Background/aim: The self-administered neck mobility assessment tool (S-ROM-Neck) is the subjective cervical region range of motion (S-ROM) assessment scale. The study aimed to demonstrate the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the S-ROM-Neck in patients with chronic neck pain. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with a total of 60 chronic neck pain patients in the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Clinic of Pamukkale University Hospital between January and August 2021. The mean age of the individuals was 34.1 +/- 9.9 years. Patients were assessed with S-ROM-Neck twice to prove the test-retest reliability. In addition, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Neck Disability Index (NDI) and bubble inclinometer measurement were used to analyze the construct validity of S-ROM-Neck. Results: The intraclass correlation coefficients of the S-ROM-Neck were higher than 0.80 (ICC > 80, CI: 0.90-98). The internal consistency of the S-ROM-Neck total score was within the acceptable limits (alpha = 0.754). Construct validity was high regarding the correlation analysis (r > 0.05, p < 0.01). Conclusion: Turkish S-ROM-Neck is a valid and reliable tool to assess the S-ROM of individuals with chronic neck pain.

Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the effects of Matrix Rhythm Therapy (MRT) with combined physiotherapy treatment on pain intensity, muscle spasm, disability level and depressive symptoms in chronic neck pain. Material and Methods: A total of 26 participants with a mean age of 44.46 +/- 9,98 years were randomly divided into two groups (Intervention and control group). Each participant was treated with ten sessions of a combined physiotherapy program, including hot pack, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound and conventional massage, exercises and patient education. Additionally, the intervention group received five sessions of MRT. Pain intensity, muscle spasm, disability level and depressive symptoms were assessed before and after the treatment program. Results: There was a statistically significant improvement in pain, muscle spasm and disability levels after treatment in both groups (p0.05). The difference in change values in terms of activity pain and muscle spasms was found in favor of the intervention group (p0.05). Discussion: The findings of the study suggest that both the combined physiotherapy program and the MRT application in addition to the combined physiotherapy program have a positive effect on pain, muscle spasms and disability levels in patients with chronic neck pain. On the other hand, MRT increased the efficiency of the combined physiotherapy treatment in the terms of activity pain and muscle spasm in patients with chronic neck pain.

Aim: The primary aim of this study was to examine the relationships between scapular position and pain, muscle shortness, shoulder and neck stabilization, and disability in women with neck pain. We additionally aim to compare scapular position, muscle shortness, shoulder and neck stabilization, and disability in women with and without neck pain. Material and Methods: The study included 42 women with a mean age of 21.53 +/- 2.33 years. For evaluation of scapula position, the protractor method and the Lennie test were used. In the neck pain group, the scapula position was measured by protractor method and right and left muscle shortness was tested for both dominant and non-dominant sides. In addition, a visual analog scale (VAS), the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). pectoral's minor muscle shortness, dosed kinetic chain shoulder stabilization, neck flexor muscle endurance test, and the Neck Disability Index were used for evaluation. Results: According to VAS scores, on a scale of 1-10, the pain level of the group with neck pain was recorded as 4.81 +/- 1.15. On the non-dominant side, a statistically negative and low-level significant correlation was found with the right-side shortness test (p0.05). Discussion: As a result of this study, it was seen that scapular position as measured by protractor method was associated with muscle shortness. In addition, neck pain increases disability. The protractor method may be a viable measurement method for evaluation of scapula position.

