The article presents information on various events related to the computer industry. It is reported that the NECC 83 Call for Participation, hosted by Towson State University, the 1983 National Educational Computing Conference, a cooperative effort of 19 organizations, is to be held in Baltimore, Maryland, June 6-8. General chairman is Doris K. Lidtke of Towson State. Building on the success of the four previous conferences, sessions and related activities are planned to benefit both experienced and new computer users, stressing the practical nature of such computer use. Moreover, the International Program Committee for the 9th World Computer Congress, IFIP 83, has released its first set of names of invited speakers and panelists who have accepted invitations to address the meeting. The chairman of the International Program Committee is D.C. Tsichritzis of the University of Toronto; the U.S. representative is Herbert Schorr of IBM who is also responsible for the part of the problem covering computer hardware and architecture.
