A correlation between nutritional status and academic achievement has been established by many studies, but students′ eating habits often do not meet nutritional recommendations. Breakfast consumption has a positive effect on cognitively demanding tasks and results in better attention and memory. The goal of this work was to develop well-balanced, nutritionally rich morning meals for students based on the concept of tapas, a combination of several different small meals composed of different ingredients. An introductory survey about students' morning eating habits was conducted among students of the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega, Croatia. Forty-six full-time students (9.50% of total number of students at the faculty) participated in the survey. Sixteen types of tapas were prepared combining ingredients which students rated as desirable (cheese, prosciutto, peppers, milk spread) and undesirable (blue fish, dry fruit, cauliflower, chickpeas) in the initial survey. Tapas (one tapa = one sample) were scored by a sensory panel of 16 students, and nutritional value of the samples was assessed by web application Program Prehrane® (The Nutrition Program). All samples except two were scored as desirable by more than 60% of students, meaning that even ingredients which have been initially scored as undesirable, can be incorporated into desirable meal when properly combined. Based on the analysis of energy and nutritional value of samples, students should combine 3 to 5 different tapas to fulfill their energy needs for breakfast or 1 to 2 different tapas for a morning snack. Developed tapas can provide a perfectly balanced meal rich in different micronutrients because they include ingredients which students normally do not include in their breakfast. Especially important ingredients were blue fish rich in unsaturated acids and selenium, nuts rich in selenium and vitamin E, and red peppers rich in vitamin C and carotenoids. Tapas containing cheese and prosciutto, students' favorite ingredients, had the highest level of sodium and fats, but not above recommended values when combined with other tapas. Las revistas D’artagnan y Skorpio ocuparon el centro del campo de las historietas de aventura en Argentina en la década de 1970. Surgida la primera en 1957 en la Editorial Columba y la segunda en 1974 en el sello Record, innovaron en el mercado editorial en cuanto a géneros y formas narrativas. Asimismo, contribuyeron a construir respectivas comunidades imaginadas de lectores como así también definieron un canon expresado en una tradición de autores y de obras al interior del campo del cómic nacional. Por tal motivo, ambas cabeceras fueron protagonistas de una determinada contemporaneidad en una etapa en que este medio funcionaba inserto en la industria editorial profesional. En este texto comparamos las líneas fundamentales de los contratos de lectura propuestos por D’artagnan y Skorpio, deteniéndonos en un aspecto de la instancia de enunciación o régimen del decir (Lucas Berone, 2014), a saber, la identidad discursiva de tapa y otros componentes paratextuales de un medio de comunicación gráfica, «que actúan sobre los planos diversos, y conectados, de lo visual y lo verbal» (Lucas Berone, 2022, p. 26). Nuestro corpus de análisis se compone de tres números de cada revista, publicados a mediados de 1978, un momento importante en sus respectivas trayectorias editoriales.