Purpose: This study was planned to examine the effects of physical activity level on academic self-efficacy, anxiety and stress in university students. Secondarily, the effects of physical activity level by gender on academic self-efficacy, anxiety, and stress was examined.Materials and methods: One hundred thirthy-two university students (female: 67, male: 65) between the ages of 18-30 were included in the study. The physical activity levels of the participants were evaluated with the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, and the participants were divided into two groups as minimally active (n=71) (Group I) and sufficiently active (n=61) (Group II) according to the scores obtained from the questionnaire. Academic Self-Efficacy Scale was used to question academic self-efficacy. Anxiety and stress levels were evaluated using Beck Anxiety Inventory and Class Causes of Stress Scale, respectively.Results: In the comparison between groups, a significant difference was found between the academic self-efficacy of the students in the Group I and Group II (p=0.001). When the two groups were compared in terms of anxiety levels, it was determined that the students in the Group II had lower anxiety (p=0.012). It was found that physical activity has a statistically significant and increasing effect on academic self-efficacy (p=0.005; R2=0.06).Conclusion: Our study results showed that students whose physical activity levels were sufficiently active had higher academic self-efficacy and lower anxiety. In the light of this information, it will be beneficial to increase the physical activity levels of the students in order to improve their mental well-being., Amaç: Bu çalışma üniversite öğrencilerinde fiziksel aktivite düzeyinin akademik öz-yeterlik, anksiyete ve stres üzerine olan etkisini incelemek amacıyla planlandı. Sekonder olarak cinsiyete göre fiziksel aktivite düzeyinin akademik öz-yeterlik, anksiyete ve strese olan etkisi incelendi.Gereç ve yöntem: Çalışmaya 18-30 yaş aralığında 132 üniversite öğrencisi (kadın: 67, erkek: 65) dahil edildi. Katılımcıların fiziksel aktivite düzeyleri Uluslararası Fiziksel Aktivite Anketi ile değerlendirildi ve katılımcılar anketten alınan skora göre minimal aktif (n=71) (Grup I) ve yeterince aktif (n=61) (Grup II) olarak 2 gruba ayrıldı. Fiziksel aktivitenin akademik öz-yeterliğe istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve artırıcı etkisinin olduğu bulunmuştur (p=0,005; R2=0,06). Sonuç: Çalışma sonuçlarımız fiziksel aktivite düzeyleri yeterince aktif olan öğrencilerin akademik öz-yeterliklerinin daha yüksek ve anksiyetelerinin daha düşük olduğunu gösterdi. Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the cervical muscle endurance of young people with and without neck pain. The second aim of this study was to explore the gender differences in people with neck pain for neck muscle endurance., Material and Methods: The study included 130 university students aged between 18 to 25 years (55 females, 75 males). Forty-two of those students who have neck pain (NP) at least 3 months and 88 of the students without neck pain (C) constituted the sample. Pain intensity was assessed with Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Isometric neck muscle endurance of the participants was assessed using cervical flexor (NF) and extensor (NE) muscles endurance tests., Results: The main pain intensity of the subjects with NP was 4,19 +/- 1.92. For all subjects, the mean endurance of both NF (p=0.03) and NE (p=0.05) muscles of the subjects without pain was higher compared with subjects with NP. When the analysis was classified by gender, male subjects without pain had higher NF (p=0.02) and NE (p=0.002) muscle endurance than male subjects with pain. On the other hand, there were no significant differences between female subjects with and without NP (p>0.05)., Discussion: These findings suggest that neck flexor and extensor muscle endurance are affected by neck pain. On the other hand, gender is a significant factor for neck muscle endurance in subjects with neck pain. Further investigations are needed to have a wide data to consider the gender and pain for neck muscle endurance.

Aim: In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of soft tissue mobilization on pain, disability level, depressive symptoms and to determine the effect of sociodemographic data on the recovery level of patients with chronic non-specific low back pain., Materials and Methods: One hundred twenty-two participants (78 females, 44 males, mean age: 51.08 +/- 10.78 years) were included in our randomized controlled study. Fifteen sessions (5 days a week; during 3 weeks) of conventional physiotherapy programme (hot-packs, TENS, therapeutic Ultrasound and exercise) were applied in both groups. Nine sessions (3 days a week; during 3 weeks) of soft tissue mobilization technique were performed additionally to the participants in Group 1. Pain intensity (Visual Analog Scale), disability level (Rolland Morris Disability Questionnaire), depressive symptoms (Beck Depression Scale) were examined before and after the treatment., Results: Decrease in pain intensity, disability level, and depressive symptoms were statistically significant in both groups (p < 0.001) after the treatment. As delta scores were compared, the significant difference between pain intensity and disability level (p < 0.05) was observed whereas reduction in depression level was not significant (p > 0.05)., Discussion: Soft Tissue Mobilization provides an additional benefit to the Conventional Physiotherapy program in reducing pain intensity and disability level in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain.

