Latine university students represent 21.7% of the U.S. undergraduate student body, yet limited research explores their experiences with cultural stressors, self-esteem, and identity. This study examines the relationship between daily self-esteem and negative context of reception, moderated by two identity processes: normative identity style to host society and country of origin. Using multilevel models, we found that perceived negative context of reception one day predicts lower self-esteem the next day. Normative identity style to country of origin significantly moderated this relationship, exacerbating the impact, while normative style to host society showed no significant effect. In the present paper, we define and study a new family of holomorphic functions which involve the Bazilevič functions and the λ -pseudo-starlike functions. We establish coefficient estimates for the first four determinants of the symmetric Toeplitz matrices T 2 (2) , T 2 (3) , T 3 (1) and T 3 (2) for the functions in this family. By using the most generalized gamma function (parametric gamma function, or p-gamma function), we present the most generalized Rabotnov function, called the p-Rabotnov function. Consequently, new fractal–fractional differential and integral operators of a complex variable in an open unit disk are defined and investigated analytically and geometrically. We address some inequalities involving the generalized fractal–fractional integral operator in some spaces of analytic functions. A novel complex fractal–fractional integral transform (CFFIT) is presented. A normalization of the proposed CFFIT is observed in the open unit disk. The present study explored the role of perceived societal norms of multiculturalism in the engagement of cultural identity styles (hybridising‐HIS and altenating‐AIS) and, in turn, their impact on bicultural identity consolidation and cultural identity conflict. We examined 293 Chinese Americans' perceptions about the extent to which culturally diverse groups are in contact with one another (multicultural contact); whether diversity is valued and appreciated (multicultural ideology); and whether there are policies and practices that support and accommodate diversity (multicultural policies and practices) in the United States. Results from a path analysis showed that multicultural ideology was negatively associated with AIS and cultural identity conflict. Multicultural contact was positively associated with HIS and bicultural identity consolidation. Multicultural policies and practices had no significant associations. The findings underscore the important role of perceived societal acceptance of multicultural ideology and perceived norms of multicultural contact in managing cultural identities. Furthermore, the study highlights that perceived multiculturalism norms as societal‐level factors combined with individual‐level cultural identity styles can influence the identity outcomes of multicultural individuals. Further research into the role of perceived societal norms for both majority and cultural minority individuals in identity integration is warranted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A picture is worth more than a thousand words--in mathematics too. Many students fail in learning mathematics because, in some cases, teachers do not offer the necessary visualization. Nowadays technology overcomes this problem: computer aided instruction is one of the most efficients methods in teaching mathematics. In this article we try to discuss some methods of visualizing complex roots, with examples. The first method presented is the auxiliary polynomial method, followed by the the tangent line method. One of the most interesting but less known method is Lill's circle. Another method discussed in the article is Domain Coloring via the Color Wheel.

In this paper we study the Hadamard product properties of certain class of analytic functions with varying arguments defined by the convolution of Sǎlǎgean and Ruscheweyh derivative.

Purpose: Physical activity (PA) has been widely studied for its individual and societal benefits, but research on how organisations can effectively promote workplace physical activity (WPA) programmes is lacking. This article aims to examine the organisational-level benefits and value drivers of corporate PA programmes whilst also exploring the factors that motivate employees to participate in these programmes. Design/methodology/approach: The authors used the self-determination theory (SDT) and the Hungarian Sport Motivation Scale (H-SMS) – which was modified and validated from the original English SMS scale, which is one of the six most highly cited motivation questionnaires in sports – to assess employees' motivation towards sports. In conjunction, in-depth interviews with company representatives were conducted to create a mind map outlining the impacts and advantages of WPA programmes. The study involved interviews with 13 managers in Hungary and a survey completed by 728 employees. Findings: The findings of the authors' study indicate that WPA programmes had positive effects on employee engagement, turnover reduction and absenteeism. However, the authors' results also revealed that employee motivation to participate in these programmes was primarily driven by external factors, such as identified and introjected regulators, indicating a low level of intrinsic motivation for sports in the workplace. It is important to classify employees based on their motivation and behaviour to design and promote effective PA programmes in the workplace and to increase participation rates. Originality/value: The authors' findings indicate the importance of aligning WPA programme promotion with employee motivation. This can encourage organisations to initiate their programmes, address participation challenges and strive for higher engagement rates. Older adults represent a large and growing section of Aotearoa New Zealand's population. Longitudinal research on experiences of later life enables understanding of both the capabilities with which people are ageing, and their determinants. The Health, Work, and Retirement (HWR) study has to date conducted eight biennial longitudinal postal surveys of health and well-being with older people (n = 11,601 respondents; 49.4% of Māori descent). Survey data are linked at the individual-level to other modes of data collection, including cognitive assessments, life course history interviews, and national health records. This article describes the HWR study and its potential to support our understanding of ageing in Aotearoa New Zealand. We present an illustrative analysis of data collected to date, using indicators of physical health-related functional ability from n = 10,728 adults aged 55–80 to describe mean trajectories of physical ability with age, by birth cohort and gender. As the original participant cohort recruited in 2006 reach ages 71–86 in 2022, future directions for study include expanding the study's core longitudinal measures to include follow-up assessments of cognitive functioning to understand factors predicting cognitive decline, and linkage to national datasets to identify population-level profiles of risk for conditions such as frailty.
