Static form errors due to in-process deflections is a major concern in flank milling of thin-walled parts. To increase both productivity and part geometric accuracy, there is a need to predict and control these form errors. In this work, a modelling framework for prediction of the cutting force-induced form errors, or thickness errors, during flank milling of a thin-walled workpiece is proposed. The modelled workpiece geometry is continuously updated to account for material removal and the reduced stiffness matrix is calculated for nodes in the engagement zone. The proposed modelling framework is able to predict the resulting thickness errors for a thin-walled plate which is cut on both sides. Several cutting strategies and cut patterns using constant z-level finishing are studied. The modelling framework is used to investigate the effect of different cut patterns, machining allowance, cutting tools and cutting parameters on the resulting thickness errors. The framework is experimentally validated for various cutting sequences and cutting parameters. The predicted thickness errors closely correspond to the experimental results. It is shown from numerical evaluations that the selection of an appropriate cut pattern is crucial in order to reduce the thickness error. This thesis focuses on the development of a lifting device for roof mounted tents at the requestof Thule with the focus on improving the ergonomics during installation and removal of roofmounted tents on vehicles, while also enabling the process for one to two users. The work isstructured according to the Double Diamond model and uses established product developmentmethods to ensure a systematic process.The preliminary study consists of an analysis of ergonomic risk factors during heavy liftingusing the Swedish Work Environment Agency's (Arbetsmiljöverket) assessment template andRapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA). These tools were used to evaluate current users ownsolutions for lifting roof mounted tents.After screening and selecting developed concepts, an existing plasterboard lift was modified tocreate a prototype. Modeling work was carried out in SolidWorks, where various componentsand modifications were visualized and tested before being integrated into the plasterboard lift.The final prototype integrates functions that enable tilt and lifting of the roof tent, whichreduces the need for manual lifting and thus the risk of physical damage because of overloadsas well as minimizing needed storage space.The prototype was tested and evaluated where the results showed an improvement inergonomics and ease of use during lifting, facilitating movement of roof mounted tents betweenvehicles and storage while being able to be stored together with the tent with minimal impacton space requirements.Lastly, the work suggests further strength tests and investigation of better suited lift functionsfor future development to improve safety and lifting device efficiency., Detta examensarbete fokuserar på utvecklingen av en lyftanordning för taktält på begäran avThule med huvudfokus att förbättra ergonomin vid på- och avmontering av taktält på fordonoch förenkla momentet för en till två personer. The rapid development of esports over the last two decades has been in some ways a challenge to the established sporting world. However, esports has largely developed according to the sportification model (Guttman, 1978), over time becoming progressively more organised, specialised, standardised, regimented, and rationalised. Competitive computer gaming is today following a similar trajectory as other sports have done in the past and has gone from being a leisure activity to becoming a competitive activity with organisations, professional players, and international competitions. This chapter gives a closer look at the ongoing sportification of esports in general and, more specifically, how this process has played out in Sweden. Similarities and differences in the sportification of esports and a more traditional sport - cross-country skiing - will be analysed. How have esports worked with organisation, regimentation, rationalisation, and standardisation? This thesis aims to provide a deeper understanding of how animals in zoos were constructed through Swedish news journalism in 2022. To answer the research question, the study uses concepts such as social constructionism and foucaultian discourse analysis and qualitative method in the form of discourse analysis. We have been able to identify six main themes which together create an understanding of the construction of animals in zoos. The first is a recurring personification of the animals. Simultaneously, there is a widespread collectivization of animals, which shows that the aforementioned personification is not consistent and that animals are additionally grouped and “de-individualized” on repeated occasions. The third theme is about entertainment, which mainly shows itself through humorous descriptions. Another clear feature is that animals are described as dangerous, but only in cases where they are beyond human control. This theme is strongly connected with how the animals' home and place in society is portrayed, which is that they belong in zoos. Finally, it appears that representatives from zoos are given a lot of space in news reporting and that they are mainly the ones who speak for the animals.

Sport has often had an important role in times of crisis, but the Covid-19 pandemic is another matter. Sport was heavily affected world-wide on all levels. In Sweden, gathering people for endurance events conflicted with the Covid-19 restrictions. Some events were cancelled, but many tried to adapt. What adaptation strategies to Covid-19 have Swedish event organizers used? What role have digital tools played in their adaptation? What economic impacts did these events experience? We argue that the challenges posed by Covid-19 have accelerated the digitization of endurance events and highlighted the tensions between commercial and non-commercial actors in sports due to the differences in financial structure and eligibility for economic support. We thereby contribute to the growing research on how sport events in general have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, and specifically in the context of Sweden’s somewhat exceptional response to the pandemic.

