Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary liver cancer, with more than 1 million deaths expected worldwide in 2030. Transhepatic arterial chemoembolization (TACE) is one of the most commonly used non-surgical therapeutic methods for HCC. Prompt discharge nursing planning is aimed to expand knowledge concerning TACE, promote self-care practices, improve clinical outcomes and minimize readmission. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of discharge plan on patient's outcomes TACE. Research design: A quasi experimental research design was used. Setting: The study was conducted in interventional radiology center and arterial catheterization at surgical Zagazig University Hospitals. The study sample composed of seventy adult patients, purposeful selected from both sexes. Tools: Four tools were utilized for data collection, pertinent as follow: Self-administered questionnaire, self-reported practice, assessment quality of life by using Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Hepatobiliary (FACTHep) version 4 and Patient's Outcomes Assessment Complications Questionnaire. Results: revealed that, majority of the studied patients were male, 41.4% aged from 50-60 years and 38.3% of studied patients made TACE before. There were statistically significant improvements in patients' knowledge, practice, therapeutic effect, quality of life and good outcome. Conclusion: the discharge plan had positive effect on improving patient's outcomes undergoing TACE through the enhancement of their knowledge and practices. Recommendations: Regular follow-up for all patients with HCC undergoing TACE to evaluate their health conditions, detect the complications early and improve their quality of life. Risk factors for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization are being older, small stature, obese, coexisting condition of hypertension, and or renal failure, use of large sheath, prolonged sheath time and excessive coagulation. Cardiac catheterization had several complications that embrace the following: infection, injury and pain at the Intra Venous site (IV) or sheath insertion site, blood clots and harming urinary organ may be occur because of the distinction dye that common in kidney disease and patients with Diabetes Mellitues (DM).Aim of the study: was to assess vascular complications and risk factors regarding patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. Design: A descriptive design was used. Setting: The study was conducted in Cardiac Care Units at Zagazig University Hospitals. Subjects: A convenient sample of 50 nurses and 50 patients were included in this study. Tools of data collection: Three tools were used; Interviewing questionnaire for nurses, observational checklist and Interviewing questionnaire for patients. Results: The present study clarified that 78% of the studied nurses had un satisfactory level of knowledge, and 66% of the studied nurses had satisfactory level of practice regarding cardiac catheterization. The present study clarified that 100% of the studied patients were hypertensive, 90 % were MI, 88% were Diabetic and had high cholesterol level,74% were smokers and 48 % of studied patients were obese, the present study clarified that 54% of patients had arterial occlusion before sheath removal and 12% of the studied patients had pseudoaneurysm after sheath removal. Conclusion: It can be concluded that more than three quarter of the studied nurses had un satisfactory level of knowledge regarding vascular complications and risk factors for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, more than two third of them had satisfactory level of practice regarding care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. The most common risk factors for studied patients were hypertension, MI, high cholesterol level, DM, smoking and obesity. The most common vascular complications for studied patients were arterial occlusion, heart attack, stroke, arrhythmias, hematoma, femoral hematoma, pseudoaneurysm, and groin infection before sheath removal. Recommendation: Updating knowledge and practice of ICU nurses through carrying out continuing educational programs regarding complications & risk factors for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. Background: Obesity is abnormal or excessive fat accumulation linked to increased risk of developing a range of life-limiting illnesses, including heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes. Physical wellbeing Is the ability to maintain a healthy quality of life that allows us to get the most out of our daily activities without undue fatigue or physical stress Aim of the study: To assess the effect of obesity on nurses performance and physical wellbeing at Zagazig University Hospitals. Research design: A descriptive design was used. Setting: The study was conducted at Zagazig University Hospitals Subjects: Purposive sample of 80 nurses working at Zagazig University Hospitals. Tools of data collection: Three tools were used for collecting data include an interviewing questionnaire to collect demographic characteristics of the study nurses, questionnaire to evaluate the effect of obesity on physical wellbeing and oswestry Disability Index questionnaire. Results: Shows that 55%of the studied nurses had satisfactory knowledge about obesity.82.5% of the studied nurses obesity affects their total practice.77.5% of the studied nurses obesity affects their total physical well-being.47.5% of the studied nurses had moderate disability. Also, 22.5% of the studied nurses had minimal disability. While, 20% of nurses had severe disability and 10% had crippling back pain. Conclusion: this study can be concluded that more than half of the studied nurses had satisfactory knowledge about obesity, majority of the studied nurses obesity affects their total practice and more than three quarters of the studied nurses obesity affects their total physical well-being. There was significant positive correlation between effect of obesity on nurses’ practice and physical well-being and permanent functional disability. Recommendation: Educational programs should be held periodically for nurses on obesity and negative effect of it on their work life, Urgent training program is required to support nurses to achieve and maintain a healthy weight, Further study is recommended to assess predisposing factor caused obesity among nurses. The prime objective of this study was to assess the factors affecting prevention of joint contracture in Egyptian burn patients. About 30% of patients under study were females; males respectively; 61.8% of them were married. Also 80% of studied patients are living in rural areas. The studied patients had unsatisfactory levels of both knowledge and practice regarding prevention of joint contracture. It was showed herein that Physical factors as complications at site of burn as infection, minimal physical exercise, minimal joint support, minimal skin graft, and no regular physiotherapy, Psychological factors as Fear from pain associated with physiotherapy, Fear from occurrence of deformity, and feeling by depression from shape of burn are the important factors needed to decrease burns among Egyptian patients. There was a statistical significant relation between unsatisfactory level of patient knowledge and age (p=0.008), level of education (p=0.022) and occupation (p=0.016). A statistical significant relation between unsatisfactory knowledge and satisfactory level of practice regarding when someone exposed to burn (p=0.016). Also, there was a statistical significant relation between unsatisfactory level of practice and knowledge regarding Skin layers (p=0.024), Outer layers of skin (p=0.006) and Inner layer of skin (p=0.006) and sign of infection (p=0.026). Background: Diabetic Foot Care Behaviors (DFCB) are the essential constituents of diabetic foot difficulties avoidance. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of self-management maintenance programs on refining diabetic foot care behaviors in patients with diabetes mellitus at Zagazig University Hospital. A quasi experimental study design was used in this research. The purposive sample included 70 patients with a diabetic foot. The patients were allocated randomly to either the control (n = 35) or the study (n = 35) group using the matched criteria of the foot ulcer history and foot problems. Two tools were used for the collection of data, the patient assessment Questionnaire and the Diabetic Foot Care Behaviors Questionnaire. Results: The study findings revealed that sixty (60.0%) of the patients in the observed and control groups were males and more than 40 years of age with Mean±SD (52.7±8.8 and 53.5±7.8 respectively), there was a statistically significant relationship between the patients' knowledge and practice, where more than three quarters (89.6%) of the patients had unsatisfactory knowledge and inadequate practice. All of the patients in the study group gained the adequate practice related to the foot-care after the intervention. While more than half of the patients (60.0%) in the control group who had no intervention, had the inadequate practice related to the foot-care with p value (<0.001*). Conclusion: The selfmanagement support program showed improvements in patients' knowledge which reflected the improvements in their practice and diabetic foot care behaviors in the post phase. Also, there was a positive correlation between the foot care score and the knowledge score as well as the practice score. It was recommended that, the doctors in the diabetic clinics should be encouraged to educate their patients, motivate them to do the monthly diabetic clinic visiting, and increase their awareness on the diabetic foot through using media, and continue follow up for the patients who are suffering from the diabetic foot, and increase the distribution of free handbooks that are specific for the diabetes in the public places in order to raise the patients' awareness and prevent the diabetic foot and its complications.
