This article introduces an artificial neural network (ANN) model to determine cycle-times for forming curved hull plates when the target shape is known. The proposed model aids shipbuilding companies in predicting the cycle-times required for ship fabrication. The input parameters are geometric information extracted from the target shape (curvedness, Gaussian curvature, width, and height of the hull plate), and the output parameter is the heating duration per unit area. The structure of the proposed model, which predicts cycle-times for line heating after the cold forming case, consists of two hidden layers. The proposed model is convenient to use and flexible because it only requires retraining when the dataset is changed. The performance of the proposed model was analyzed by five-fold cross-validation and compared with that of a mathematical model obtained from the linear regression analysis method and predefined formulas. The results show that the ANN model is reliable and accurate for the cycle-time prediction of curved hull plates in shipbuilding applications. Introduction Shipbuilding companies generally estimate the production cost of a ship based on their previous ships for various purposes before the production planning department begins to optimize the fabrication process. They use the estimated value to refine the overall fabrication process or improve it by reducing unnecessary tasks and maximize the overall production efficiency.

RNA base editing represents a promising alternative to genome editing. Recent approaches harness the endogenous RNA-editing enzyme adenosine deaminase acting on RNA (ADAR) to circumvent problems caused by ectopic expression of engineered editing enzymes, but suffer from sequence restriction, lack of efficiency and bystander editing. Here we present in silico-optimized CLUSTER guide RNAs that bind their target messenger RNAs in a multivalent fashion, achieve editing with high precision and efficiency and enable targeting of sequences that were not accessible using previous gRNA designs. CLUSTER gRNAs can be genetically encoded and delivered using viruses, and are active in a wide range of cell lines. In cell culture, CLUSTER gRNAs achieve on-target editing of endogenous transcripts with yields of up to 45% without bystander editing. In vivo, CLUSTER gRNAs delivered to mouse liver by hydrodynamic tail vein injection edited reporter constructs at rates of up to 10%. The CLUSTER approach opens avenues for drug development in the field of RNA base editing.

As the global pharmaceutical market continues to expand, the demand for pharmaceutical supply chain is increasing. In the context of “Industry 4.0”, the pharmaceutical supply chain sector needs to accelerate digital construction. Pharmaceutical companies need to strengthen risk management in order to cope with supply disruptions. From the perspective of sustainable development, the pharmaceutical supply chain can achieve sustainable supply performance in social, economic and environmental dimensions through digital transformation. There is a lack of research on digital transformation of pharmaceutical supply chain management. Further research is needed on what specific digital management pharmaceutical companies need to enhance to improve supply performance. This study uses empirical analysis to examine the impact of digital transformation on sustainable supply chain performance and to explore the role of information sharing and traceability as mediators. The aim is to guide the pharmaceutical supply chain to clearly manage the development of digital transformation and obtain sustainable supply performance. This study presents hypotheses based on cutting-edge theoretical findings. In total, 298 Chinese pharmaceutical company supply chain managers were surveyed and Structural equation analysis was conducted using SPSS26.0 and AMOS24.0. The results show that digital transformation significantly and positively impacts sustainable supply chain performance. Traceability plays a mediating role. The mediating role of information sharing is not significant. However, information sharing and traceability as two separate trends can have synergistic effects that together affect sustainable supply performance. The conclusion is that the pharmaceutical supply chain should accelerate digital construction, eliminate the uneven development of digital technology among supply chain members, and reduce the impact of technological uncertainty on performance. Companies are enhancing supply chain security management through information sharing and traceability systems, and are continuously focusing on the role of digital transformation as a driver for sustainable development.

Designing photocathodes with nanostructures has been considered a promising way to improve the photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting activity. Cu2Te is one of the promising semiconducting materials for photoelectrochemical water splitting, the performance of Cu2Te photocathodes remains poor. In this work, we report the preparation of Cu2Te nanorods (NRs) and vertical nanosheets (NSs) assembled film on Cu foil through a vapor phase epitaxy (VPE) technique. The obtained nano architectures as photocathodes toward photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance was tested afterwards for the first time. Optimized Cu2Te NRs and NSs photocathodes showed significant photocurrent density up to 0.53 mA cm−2 and excellent stability under illumination. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and Mott–Schottky analysis were used to analyze in more detail the performance of Cu2Te NRs and NSs photocathodes. From these analyses, we propose that Cu2Te NRs and NSs photocathodes are potential candidate materials for use in solar water splitting.