The article attempts to answer the question concerning the possibility of reinterpreting tapas and locating it in the risk society. The authors, referring to Ulrich Beck’s concept, look for the ways out of the “kingdom of shadows”, possessed by a constant sense of threat, both in the global and local sphere. The article takes a cross-sectional look at tapas in old Indian literature, looking for possibilities of its contemporary implementation on non-Indian grounds, as a response to the deteriorating psycho-physical state of 21st century society. Women have a worse prognosis after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) than men. The prognostic role of thrombus burden (TB) in influencing the sex-related differences in clinical outcomes after STEMI has not been clearly investigated. The aim of this study was to assess the sex-related differences in TB and its clinical implications in patients with STEMI. Individual patient data from the 3 major randomized clinical trials of manual thrombus aspiration were analyzed, encompassing a total of 19,047 patients with STEMI, of whom 13,885 (76.1%) were men and 4,371 (23.9%) were women. The primary outcome of interest was 1-year cardiovascular (CV) death. The secondary outcomes of interest were recurrent myocardial infarction, heart failure, all-cause mortality, stroke, stent thrombosis (ST), and target vessel revascularization at 1 year. Patients with high TB (HTB) had worse 1-year outcomes compared with those presenting with low TB (adjusted HR for CV death: 1.52; 95% CI: 1.10-2.12; P = 0.01). In unadjusted analyses, female sex was associated with an increased risk for 1-year CV death regardless of TB. After adjustment, the risk for 1-year CV death was higher only in women with HTB (HR: 1.23; 95% CI: 1.18-1.28; P < 0.001), who also had an increased risk for all-cause death and ST than men. In patients with STEMI, angiographic evidence of HTB negatively affected prognosis. Among patients with HTB, women had an excess risk for ST, CV, and all-cause mortality than men. Novel technologies and materials systems in the fields of biomimetics, biodesign, and bio-based products hold great promise for sustainable development if contributing to sustainability is a planned goal of the bioinspired product. As part of the methodological foundations for assessments, we analyzed the interface between biomimetics and sustainability research. Using the plant growth form liana as an example, we have analyzed existing biological concepts to sharpen the sustainability strategies of efficiency, consistency, and sufficiency and to derive practical design principles for more sustainable products. This chapter introduces TAPAS as a new tiered methodological framework for prospective sustainability assessment. With TAPAS and its five stages of analysis, players in the innovation process can conduct autonomous, timely, and robust assessments to identify and minimize risks and to capitalize on opportunities. We also present the Bioinspired Sustainability Assessment (BiSA), which is based on the fundamental characteristics of biological systems, namely the interplay between the functions provided and the resources required for these functions. BiSA summarizes the overall social, economic, and environmental aspects of intended functions and unintended burdens (= resource demands) and compares them with the respective reference. A biological model or the use of a biological material does not necessarily guarantee a sustainable product. Nevertheless, a contribution to sustainability must be the goal of the development process. As shown, we can learn from biological models regarding sustainability in terms of the bioinspired sustainability assessments TAPAS and BiSA and thereby gain a deeper understanding of the sustainability strategies of efficiency, consistency, and sufficiency. • Biological concepts of lianas help sharpen key sustainability strategies. • TAPAS enables robust self-reflection in early stages of the innovation process. • BiSA a life cycle inventory model allowing the direct comparison of bioinspired and conventional buildings. • Both methods strengthen the capacity of innovators to assess sustainability. The present study compared the performance of logistic regression models with that of machine learning classification models (classification trees and random forests) in the context of predicting training attrition from the Delayed Enlistment Program in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) with scores from the Tailored Adaptive Personality Assessment System (TAPAS). Performance was assessed according to the type of misclassification error and across a variety of different reasons for attrition. The base rate of attrition was low, which impeded the training process, but the machine learning models outperformed logistic regression in predicting voluntary attrition in a stratified 50% attrition sample. Examining ways of reducing physical inactivity has been at the forefront of public health research. Moreover, valid and reliable scales are needed to objectively assess physical activity (PA) avoidance. Previous research has shown that experiencing weight stigma and physical appearance-related concerns are associated with physical inactivity. However, there is currently no Thai instrument that assesses physical inactivity in relation to weight stigma. Therefore, the present study examined the psychometric properties of the Thai version of the Tendency to Avoid Physical Activity and Sport Scale (TAPAS). Thai university students ( N = 612) recruited via convenience sampling completed an online survey using SurveyMonkey between September 2022 and January 2023. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), multigroup CFA, and Pearson correlations (between TAPAS scores, age, body mass index, and time spent exercising) were used to analyze the data. The CFA showed robust psychometric properties for the Thai version of TAPAS regarding its unidimensional structure. The TAPAS was measurement invariant across sex, weight status, and daily hours of exercise. However, no significant Pearson correlations were found. Dynamic causal models (DCMs) of electrophysiological data allow, in principle, for inference on hidden, bulk synaptic function in neural circuits. The directed influences between the neuronal elements of modeled circuits are subject to delays due to the finite transmission speed of axonal connections. Ordinary differential equations are therefore not adequate to capture the ensuing circuit dynamics, and delay differential equations (DDEs) are required instead. Previous work has illustrated that the integration of DDEs in DCMs benefits from sophisticated integration schemes in order to ensure rigorous parameter estimation and correct model identification. However, integration schemes that have been proposed for DCMs either emphasize speed (at the possible expense of accuracy) or robustness (but with computational costs that are problematic in practice).In this technical note, we propose an alternative integration scheme that overcomes these shortcomings and offers high computational efficiency while correctly preserving the nature of delayed effects. This integration scheme is available as open-source code in the Translational Algorithms for Psychiatry-Advancing Science (TAPAS) toolbox and can be easily integrated into existing software (SPM) for the analysis of DCMs for electrophysiological data. While this paper focuses on its application to the convolution-based formalism of DCMs, the new integration scheme can be equally applied to more advanced formulations of DCMs (e.g. conductance based models). Our method provides a new option for electrophysiological DCMs that offers the speed required for scientific projects, but also the accuracy required for rigorous translational applications, e.g. in computational psychiatry.

Psychiatry faces fundamental challenges with regard to mechanistically guided differential diagnosis, as well as prediction of clinical trajectories and treatment response of individual patients. This has motivated the genesis of two closely intertwined fields: (i) Translational Neuromodeling (TN), which develops “computational assays” for inferring patient-specific disease processes from neuroimaging, electrophysiological, and behavioral data; and (ii) Computational Psychiatry (CP), with the goal of incorporating computational assays into clinical decision making in everyday practice. In order to serve as objective and reliable tools for clinical routine, computational assays require end-to-end pipelines from raw data (input) to clinically useful information (output). While these are yet to be established in clinical practice, individual components of this general end-to-end pipeline are being developed and made openly available for community use. In this paper, we present the Translational Algorithms for Psychiatry-Advancing Science (TAPAS) software package, an open-source collection of building blocks for computational assays in psychiatry. Collectively, the tools in TAPAS presently cover several important aspects of the desired end-to-end pipeline, including: (i) tailored experimental designs and optimization of measurement strategy prior to data acquisition, (ii) quality control during data acquisition, and (iii) artifact correction, statistical inference, and clinical application after data acquisition. Here, we review the different tools within TAPAS and illustrate how these may help provide a deeper understanding of neural and cognitive mechanisms of disease, with the ultimate goal of establishing automatized pipelines for predictions about individual patients. We hope that the openly available tools in TAPAS will contribute to the further development of TN/CP and facilitate the translation of advances in computational neuroscience into clinically relevant computational assays.

