Government‐based policy labs have established themselves across the Canadian policy landscape. This article argues these labs contribute to public value management. We begin by reviewing the public value management literature, followed by Canadian contributions to the policy lab literature. Then, our inventory of 35 current Canadian government‐based policy labs is descriptively analyzed, including trends in spatial concentration, the tools and methods employed, their focus areas, the number of years in existence, and their primary role in the policy process. We randomly selected nine of these labs, provide more details of their activities, and present a preliminary public value management typology to analyze policy labs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Capsian, comprising the Typical Capsian and Upper Capsian facies, is a prominent North African prehistoric entity dating to the Early Holocene. Hundreds of rammadiyat (snail-shell mound) sites in eastern Algeria and Tunisia were occupied by Capsian hunter-gatherer communities. A significant technological change occurred at these sites during the mid-seventh millennium BCE. Pressure knapping, for producing a blade and trapeze lithic industry, emerged. This technique developed during the Mesolithic throughout the Mediterranean region. Understanding the earlier typological and technological variabilities and the exact timing of the emergence of pressure knapping is crucial in determining the local or foreign origin of this innovation in North Africa. Recent examination of legacy collections excavated in the Oum el Bouaghi area of Algeria during the interwar period fosters new perspectives on Capsian lithic industry variability. Our analyses document a complex lithic landscape for the Early Holocene, including a proposed "Central Early Capsian" facies for the early phases, as well as the persistence of strong regional variabilities in Upper Capsian lithic industries. This paper aims to reflect on heritage diplomacy by analysing the nature of tensions in Global Heritage Regimes (GHRs) built around the World Heritage Convention and the Intangible Heritage Convention. Combining regime theory with Ostroms' typology of goods, we claim that the process of transforming the abstract idea of 'Heritage of Humanity' (HoH) into an outcome in the form of a heritage list needs to mobilise heritage as diplomacy and also is the result of heritage as diplomacy. At the same time, the transformation generates tension based on the experienced delusion of (1) the expectations built upon the inclusive idea of the 'Heritage of Humanity' (public good) and (2) the exclusive character of heritage lists (club goods). We claim that this 'Inclusion-Exclusion Tension' (IET) is an inherent element of global heritage regime design and as such needs to be managed through diplomatic efforts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

10. The Fourfold Office of Christ : A New Typology for Relating Church and World

- Abstract
How should the church relate to the world? For over seven decades, the classic categories of Christ and Culture have monopolized Christian answers to this question. Nearly everyone bought into H. Richard Niebuhr's lofty, world-transforming vision. And now that everyone's trying to make the world better, we keep clashing about how to do so. We all want God's will to be done on earth as in heaven, but deep disagreements about how to get there keep fracturing Christ's body and subverting our testimony. Jesus was right: our witness to the world depends on our unity and our love for one another. In recent years, we've been failing at both. Political partisanship and constant infighting have wounded the vulnerable and driven countless people from the pews. It's time to revisit church-world relations with fresh eyes and a stubborn commitment to God's revelation in Scripture. Offering a new typology for the twenty-first century, The Fourfold Office of Christ lucidly examines the most common ways of relating church and world. John C. Nugent employs the memorable categories of prophet, priest, king, and servant to showcase the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches. He then charts a rigorously scriptural and surprisingly hopeful path forward.

