Programmed cell death is an important biological process, including apoptosis, autophagy and other modalities, which is essential for maintaining homeostasis of tissue and organ. In recent years, several studies have shown that aberrant regulation of programmed cell death plays an important role in the development of colorectal cancer. Therefore, it is important to reveal the fine-turned regulatory network of programmed cell death in colorectal carcinogenesis and progression to develop new clinical treatment strategies for colorectal cancer. This paper aims to review the research progress of programmed cell death in colorectal cancer, and provide new ideas and approaches for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer.

The synergistic effect of pollution and carbon reduction can alleviate the dual pressure of improving environmental quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in China. The carbon emission trading scheme (CETS) is a crucial market-based tool for carbon emission reduction, and understanding its synergistic impact on air pollution control is essential. Based on data from 30 provincial panels in China spanning from 2007 to 2021, we employ the difference-in-differences (DID) method to analyze the synergistic effects of the carbon emission trading plan in the power industry and its influence mechanisms are examined. We observe that the CETS significantly enhances both pollution and carbon reduction in China's power sector, particularly demonstrating effective synergy in reducing CO2, SO2, and PM2.5 emissions. Furthermore, mechanism analysis reveals that the CETS achieves joint emission reductions by lowering energy consumption, influencing the power industry's generation structure, promoting technological innovation among enterprises, and thereby realizing synergistic pollution and carbon reduction effects in China's power sector. Heterogeneity analysis shows that regions with limited power facility, low electricity generation, and small economic scale exhibit the most pronounced synergistic benefits from pollution and carbon reduction efforts. In light of the growing demand for green and low-carbon development, the advancement of low-carbon agriculture in alignment with China's specific national circumstances is imminent. Given this urgency, the accounting of non-CO2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in China's agricultural system is still in the process of continuous research and improvement. Therefore, in this paper, we present an account of agricultural non-CO2 GHG emissions in Southwest China from 1995 to 2021, based on the carbon emission coefficient method. Furthermore, we explore the extent of the influence of the drivers and the relationship with economic development, utilizing the Stochastic Impact of Regression of Population, Affluence, and Technology (STIRPAT) model and the Tapio model. We observe a general trend of increasing and then decreasing non-CO2 GHG emissions from agriculture in the Southwest region, with a pattern of higher in the center and lower in the east and west. Economic, demographic, structural, and technological levels show different degrees of impact in different provinces, favoring the development of targeted agricultural planning policies in each region. For the majority of the study period, there was a weak or strong decoupling between economic growth and GHG emissions. Finally, recommendations are made to promote low-carbon agricultural development in Southwest China, providing a database and policy support to clarify the GHG contribution of the agricultural system. This article discusses the dysbiosis of the oral-gut microbiome in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and its implications for noninvasive diagnosis. PCOS is a common reproductive endocrine disorder that affects women of reproductive age. The study analyzed the oral and gut microbiome of PCOS patients and healthy controls and identified differences in microbial composition and functionality between the two groups. The findings suggest that the oral and gut microbiota may serve as potential predictive markers for PCOS diagnosis, and combining microbial indicators with clinical indices can optimize the accuracy of PCOS discrimination. Context: During the menopausal transition, there is a greater likelihood of the prevalence of various bothersome symptoms, including vasomotor symptoms (VMS) and mood symptoms.Objective: To investigate the association among bothersome VMS and symptoms of anxiety and depression in Chinese women during perimenopause and early in menopause.Design, Patients, Setting, and Interventions: This study included 430 midlife Chinese women who had experienced natural menopause and were followed up for 10 years. A structured questionnaire was provided annually, comprising the VMS Bother Score (range 1-8) from the Menopause-Specific Quality of Life questionnaire, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and other physical and behavioral factors.Results: Among the 430 women evaluated, 78.8% had experienced VMS during long-term follow-up. The overall level of VMS bother score was relatively low (1.92 ± 1.32). Both anxiety and depressive symptoms were significantly associated with VMS bother. After adjusting for potential covariates, the association between anxiety or depression symptoms and VMS bother remained highly significant. Menopausal stage, body mass index, general health, follicle-stimulating hormone, and estradiol were independent contributors to VMS. In time-lagged (1-year) models, VMS bother scores significantly predicted the risk of symptoms of both anxiety and depression the following year. In contrast, anxiety symptoms, rather than depressive symptoms, could predict VMS bother the following year.Conclusion: The prevalence of VMS in our cohort was higher than has been previously reported; however, the overall level of bother was relatively low. Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the whether multi-tasking performance in (three-dimensional) 3D aid or impede cognition compare to (two-dimensional) 2D environments, as reflected by cognitive load. Specifically, we aim to examine the mechanism of multi-tasking under 3D (virtual reality [VR]) and 2D (PC monitor) conditions using the widely used Multi-Attribute Task Battery (MATB) II paradigm., Methodology: The MATB-II sub-tasks, namely "Tracking" and "System Monitoring," were conducted with varying task demands in both 3D conditions (Tracking Far - System Monitoring Near [TF-SN], Tracking Near - System Monitoring Far [TN-SF]) and a 2D condition with no depth perception (No Depth [ND]). Participants' cognitive load was assessed using subjective reporting (NASA-TLX) and physiological measure (root mean square of successive difference (RMSSD) of heart rate variability (HRV))., Results: The study found that performance was significantly better in the ND condition compared to the TF-SN and TN-SF conditions.
