Chronic stress is an important factor for depression. Most individuals recover from stress, while some develop into depression. The pathogenesis of resilience or susceptibility remains unclear. Stress activates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and releases stress hormones to regulate individual response to stress. Hence, we assessed the effects of chronic social defeat stress (CSDS) on susceptible behaviors, plasma corticosterone (CORT) concentration, glucocorticoid receptor (GR) expressions in hippocampus and medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC). Mice that plasma CORT concentration is increased 2 h after single social defeat stress developed into susceptible mice after 10 d social defeat stress. The plasma CORT concentration was still higher than that of resilient mice 48 h after the last defeat stress. Mice administered CORT via drinking water showed susceptibility. Mifepristone, a GR antagonist improved susceptibility to chronic stress. Single dose ketamine treatment improved depressive-like behaviors, decreased plasma CORT concentration, rescued GR expression and nuclear translocation in the hippocampus of susceptible mice. These results suggested that abnormal CORT concentration after stress may predict susceptibility to depression in clinic. The objective of the present study is to develop a method for rapid determination of the content of stevioside (ST) and rebaudioside A (RA) in Stevia Rebaudiana leaves. One hundred and five samples of stevia from different areas containing ST of 0.27%-1.40% and RA of 0.61%-3.98% were used. The 105 groups' NIRS diagram was processed by different methods including subtracting a straight line (SLS), multiplicative scatter correction (MSC), first derivative (FD), second derivative (SD) and so on, and then all data were analyzed by partial least square (PLS). The study showed that SLS can be used to extracted spectra information thoroughly to analyze the contents of ST, the correlation coefficients of calibration (Re), the root-mean-square errors of calibration (RMSEC) and prediction (RMSEP), and the residual predictive deviation (RPD) were 0.986, 0.341, 1.00 and 2.8, respectively. The correlation coefficients of RA was 0.967, RMSEC was 1.50, RMSEP was 1.98 and RPD was 4.17. The results indicated that near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technique offers effective quantitative capability for ST and RA in Stevia Rebaudiana leaves. Then the model of stevia dried leaves was used to compare with the stevia powder near infrared model whose correlation coefficients of ST was 0.986, RMSEC was 0.32, RMSEP was 0.601 and RPD was 2.86 and the correlation coefficients of RA was 0.968, RMSEC was 1.50, RMSEP was 1.48 and RPD was 4.2. The result showed that there was no significant difference between the model of dried leaves and that of the powders. However, the dried leaves NIR model reduces the unnecessary the steps of drying and grinding in the actual detection process, saving the time and reducing the workload.

Objective: To investigate the therapeutic methods of nonresectable advanced hepatic alveolar echinococcosis., Methods: A retrospective study was carried out to analyze 25 cases of nonresectable advanced hepatic alveolar echinococcosis in the Fourth Hospital of PLA from 2006 to 2009., Results: There were 18 male and 7 female patients with a mean age of 41 years. Twelve cases were treated with albendazole alone. Eleven patients were treated with albendazole combined with percutaneous puncture. Two cases were treated with albendazole combined with other intervention. A course of albendazole administration lasted 2 weeks with a dose of 15-20 mg/(kg x d) for 3 course in general. Eighteen patients were followed up for 1-4 years. In albendazole group, 2 cases were effective and 7 cases were symptom-improved. Five patients got improved and 2 cases showed effective in albendazole combined with percutaneous puncture group. Two cases of albendazole combined with intervention group showed no efficacy., Conclusions: Long-term use of albendazole is the main treatment for nonresectable advanced hepatic alveolar echinococcosis.

Three-dimensional time-dependent quantum wave packet calculation for the O((1)D)+HBr reaction has been carried out using an accurate ab initio global potential energy surface [K. A. Peterson, J. Chem. Phys. 113, 4598 (2000)]. The calculations show that the initial state-selected reaction probabilities are dominated by resonance structures, and the lifetime of the resonance is generally in the subpicosecond time scale. The energy dependence of the reaction cross section is computed, which manifests still resonance structures, and is a decreasing function of the translational energy. The thermal rate constants are also computed, which are nearly independent on the temperature. The antimycobacterial activities of two newer ansamycins, isobutylpiperazinylrifamycin SV (R-76-1) and cyclopentylrifamycin SV (DL 473), were compared with those of rifampin (RMP) both in vitro and in vivo. In terms of minimal inhibitory concentrations against a number of cultivable mycobacteria, R-76-1 was about eight times more active in vitro than RMP; whereas DL 473 was only slightly more active than RMP. Therapeutic activities of R-76-1 versus RMP and DL 473 versus RMP were compared, respectively, in the experimental infection of mice with Mycobacterium lepraemurium by different treatment schedules (immediate and delayed) and dosage regimens. R-76-1 appeared to have been three times more effective than RMP; DL 473 was also more effective than RMP in that an equivalent therapeutic effect could be obtained by fewer doses of DL 473 than of RMP, and in that DL 473 exerted a more prolonged activity than RMP. With the kinetic method and a dosage of 0.001% in the diet, R-76-1 demonstrated a bactericidal-type effect against M. leprae whereas RMP did not; with the proportional bactericidal method, R-76-1 possessed about three times the bactericidal activity of RMP against M. leprae. When drugs were administered once in 4 weeks, the RMP dose required to prevent multiplication of M. leprae in the foot pads of half of the mice was in the range of 1.25 to 2.5 mg/kg; whereas that of DL 473 was less than 0.625 mg/kg. With the proportional bactericidal method, even a single dose of 1.25 mg DL 473 per kg was active against M. leprae; whereas the smallest single active dose of RMP was 10 mg/kg. DL 473 in single doses of 5 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg was significantly more effective than RMP in equal doses and, among the intermittent regimens administered four times, once every 4 weeks, no significant differences of bactericidal activity were observed between RMP at 20 mg/kg and DL 473 at 0.625 mg/kg. A preliminary clinical trial of R-76-1 in 20 patients with lepromatous leprosy showed that the compound, administered in a dosage of 150 mg daily, was very effective.
