Bu araştırma, bankalarda işe alım, eğitim, performans ve kariyer yönetimi süreçlerinde uygulanmakta olan oyunlaştırma faaliyetlerinin algılanan başarısında bir farklılık olup olmadığını anlamak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Oyunlaştırmanın kullanımı hakkında bilgi edinmek için öncelikle oyunlaştırma uygulayan 6 özel bankalardan 7 yetkili ile görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Görüşmelerden elde edilen bilgilere göre, işe alım süreçlerinde oyunlaştırma kullanımında adayların anlık olarak ilgisinin çekilmesi ve değerlendirilmesi, eğitim sürecinde belirlenen konu hakkında çalışanın bilgisinin arttırılması ve verilen eğitimin pekiştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Performans yönetimi sürecinde çalışanlarının performanslarını arttırmak amacıyla 3-6 aylık dönemlerde oyunlaştırma uygulamalarından yararlanılmaktadır. Yapılan araştırmada işe alım ile eğitim süreçlerinde oyunlaştırma kullanımı kısa vadeli uygulanması nedeniyle birinci grup olarak tanımlanmıştır. Performans yönetimi ve kariyer yönetiminde oyunlaştırma kullanımı ise daha uzun vadeli uygulandığı için ikinci grup olarak belirlenmiştir. Belirlenen iki gruptan toplamda 345 çalışana “Oyunlaştırma İçin Oyunsu Deneyim Ölçeği (GAMEX)” uygulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak performans ve kariyer yönetimi alanlarında uygulanmakta olan oyunlaştırma faaliyetlerinin işe alım ve eğitim alanında uygulanmakta olan oyunlaştırma faaliyetlerine göre çalışanlar tarafından yaratıcı düşünme ve harekete geçirme algısının daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. This research was conducted to understand whether there is a difference in the perception of the success of gamification implementations in recruitment, training and performance management, and career management processes in the banking sector. First of all, interviews were carried out with 7 authorities of 6 private banks which apply gamification. According to the information obtained from the interviews, banks use gamification in the recruitment process to attract interest as momentary and evaluate candidates, and increase and reinforce the knowledge of the employees with practices which takes approximately 30 minutes in the training process. In the performance management process, mostly gamification is used in 3-6 months periods, in order to increase the employees’ performance. In the career management process, gamification is applied to talent management to retain employees, when a branch or unit change is made, or in leadership academies. In the research, the use of gamification in the process of recruitment and training processes was defined as the first group owing to it yielded applied in the short term; in performance and career management has been defined as the second group, as it appears to applied in the longer term. “Gameful Experience in Gamification Scale(GAMEX)” was applied to 345 employees from two determined groups. The results show that it is seen that gamification implementations use in performance management and career management processes have a higher perception of creative thinking and activation factor than gamification implementations use in recruitment and training processes.

The aim of this study is to examine whether there is a relationship between employees’ perceptions of gratitude and perceptions of psychological capital, and whether expressing gratitude in written form for 21 days’ changes employee’s perception of gratitude and psychological capital. This study comprises of 3 phases; in the first phase on-line psychological capital and gratitude scale were applied to 115 employees, and then in the second phase, the volunteers were asked to write three items they were grateful for that day by clicking on the link sent to them for 21 days. In the last stage, psychological capital and gratitude scales were applied again to the 21 subjects who list their gratitude for 21 days. In order to motivate the participants to participate in the experiment for 21 days, video training on “Coping with Stress” was given as a gift to the subjects who continued to work. At the end of the 21 days, the subjects who continued for 21 days were asked by e-mail about the changes they observed in themselves. As a result of the study, it has been found out that there is a significant relationship between employees’ perceptions of gratitude and psychological capital and writing gratitude for 21 days changes the subjects’ perceptions of gratitude and psychological capital positively., Bu çalışmanın amacı çalışanların minnettarlık algıları ile psikolojik sermaye algıları arasında bir ilişki olup olmadığını ve minnettarlığı yazılı olarak 21 gün boyunca ifade etmenin çalışanın minnettarlık ve psikolojik sermaye algısını değiştirip değiştirmediğini incelemektir. Üç aşamadan oluşan bu çalışmada, ilk aşamada 115 çalışana çevrim içi psikolojik sermaye ve minnettarlık ölçeği uygulanmıştır. İkinci aşamada deneklerden 21 gün boyunca kendilerine gönderilen bağlantıya tıklayarak çıkan sayfaya o gün için minnettar oldukları üç maddeyi ilgili kutucuğa yazmaları istenmiştir. Son aşamada ise 21 gün boyunca listeleme yapmaya devam eden 21 deneğe tekrar psikolojik sermaye ve minnettarlık ölçekleri uygulanmıştır. Katılımcıların deneye 21 gün boyunca iştirak etmesini motive etmek amacıyla çalışmaya devam eden deneklere “stresle baş etme” video eğitimi hediye edilmiştir. Ayrıca 21 gün boyunca çalışmaya devam eden deneklere bu süre sonunda e-posta yolu ile kendilerinde gözlemledikleri değişimler olup olmadığı, var ise bunların neler olduğu sorulmuştur. Çalışmanın sonucunda minnettarlık ile psikolojik sermaye algısı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu ve minnettarlığı 21 gün boyunca yazmanın, deneklerin minnettarlık ve psikolojik sermaye algılarını pozitif yönde değiştirdiği tespit edilmiştir.