- Abstract
How to Study the Old Testament for Signs of Christ Believers read Scripture to follow Christ and deepen their relationship with him. But since a majority of the Bible was written before Jesus's life and death on the cross, many people rely on the Old Testament for historical context and moral guidance alone. However, when studied in detail, we see how even the Old Testament reveals Christ as the center of God's plan for redemption. Biblical Typology examines how the Old Testament foreshadows Christ, the church, and the consummation through types—or symbols—pointing toward fulfillment. Well-known for his academic yet accessible writing, Vern S. Poythress not only provides examples of types and analogies found in God's word but also teaches readers a practical framework and diagram for effectively examining them throughout Scripture. Readers will learn how to identify and interpret biblical typology for themselves as they deepen their understanding of the Bible and the wisdom of God. - Great for Bible Teachers: Teaches pastors, Bible study leaders, and thoughtful lay people how to effectively study biblical typology in the Old Testament - Practical How-To: Not only examines Scripture for examples of Christ in the Old Testament but teaches how readers can find types for themselves - Uses Helpful Tools: Introduces a practical framework and diagram to effectively interpret typology within the Old Testament - Academic yet Accessible: Written by scholar, professor, and author Vern S. - Abstract
Toward the end of his life, the Lord Jesus told the disciples the church would do the work that he had done and greater works in these last days. Building on the finished work of Christ, by the power and gifting of the indwelling Holy Spirit, believers do these works as prophets, priests, and kings in what the church has called the'gifts of the Holy Spirit.'Through study of the Old Testament saints who filled these offices, Christ (to whom they point), and important New Testament texts, Sylvia builds the paradigm for local church leaders to use to identify and deploy their church members in spiritually-gifted ministry. This paradigm is anchored in the Scriptures and can be used in congregations across the theological spectrum. This book lays out a path for taking seriously the Lord's assertion that in these last days, by the power of the Spirit and for the glory of God, the church will do great things.

This article analyses the presence of the Chilean gubernation in the instructions given to the viceroys during the reigns of the Habsburg kings (16th and 17th centuries). To do so, we first explain the relationship the viceroys had with the Kingdom of Chile. Afterwards we offer a characterization of the instructions as documental typology, as it was used as well in lots of other territories of the monarchy. We sustain the hypothesis that the importance of Chile in these documents increases in time once the Spanish dominion is consolidated and the strategic relevance of the Chilean coasts increases because of the presence of pirates and corsairs. - Abstract

- Abstract
In this book, Matthew Levering unites eschatologically charged biblical Christology with metaphysical and dogmatic Thomistic Christology, by highlighting the typological Christologies shared by Scripture, the Church Fathers, and Aquinas. Like the Church Fathers, Aquinas often reflected upon Jesus in typological terms (especially in his biblical commentaries), just as the New Testament does. Showing the connections between New Testament, Patristic, and Aquinas'own typological portraits of Jesus, Levering reveals how the eschatological Jesus of biblical scholarship can be integrated with Thomistic Christology. His study produces a fully contemporary Thomistic Christology that unites ressourcement and Thomistic modes of theological inquiry, thereby bridging two schools of contemporary theology that too often are imagined as rivals. Levering's book reflects and augments the current resurgence of Thomistic Christology as an ecumenical project of relevance to all Christians.

- Abstract
Responding to the belief that typology was a later development of the early church, and not applicable to the earliest canonical Gospel, Jonathan Robinson stresses that typology has deep Jewish roots, and that typological modes of thought were a significant part of the Gospel's historical and cultural background. He brings this insight to bear on four of the most dramatic miracles in Mark's Gospel, discovering a surprisingly consistent typological approach. Essential to Robinson's argument is the discovery of distinctive words and phrases taken from the Septuagint, that serve as unique indictors of Mark's intent to refer back to miracles from the Jewish scriptures, pointing to influence from Jonah, David, Elisha and Moses. These references in turn provide insight into Mark's Christology, revealing that Mark presents Jesus as both the fulfilment of scriptural human types and as assuming the narrative form of Israel's God. Robinson argues that rather than imposing categories extracted from earlier Jewish literature like “divine identity” and “exalted human figures”, Mark should be allowed to speak on its own terms and with its own unique voice.

- Abstract
Scholars studying the ANE have noticed that Canaanite kings ruled as a representative of their god and served in a priestly role. Yahweh allows Israel to have a king'like all the nations'(Deut 17:14), but he shapes the monarchy according to his covenant. A key question remains, does God's allowance for a king'like all the nations'include a king-priest model? This study presents a synchronic view of the king as a priest within the MT of Samuel, analyzing the motif and considering how the narrator heightens the hope for the coming anointed one, whom the narrator describes as both king (1 Sam 2:10) and priest (2:35-36). This study will argue that, from the monarchy's inception, Yahweh considered Israel's kingship a sacral task. My study examined the king as a priest through a synchronic literary-theological approach.