This paper focuses on recent work by the TEI Archiving, Preservation, and Access Service (TAPAS) on pedagogy with TEI, and specifically on a recent initiative called “TAPAS Classroom” focused on exploring pedagogical uses of TEI. We provide some background on TAPAS, describe several case studies involving pedagogical partners who used TAPAS in teaching, and finally describe the TAPAS Classroom initiative and its outcomes.

In this paper we develop a contrastive analysis of some aspects of Modern and Classical yoga. With this purpose we first provide a brief discussion of what has been labelled 'modern postural yoga,' addressing the transformation that, according to specialists, yoga has undergone in the last century and a half. This process, scholars argue, led to an emphasis in postural exercise and health, and located the focus of the practice on the body. We then analyse, in the second part of the work, Patañjali's Yogasūtras, its relation to āyurvedic ancient literature, and concentrate our attention on the elements related to health, the body, and the physical activity we will propose are present in Patañjali's treatise. In the third part, we discuss the respects in which the contemporary transnational yoga phenomenon represents a continuation of the ancient tradition of which Patañjali's text is an expression. This contrastive analysis provides us an excellent opportunity to examine aspects of the classical yoga treatise that have yet to play a significant role in the discussion regarding the relationship between Modern and Classical yoga. The doubly constrained entropy distribution/assignment (DEDA) problem that combines a gravity-based trip distribution (TD) problem and a traffic assignment (TA) problem has long been formulated as an optimization model and solved by two solution algorithms, i.e., partial- and full-linearization solution algorithms. As an alternative, this research first treats the DEDA problem by the augmented Lagrangian dual (ALD) method as the singly constrained entropy distribution/assignment (SEDA) problem, which in turn is addressed, via a tactical supernetwork representation, as an 'extended' 1-origin-to-1-destination TA problem. A quick-precision TA solution algorithm, − called TAPAS (Traffic Assignment by Paired Alternative Segments), − is then adopted for solutions. The proposed approach is demonstrated with a numerical example for the correctness of the result, using Lingo 11 solver and the partial linearization solution (PLS) algorithm. Moreover, through the use of TAPAS in the innermost loop, the proposed approach also has the merit of generating unique path flow solution, which is very useful in route guidance under the intelligent transportation systems environment, among other academic applications. The ancient Indian concept of “the eternal nature of things” (sanātana dharma) is a convenient meeting ground for all religions. It is a mistake to describe it as tantamount to Hinduism. Christianity and Hinduism may enter into a meaningful dialogue within its framework. Since for both of them the self‑sacrifice of God is a pivotal idea around which they build their theology. Basic difference between them lays in the fact that the Vedic sacrifice is a creative one, out of which time and space emerged and the Christian sacrifice is a redemptive one that took place within created time and space. Thus the basic question is whether these two concepts of sacrifice are homologous. In the present essay, we try to outline this extremely tantalizing problem.

In recent years, gastronomy has established itself as one of the key elements for the enhancement, sustainable and consolidation of tourist destinations. The aim of this paper is to contribute to the advancement of knowledge on gastronomic tourism in European countries, specifically in the analysis of the relationship between gastronomy, culture and tourism as the research focuses on the city of Córdoba, Spain. The methodology of this research involved conducting surveys with foreign travelers who were lunching or dining at various restaurants in the historic area, and these facilities were characterized by having in their gastronomic menus major typical culinary products of the city using the concept of tapas, i.e., the presentation of gastronomy through small portions of food. The results of the study indicate that the healthy component of the gastronomy represents the main dimension. Based on the detected dimensions, three types of international visitors are established (healthy-cultural tourist, cultural tourist and generic tourist) which are considered valid and useful for segmenting the market. This highlights the importance given to gastronomy by tourists as part of the cultural identity of a place and the satisfaction achieved through the gastronomy of the city of Córdoba. A survey of the lids of some apothecary jars (albarelli) in the Museum of Hispanic Pharmacy at the Complutense University of Madrid reveals that they were made from printers' waste. Se muestran los resultados de la caracterización del metal base; se discute acerca de la posible causa raíz que provocó la aparición de las grietas en una reparación previa; se fundamentan las decisiones tomadas para encaminar el proceso de reacondicionamiento de la tapa.
