- Abstract
Embedded ring injury is a rare condition often associated with mental illness or cognitive disorders. Clinical presentation varies from simple oedema to serious neurovascular deficits. We report the unusual case of a 69-year-old woman presenting with two embedded ring injuries. The rings had been in place for over 20 years, however she had no past medical history of psychiatric or neurological disorder. A non-invasive approach was decided to treat the patient by simply cutting the rings allowing to resolve the situation without further morbidity., (Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Masson SAS.
