The 16-membered macrolide FD-891 exerts cytotoxicity toward several cancer cell lines. In this study, we showed that FD-891 induces apoptosis in various human cancer cell lines. Human leukemia Jurkat cells were highly sensitive to FD-891, exhibiting caspase activation and mitochondrial release of cytochrome c into the cytosol at early time points after exposure to FD-891. By contrast, Jurkat cells deficient in caspase-8 were resistant to FD-891-induced apoptosis and manifested little induction of cytochrome c release as well as caspase-9 processing. Consistent with these results, the overexpression of the Bcl-2 family member Bcl-x(L) or the caspase-8 modulator c-FLIP(L) markedly prevented FD-891-induced apoptosis. These results clearly demonstrate that FD-891 triggers caspase-8-dependent mitochondrial release of cytochrome c and subsequent apoptosis in Jurkat cells.

Searches for rare and forbidden neutral decays of η mesons are performed at the GAMS-4π facility. A charge-exchange reaction at an initial momentum of 32.5 GeV/c was used as a source of 3.7 × 106 η mesons. The following upper limits are established at a 90% confidence level: Br(η → 3γ) < 1.6 × 10−4, Br(η → 4γ) < 2.8 × 10−4, Br(η → π0π0) < 3.5 × 10−4, Br(η → π0π0γ) < 1.7 × 10−3, Br(η → π0π0γγ) < 4.0 × 10−3, Br(η → 3π0γ) < 2.4 × 10−4, and Br(η → 4π0) < 2.0 × 10−5.

The ηη system produced in charge-exchange π−p interaction at a momentum of 32.5 GeV/c is studied in an experiment performed with the GAMS-4π spectrometer at the 70-GeV accelerator of the Institute for High-Energy Physics (IHEP, Protvino). 丸石製作所は1991年よりドイツのREKER社と技術提携をしていて平判スキッド自動包装機（Pallet Shrink―Packing Machine），スキッド紙粉除去装置（Pallet Dust Remover）等の製品を製造・販売している。今回はその中でパレット―ロボット装置を紹介する。パレット―ロボットとは全自動のフォーク式スキッド搬送システムである。その特徴としては完全無人運転が可能なことは勿論のこと，取出し搬送中もスキッドの上部を押えているので荷崩れの発生がなく安定した品質を保てる。また回転トラバース機構により90°或いは180°のターンも可能なので複数配列のスキッドをどの位置からも取出す事が出来る。そのようなことからレイアウトによってはシーター3台までのスキッド搬出を1台の装置で対応可能になっている。このように搬送ラインにおける省力化及び高品質化に有効な手段である。

A micro-gap wire chamber (MGWC), a new tracking detector has been developed for use in high-rate experiments. A prototype of the MGWC of a sensitive area of 30 10 cm 2 is made with a printed circuit board and finely spaced round thin wires stretched with a narrow gap of 50mm between anode wires and cathode strips. Maruishi has already delivered 23 Full Synchro Folio Sheeters not only in Japan but around the world.Bielomatik has presented a new system for reject free pile change for folio sheeters. The “Air-gap” system (Patent pending) works with one overlapping unit on a single paper transport track. By altering the degree of overlapping and using carefully directed blowing and suction air, Bielomatik has succeeded with the “Air-gap” system in separating the overlapped paper flow without using any mechanical elements.This creates a gap. which can then be used for reject-free pile change with single piler and nonstop pallet changer or tandem piler. The “Air-gap” system guarantees no marking of the overlapped paper flow. This is of especial interest to the fine paper industry.

A partial wave analysis of the centrally produced π 0 π 0 channel has been performed in pp collisions using an incident beam momentum of 450 GeV/c. An unambiguous physical solution has been found. Evidence is found for the f 0 (980), f 0 (1300) and f 0 (1500) in the the S -wave. and the f 2 (1270) is observed dominantly in the D 0 − -wave. In addition, there is evidence for a broad enhancement in the D -wave below 1 GeV.