In this article, we report on a typology of the demands of statistical and mathematical products (StaMPs) embedded in media items related to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The typology emerged from a content analysis of a large purposive sample of diverse media items selected from digital news sources based in four countries. The findings encompass nine categories of StaMPs: (1) descriptive quantitative information, (2) models, predictions, causality and risk, (3) representations and displays, (4) data quality and strength of evidence, (5) demographics and comparative thinking, (6) heterogeneity and contextual factors, (7) literacy and language demands, (8) multiple information sources, and (9) critical demands. We illustrate these categories via selected media items, substantiate them through relevant research literature, and point to categories that encompass new or enhanced types of demands. Our findings offer insights into the rich set of capabilities that citizens (including both young people and adults) must possess in order to engage these mass media demands, critically analyze statistical and mathematical information in the media, evaluate the meaning and credibility of news reports, understand public policies, and make evidenced-informed judgments. Our conclusions point to the need to revise current curricular frameworks and conceptual models (e.g., regarding statistical and probability literacy, adult numeracy), to better incorporate notions such as blended knowledge, vagueness, risk, strength of evidence, and criticality. Furthermore, more attention is needed to the literacy and language demands of media items involving statistical and mathematical information. Implications for further research and educational practice are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LANGUAGE & languages , *ECONOMIC determinism , *SEMANTICS , *TYPOLOGY (Theology) - Abstract
This piece, entitled simply "The Japhetites" and dating from 1922, comes at the end of a two-decade period in which Marr worked and reworked the Japhetic theory, expanding the scope of languages encompassed therein. Marr surveys the development of this theory which postulates the existence of a Japhetic substrate of genetically related languages stretching across the Mediterranean basin. Marr was already beginning to modify the parameters of his theory, suggesting that Japhetic languages are not genetically distinct but constitute an early typological state in the history of language. At this point the Japhetic theory is coming to resemble less a hypothesis about the classification of certain languages than a speculative account of the global evolution of language. In this article Marr makes some of his most distinctive claims, such as his conception of language as a superstructural phenomenon and his denial of the possibility of reconstructing proto-languages through comparative study. He presents the Japhetic languages as offering a perspective on the primitive semantic state common to all languages. Nonetheless the piece still equivocates, referring to the Japhetites as a distinct people, albeit one that is difficult to pin down historically or geographically. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
William McEwen (1735–1762) is one of the forgotten writers of the Scottish Church of the 18th century, and one of the great popular exponents of a sound biblical Typology. In his seminal book, Scottish Theology (Edinburgh, Banner of Truth: 1974) p. 181), McLeod rates McEwen as one of the best writers from the Secession Church of 1733: “MacEwen of Dundee we name by himself. He was one of the brightest ornaments of the Secession movement. He died at the early age of 28. But he left a book that embalms his memory... This work deals with the types of Scripture in a vein of fine Evangelical teaching and it is expressed in what was regarded as the classical English of the middle of the 18th century... And such a high and dry Anglican Churchman as Dean Burgon makes the rather grudging admission that the best book he knew in English on the types was by a Scotsman and a Presbyterian.”Table of Contents:Foreword by Gordon J. - Abstract
In a highly accessible way, The Old and the New is a call for Christians to discover—or rediscover—the richness of the Bible through a study of the links that unite the Old and the New Testaments, which Pastor Laurent Clémenceau shows as the heart of the message of the early witnesses of the gospel and of Christian faith today. In doing so, the author invites readers to discover how the Bible presents the identity and work of Jesus Christ that, as Blaise Pascal wrote, “lie at the center of both Testaments—the Old as its expectation, the New as its model.” It is a call to contemplation, witness, and celebration!