Increased susceptibility to infection is reported in patients with beta-thalassemia major due to toxic effect of iron on neutrophil functions and reticuloendothelial system dysfunction. This study investigated the association between the neutrophil apoptosis and frequency of infection episodes, desferrioxamine treatment, and serum ferritin levels in patients with beta-thalassemia major. A total of 35 children diagnosed with beta-thalassemia major were enrolled. Group 1 consisted patients who were receiving desferrioxamine (DFO) and group 2 consisted of patients who did not start to receive DFO. A total of 15 healthy children were enrolled to serve as a control group. Frequency of infection episodes within a year was noted from hospital records. In all patients, the same method based on flow cytometry (annexin V labeled with FITC) was used to assess neutrophil apoptosis. Neutrophil count and percentage of apoptotic neutrophils did not differ significantly between the groups. When frequency of infection episodes among groups was evaluated, frequency of infection episodes of the patients who were receiving DFO was significantly higher than in the other groups. When correlation between neutrophil apoptosis and frequency of infection episodes, serum ferritin levels, and neutrophil count of the patients was analyzed according to groups, no significant correlation was found. The results indicate that high serum ferritin level and DFO use in patients with beta-thalassemia major do not enhance neutrophil apotosis in vivo and enhanced neutrophil apoptosis cannot be a possible cause for increased susceptibility to infections in these patients.

Safflower (Carthamus persicus Wild), is rich in terms of linoleic acid and oleic acid and is used to obtain low saturated fatty acid. In order to propagate safflower in vitro, shoot tip explants were cultured in MS medium containing different combinations of BAP and NAA supplemented with 3% sucrose and solidified with 0.8% agar. The results showed a significant interaction between BAP and NAA combinations for callus formation, shoot and root regeneration, number of shoots and roots per explant, shoot and root length. Maximum shoot regeneration was noted in MS medium containing 0.50 mg/L BAP + 0.25 mg/L NAA. Maximum callus formation was determined in MS medium supplemented with 1 mg/L BAP + 1 mg/L NAA and 2 mg/L BAP + 1mg/L NAA. The regenerated shoots were rooted on MS medium containing 1 mg/L IBA., Aspir, linoleik asit ve oleik asitce zengin; yenilebilir doymamış yağ asitlerinin elde edilmesinde kullanılması nedeniyle önemli bir endüstriyel bitkidir. Bu çalışmada aspirin in vitro’ da çoğaltımı amacıyla sürgün ucu eksplantları 0.25- 0.50- 1- 2 mg/L BAP ve 0.25- 0.50-1 mg/L NAA’ nın farklı kombinasyonlarını içeren, %3 sakkaroz ilave edilmiş ve % 0.8 agar ile katılaştırılmış MS ortamında kültüre alınmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları kallus oluşumu, rejenere sürgün yüzdesi, eksplant başına sürgün sayısı, sürgün uzunluğu, eksplant başına kök sayısı ve kök uzunluğu için BAP-NAA arasındaki kombinasyoların etkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Maksimum sürgün rejenerasyonu 0.50 mg/L BAP + 0.25 mg/L NAA içeren MS besin ortamında, maksimum kallus oluşumu ise 1 mg/L BAP + 1 mg/L NAA ve 2 mg/L BAP + 1mg/L NAA içeren MS besin ortamında kaydedilmiştir. Rejenere sürgünler 1 mg/L IBA içeren MS besin ortamında köklendirilmiştir.