The πpi-system produced in the charge exchange π−p-reaction at 100 GeV/c has been studied. The experiment was performed at the CERN SPS accelerator with the multiphoton hodoscope spectrometer GAMS-4000. A partial wave analysis was carried out in the mass range from 0.8 GeV to 3.0 GeV at −t < 0.2 (GeV/c)2 with the S, D, G and J waves. The S-wave exhibits rather complicated behaviour with a series of four bumps separated by three dips, at 1 GeV, 1.5 GeV and 2 GeV, which give the evidence for several scalar resonances. Clear peaks corresponding to the f2(1270), f4(2050) and f6(2510) mesons are seen in the higher waves. All the three mesons are produced via a dominating one pion t-channel exchange. The parameters and production cross sections of these mesons are measured.

Central \pipi events produced in pp interactions are studied in terms of correlations between the outgoing protons. It is observed there is more $\rho^{0}$(770) and \fmeson production in reactions where the outgoing protons %fastest and slowest particles in the laboratory frame are on opposite sides of the beam. This effect is not attributable to the trigger or the experimental acceptance, and suggests that the vertices do not factorise.

小児の尿185検体において，検尿の各過程を可能な限り定量して行い，試験紙法による尿潜血反応と，鏡検法による尿沈渣中の赤血球数との関係について検討した。 尿中赤血球数は，尿潜血(－)の検体では平均0.27±0.37個/HPFと低値であったが，(±)以上では検体によるばらつきが大きかった。両法の不一致に影響を与える因子については，尿潜血が同程度でも，尿比重や尿浸透圧の低い検体において尿中赤血球数が低値である傾向が認められた。尿比重や尿浸透圧は，赤血球の溶血しやすさなどに関与し，両法の不一致に関係していると推測された。 スクリーニング目的の一次検尿においては試験紙法単独でも有用であるが，医療機関などで血尿の正確な評価が要求される際には，手技を統一しても試験紙法または鏡検法単独では限界があり，尿比重や尿浸透圧も含め総合評価すべきと思われた。

Recent results on ωπ0 partial-wave analysis from the GAMS Collaboration are presented. A partial-wave analysis of the 38 GeV/c π-p charge exchange data confirmed the existence of theρ(2200) radial-orbital excitation of theρ(770) ground-state observed earlier in the same experiment. A new 5−− state,π5(2350), was also observed in this analysis. Masses, widths and production cross-sections for these states are given.

The results of a beam test are presented concerning the energy resolution of a calorimeter hodoscope prototype of PWO (PbWO4) crystals, measured by electron beams having energies between 0.5 and 2.5 GeV. The hodoscope consists of a 3 × 3 matrix of modules of PWOs having dimensions of 20 mm × 20 mm in cross section and 200 mm in length. The energy dependence of the energy resolution is obtained to be (σ/EGeV))2=((0.0310±0.0011)/E(Gev))2+(0.0079±0.0025)2, fitted by a quadratic form.

Vitronectin (VN) の腎疾患における関与を明らかにする目的で腎機能の正常なメサンギウム増殖性腎炎患児および腎機能低下例，健常児の尿中VNをELISA法にて測定した。その結果，メサンギウム増殖性腎炎患児の尿中VN排泄量は4.763±8.901ng/mlであり，健常児 (0.059±0.146ng/ml) と比較し有意に高値であり，腎機能低下例 (54.898±54.502ng/ml) に比較し低値であった。 メサンギウム増殖性腎炎の尿中VN排泄量と腎組織病理所見との関係を検討した結果，メサンギウム基質の増加や硬化糸球体の有無と特に関連が強く，Mesangial Sclerotic Indexと尿中VN排泄量の間に有意に正の相関が認められた。 このことより，尿中VN排泄量は腎組織の硬化性病変と密接に関連しており，尿中VN排泄量の測定により腎組織の硬化性病変の指標となりうる可能性が示唆された。

We are developing the data-acquisition system of a silicon micro-vertex detector (SMVD) for the KEK B-factory. This data-acquisition system for the SMVD comprises detector modules, data scanners, and an event builder. We have developed several specially designed analog and digital VLSIs for the SMVD data-acquisition system. In this paper, we describe the system configuration together with the functions of the VLSIs.

A large time-of-flight detector has been built by the GAMS NA12/2 experiment at CERN. It surrounds a 60 cm long liquid hydrogen target. With a time resolution better than σ = 350 ps, pion/proton separation is achieved up to a 800 MeV/c momentum.

