The growing demands of electrification are driving research into new electronic materials. These electronic materials must have high electrical conductivity, withstand harsh environments and high temperatures, and demonstrate reliable solutions as part of complete electronic packaging solutions. This study focuses on characterizing the manufacturing process of transient liquid-phase sintering (TLPS) of alloys in a paste form as candidates for high-temperature and high-power electronic materials. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the factors and decouple the multiple cross effects occurring during the first stage of TLPS processing in order to improve the understanding of material evolution. We conduct in situ electrical resistivity tests to directly measure material properties and analyze the dynamics and different stages of the material's evolution. We explore various factors, including alloying elements, organic binders, and heating rates, to understand their effects on the formation of electrical performance in electronic materials. More specifically, we will examine the performance of Ag-In and Ag-Sn TLPS paste systems. Additionally, we examine the packing density and changes in cross section using imaging techniques and image processing to gain insights into the early formation of the material's structural backbone. Main conclusion: A total of 27 rose thaumatin-like protein (TLP) genes were identified from the rose genome through bioinformatics analyses. RcTLP6 was found to confer salinity stress tolerance in rose. Thaumatin-like proteins (TLPs) play critical roles in regulating many biological processes, including abiotic and biotic stress responses in plants. Here, we conducted a genome-wide screen of TLPs in rose (Rosa chinensis) and identified 27 RcTLPs. The identified RcTLPs, as well as other TLPs from six different plant species, were placed into nine groups based on a phylogenetic analysis. An analysis of the intron–exon structures of the TLPs revealed a high degree of similarity. RcTLP genes were found on all chromosomes except for chromosome four. Cis-regulatory elements (CEs) were identified in the promoters of all RcTLPs, including CEs associated with growth, development and hormone-responsiveness, as well as abiotic and biotic responses, indicating they play diverse roles in rose. Transcriptomics analysis revealed that RcTLPs had tissue-specific expression patterns, and several root-preferential RcTLPs were responsive to drought and salinity stress. Quantitative PCR analysis of six RcTLPs under ABA, PEG and NaCl treatment confirmed the differentially expressed genes identified in the transcriptomics experiment. In addition, silencing RcTLP6 in rose leaves led to decreased tolerance to salinity stress. We also screened proteins which may interact with RcTLP6 to understand its biological roles. This study represents the first report of the TLP gene family in rose and expands the current understanding of the role that RcTLP6 plays in salt tolerance. Tubby-Like Proteins (TLPs) are important transcription factors with many functions and are found in both animals and plants. In plants, TLPs are thought to be involved in the abiotic stress response. To reveal the potential function of TLPs in the medicinal model plant Salvia miltiorrhiza, we identified 12 S. miltiorrhiza TLPs (SmTLPs) and conducted a comprehensive analysis. We examined SmTLP gene structure, protein structure, phylogenetics, and expression analysis. Our results show that all SmTLPs, except SmTLP11, have a complete typical Tub domain. Promoter analysis revealed that most SmTLPs are involved in hormone and abiotic stress responses. Expression analysis revealed that the 12 SmTLPs could be divided into three categories: those specifically expressed in roots, those specifically expressed in stems, and those specifically expressed in leaves. Additional studies have shown that SmTLP10 may play an important role in the plant cold resistance, while SmTLP12 may be involved in the S. miltiorrhiza ABA metabolic pathway. Our study represents the first comprehensive investigation of TLPs in S. miltiorrhiza. These data may provide useful clues for future studies and may support the hypotheses regarding the role of TLPs in plant abiotic stress process. All in all, we may provide a reference for improving S. miltiorrhiza quality using genetic engineering technology.

The demand for reliable, lead-free and high temperature stable solder interconnects for power electronic application has increased in recent years. The die attach solder materials are exposed to higher electrical currents and temperatures due to advancing designs and wide band-gap semiconductors. The diffusion soldering material Sn-Cu-Sn with its high post processing melting temperature is a promising option for high temperature die attach interconnects. The aim of this work is to predict potential failure mechanisms in the die attach of automotive power modules due to simulation based thermo-mechanical analysis of the diffusion solder Sn-Cu-Sn layer and SAC. The FE-model is validated with experimental results from active power cycling tests. The simulation indicates a potential for lifetime increase by usage of layered diffusion solder. The accuracy of transmission line parameters (TLPs) allows the proper response to faults or load variations and the monitoring of common fault indicators, such as the conductor's temperature and sag. TLP estimation methodologies based on modal decomposition theory are restricted to specific tower configurations in which the transmission line transformation matrix is known. This paper proposes a non‐linear system of equations to estimate the parameters of a generic three‐phase transmission line while using modal‐phase relations for an unknown transformation matrix and known voltages and current phasors at the terminals of the line. The Newton–Raphson (NR) method is implemented to solve this proposed system of equations and accurately estimate the TLPs. The relative error of the estimated parameters shows the methods' accuracy and the influence of the line representation as lumped elements. The results demonstrate the robustness and efficiency of the proposed method for transmission lines of different lengths. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Tubby-like proteins (TLPs), which were firstly identified in obese mice, play important roles in male gametophyte development, biotic stress response, and abiotic stress responses in plants. To date, the role of TLP genes in fruit ripening is largely unknown. Here, through a bioinformatics analysis, we identified 11 TLPs which can be divided into three subgroups in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), a model plant for studying fruit development and ripening. It was shown that all SlTLPs except SlTLP11 contain both the Tub domain and F-box domain. An expression profiling analysis in different tomato tissues and developmental stages showed that 7 TLP genes are mainly expressed in vegetative tissues, flower, and early fruit developmental stages. Interestingly, other 4 TLP members (SlTLP1, SlTLP2, SlTLP4, and SlTLP5) were found to be highly expressed after breaker stage, suggesting a potential role of these genes in fruit ripening. Moreover, the induced expression of SlTLP1 and SlTLP2 by exogenous ethylene treatment and the down expression of the two genes in ripening mutants, further support their putative role in the ripening process. Overall, our study provides a basis for further investigation of the function of TLPs in plant development and fruit ripening.

