We reinvestigated the neutron multiplicity yields of Ba-Mo, Ce-Zr, Te-Pd, and Nd-Sr from the spontaneous fission of $^{252}\mathrm{Cf}$ by (i) using both $\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ and $\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ coincidence data, (ii) using up to date level scheme structures, and (iii) crosschecking analogous energy transitions in multiple isotopes, we have achieved higher precision than previous analyses. Particular attention was given to the Ba-Mo pairs where our results clearly confirm that the Ba-Mo yield data have a second hot fission mode where 8--10, and now 11 neutron evaporation channels are observed. These are the first observations of the 11 neutron channel. These 8--11 neutron channels are observed for the first time in the Ce-Zr pairs, but are not observed in other fission pairs. The measured intensities of the second mode in Ba-Mo and Ce-Zr pairs are $\ensuremath{\sim}1.5(4)%$ and $\ensuremath{\sim}1.0(3)%$, respectively. These high neutron number evaporation modes can be an indication of hyperdeformation and/or octupole deformation in $^{143--145}\mathrm{Ba}$ and in $^{146,148}\mathrm{Ce}$ at scission to give rise to such high neutron multiplicities.

The Saint Joseph's Hospital Pharmacy-Nursing Committee sees a long list of pharmacy-nursing and drug distribution system problems still to be addressed and has no worry about running out of new business. In fact, increasing controlled substances accountability, creating a more reliable and timely process for moving intravenous fluid pumps through the inpatient system, and implementing a pharmacy-based, patient-controlled analgesia program across all of the hospitals' wards are three major issues now being addressed by the committee. At Saint Joseph's Hospital there is not a lot of unnecessary handwringing or undue stress over major pharmacy-nursing issues. Issues do exist, but there is also an experienced Pharmacy-Nursing Committee with a good track record of being able to resolve major issues. The committee takes on problems in a healthy and confident atmosphere of trust in both profession's skills and competencies. There is a respectful knowledge of each discipline's professional responsibilities and a full awareness that a quality patient drug system requires pharmacy and nursing elements working closely together. Wrestling with the heavy, modern-day, hospital pharmacy-nursing drug distribution system issues at this facility actually can be fun as a result of the confidence, camaraderie, and empathy that exists within the Pharmacy-Nursing Committee.

Semi-analytic formulations have previously been used for a number of stressing problems wherein axisymmetric structures have supported non-axisymmetric loads. The approach is here shown to be very useful for circular plates, and to have especial value for design analyses using desk top computers in which the main store is relatively small.

This paper describes the formulation and implementation of a semi-analytical procedure for enhancing finite element surface stress predictions. The efficacy of the process is demonstrated by application to a variety of test cases.

A CAD system, implemented on a powerful desktop computer, has been developed which integrates the functions of drafting, meshed surface modelling, and finite element analysis in that order. The surface modeller derives its input from orhographic views of a two-dimensional engineering drawing of plate/shell structures and the geometric data for the model is translated into a suitable form for a finite element analysis application program.

A program has been developed to interpret conventional engineering drawings of plate/shell structures as surface models. A package has been implemented on the Hewlett Packard model 9845B desk top computer for which a drafting program had already been produced.

There is no natural direct link between drafting, which is two-dimensional, and finite element analysis of real objects, which are oriented in space. This paper presents a new technique based on the development of 3D meshed-surface modelling using the Bezier technique which offers a link between these separate fields.

The formulation and implementation of a procedure for enhancing finite element stress predictions is described. The efficiency of the process is demonstrated by application to test cases.

There is a considerable body of literature which is concerned with plates having straightforward plan forms, for example circular and rectangular plates have been studied extensively. When the edges are irregular relatively little work seems to have been done, although plates having single notches have been studied and a useful bibliography is found in reference . As far as the present author is aware, the problem of plates built into irregular boundaries has not been tackled.

That the problems of extension and flexure of plates and the slow two-dimensional motion of an incompressible viscous fluid are analogous is well known. In this paper, emphasis is placed on some of the geometrical properties of the stream function and Airy stress-function surfaces. Through these properties a method is described wherein visualization of flow and stress conditions is obtained by analogy, the flexure problem of plates being the vehicle for solution.