Ginseng extract and its active component, saponin, were administered orally to nephrectomized rats for 90 d, and changes in blood and urine parameters and renal tissue lesions were assessed. Rats given saponin showed a significant decrease in the concentrations of blood urea nitrogen, creatinine and methylguanidine and a significant increase in total protein and albumin in the blood, with reduce urinary excretion of protein. There was also slight amelioration of the degree of mesangial proliferation, the severity of extratubular lesions and glomerular sclerotic lesions, and the extent of tubular interstitial lesions. However, these histological changes were inconspicuous in nephrectomized rats given ginseng extract.

Data of the ηπ− system were obtained in the reaction π−p → ηπ−p at 6.3 GeV/c beam momentum. About 17 k events of ηπ− were collected in the mass range 0.8 ⩽ Mηπ- ⩽ 1.8 GeV/c2 and in the range of the momentum transfer squared 0.075 ⩽ |t′| ⩽ 0.60 (GeV/c)2. A large forward-backward asymmetry was observed around 1.3 GeV/c2 in the Gottfried-Jackson frame of the ηπ− system. A partial wave analysis of the data was performed. A peak of the D+ wave attributed to a2 (1320) is clearly seen. An enhancement is observed around 1.3 GeV/c2 in the P+ wave.

Design studies on a front-end CMOS amplifier for a silicon strip detector of the KEK B-factory experiment were described in terms of circuit characterization, prototype fabrication and its evaluation. Based on the evaluation of the prototype work, we discussed on expected performance and architectural concepts of the read-out system for the B-factory silicon strip detector system.

We describe a prototype data acquisition system for a silicon strip detector, which has been developed in terms of a digital readout scheme. The system consists of a master timing generator, readout controller, and a detector emulator card on which we use custom VLSI shift registers with operating clock frequency of 30 MHz.

A high-statistics experiment on the reaction π − p→ π + π − π 0 n at 8.06 GeV/ c has been performed using a spectrometer detecting both charged particles and gamma rays. A partial-wave analysis based on the isobar model has been carried out for π + π − π 0 data in the mass range between 0.86 and 1.50 GeV for four t ′ regions: 0.0–0.1, 0.1–0.25, 0.25–0.45 and 0.45–0.95 (GeV/ c 2 ). Two axial-vector resonances, a 1 (1260) and h 1 (1170), were observed in the analysis. The masses and widths of a 1 and h 1 were determined to be M (a 1 = 1121 ± 8 MeV, Λ (a 1 = 239± 11 MeV, M (h 1 = 1168±4 MeV and Λ (h 1 = 345±6 MeV, respectively, by fitting the Breit-Wigner formula to the partial wave amplitude. A fit including the Deck type background was also tried in each t ′ region. The results showed a small effect on these resonance parameters and were consistent with those obtained by the simple Breit-Wigner fitting.

A monolithic time-to-amplitude converter integrated circuit was designed and built with a semicustom bipolar IC technology. In order to evaluate the performance of the IC, it was incorporated into a CAMAC TDC module. We observed a resolution of 50 ps with high stability against temperature variation and external disturbance. This performance was achieved by using the differential TAC technique.

The aim of this study was to assess the significance of C3 deposition in IgA nephropathy in children and adolescents. One hundred and two patients aged 5-21 years (57 male and 45 female) were studied. The findings of C3 deposition were classified into 8 groups by immunofluorescent (IF) pattern and intensity as follows: group MC3+ (N = 12): mesangiocapillary pattern and 3+ in intensity; group MC2+ (N = 13): mesangiocapillary and 2+; group MC1+ (N = 4): mesangiocapillary and 1+; group M3+ (N = 11): mesangial and 3+; group M2+ (N = 24): mesangial and 2+; group M1+ (N = 18): mesangial 1+; group S (N = 12): only segmentally positive; and group N (N = 8): negative. Histological changes were scored semiquantitatively as an activity index (cellular proliferation, necrosis, interstitial cell infiltration, and cellular crescents) and a chronicity index (mesangial sclerosis, segmental and global glomerular sclerosis, fibrous crescents, adhesion and tubulo-interstitial change). IF findings were scored semiquantitatively and laboratory findings were also studied. The following results were obtained: 1) The scores of total activity index in MC groups were higher than in the M, S or N groups, and the greater the degree of C3 deposition, the higher the score; 2) Such result was not evident in the chronicity index; 3) High IF scores of IgG and IgM were found in the MC3+ and MC2+ groups; 4) Hematuria was more severe in MC3+ and MC2+ than in other groups, and proteinuria was more prominent in the MC than other groups. Thus the degree of C3 deposition was parallel with histological activity and urinary findings.

