based on window-level, patch-level, and point-level correspondence. We leverage a graph neural partial differential equation (PDE) based on Beltrami flow to obtain high-dimensional features and position embeddings for point clouds. We incorporate position embeddings into a Transformer module based on a neural ordinary differential equation (ODE) to efficiently represent patches within points. We employ the multi-level correspondence derived from the high feature similarity scores to facilitate alignment between point clouds. Subsequently, we use registration methods such as SVD-based algorithms to predict the transformation using corresponding point pairs. We evaluate PosDiffNet on several 3D point cloud datasets, verifying that it achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance for point cloud registration in large fields of view with perturbations. We propose an approach for curating multimodal data that we used for our entry in the 2023 DataComp competition filtering track. Our technique combines object detection and weak supervision-based ensembling. In the first of two steps in our approach, we employ an out-of-the-box zero-shot object detection model to extract granular information and produce a variety of filter designs. In the second step, we employ weak supervision to ensemble filtering rules. This approach results in a 4% performance improvement when compared to the best-performing baseline, producing the top-ranking position in the small scale track at the time of writing.