- Abstract
The authors of the New Testament regularly quote and allude to Old Testament passages that point to the presence, person, and work of Jesus. Jesus himself claimed that Moses wrote about him (John 5:46). And on the road to Emmaus, Jesus instructed the disciples from'Moses and all the prophets'regarding himself (Luke 24:27).Though Christians affirm that the Old Testament bears witness to Christ, how the Old Testament writers did this is a matter of extensive debate. Furthermore, Christian biblical scholars also debate the degree to which contemporary interpreters of the Bible can follow the hermeneutics of the New Testament authors in using the Old Testament to point to the person and work of Jesus Christ.Five Views on Christ in the Old Testament is the first book to bring together in conversation the major views on how the Old Testament points to Christ. Contributors and views include:The First Testament Priority View (John Goldingay)The Christotelic View (Tremper Longman III)The Redemptive-Historical Christocentric View (Jason DeRouchie)The Reception-Centered Intertextual View (Havilah Dharamraj)The Premodern View (Craig Carter)Each contributor presents their preferred methodology, showing readers how their interpretive approach best explains the biblical data. Additionally, authors provide case studies of various Old Testament passages that equip readers to better compare the strengths and weaknesses of each of author's approaches. This essential resource will help readers learn practical steps to help them read the Old Testament more faithfully as it testifies to Jesus the Messiah.

Masonry churches, which are one of the cultural heritages, show the historical background, cultural and religious characteristics of the cities and material properties. Churches in the earthquake zone, which are different from each other in terms of typology and have a special importance, are at risk. The aim of this study is to examine the earthquake behavior of a church sample in Turkey and to provide a guide for structures with similar typology. The building was modeled and subjected to dynamic loads using macro modeling technique. Free vibration mode shapes were determined by modal analysis, and it was determined that these modes were mainly in the form of translation of the upper part of the structure. In the time history analysis, the stress and deformation values were determined. It has been observed that the stresses take high values at the supports and top of the main columns and in the arches connecting these columns to the side walls. It was concluded that the deformations reached their maximum values at the apex of the triangular gable walls in the upper part of the building. The results obtained are consistent with the damage the church received in past earthquakes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Responsible host conduct has emerged as important in regulating the peer-to-peer accommodation phenomenon. Utilising moral identity theory, this paper explores how hosts draw on their own perceptions of morality and responsibility to inform hosting practice. Through a qualitative research approach, the study reveals a variance of host practices that are not necessarily reflective of the perceived moral identity of hosts. In particular, the paper exposes the moral questions that hosts need to answer at different phases of the peer-to-peer transaction and, especially, if and how they enact certain aspects of their moral identity to guide their behaviour. The study offers a typology of Airbnb hosts' (im)moral behaviour, which may be of theoretical and practical value to academics and policymakers alike. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

'All Scripture is breathed out by God'(2 Timothy 3:16). From Paul's epistles the divine inspiration of Scripture may be confidently affirmed. However, on turning to Jesus and the Gospels, it is difficult to find such an explicit approach. In this New Studies in Biblical Theology volume, Matthew Barrett argues that Jesus and the apostles have just as convictional a doctrine of Scripture as Paul or Peter, but it will only be discovered if the Gospels are read within their own canonical horizon and covenantal context. The nature of Scripture presupposed by Jesus and the Gospel writers may not be addressed directly, but it manifests itself powerfully when their words are read within the Old Testament's promise-fulfilment pattern.Nothing demonstrates Scripture's divine origin, divine authorial intent and trustworthiness more than the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the advent of the Son of God, the Word has become flesh, announcing to Jew and Gentile alike that the covenant promises Yahweh made through the Law and the Prophets have been fulfilled in the person and work of Christ.Addressing key issues in biblical theology, the works comprising New Studies in Biblical Theology are creative attempts to help Christians better understand their Bibles. - Abstract
A survey of two literary devices that are indispensable for understanding salvation historyA biblical type is a person, place, or thing in salvation history that corresponds to a later person, place, or thing in the scriptural text. An allegory is a passage that says one thing in order to say something else. Both are common literary devices in the Bible that are vital for understanding truths about Jesus Christ found nowhere else.In 40 Questions About Typology and Allegory, Mitchell Chase provides a thorough introduction to both devices, showing where they appear throughout Scripture and the historical roles they have played in biblical interpretation. In a convenient question-and-answer format, Chase answers key questions such as: •Why should interpreters care about typology and allegory? •How do we identify types? •What are the theological assumptions of typology? •Do all types lead to Christ? •What is allegorical interpretation? •How was allegory practiced in the early church? •How should we practice allegorical interpretation?Situating typology and allegory within salvation history, Chase shows how these devices reveal the interconnectedness of Scripture and commonly overlooked aspects of Christ's person and work. Scholars, Bible teachers, and preachers will find this an essential resource for interpreting Scripture more comprehensively.