Syftet med projektet är att analysera flödet i slutbearbetningen av avgränsad motorkomponent, med målet att hitta områden där tiden för manuellt arbete potentiellt kan reduceras med hjälp av automatiseringsutrustning. Projektet följer uppsatta delmål där analys av arbetsmoment presenteras, och tre områden som utför manuellt arbete väljs ut. Slutmål är presentation av ett utvalt område med potential för automatisering, där layoutförslag, funktionsbeskrivning och investeringskalkyl sammanställs. En nulägesanalys över detaljens olika operationer på företagets avdelningar för slutbearbetning genomförs. Intervjuer med personal på företaget ger information kring processen och lägger grund för analysen. För prioritering av tillverkningsområden används metoder för att jämföra alternativ mot varandra, i syfte att välja ut manuella arbetsmoment som kan avhjälpas med automatisk utrustning. Två automationsförslag visualiseras med programvara för simulering av robotutrustning, med syfte att beskriva och presentera layouten och funktionen. Undersökningar kring förslagens investeringskostnad resulterar i ekonomisk kalkyl som kan motivera införandet av automationsförslagen. Resultatet av projektet visar efter analys att automatiseringsförslaget som rekommenderas både är socialt och ekonomiskt försvarbart. Automation av föreslaget område kan bidra till att ergonomiskt utmanande arbetsmoment för operatörer kan reduceras., The purpose of the project is to analyze the workflow in the final processing operations of a specific engine component, with the goal of identifying areas where manual labor potentially can be reduced using automation equipment. The project follows predetermined objectives, which include presenting an analysis of the operations and selecting three areas where manual work is performed. The goal of the project is to recommend an area with potential for automation, along with layout proposals, investment cost and functional description. A current state analysis of the operations in the company's final processing operation is performed. Interviews with company staff form the basis for the analysis and provides information about the process. Methods for comparing alternatives are used to select operations that has manual work which can be improved through automation equipment. Two automation layouts are visualized using software for simulating robot equipment. This visualizes the layout and function of the suggestions of automation. Investment costs of the proposed suggestions are analyzed. The result of the project is that the recommended automation proposal is both socially and economically justifiable. The automation also contributes to reducing ergonomically challenging work tasks for operators.

The growth of sports and the increasing levels of participation, performance, and international competition are undeniable. This development has undoubtedly contributed to the tremendous growth of the sports economy during the last 100 years, as well as an impressive increase in results and performance levels in most sports. It is in turn linked to the comprehensive competition logic that drives sportification of performance and practice in predominantly Western sport, rooted in the cultivation of able bodies, and maximum performance. However, as sports have developed in tandem with the global industrial economy it is also facing similar problems. Over the last decade, sport organisations, supporters, athletes, scholars, and others have begun to problematise the consequences of an ever-growing sports economy and the constant strive for increasing performance levels, growing events, and intensified travel. This introduction will present an overview of how the logics of practice guided by performance, and the sportification model, are linked to potentially problematic aspects of sports in relation to the environment. In machining, the heat flow into the workpiece during the cutting process is often a major concern. The temperature rise can lead to substantial residual stresses or elastic in-process deformations which may result in the dimensional tolerance requirements being violated. In the present study a modelling strategy is developed for determination of the heat load during indexable drilling. The heat load on the workpiece is determined from 3D thermomechanical Coupled Eulerian Lagrangian analyses of orthogonal turning for various chip thicknesses and cutting speeds. The determined heat load is then transferred to a 3D transient heat transfer analysis of the indexable drilling process for the determination of the temperature field. Thereby, this modelling technique avoids the complex cutting process that is performed in real cutting simulations and thereby reducing the computational complexity of the problem considerably. In the late 19th century, football entered Sweden's coastal cities, such as Malmö, Halmstad and Gothenburg. The sport grew quickly, and the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) was founded in 1904. In the following decades, the popularity of football increased and in the 1950s it was perceived as the national sport of Sweden. However, at that time the sport was non-professional and in practice only for men. In order to keep up with hardening international competition, SvFF overturned the amateur regulations in 1967. Professionalisation was slow due to the lack of revenue but accelerated for male players after the Bosman ruling in 1995. Women's football developed gradually from the 1960s and in 1972 a national league organised by SvFF was formed. Youth football also grew substantially. Despite the differences in resources football became well-established amongst both men and women. However, the tensions between idealism, voluntarism and inclusion on the one hand, and commercialism, professionalism and selection, on the other hand, remain. This is best exemplified by the 51% rule, which states that clubs must be majority-owned by the members. This is hailed by some as a guarantee for democratic football, while others argue that it restricts clubs’ financial development.

Since the dawn of modern sport, Swedish athletes and leaders have made a significant impact in the global sport community, and Swedish scientists and entrepreneurs have contributed to the development of coaching and training. But when it comes to football, Sweden has rather taken influence from others. Two names contradict this relative anonymity - Sven-Goran Eriksson and Pia Sundhage. They both have had long and successful careers which have brought Swedish coaching ideals to an international audience. The purpose of this study is to investigate how their respective coaching philosophies have developed over time and how they have been shaped by education, previous experiences, and influences in the coaches' own lives. The developments of Eriksson's and Sundhage's coaching philosophies are analysed through the lens of theories about scientisation, specialisation and professionalisation. We build on their own publications, as well as interviews and archival sources.
