3. Assessing the Coordination of Regional Water and Soil Resources and Ecological Environment System Based on Development Rate Characteristics

Abstract

The coordinated development of land and water resources and the ecological environment is essential to regional sustainable development. In view of the current rapid development of information science, the coordination degree of eco-environmental systems has been evaluated from the perspective of development rate. Taking the major grain-producing areas in China as an example, this study used information entropy to determine the weights of various indicators and introduced the average annual growth rate to characterize the development rates of indicators. Through an improved dynamic coupling and coordination model, the coupling and coordination indices of the system and subsystems of land and water resources with the ecological environment were obtained. These indices were analyzed and compared with those generated from raw data. The results showed that during the study period, the land and water resources and the ecological-environmental system had a relatively low coupling, with reluctant coordination, and had a relatively low level of coordinated development. Compared with the results based on raw data, the development rate method yielded similar results on the coupling of subsystems. For the analysis of trends, the method using development rate characteristics better reflected the overall coupling of the system, as well as the coordination of the system when considering the range of relative changes. Therefore, evaluation results based on development rate characteristics can, to a certain degree, better help decision-makers timely understand the coordinated development of the land and water resources and the ecological-environmental system.

The extent to which the matrix ratio can be reduced for the rapid-heating, quenching and transformation (RHQT) [Nb.sub.3]Al wires is discussed. The non-Cu [J.sub.c] is improved by about 20% by the reduction of the matrix ratio when compared to conventional [Nb.sub.3]Al wires.

Abstract

A low-matrix-ratio [Nb.sub.3]Al wire is fabricated and the effects of the rapid heating/quenching (RHQ) current and the area reduction (AR) after the RHQ process are studied. The studies have shown that the optimum RHQ current to obtain high [J.sub.c] is the current at the higher edge of the plateau region and the AR process has affected the transformation process that has determined the quality of the A-15 phase.

Abstract

An experiment is conducted to determine the critical current I(sub c) and n-values of (rapidly heating and quenching treatment) RHQT processed Nb3Al conductors at 4.2K in a wide range fields from 14.5 to 25T in relation to the microstructures obtained. The results indicate that the n-value increased monotonously with decreasing field from 25T to 18T, but got saturated to be around 35 at 4.2K in field less than 18T.

Describing a long length of RHQ operation that is done over 300m, a transformation annealing conditions that is suitable for a coil and the resultant transport properties of the long length of conductor and coils is reported. It indicates that a long-length of the RHQ processing over 300 m and subsequent Cu-cladding is uniformly performed so that a long-length of RHQT JRNb3Al conductor gets trustworthy for practical coil applications.

Abstract

An improved fabrication process where the wire diameter can be increased from 0.5 to 1.25 mm and the Nb-matrix ratio decreased from 1.5 to 0.52 without degrading the critical current density of Nb3Al phase was developed to enhance the current carrying capacity. To investigate the feasibility for large-scale applications, the compacted-strand-cables were fabricated. The results showed that flat-rolling and stranding the as-quenched Nb/Nb(Al)ss composite caused no degradation in J(sub c.).

Abstract

Molecular and morphological comparisons indicate that the Echinodermata and Hemichordata represent closely related sister-phyla within the Deuterostomia. Much less is known about the development of the hemichordates compared to other deuterostomes. For the first time, cell lineage analyses have been carried out for an indirect-developing representative of the enteropneust hemichordates, Ptychodera flava. Single blastomeres were iontophoretically labeled with Dil at the 2- through 16-cell stages, and their fates followed through development to the tornaria larval stage. The early cleavage pattern of P. flava is similar to that of the direct-developing hemichordate, Saccoglossus kowalevskii, as well as that displayed by indirect-developing echinoids. The 16-celled embryo contains eight animal "mesomeres," four slightly larger "macromeres," and four somewhat smaller vegetal "micromeres." The first cleavage plane was not found to bear one specific relationship relative to the larval dorsoventral axis. Although individual blastomeres generate discrete clones of cells, the appearance and exact locations of these clones are variable with respect to the embryonic dorsoventral and bilateral axes. The eight animal mesomeres generate anterior (animal) ectoderm of the larva, which includes the apical organ; however, contributions to the apical organ were found to be variable as only a subset of the animal blastomeres end up contributing to its formation and this varies from embryo to embryo. The macromeres generate posterior larval ectoderm, and the vegetal micromeres form all the internal, endomesodermal tissues. These blastomere contributions are similar to those found during development of the only other hemichordate studied, the direct-developing enteropneust, S. kowalevskii. Finally, isolated blastomeres prepared at either the two- or the four-cell stage are capable of forming normal-appearing, miniature tornaria larvae. These findings indicate that the fates of these cells and embryonic dorsoventral axial properties are not committed at these early stages of development. Comparisons with the developmental programs of other deuterostome phyla allow one to speculate on the conservation of some key developmental events/mechanisms and propose basal character states shared by the ancestor of echinoderms and hemichordates.
