We define notions such as pseudo-orbit, topological shadowing, and topological chain transitivity of iterated function systems on compact uniform spaces. We prove that these notions are invariant under topological conjugacy on a compact uniform space. For an IFS on a compact uniform space with topological shadowing property, we show that the topological chain transitivity implies topological transitivity. We also show that in a connected compact uniform space, notions such as topological chain mixing, totally topological chain transitive, topological chain transitive, and topological chain recurrent are equivalent.

A wireless sensor network is a combination of tiny sensing nodes with minimal energy capabilities. The sensors are installed across field to monitor parameters such as noise, temperature etc for long time. WSN has wide range of applications such as military, health care industry etc. It has advantages such as easy deploying, lower cost and fault tolerance. Since the energy capabilities are minimal, we can take some measures to improve network capabilities. To overcome the issue, we need to concentrate on the performance of the routing protocol while designing the architecture. The aim of WSN is to transfer data by increasing the lifetime of the network, throughput, and number of Cluster Heads (CH). We take DEEC protocol in comparison with the proposed design of M-DEEC which helps in minimizing the energy consumption of the nodes in network and maximize the network lifetime. In M-DEEC is a modified energy distribution algorithm which uses energy aware adaptive clustering protocol in heterogeneous WSN. Each node will carry over a remaining energy over the network which can be further used as reference to increase the lifetime.

Infections such as COVID-19 are affecting the entire world and measures such as social distancing can be done so that the contact among people is reduced. IoT devices usage keeps on increasing every day thereby connecting the environments physically. Among the current technologies, machine learning can be employed along with IoT devices. Predicting the risk related with COVID-19, a novel method employing machine learning is proposed. Random forest and Naive Bayes classifier are used for the prediction from the data collected with the help of sensors. Groups of people are recognized and the disease impact can be reduced for the particular group with more population. The accuracy of RF is 97% and for NB it is 99%.

Sixty-four sera samples were collected from 25- and 45-days old puppies [16 puppies each from vaccinated (Group I) and unvaccinated (Group II) dam] brought to Immunization Unit, Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital, Chennai. The samples were subjected to functional antibody assay (SNT) and commercially available Indirect ELISA to know the kinetics of maternal derived antibody (MDA) against canine distemper. The mean MDA titre in Group I puppies were found as 4.38 ± 1.41 and the ELISA titre were 30 - 60 and 10–30 AU on 25 and 45 days of age respectively whereas the Group II (MDA-UV) had titre value of0.33 ± 0.60 and 0 by SNT (SN50) and ≤ 10 and ≤ 3 AU by Indirect ELISA on 25 and 45 days of pups respectively. Background: Canine distemper (CD) is a highly fatal disease in dogs. Hence, it is important to document the factors which are significantly correlated with the poor prognosis amongst CD infected dogs to develop a prognostic index. Methods: Forty dogs positive for CD virus by nested reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (nRT-PCR) were included in our study at infectious Disease Unit (IDU), Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital, Chennai between March 2021 and August 2022. Two different herbal drugs were tried in two groups of dogs where each group comprised of 20 dogs and clinical responses were observed. Epidemiological and clinical data were collected and analysed between survival and non-survival groups using chi-square test. The statistically significant factors were further analysed by logistic regression to identify their strong association with the event of death. Kaplan-Meier curves for survival were constructed to explore differences in the survival time for different dogs. Result: The overall case fatality rate was found to be 55% (22/40). The event of death due to CD was observed in young dogs having ocular discharge with strong correlation but the chances of survival were found to increase when age advanced.

SARS-CoV-2 transmission in India in 2020-2022 was driven predominantly by Wild (Wuhan-Hu-1and D614G), Delta, and Omicron variants. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of infections on the humoral immune response and cross-reactivity to spike proteins of Wuhan-Hu-1, Delta, C.1.2., and Omicron.Residual archival sera (N=81) received between January 2020 and March 2022 were included. Infection status was inferred by a positive SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR and/or serology (anti-N and anti-S antibodies) and sequencing of contemporaneous samples (N=18) to infer lineage. We estimated the levels and cross-reactivity of infection-induced sera including Wild, Delta, Omicron as well as vaccine breakthrough infections (Delta and Omicron).We found ~2-fold increase in spike-specific IgG antibody binding in post-Omicron infection compared to the pre-Omicron period, whilst the change in pre- and post-Delta infections were similar. Further investigation of Omicron-specific humoral responses revealed primary Omicron infection as an inducer of cross-reactive antibodies against predecessor variants, in spite of weaker degree of humoral response compared to Wuhan-Hu-1 and Delta infection. Intriguingly, Omicron vaccine-breakthrough infections when compared with primary infections, exhibited increased humoral responses against RBD (7.7-fold) and Trimeric S (Trimeric form of spike protein) (34.6-fold) in addition to increased binding of IgGs towards previously circulating variants (4.2 - 6.5-fold). Despite Delta breakthrough infections showing a higher level of humoral response against RBD (2.9-fold) and Trimeric S (5.7-fold) compared to primary Delta sera, a demonstrably reduced binding (36-49%) was observed to Omicron spike protein.Omicron vaccine breakthrough infection results in increased intensity of humoral response and wider breadth of IgG binding to spike proteins of antigenically-distinct, predecessor variants.
