Abstract

In image anomaly detection, Autoencoders are the popular methods that reconstruct the input image that might contain anomalies and output a clean image with no abnormalities. These Autoencoder-based methods usually calculate the anomaly score from the reconstruction error, the difference between the input image and the reconstructed image. On the other hand, the accuracy of the reconstruction is insufficient in many of these methods, so it leads to degraded accuracy of anomaly detection. To improve the accuracy of the reconstruction, we consider defining loss function in the frequency domain. In general, we know that natural images contain many low-frequency components and few high-frequency components. Hence, to improve the accuracy of the reconstruction of high-frequency components, we introduce a new loss function named weighted frequency domain loss(WFDL). WFDL provides a sharper reconstructed image, which contributes to improving the accuracy of anomaly detection. In this paper, we show our method's superiority over the conventional Autoencoder methods by comparing it with AUROC on the MVTec AD dataset.

Abstract

We are trying to implement deep neural networks in the edge computing environment for real-world applications such as the IoT(Internet of Things), the FinTech etc., for the purpose of utilizing the significant achievement of Deep Learning in recent years. Especially, we now focus algorithm implementation on FPGA, because FPGA is one of the promising devices for low-cost and low-power implementation of the edge computer. In this work, we introduce Binary-DCGAN(B-DCGAN) - Deep Convolutional GAN model with binary weights and activations, and with using integer-valued operations in forward pass(train-time and run-time). And we show how to implement B-DCGAN on FPGA(Xilinx Zynq). Using the B-DCGAN, we do feasibility study of FPGA's characteristic and performance for Deep Learning. Because the binarization and using integer-valued operation reduce the memory capacity and the number of the circuit gates, it is very effective for FPGA implementation. On the other hand, the quality of generated data from the model will be decreased by these reductions. So we investigate the influence of these reductions., Comment: 10 pages

6. Leukemic transformation of polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia possibly associated with an alkylating agent

Abstract

Background. Leukemic transformation of polycythemia vera (PV) and essential thrombocythemia (ET) is influenced by the therapeutic modalities used. A high incidence of leukemic transformation was found among patients with PV or ET treated with an alkylating agent, carboquone (CQ). The study was conducted to assess the causal relationship between CQ and leukemic transformation of PV and ET. Method. Twenty-seven patients with PV and 29 with ET diagnosed from January 1975 to August 1993 and whose clinical course could be followed comprised the members of this retrospective study. The patients were examined for the treatment administered, hematologic data, vascular complications, malignancies including leukemia, and eventual outcome. Results. Eighteen patients with PV and 16 with ET were treated with CQ. The follow-up was 51-209 months for patients with PV and 28-176 months for those with ET. Three patients with PV (17% of those treated with CQ) and 5 with ET (31% of those treated with CQ) had subsequent transformation to acute leukemia. The median period until transformation of patients with PV was 94 months, whereas the median follow-up of patients without transformation was 146 months (P < 0.01). The median total days of CQ administration and the median total dose of CQ were 2022 days and 1226 mg, respectively, for the patients with transformation and 1051 days (P < 0.05) and 435 mg (P < 0.01), respectively, for those without transformation. Likewise, the median follow-ups for patients with ET with or without transformation were 130 and 90 months, respectively; the difference was insignificant. The median total days of CQ administration and the median total dose of CQ were 2075 days and 1019 mg, respectively, for patients with transformation and 571 days (P < 0.05) and 231 mg (P < 0.01), respectively, for those without transformation. These observations suggest that CQ may be involved in the leukemia transformation of PV and ET. The subtypes of leukemia transformed from PV corresponded to M2 in two patients and to M4 in one. All five patients with ET were found to have megakaryoblastic features at transformation, and three were diagnosed as having leukemic subtype M7. Chromosomal abnormalities were found in all five patients (two PV and three ET) examined after leukemic transformation, showing multiple and complex abnormalities in four. Conclusion. Showing that both the total days of CQ administration and the total dose of CQ were larger for patients with PV or ET whose disease subsequently transformed to leukemia, with this study, a possible causal role of CQ in leukemic transformation of PV and ET is suggested.

Abstract

P(論文), In the present study, we investigated the diagnostic ability of AGFA dental film (A) compared with INSIGHT dental film (I), depending on the basic photograph characteristic test. The results were as follows : 1. The diagnostic point of the x-ray photograph focused on the structures of the dental root area. 2. The judging standard of the X-ray nlm reading confirmed because the contrast is a main factor. 3. The INSIGHT film was more acceptable that the photographic contrast was seen clearly on blue base background. 4. There was no difference in the quantity of INSIGHT or AGFA film, due to the clinical experience of the user.

14. Interaction of Influenza Virus with Blood Platelets

Abstract

The interaction of human blood platelets with influenza virus (PR-8) was studied in vitro and in vivo. It was found that "live" influenza virus was rapidly adsorbed onto human blood platelets at 4 C. and completely eluted at 37 C. "Dead" virus was adsorbed at 4 C. but not eluted at 37 C. unless the platelets were treated with RDE (receptor destroying enzyme). Adorption of virus also occurred at tem peratures above 4 C. (from 20 to 37 C.). However, while adsorption was maintained throughout incubation at 4 C., slow elution occurred after 30 to 90 minutes incubation at 26 to 37 C. Storage of the platelets for lengthy intervals at 4 C. or coating of the platelets with macromolecules did not interfere with virus adsorption. After one cycle of adsorption-elution, blood platelets could not adsorb virus again. Treatment with RDE greatly reduced virus adsorption. During the process of virus adsorption, prominent platelet clumping occurred. During elution, clumping remained unchanged, and gross alterations in morphology of the platelets were observed. In the process of virus adsorption-elution, large numbers of platelets were lysed. Comparative experiments were performed simultaneously with human red blood cells (RBC) and identical results were obtained as with blood platelets. However, the extent of adsorption of live virus was equal for platelets and RBC only when the relationship between platelet number and RBC number in the preparations used was 6:1. This suggested a direct proportion between the surface area of both platelet and RBC and the number of available virus receptors. Virus suspensions infused into rabbits produced a sharp and sustained drop of the platelet count. Survival of radioactively labeled platelets treated with virus prior to infusion was markedly shortened with live virus and was only slightly reduced with dead virus. It is suggested from these experiments that blood platelets, as other blood cells, may serve as carriers of viruses in the circulation and that in this process the platelets are damaged and partially destroyed.

Abstract

Through a research of existing literature, the clinical manifestion, diagnosis and treatment of hemophilia A and B are described. This article reviews the recent progress of coagulation factor VIII and IX products, and the efficiency of bypass therapy with rFVIIa, etc., to induce immune tolerance induction in congenital hemophilia with inhibitors and acquired hemophilia. In the future, an explanation of the mechanism and prophylaxy of inhibitors and the progress of genetic therapy are expected.