Spinal segment involvement is a common symptom in rheumatoid arthritis. The cervical region is the most commonly involved spinal segment in individuals with rheumatoid arthritis. Multiple involvement of thoracic and lumbar vertebrae is known to be rare. In patients with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis, this type of segment involvement is more severe and conservative treatment is insufficient in some cases and surgical interventions are taken. In our study, the clinical features of a 66-year-old female patient with multiple involvement in thora-columbar segments were evaluated before and after physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions with conservative treatment and the changes in the clinical condition were emphasized. The unique feature of our study is the discussion of the evaluation and treatment results of this rare pathological condition with this case report.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of chronic nonspecific neck pain on balance, cervical proprioception, head posture, and deep neck flexor muscle endurance in the elderly. Materials and Method: Elderly participants aged ≥65 years with chronic neck pain (n=16; 9 females) and without neck pain [n=16; 8 females (control group)] were included in this study. Balance function of the participants was assessed using the SportKAT 550 kinesthetic balance device, one-leg standing test, and timed up and go test. The joint position error test was used to evaluate cervical proprioception. Head posture was assessed by craniovertebral angle measurement, and muscle endurance was evaluated by the deep neck flexor endurance test. Results: All balance tests results, joint position error value, and deep neck flexor muscle endurance were better in the control group than in the neck pain group (p0.05). Conclusion: Our results indicate that chronic neck pain negatively affects the balance, cervical proprioception, and muscle endurance in the elderly. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of gender on general health status, cognitive functions, depressive symptoms, back pain intensity and neck pain intensity in old adults living in Denizli. This study included 140 voluntary elderly between 65-97 years old (75 females, 65 males; mean age: 71.30±6.35 yrs.). With the development of the technology, Internet usage became a habit in everyday life which made the social media indispensable. Social media lets users to get in touch with other users via interactive communication. Users that share every moment and experience of their daily life, are being effective on other consumers’ behaviors and manners towards the created brand image with the content that they share. As a result, brands are shaping their brand images and consumers’ attitudes towards themselves, by using social media marketing and taking care of consumer requests. At this point, consumers may purchase products, being affected with the contents and attitude towards the brand image formed by the social media users and brands’ themselves. In this study; brands' social media usage and its effects on consumer attitudes and behavior have been investigated. At the theoretical section of the study; a thorough literature review is conducted on social media, social media marketing, brand image, brand attitude, and consumer behavior. Then, during the research process, a survey on the effects of brands' social media usage on consumers is prepared and has been responded by 465 social media users. With the analysis of the given answers, it has been established that the brands’ uses of social media have been identified to influence consumers' behavior.

Objective: The primary purpose of this study was to examine the intrarater and interrater reliability of hand-held dynamometry to assess Quadriceps Femoris (QF) muscle strength. The second purpose of the study was to detect the effect of muscle strength on reliability.Method: Forty voluntary undergraduate students of physical education program (20 male, 20 female; mean age: 21,8±1,84 yr) and 50 undergraduate students of physiotherapy program (25 male, 25 female; mean age: 20,9±1,38 yr) participated in this study. Dominant side QF muscle strength was measured using by a HHD. The measurements were taken by two final year physiotherapy students on two occasions, with a week between tests. The Intraclass Correlation Coefficients (ICC) was calculated for reliability.Results: ICC for intrarater reliability was 0.82 for the physical education students and 