A partial-wave analysis based on the isobar model has been carried out for a high statistics π + π − π 0 data in the π − p charge exchange reaction in the mass range between 0.88 and 1.44 GeV. Two axial-vector resonances, a 1 (1260) and h 1 (1170), were observed in the analysis. The masses and widths of a 1 and h 1 were determined by fitting the partial-wave amplitude to the Breit Wigner formula at four t' regions.

Twenty-five children with IgA nephropathy were studied by serial renal biopsy to investigate C3 deposition. The children were classified into three groups according to the immunofluorescent (IF) course of C3 deposition: group I (N = 9): unchanged or slightly decreased; group II (N = 4): changed to segmental deposition; and group III (N = 12): changed to negative deposition. Histological changes were scored semiquantitatively as an activity index (cellular proliferation, necrosis, interstitial cell infiltration and cellular crescents) and a chronicity index (mesangial sclerosis, segmental and global glomerular sclerosis, adhesion, fibrous crescents and tubulo-interstitial change). The IF findings were scored semiquantitatively and laboratory data were also studied. The following results were obtained: 1. Normal urinalysis was often observed in group III; 2. The IF scores of IgA and IgG were decreased at the second biopsy in all groups, most notably in group III; 3. The activity indices at second biopsies were decreased in all groups, most notably in groups II and III, consistently with our previous study which showed that C3 deposition increases in accordance with histological activity; 4. The chronicity index was unchanged in all groups and C3 deposition did not reflect histological chronicity. Thus, this study indicates that C3 deposition occurs as the disease progresses and reflects histological activity.

A further study on the ηππ system in the charge exchange reaction π−p→ηπ+π−n at 8.95 GeV/c has been performed at KEK. A partial wave analysis was done for three t′ regions, 0–0.05, 0.05–0.20 and 0.20–0.60 (GeV/c)2 in the mass range between 1.155 and 1.555 GeV. The IJpc=00−+ wave via a0(980)π intermediate state shows clear peaks of η(1295) and η(1400) in the third t′ region. The state η(1400) shows a mass value of 1388±4 MeV. The 01++ wave via a0π shows also a clear peak of f1 (1285) in the third t′ region. The higher mass region between 1.51 and 1.83 GeV was also studied for the same three t′ regions. No I=0 pseudoscalar state is seen in the analysis.

A monolithic dual-channel shaper amplifier chip was designed and fabricated with a semicustom bipolar IC technology to be used for a readout system of a scintillation-fiber calorimeter with a multianode PMT.

The reaction K − p → ηη(Λ/Σ0) at a momentum of 32.5 GeV/c was studied for the first time. The experiment was performed by using the GAMS-4π spectrometer at the 70-GeV accelerator of the Institute for High Energy Physics (IHEP, Protvino). The f 2(1525) resonance was observed in the effective-mass spectrum of the ηη system at a low background level. The cross section for f 2(1525) production was measured. The branching ratio for f 2(1525)-meson decay to ηη and K $$\bar K$$ was found to be R = 0.119 ± 0.015(stat.) ± 0.036(syst.), which is in agreement with the world-average value.

Two different types of post-operative pain (such as acute pain and chronic pain) occur in patients undergoing thoracotomy. It has been suggested that the acute post-thoracotomy pain consists of inflammatory pain and chronic post-thoracotomy pain caused by intercostal neuralgia. In the present study, we examined the effect of intra-operative administration of ketamine, an NMDA receptor antagonist, on the acute and chronic post-thoracotomy pain.Sixteen patients were assigned to one of two groups (ketamine or control). The ketamine group received a ketamine bolus (1 mg x kg(-1)) just before the skin incision, followed by continuous infusion of ketamine (1 mg x kg(-1) x hr(-1)) during surgery.Verbal rating scores (VRSs) at rest and on cough were significantly lower in the ketamine group on day 1 and VRS of chronic pain was also significantly lower in the ketamine group 4 weeks after the surgery.These data suggest that post-thoracotomy pain might be mediated by NMDA receptor dependent central sensitization and that the intra-operative administration of ketamine might block the development of the NMDA receptor dependent central sensitization.