This study aims to analyze the effects of dynamic motion and structural response of semi-submersible floating offshore wind turbine structures (FOWTs) in waves generated in hurricane environments. The extreme environment utilizes numerical simulation data of hurricanes and is divided into low-frequency and high-frequency components based on wave-age, and a load case combining wind and wave is applied. As the hurricane progresses, a spectrum divided into swell and wind sea components is generated in the ocean, and the swell component is distributed in the natural frequency range of the structure, increasing the dynamic response. Dynamic analysis compares the cumulative response by fitting the response for each wave component generated by the hurricane through the Gaussian mixture model. In the structural analysis, the hydrodynamic pressure calculated through diffraction analysis is mapped to a finite element model using the quasi-dynamics interaction method, and the von Mises stress per wave component is analyzed. Through this, it is possible to grasp the main factors of the dynamic and structural responses of semi-submersible FOWTs.

본 연구에서는 당 논문과 동일한 제목 하에 이루어진 연구결과에 이어서 최신 개발 고에너지 열가소성(ETPE)추진제의 시차 주사 열량(DSC) 및 열중량 분석(TGA)법으로 열분석을 진행하여 고에너지 열가소성 추진제의 특징을 확인하였으며, 추진제 둔감성을 확인하기 위해 추진제 둔감 정도 확인 시험인 LSGT, 파쇄성 시험을 진행하였다. 추진제 원료로는 GAP(Glycidyl Azide Polymer)이 45% 함유된 고에너지 열가소성(ETPE) 바인더와 고에너지 가소제(DEGDN), 산화제로는 AP(Ammonium Perchlorate)와 RDX(research development explosive, cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine)를 사용하였다. 위와 같은 분석을 통해, 개발된 ETPE 추진제가 일반적인 RDX/AP 추진제와 유사한 열적 거동을 갖는 것을 확인 하였다.

Ammonium toxicity is a significant source of pollution from industrial civilization that is disrupting the balance of natural systems, adversely affecting soil and water quality, and causing several environmental problems that affect aquatic and human life, including the strong promotion of eutrophication and increased dissolved oxygen consumption. Thus, a cheap catalyst is required for power generation and detoxification. Herein, compost soil is employed as a novel electrocatalyst for ammonium degradation and high-power generation. Moreover, its effect on catalytic activity and material performances is systematically optimized and compared by treating it with various reducing agents, including potassium ferricyanide, ferrocyanide, and manganese dioxide. Ammonium fuel was supplied to the compost soil ammonium fuel cell (CS-AFC) at concentrations of 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 g/mL. The overall results show that ferricyanide affords a maximum power density of 1785.20 mW/m2 at 0.2 g/mL fuel concentration. This study focuses on high-power generation for CS-AFC. CS-AFCs are sustainable for many hours without any catalyst deactivation; however, they need to be refueled at regular intervals (every 12 h). Moreover, CS-AFCs afford the best performance when ferricyanide is used as the electron acceptor at the cathode. This study proposes a cheap electrocatalyst and possible solutions to the more serious energy generation problems. This study will help in recycling ammonium-rich wastewaters as free fuel for running CS-AFC devices to yield high-power generation with reducing agents for ammonium fuel cell power applications.

This study aims to examine the indirect mechanism by which intellectual leadership practices influence sustainability outcomes. By using the multi-source data from 289 manufacturing firms around the world, regression and bootstrapping analysis are applied to test both the mediation and moderated mediation models. The findings show that environmental competitive advantage indirectly mediates the relationship between intellectual leadership practices and sustainability outcomes. In addition, the indirect mediating relationship is strengthened as the level of employees’ multifunctionality increases. By exploring the jointed effect of intellectual leadership practices and employees’ multifunctionality on sustainability outcomes, this study provides insights into how manufacturers effectively enhance the economic consequences of sustainability management.

This report lays the foundation stone for the real time detector to control and monitor antibiotic resistant bacteria’s. To start with, firstly, the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles were done by the bio-reduction of silver nitrate using different concentrations of medicinal plant extract taken from the leaves of Azadirachta indica (neem). The well-known standard surface plasmon resonance (SPR) wavelength of 430 nm and the characteristic brown color of the solution confirms the formation of eco-friendly silver nanoparticles. The silver nanoparticle size in the range of 10–20 nm was observed from TEM measurements for the sample showing best SPR which was further selected for conjugation with QDs. Secondly glutathione capped ZnS:Mn QDs were synthesized and conjugated with silver nanoparticles (0.09–0.1 mg/mL) and then their zone of inhibition studies were done using antibiotic resistant gram positive as well as gram negative bacteria’s i.e. Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli respectively. Lastly, time resolved photoluminescence studies of the conjugated system were done to correlate zone of inhibition (antibiotic sensitivity) with silver nanoparticle concentration in both the cases of a gram positive bacteria and gram negative bacteria. Luminescence intensity of glutathione capped QDs conjugated silver nanoparticles decreases with increasing concentration of silver nanoparticles in tune with the increasing zone of inhibition (antibiotic sensitivity). This is very important for making a fluorescence based detector to monitor antibiotic resistant bacteria’s.