This paper dwells on syntactic patterns of logistics term formation in English and Bulgarian logistics terminology. The analysis and conclusions are part of a detailed exploration into the English and Bulgarian logistics terminological systems. The methods applied are a comparative approach implemented on the basis of the principles of synchronicity and systematicity when relating English terms to their Bulgarian equivalents and a semanticsyntactic method when revealing the relations between components in phrases with a component analysis of their semantic structure. Based on the examples included in the corpus developed especially for the study, the paper offers a classification of terminological phrases in the English and Bulgarian terminological system of logistics. The findings can be relevant when teaching English for Logistics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

There is widespread recognition that environmental disasters disproportionately affect the poor in developing countries, yet certain kinds of violence also strip white, middle-class communities in industrialized countries of vital resources to respond. Social vulnerability as a mutually constitutive relationship between distinct types of shocks and capacities to respond requires further research. I explore how the temporal dimension of shocks creates different types of structural risks, and articulate how these interact with the agency of affected communities. The first section deals with attributes of different environmental shocks, the second examines the agency of individuals and communities, the third analyzes the relationship between extractive industry violence and capacities for response. This generates a typology that enables us to chart the creation of vulnerable subjects. This framework also helps us develop insights into the underlying dimensions of social vulnerability and makes it possible to better classify cases of vulnerable populations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this article is to review Foucault's main elaborations on the notion of problematization and its methodological difficulties, in order to later make a composition that can account for both instances. The work is divided into three sections; I) in the first, the origin and the space of emergence of the concept of problematization are determined; II) in the second, a typology of the different notions of problematization is made together with the different mentions of the term in different registers; III) Finally, a composition of the main characteristics highlighted in the previous points is developed. The present study refers to the Deperdita-question in the Bohemian royal chancery of the late Middle Ages, examining the extent of their original production. The Deperdita are regarded on three levels: firstly, as typological evidence of those documents that were certainly produced at high rates in the past; secondly, as evidence that can be quantified; and thirdly, on the level of particular documents, the existence of which is without doubt, but which have not been preserved up to the present day. These questions are examined using the example of the relationship between the Bohemian king (or his officials) and Bohemian royal cities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The translation of the commentary of Cyril of Alexandria (ca. 376-444) on the Pentateuch, known as the Glaphyra, or “elegant comments,” is now completed by this second volume. Volume 1 contained the whole of his remarks on Genesis, and now Volume 2 presents his comments on Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, along with indices for the entire work. At this early stage in his patriarchate Cyril was an avid expositor of Scripture, on books of both Testaments, possibly undertaking this work as a model and guide for the clergy under his direction. While Cyril's other large-scale commentaries on Old Testament books, such as Isaiah and the Minor Prophets (the latter commentary also published in translation by CUA Press), followed a verse-by-verse approach, the Glaphyra is more thematic. As Cyril works through the narrative passages of the Pentateuch, he pauses to explain those elements within the text that present possible difficulties or admit alternative interpretations, and invariably concludes each section by bringing out spiritual lessons of benefit to the congregation. Many of these latter relate to Christ, since, for Cyril, a Christological reading of the Old Testament was unavoidable. While in the Glaphyra it was not Cyril's purpose to tackle the legal passages within the Pentateuch, a task that he wished to reserve for a separate work of an entirely different character (De adoratione et cultu in spiritu et veritate, “Concerning Worship and Service in Spirit and in Truth”), he does nevertheless here depart from his own remit on occasion and deal with some of the more prominent ceremonial passages. Cyril gives considerable space, for example, to the sacrifice of the Passover lamb and the levitical ritual for the cleansing of the leper, among others. As with Volume 1, Cyril's treatment of these books is published here for the first time in English translation.

