A case of primary right ureteral squamous cell carcinoma with intraperitoneal invasion was studied. The patient was a 38-year-old male with chief complaints of right lumbago and gross hematuria. He was admitted to our clinic suspected of having calculi. However, the radiogram was negative. As the patient was suffering from severe hypogastric pain, indicating acute abdomen, an investigative celiotomy was performed. The tumor that was subsequently revealed formed a mass engulfing the furcation of the right internal and external iliac arteries, ureter, ileum and sigmoid colon. As a radical resection was considered impossible, as much of the tumor as possible was excised and a colostomy was performed. After the operation, a regimen of polypharmacy, including bleomycin, was administered against the residual tumor. This therapy has proved to be remarkably effective. At present, the patient is under regular medical observation, and the postoperative course has been favorable.

1 Medical follow-up studies on urinary tract injuries due to traffic accidents in Japan were attempted. The traffic police statistics were of little help for this purpose. 2 Recently, traffic accident has been increasing its significance as a cause of urinary tract injuries in Japan. At the present time, about fifty per cent of the injuries are estimated due to traffic accident. 3 In Japan, the pedestrians are the first victims followed by the motorcycle riders. 4 In Japan, injury of the urethra associated with pelvic fracture comes to the first place. 5 Complicated urinary tract injury due to traffic accident often results in the intractable urinary fistula formation. Tissue viability test with alphazurine 2-G (Patent Blue) was helpful in one case to remove the devitalized scar tissue caused by urinary extravasation, thus promoting spontaneous closure of the fistula. 6 An experiment on rupture of the kidney, bladder, testis, liver and spleen was carried out to test their vulnerability. The first three organs were more resistant than the liver and spleen.

Histochemical changes of lactic dehydrogenase activity according to aging were studied on the seminal vesicles of guinea pigs. The effect on lactic dehydrogenase activity of androgen injections, estrogen injections, castration, castration followed by androgen injections, and castration followed by estrogen injections were studied in the seminal vesicles of immature and mature gt]'inea pigs. The relation between lactic dehydrogenase activity of the seminal vesicle and size of the testes was studied in some of the human materials. Acid and alkaline phosphatase of the seminal vesicles of guinea pig and man were stained, and the distribution of lactic dehydrogenase was compared with those of acid and alkaline phosphatase. The results are summarized as follows. 1) Positive correlation was found between lactic dehydrogenase activity of the seminal vesicle epithelium and androgen activity in guinea pig. 2) Positive correlation was found between size of testis and lactic dehydrogenase of the human seminal vesicle epithelium. 3) On estrogen administration, lactic dehydrogenase of the seminal vesicles was markedly decreased in guinea pig. 4) The distribution of lactic dehydrogenase in the human seminal vesicle was similar to that of guinea pig, but the distribution of acid and alkaline phosphatase in the former differed from those of the latter.

Drip infusion pyelography with a use of Conra y , described by Schencker, was applied to our patients and the following advantages were obtained. 1) The shape of renal pelvis and calyx was d e nsely and clearly outlined. 2) The ureter was sufficiently traced. 3) Retrograde pyelography was a ble to be omitted in some cases because of the above advantages. 4) In addition, the urinary bladder and urethra were simultaneously delineated, so that so-called total urinary tract radiography was possible to do. 5) Dynamic renal function was easy to be observed. 6) It was useful to evaluate renal vascular a lterations with simultaneous use of wash out technic. 7 ) No distress was inflicted on patients because of unnecessary specific body position or application of belt.