0.83 for the physiotherapy students. Similar results were found for interrater reliability (ICC=0.84 for the physical education students; ICC=0.83 for the physiotherapy students). The aim of this study was to determine prevalence of MSP and its characteristics among school teachers. Nine hundred teachers were evaluated. Bu çalışmanın amacı alışveriş merkezlerinin çevresel özelliklerinin ve tüketicilerin kişisel niteliklerinin bireylerin bu alanlardaki alışveriş davranışları üzerindeki doğrudan ve kişilerin bu ortamlara yönelik duygusal, bilişsel ve davranışsal tepkileri aracılığıyla yarattıkları dolaylı etkilerini araştırmaktır. Sunulan modele göre çevresel ve kişisel değişkenler alışveriş merkezi memnuniyetini ve müşteri olma davranışını etkileyen eşit derecede önemli faktörlerdir. Ayrıca, bütün bu etkenlerin tutum ve davranışları şekillendirme gücünün faydacıl ve hazcı alışveriş eğilimleri olan tüketiciler arasında farklılık göstermesi beklenmektedir.Araştırma kapsamındaki önerilerin doğruluğunun test edilebilmesi için 603 kişiden planlanmış anketler kullanılarak veri toplanmıştır. This study is designed to provide insights as to how different elements of a shopping mall environment and consumers? personal characteristics influence their mall shopping behaviors directly, and indirectly through their effects on mall related emotions, cognitions, or activity patterns. The study?s significance is that all these situational and individual factors are treated as equally important determinants of consumers? mall satisfaction levels or patronage behaviors. Most importantly, these influences are expected to be significantly different for consumers with utilitarian versus hedonic mall shopping motivations.Proposed relationships are tested with data collected from 603 respondents through structured questionnaires. Results provide evidence that mall satisfaction is not a predictor of mall patronage and mall visit frequency, time and money spent in a mall, and repatronage intentions are separate patronage indicators that are affected by different environmental or individual factors. Specifically, consumers? perceptions of shopping mall attributes are found to have greatest influence on their level of mall satisfaction and repatronage likelihood, while personal characteristics are shown to have greater impacts on mall visit frequencies and the amount of time and money spent in malls. On the other hand, although emotional experiences at a mall is proved to be unrelated to shoppers? patronage behaviors, cognitive responses to the mall environment is reported to increase the total amount of mall spending and future mall visits significantly and activity patterns in a mall is found to be positively associated with the time spent in the mall. Finally, results are in support of the fact that mall shopping experiences of utilitarian shoppers are shaped primarily by cognitive processes while those of hedonic shoppers are influenced by affective mechanisms to a greater extent 236

Çalışmamız kronik boyun ağrılı hastalarda Mulligan mobilizasyon tekniği ve servikal stabilizasyon eğitiminin etkinliğini karşılaştırmak amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir.Kronik boyun ağrılı 36 hasta randomize olarak ev egzersizi (ortalama yaş: 31,67±9,89 yıl), Mulligan mobilizasyonu (ortalama yaş: 35,67±13,55 yıl) ve servikal stabilizasyon (ortalama yaş: 34,50±10,07 yıl) gruplarına yerleştirilmiştir. Tüm gruplardaki katılımcılar haftada 5 gün şeklinde toplam 14 seans tedavi almıştır. Çalışmamızda sonuç ölçümleri olarak ağrı şiddeti, eklem hareket açıklığı (EHA), propriyosepsiyon, baş postürü, derin boyun fleksör (DBF) kas enduransı, özür düzeyi ve boyun farkındalığı değerlendirmeleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tedavi öncesi ve sonrasında gerçekleştirilen tüm sonuç ölçümleri katılımcıların hangi grupta yer aldığını bilmeyen bir fizyoterapist tarafından gerçekleştirilmiştir.