- Abstract

Is the Old Testament too old to be of any use today? Reading the Gospels in light of the prophets of old such as Elijah and Elisha, Anderson's third volume offers a fresh portrait of Jesus (Yeshua) as a wise man who surpassed his predecessors because he was deeply versed in the Scriptures of his time. Like flowers, religions last if they have strong roots. Yeshua's Bible was deeply rooted in Ancient Near Eastern religions. A must-read to prepare the future of monotheism, beyond the parochial debates between religious groups today.

This article explores the take-up and imaginaries of open-plan schooling during the 1970s, drawing on examples from Denmark and Victoria (Australia). As well as expressing new forms of classroom design and pedagogical praxis, open plan classrooms stood for reimagining schooling as a social institution and to possibilities for remaking student and teacher subjectivities. As a thoroughly transnational concept, the open-plan ethos was entwined with broader processes of social-cultural and political change and suffused with a critical optimism in its potential to inaugurate powerful transformations that extended beyond classrooms. We explore these aspects of open-plan schooling through Levitas´s (2013) typology of modes of utopia and Cooper´s (2013) concept of 'everyday utopias', arguing for closer attention to the decisive role of mundane practices in navigating what is 'doable and viable' in how open-plan classrooms were planned and enacted while also being attuned to a vision of another future. To analyse the interweaving of national, local and transnational processes in the making of open-plan ideas and practices, we draw upon Ingold´s (2011) notion of 'meshwork', proposing that local enactments of open-plan schools fold back into and contribute to building up different (transnational) conceptions of the open plan. This article investigates a short Greek Christian homily, from the 4th century CE, by an anonymous Cappadocian preacher on the narrative of Susanna in Dan 13 LXX. The homily is simply titled, On Susanna (CPG 4567), and has been erroneously transmitted as a work of John Chrysostom. The purpose of this article is to examine more closely the construction of Susanna in the homily, with specific reference to the use of masculinity, psychic typology and finally, the construction of early Christian salvation history. After addressing, in brief, some matters of canonicity, a close reading of On Susanna is given. It is demonstrated that the Cappadocian strategically constructs Susanna like a virginal Christian martyr and ascetic, with the aim of highlighting her masculine steadfastness and dominance in her contest (agōn) against the elders. A significant second move that is made in the homily is to position the masculine Susanna as a type for the soul of the individual, which should also be guarded against the onslaught of sin and the passions. The European Union (EU), through its implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), is increasingly emphasising the development of environmentally friendly forms of agriculture. This is confirmed by, for example, the new European Green Deal (EGD). In Poland, the most important forms of CAP support for the environmentally friendly management of agricultural land were the following measures: agri-environment-climate measures (AECM) and organic farming (OF). These aid instruments facilitated the use of a range of packages and variants, which resulted in the pro-environmental forms of support offered by the CAP support having a very diverse internal structure. This study therefore attempts to synthesise the diversity of CAP financial support using spatial typology methods. The researched support measures were divided into three basic directions for developing agriculture: ecology, environment and habitat. The research procedure involved the D’Hondt method, the normalisation method, standardisation and correlation. The study was conducted on the example of Poland, and the basic territorial unit of analysis was the commune. It was shown that support for environmentally friendly activities in Poland related to almost 10% of the total farm area. The utilised agricultural area (UAA) covered by subsidies can be broken down as follows: organic farming—32.7%, environmental farming—31.8%, habitat farming—35.5%. The detailed results of the typology indicate the complexity of the spatial distribution of environmentally friendly CAP funds, which is defined by environmental determinants and the characteristics of the farms themselves. Farm-specific, non-environmental determinants were found to be the most significant, including farm size and managerial expertise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Czech National Repository of Grey Literature (NUSL) has been bringing GL to science and society over 10 years. It is based on Lisbon definition from 1997, updated in 2004, and on its own document typology that was created in 2008 as one of the outputs of the same name project. Since then there have been several papers and articles calling for new definition and new typology, asking what should be still considered GL and what not anymore. (Savić, 2018; Baxter and Hilbrecht, 2020) Savic (2019) pointed out that if everything can be marked as GL then probably nothing is GL. The NUSL already had to change its typology few times to provide