Lentil is an important food legume crop that is very recalcitrant to shoot regeneration and rooting under in vitro conditions. This study aimed to develop efficient and reliable protocol for in vitro plant regeneration. The reulsts of this study showed that In this context, 16 Turkish lentil cultivars were shoot tip, stem , hypocotyl, cotyledon and root as explants. The MS medium containg 4 mg/l BAP induced maximum number (8.25) of shoots per shoot tip explant of cv. Yesil 21. Whereaas, maximum number (28.33) of shoots per cotyledon explant of cv. Ozbek was induced on MS medium containing 1 mg/l IBA. However,IBA derived shoots were easy to root on MS medium containing 1.87 mg/l NAA. The regenerated explants were transferred to greenhouse for acclimatisation, flowering and seed set. It was concluded that in vitro shoot regeneration of lentils (Lens culinaris Medikus) was strongly influenced by the type of explant, plant growth regulator concentration and combinations.

The methanol extracts (3.3, 5.0 and 10.0 %) of Berberis vulgaris L., Mentha longfolia (L) Huds., Salvia limbata C.A. Mey., Artemisia absinthium L., Achillea biebersteinii Afan., Origanum vulgare L., Medicago sativa L., Vicia cracea (Desf.) B. Fedtsch were applied to maize (Zea mays L.) seeds to determine their effects on radical, plumule growth, contents of phytohormones [giberellic acid equivalents (GAs), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), trans-zeatin (t-Z) and abscisic acid (ABA)], carbohydrates (glucose, fructose and sucrose), fatty acids, (palmitic acid and oleic acid), mitotic index and chromosome abnormalities as compared to control. The 5.0 and 10.0 % extracts inhibited the germination. The extracts also decreased the length of plumule and radicals. However, there were variable effects on plant hormones, fatty acids and sugar levels. Plant extracts decreased the mitotic index and also caused abnormalities in chromosomes. © International Allelopathy Foundation 2008.

Sonuç olarak bu çalışmada elde edilen bulgular gösteriyor ki :1 — Bir doku hormonu olan PGE2-benzeri maddeler dişin, dentoalveolar dokunun iltihabi değişikliklerinde önemli birer periferik mediyatörüdürler.2 — İltihabı ve ağrı ile beraber seyreden bütün dentoalveolar dokuda yüksek seviyede PGE3-benzeri madde tespit edilmiştir.3 — PGE2-benzeri maddeler ağrıdan direkt olarak sorumlu olmayıp bradikinin etkisini potansiye etmektedir.

Objective: To retrospectively evaluate the clinical findings, laboratory data, management, and outcome in a group of Turkish children diagnosed with rare coagulation deficiencies (RCDs) between January 1999 and June 2009. Material and Methods: The Turkish Society of Pediatric Hematology-Hemophilia-Thrombosis-Hemostasis subcommittee designed a Microsoft Excel-based questionnaire for standardized data collection and sent it to participating institutions. Results: In total, 156 patients from 12 pediatric referral centers were included in the study. The cost common RCDs were as follows: FVII (n = 53 [34%]), FV (n = 24 [15.4%]), and FX (n = 23 [14.7%]) deficiency. The most common initial finding in the patients was epistaxis, followed by ecchymosis, and gingival bleeding. Conclusion: Initial symptoms were mucosal bleeding, and fresh frozen plasma (FFP) and tranexamic acid were the most commonly used treatments. We think that prophylactic treatment used for hemophilia patients should be considered as an initial therapeutic option for patients with rare factor deficiencies and a severe clinical course, and for those with a factor deficiency that can lead to severe bleeding.

Due to the weight considerations, use of light weighted composites for body armor hascontinued to increase over years. Nevertheless, determining the damage capability of composite laminatesagainst ballistic impact is not a simple problem as determining elastic stiffness of the armor due to the complexdamage modes, which can occur in composites through impact phenomenon. This study presents the effects ofimpactor velocity to penetration mechanism.