Çalışmamızda uyguladığımız üç tedavi yaklaşımı da değerlendirilen tüm parametrelerde anlamlı gelişme sağlamıştır (p0,05). Bu çalışmanın amacı, temporomandibular eklem disfonsiyonlu hastalarda denge, fonksiyonel durum, baş postürü, yaşam kalitesi ve ruhsal durumun incelenmesidir. Çalışmaya temporomandibular eklem disfonsuyonu bulunan 21 kadın (çalışma grubu; ortalaması yaş: 25,28±6,97yıl) ve sağlıklı 21 kadın (kontrol grubu; ortalaması yaş: 23,71±6,03 yıl) dahil edildi. TMD ile ilgili ağrının değerlendirmesi için Görsel Analog Skalası kullanıldı. Değerlendirmede bireylerin alt çene hareket kapasitesi dijital kaliper ile servikal mobilitesi ise bubble inklinometre ile değerlendirildi. Baş postürü değerlendirmesinde kraniovertebral açı yöntemi kullanıldı. Araştırmanın amacı; huzurevinde yaşayan inaktif yaşlılarda sandalye temelli egzersizlerin egzersiz algısı, düşme riski ve yaşam kalitesi üzerine etkisinin incelemektir.Araştırma Konya ilinde faaliyet gösteren Dr İsmail Işık Yaşlı Bakım ve Rehabilitasyon Merkezinde yaşayan huzurevi sakinleri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Katılımcıların aktivite düzeyi Uluslararası Fiziksel Aktivite Anketi ile değerlendirilmiştir. İnaktif olduğu belirlenen gönüllü katılımcılar tercihleri doğrultusunda egzersiz grubu ve kontrol grubu olarak iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Araştırmada 65 yaş ve üzerinde olan 17 egzersiz, 44 kontrol olmak üzere toplam 61 katılımcı yer almıştır. Egzersiz grubundaki katılımcılar 18 seans süren sandalye temelli egzersiz programına (STE) katılmışlardır. Kontrol grubundaki katılımcılar normal günlük yaşamına devam etmiştir. Egzersiz algısını değerlendirmek için Egzersiz Yarar/Engel anketi, düşme riskini değerlendirmek için Tinetti Denge ve Yürüme Testi ve yaşam kalitesini değerlendirmek için Nottingham Sağlık Profili kullanılmıştır. Ölçümler egzersiz programı öncesinde ve egzersiz programı bitiminde yapılmıştır. Grup içi ve gruplar arası istatistiksel analizler yapılmıştır.Egzersiz grubundaki katılımcıların egzersiz sonrası egzersiz algılarının egzersiz öncesine göre arttığı, düşme risklerinin azaldığı belirlenmiştir (p˂0.05). Ancak egzersiz sonrası yaşam kalitesinde egzersiz öncesine göre anlamlı fark saptanmamıştır (p˃0.05). Kontrol grubundaki katılımcılarda ikinci değerlendirmeler sonrası düşme riskinin ilk değerlendirmelere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ölçüde arttığı belirlenmiştir (p˂0.05). Egzersiz algısında iki değerlendirme arasında anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır (p˃0.05). Kontrol grubundaki katılımcıların yaşam kalitesi toplam puanında; ayrıca uyku, ağrı ve emosyonel reaksiyonlar alt puanlarında olumsuz yönde istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı değişiklik saptanmıştır (p˂0.05).Sonuç olarak inaktif yaşlılarda sandalye temelli egzersiz programının egzersiz yapmayan gruba göre egzersiz algısını, denge ve yürüme fonksiyonlarını artırmakta ve böylelikle düşme riskini azaltmakta etkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of chair-based exercises on exercise perception, fall risk and quality of life in inactive elderly who lives at nursing home.The study was carried out with the residents of the Dr Ismail Işık Elder Care and Rehabilitation Centre in Konya. The activity level of the participans was evaluated by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire. Volunteer participants who were determined to be inactive were divided into two groups as exercise and control according to their preferences. A total of 61 participants whom are 65 years of age and over, 17 of them exercise and 44 of them contol group, were included the study. Participants in the exercise group participated 18 sessions chair-based exercise program. Participants in the control group continued heir normal daily life. To assess the perception of exercise Exercise Benefit/Bariers Questionnaire, to assess fall risk Tinetti Balance and Gait Test, to assess quality of life Nottingham health profile were used. Measurements were made prior and the end of the exercise program. In group and intra group statiscal analyzes were performed.It was determined that the participants in the exercise group increased their exercise perception and decreased the risk of falling compared to pre-exercise exercise (p˂0.05). However there was no significant difference in terms of post exercise in the quality of life (p˃0.05). In the second evaluation of the participants in the control group compared to the first assessment the risk of falling it is determined that a statistically significantly increased (p˂0.05), however there was no significant difference in exercise perception (p˃0.05). In control group quality of life total score also sub-scores of sleep, pain and emotional reaction were detected statistically significant change in negative direction (p˂0.05).As a result, it was determined that chair-based exercise program in inactive elderly increased exercise perception, balance and gait functions thus determined to be effective in reducing the risk of falling compared non-exercise group. 116