still good service and to reflect research institutions' needs. However, it is not only the document typology that influences the repository and the service, there are other circumstances which affect further development of the NUSL such as partner institutions' needs, the National Research, Development and Innovation Policy, European Commission's guidelines on research outputs, current quantity and quality of other repositories and systems for grey literature and research results in the Czech Republic etc. The contribution/paper will bring a brief overview on NUSL's experience over 10 years of providing the service. Then it will be focused on a current situation in research area of the Czech Republic in detail. Finally, out of these points will conclude to the necessary changes that has to be taken by NUSL and his provider - National Library of Technology in Prague, in order to keep the service meaningful. The figure of Achan is marked as one of particular importance in the book of Joshua where he is introduced as a clear contrast to Rahab. Despite this, he is mentioned only once more in Joshua and not again in the former prophets. However, the narratological importance given to him was recognised in the subsequent books of the Former Prophets, each of which takes up the presentation of him and integrates it into their own narrative. The goal of this paper is to trace this process and in so doing outline a typological pattern that can be traced through the Former Prophets. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Revisionist scholars such as Reiner Smolinski, Theodore Dwight Bozeman, and Jan Stievermann have challenged the still-vibrant academic claim, best associated with the work of the late Sacvan Bercovitch, that seventeenth-century American Puritans identified themselves as "uniquely," "literally and historically," and "geographically" the successors to the original chosen people, the twelve tribes of Israel who once inhabited the promised land of Canaan. These revisionists argued that the Puritans, like other early modern Protestants, viewed proper Christians of all times and places as the present-day new Israelites. The principal issue at stake in this debate is the American Puritans' use of a Christian exegetical technique known as typology. Bercovitch contended that the Puritans employed this technique to style themselves, and only themselves, as the new chosen people and to see New England, and only New England, as the new promised land. Bercovitch's critics reached the correct conclusion; however, they provided little guidance about how Americanists should interpret the considerable textual evidence which he cited in support of his position. After all, New England Puritan sources abound with expressions like "our American Jerusalem," "the New-English Israel," the "American Zion," and "our Israel." This article presents Bercovitch's textual evidence for the New England as the new Israel thesis and then recontextualizes it, the task which his critics left unperformed. This recontextualization is important because many scholars who are not specialists in American Puritanism use Bercovitch to frame their long-range interpretations of American politics, history, and religion. His argument about typology appeals to these generalists because there is so much textual evidence which seems to support it, and because it enables them to claim that Americans from the Puritans through the present day have viewed America as God's new Israel. In today's multisector configurations, there is little clarity about whether and how public and private subsidies influence social enterprises' pursuit of financial stability. We address the strategic role of donors in the social-business life cycle whereby social enterprise start-ups rely on subsidies, while mature social enterprises strive for independence from donors. To address the "missing middle," we develop a typology of subsidy instruments and an intermediary signaling model to clarify how subsidies shape the evolution of outcomes for social enterprises. We argue that source variation matters for certain instruments like corporate intangibles and governmentally subsidized credit guarantees, which trigger crowding-in effects and attract commercial partners, while preventing perverse crowding-out effects, such as soft budget constraints. To illustrate this commercialization story, we draw upon a microfinance case study, demonstrating how public and private donors can induce crowding-in and crowding-out effects. In short, our subsidy typology helps unpack the signals that public and private subsidies send to commercial funders of social enterprises and how they shape the path to future financial independence. The American continent has seen the emergence of regional processes in the last 30 years, characterized by the emergence of new blocs, but also quite different projects. Faced with the new global and regional dynamics observed in the decade of 2010, this article argues that regionalism in the Americas has experienced a new wave in recent years, which we characterize as Liquid Regionalism, given the fluidity, informality and limited institutional design of the regional projects. Furthermore, the article introduces a new typology to characterize regional projects in the Americas, dividing them into platforms for consultation, cooperation and regional integration.