Design studies on a front-end CMOS amplifier for a silicon strip detector of the KEK B-factory experiment are described in terms of circuit characterization, and prototype fabrication and evaluation. Extrapolating the prototype performance to the B-factory design, the authors estimated the equivalent noise charge of 1000 electrons at 20 pF with an nMOS input FET. A pipeline analog memory, a built-in gain stage, and a flip-chip assembly were key elements of the design. >

A monolithic charge-to-amplitude converter integrated circuit (QAC IC) was developed with a bipolar application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) technology. The QAC IC could be used as a building block of a wide-dynamic-range analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Stacking more than two QAC ICs, one could achieve larger dynamic range than that of the single QAC. The QAC IC could be used in a narrow gate application as well as in a wide gate application. The QAC IC was examined in terms of input impedance, transfer function of the current signal, and linearity. The input impedance was kept 50 Omega up to 100 MHz. The integral nonlinearity was 0.1% for the maximum input charge of 600 pC. The dynamic range of the single QAC IC was 4000 pC. >

A constant fraction discriminator was developed with a bipolar application-specific IC (ASIC) technology from NEC without a delay. It is called the differentiation constant fraction discriminator (DCFD). Prototype chips were examined for their integrity and performance. This technology has significant advantages over others currently in use for applications in high-density integration, and particularly for some large-scale experiments such as the B-factory and SSC. The performance of this differentiated constant fraction integrated circuit was tested by a trapezoidal input signal. The function of the DCFD IC was exactly as expected, and the full width of the time walk was 1 ns or less. >

A prototype data acquisition system of a silicon strip detector with a digital readout scheme has been designed and fabricated. The system consists of a master timing generator, readout control, and a detector emulator card on which special shift register VLSIs were used. The crucial issue was to feed high-frequency clock signals as quietly as possible with less influence on the front end analog circuits. A special shift register VLSI with a silicon compiler system was also designed. This prototype version could be used for a beam test of a prototype silicon strip detector and also as a design basis of a real data acquisition system for a silicon strip detector. This prototype system also has an application area for a development of digital-oriented and fast response detectors such as microstrip gas chambers and/or RICH counters (ring imaging Cerenkov counters). >

A 7-month-old boy with a solitary kidney showed recurrent urinary tract infection. Magnetic resonance urography helps in the identification of vesicoureteral junction obstruction associated with unilateral renal agenesis.

Eighty-six patients (59 males and 27 females) diagnosed with steroid-responsive nephrotic syndrome during childhood were identified. The patients were 20–40 years of age (mean 27.0 ± 5.0) with a mean follow-up period of 19.5 ± 5.9 years. All patients had been treated with a long-term tapering corticosteroid therapy. Thirty patients had also received a course of cyclophosphamide (2 mg/kg/day for 12 weeks). Sixty-six had achieved sustained remission off corticosteroids, while 20 were still receiving corticosteroids to maintain remission. None of the 86 patients had proteinuria or renal insufficiency at the time of the study. Mean final heights in males and females were similar (–0.51 ± 1.21 and –0.23 ± 1.16 standard deviation score). Mean final height of 20 steroid-dependent patients was significantly less than that of 66 in remission off corticosteroids (p < 0.005). Ten cyclophosphamide-treated patients got married and 9 had at least 1 healthy child. In children with steroid-responsive nephrotic syndrome, the need for corticosteroid therapy to maintain remission may be associated with decreased adult height. Patients who received a 12-week course of cyclophosphamide are likely to be normally fertile as adults.

Although idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) is thought to represent a diffuse glomerulopathy, it was found that three of 31 children histologically diagnosed as IMN showed focal and segmental deposition of immunoglobulin G (IgG) and C3 on the glomerular capillary walls. The present study attempted to comparatively investigate clinical and pathological features of the diffuse group and the focal segmental group in 31 IMN children. Immunofluorescence study revealed that 28 of 31 IMN exhibited diffuse granular deposition of IgG along glomerular capillary walls. In contrast, focal and segmental deposition of IgG and C3 was noted in three children with IMN. In addition, focal and segmental electron-dense deposits were identified in these cases. In two children of the focal segmental group, immunofluorescent patterns of IgG deposition were unchanged even at the second biopsy. The focal segmental form of IMN tended to occur in younger children than diffuse IMN. However, other clinical parameters such as the range of proteinuria, hematuria, serum albumin and prognosis did not show any significant differences between both groups. Electrophoretic profiles of urinary proteins on sodium dodecylsulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis were not different between both groups. It is proposed that the focal segmental form of IMN may have a distinctive glomerulopathy from the typical form of IMN.