A transient liquid phase sintering (TLPS) bonding process, Ni-Sn TLPS bonding was developed for the new generation of power semiconductor packaging. A model Ni/Ni-Sn/Ni sandwiched structure was assembled by using 30Ni-70Sn mixed powder as the reactive system. The results show that the bonding layer is composed of NiSn and residual fine Ni particles with a small amount of NiSn at 340°C for 240 min, which has a heat-resistant temperature higher than 790°C. The microstructural evolution and thermal characteristic of the bonding layer for various times at 300°C and 340°C were also studied, respectively. This reveals that, after isothermally holding for 240 min at 300°C and for 180 min at 340°C, Sn has been completely transformed into Ni-Sn intermetallic compounds (IMCs) and the bonding layer is mainly composed of NiSn and residual Ni particles. The analysis result for the mechanical properties of the joint shows that the hardness of the bonding layer at 340°C for 240 min is uniform and that the average value reaches 3.66 GPa, which is close to that of the NiSn block material. The shear test shows that, as the holding time increases from 60 min to 180 min at 340°C, because of the existence of Sn, the disparity of shear strength between room temperature and 350°C is large. But when the holding time is 180 min or longer, Sn has been completely transformed into Ni-Sn IMCs. Their performances are very similar whether at room temperature or 350°C. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: Compliant offshore TLPs are essentially meant for deep oil/gas exploration and are usually constructed on the seashore and then towed down to the particular location for anchorage. They are connected to the sea bed by means of pretension cables. The increased use of TLPs in deep waters and necessity of reduction of usually high value of pretension make the effect of variable tension in the tether dynamics more significant. This work presents the dynamic analysis of tethers and TLPs considering the linearly varying tension along the tether length. The modal analysis considers a linear cable equation for tether modeling subjected to tension which varies along its length. A Mathieu stability analysis is then performed for TLPs of different shapes and different water depth vis-à-vis of 527.8, 872, and 1200m respectively to obtain the amplitudes of tether vibrations. The unstable modes of vibration are also verified. The resultant modal forms for the tether''s dynamic model are then obtained in form of Bessel''s function. From the numerical studies conducted it is seen that increased tether tension not only leads to a stable platform but also improves the stability due to increased hydrodynamic loading contributing to added mass. From the studies conducted it is also seen that the triangular configuration TLPs with increased initial pretension are more stable compared to four leg TLP in the first mode of vibration. During this investigation, a high-temperature, variable melting point (VMP) Sn-Sb solder paste was developed. The solder was created by mixing pure Sn and Sb powders together with a flux to form a paste. The proper choice of flux composition and Sn powder size resulted in a Sn-10wt.%Sb solder paste that had an initial melting point of 232°C and solder ball formation at peak temperatures as low as 241°C. This represents a significant reduction in the process temperature that would normally be required for a prealloyed solder with a melting point of 250°C. When this solder paste is reheated, significant remelting does not take place until a temperature above 241°C is reached. In this way, the solder exhibits a VMP. Experiments indicate that this VMP behavior is due to isothermal solidification (or freezing) at the solder temperature owing to the partial transient liquid-phase (TLP) behavior of the solder powder paste. Chemotaxis, a process that mediates directional motility toward or away from chemical stimuli (chemoeffectors/ligands that can be attractants or repellents) in the environment, plays an important role in the adaptation of Campylobacter jejuni to disparate niches. The chemotaxis system consists of core signal transduction proteins and methyl-accepting-domain-containing Transducer like proteins (Tlps). Ligands binding to Tlps relay a signal to chemotaxis proteins in the cytoplasm which initiate a signal transduction cascade, culminating into a directional flagellar movement. Tlps facilitate substrate-specific chemotaxis in C. jejuni, which plays an important role in the pathogen's adaptation, pathobiology and colonization of the chicken gastrointestinal tract. However, the role of Tlps in C. jejuni's host tissue specific colonization, physiology and virulence remains not completely understood. Based on recent studies, it can be predicted that Tlps might be important targets for developing strategies to control C. jejuni via vaccines and antimicrobials.

Equine rotaviruses were first detected in foals over 30 years ago and remain a major cause of infectious diarrhoea in foals. During this time, there has been substantial progress in the development of sensitive methods to detect rotaviruses in foals, enabling surveillance of the genotypes present in various horse populations. However, there has been limited epidemiological investigation into the significance of these circulating genotypes, their correlation with disease and the use of vaccination in these animal populations. Our knowledge of the pathogenesis of rotavirus infection in foals is based on a limited number of studies on a small number of foals and, therefore, most of our understanding in this area has been extrapolated from studies in other species. Questions such as the concentrations of rotavirus particles shed in the faeces of infected foals, both with and without diarrhoea, and factors determining the presence or absence of clinical disease remain to be investigated, as does the relative and absolute efficacy of currently available vaccines.