The effective mass spectrum of π0 pairs produced in pp central collisions (pp → pfπ0π0ps) at 450 GeV/c, s = 29 GeV , below 1 GeV differs from that observed in peripheral charge exchange reactions. In particular, there is a large number of events between ππ-threshold and 1 GeV, that interfere with f0(980) destructively. The possible existence of a broad S-wave state is suggested.

A study of central meson production as a function of the difference in transverse momentum ($dP_T$) of the exchanged particles shows that undisputed $q \overline q$ mesons are suppressed at small $dP_T$ whereas the glueball candidates are enhanced.

Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha and interferon (INF)-gamma levels were measured in the sera obtained from 29 patients with IgA glomerulonephritis (IgA GN), 8 patients with minimal change nephrotic syndrome (MCNS) and 12 patients with upper respiratory tract infection (URI) without renal diseases in children. The serum TNF-alpha level of IgA GN was 123.0 +/- 175.4 pg/ml, MCNS was 4.9 +/- 4.0 pg/ml and URI was 10.5 +/- 4.5 pg/ml respectively. The serum TNF-alpha level of IgA GN was significantly higher than those of MCNS and URI. The serum TNF-alpha level of URI was on the high trend compared with that of MCNS, but was not statistically significant. Although the TNF-alpha level was related to mesangial cell proliferation in patients with IgA GN, it was unrelated to the grade of mesangial matrix expansion and magnitude of proteinuria. In 17 patients with IgA GN having macroscopic hematuria, the serum TNF-alpha level was 190.5 +/- 201.6 pg/ml, and in other IgA GN patients with microscopic hematuria it was 37.4 +/- 75.7 pg/ml. The serum TNF-alpha level of IgA GN with macroscopic hematuria was significantly higher than that with microscopic hematuria. In 6 patients with IgA GN with macroscopic hematuria, the serum TNF-alpha level was significantly decreased after macroscopic hematuria disappeared. The mean serum IFN-gamma level of IgA GN was 0.3 +/- 0.6 IU/ml, and MCNS was not detectable. Although the serum IFN-gamma level was related to mesangial cell proliferation in patients with IgA GN, it was unrelated to magnitude of proteinuria, the grade of mesangial matrix expansion and also the presence or absence of macroscopic hematuria. We suggest that macroscopic hematuria of IgA GN was closely related to the serum TNF-alpha level.

The mass spectra of the ωπ0 system, produced in π-p charge-exchange reactions at 38 GeV/c and 100 GeV/c, show a new neutral state with a mass of 2200±20 MeV and a width of 260±50 MeV. Like ρ3(1690), this meson, X(2200), is produced through one-pion-exchange. X(2200)JPC is likely 1--. It might be a 23D1 radial-orbital excitation of ρ0. Its production cross section falls with energy quadratically, in agreement with one-pion-exchange. New data on the ν′ν system produced in the π−p charge exchange at 38 GeV c momentum confirm the existence of the narrow ν′ν resonance X(1910). The hypothesis of the X(1910) quantum numbers being a JPC = 1−+, forbidden for the q[ovbar|q] meson, is proposed to explain the extremely low limits obtained for X(1910) decays through π0π0, νν and K0sK0s channels and the flat t-dependence of the X(1910) production cross section.

High-statistics data on the reaction ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\eta}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}n$ at 8.06 GeV/c were obtained. An isobarmodel partial-wave analysis was performed for the $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{\pi}$ system. The $\ensuremath{\eta}(1275)$ meson was confirmed as a narrow $I{J}^{\mathrm{PC}}={00}^{\ensuremath{-}+}$ resonance. It decays through both $\ensuremath{\delta}\ensuremath{\pi}$ and $\ensuremath{\epsilon}\ensuremath{\eta}$. A narrow state with $I{J}^{\mathrm{PC}}={00}^{\ensuremath{-}+}$ was found in an $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{\pi}$ decay channel at 1.42 GeV. It has a prominent peak in a $\ensuremath{\delta}\ensuremath{\pi}$ decay mode. No significant $E(1420)$ signal with $I{J}^{\mathrm{PC}}={01}^{++}$ was found near the mass region of 1.42 GeV.
