This research aims at exploring the impact of active tourism activities on sustainable development dimensions. The methodology applied was based on the Theory of Forgotten Effects, which involves the use of different matrices as a research method representing relationship between different elements. According to experts' opinions, direct and indirect relationships effects caused by active tourism on sustainable development dimensions were evaluated. Particularly, the elements in the matrices were, on the one hand, types of active tourism activities by natural setting (ground, underground, water, underwater and aerial) and, on the other hand, dimensions of sustainable development goals (economic, social, environmental, cultural and governmental). The use of the Forgotten Effects Theory allowed us to analyse incidence relationships, both direct causalities identified by experts in the first place, and also significant linkages between elements in the matrices which had been overlooked initially but showed a strong incidence after applying the aforementioned research method (indirect causalities). Besides this identification of overlooked incidences or "forgotten effects", another remarkable contribution of this pioneer work is in the selection of themes or objects of study included in the fuzzy metrics, as no other work relating active tourism activities and sustainable development dimensions was found in the literature. Numerous organizations are progressively engaging themselves in various sustainability practices and initiatives, and the higher education sector is no exception. Higher education institutions (HEIs), in fact, have long maintained an effectual role in cultivating and advocating sustainable development within the campus as well as to the wider community. Although sustainability practices in HEIs are emerging worldwide, the extent to which the academic staff on campus are aware of the sustainable development dimensions and the perceived level of importance of these dimensions within the institutions are questionable. This study aims to gauge the relationship between the level of awareness of academic staff and their perceived importance of sustainability dimensions within a HEI setting in Malaysia. Survey data were collected from a sample of 155 academic staff in a private HEI in Malaysia. The findings show that the highest level of awareness is for the social dimension, although the environmental dimension is perceived as being most important within the institution. Although the results also demonstrate a significant relationship between environmental awareness and the perceived importance of the environmental dimension within the institution, the relationships between the social and economic dimensions and the perceived importance were not supported. Hence, there is an urgent need for the institution and the nation as a whole to undertake relevant efforts that embolden the tertiary education system toward leading society to achieve sustainable development goals. Egypt has many new areas, most of which are found outside the boundaries of urbanization in the valley and delta. Such areas contain capabilities and ingredients with special natural and environmental features that differ from the built-up areas. As development areas have been recently created by the development policies and strategies which were put forward by the country to accommodate sustainable development processes. There is an Availability of suitable areas for development according to resources and without limitations, which amount to 24% of the total area. There are, also, suitable areas for development according to resources with the presence of some limitations, which amount to an area of 16% of the total area. Sustainable development captures the world's attention during the past 15 years, at the level of the global economic, social and environmental field. Thus, development sustainability has become a global school of thought that spreads in most of the countries of the world, All UN member states adopted the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015 as the main umbrella for balancing social, economic, and environmental sustainability by 2030. And also the plans put forward in Egypt The research discusses what are the Requirements for reaching the sustainable goals of development to plan new areas in Arab Republic of Egypt. By using qualitative methods Because these areas have a shortage of statistical data. To can reach, foundations and indicators for sustainable development, adopting a national sustainable development strategy that includes all entities, institutions, members of society and those affected by its results in the short and long term. Sustainable development has become an universal phrase and the area of many policy initiatives, especially those regarding environmental organizations. The revision of the dimensions of sustainable development gives vital support to develop and implement indicators for them. The dimensions of sustainable development are inseparable and mutually reinforcing. Sustainable development actions depend on complexity and working with different interests of environment and development. It is impossible to predict what needs future generations will have. The obligation of the current generation is both to use and protect the world resources in ways that meet human development opportunities more justifiably today, but which do not exclude choices for such actions tomorrow. The aim of the research is to analyse the dimensions of sustainable development. More deeply, the research tasks are to outline the hierarchical organization of sustainable development criteria and indicators and to create a new paradigm of sustainable development dimensions. The methods of research are monographic, quantitative, deductive, and inductive. The key result: a new paradigm of sustainable development dimensions is created. Sustainable development is a concept, possibly surrounding closely every aspect of human society. The meaning of the dimensions of sustainable development is all the time in progress. There is a new approach to the dimensions given in the research. Sustainability could be understood better in terms of “here and now”, “later” and “elsewhere”. The existence of sustainability criteria guarantees sustainability in the long perspective. In the XXth century the concept of public welfare was associated with economic growth and its rate. It was assumed that the economic growth provides society with the needed tools to solve its ecological and social problems. Theory attempted to explain the most important factors influencing economic growth and its efficient management. Yet it was discovered that the market economy system is not capable of solving society’s problems. The new type of world society and economy requires the rapid formation of processes, which reflect changing consciousness of the population. These processes include the rapid development of information technology, globalisation, which highlighted the significance of the environment, and the formation of social movements. Moreover, all the issues arising due to rapid changes can be rationally solved in a sustainable way. The analysis of methods used for evaluation of sustainable development has demonstrated that there is a lack of studies devoted to the assessment of sustainable development at the enterprise level. The most common problem encountered while assessing sustainability of the enterprise at the national and regional levels are the inadequate indicators. These should be based not only on the economic, environmental and social dimensions but as well on the technological and institutional dimensions. Another problem is the unreasonable number of the chosen indicators, which do not represent its distinct significance. This paper analyzed the problems of the concept of sustainable development and its implementation at different levels because the progress can only be made when there are challenges to overcome. The concept of sustainable enterprise was analyzed, followed by a discussion of importance of assessment of sustainability in the enterprises with its positive and negative aspects. Guidelines for future research were also established. Straipsnio tikslas – išanalizuoti darniosios plėtros vertinimo metodinį potencialą ir, remiantis analizės rezultatais, nubrėžti pagrindines įmonės darnios plėtros vertinimo tobulinimo gaires. Tyrimui atlikti naudoti šie metodai: mokslinės literatūros sisteminė analizė, įvairių požiūrių sintezė, grindžiama logine abstrakcija. Straipsnyje aptartas darnios plėtros vertinimo aktualumas įmonių veikloje, apibendrinti vertinimo metodai, identifikuoti teigiami ir neigiami šių metodų aspektai, suformuotos problemos sprendimo gairės. Sustainable development, logistics, and supply chain are being combined into three increasingly connected and topical global research areas. Therefore, this paper's novelty identifies and defines the priorities of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and sustainable development dimensions in supply-chain- and logistics-management-related studies in the last decade. Knowing logistics and supply chain sustainability focus and orientation is valuable information for researchers and managers to adapt and mitigate their business logistics according to the forecasted trends. The paper provides a systematic and comprehensive review of the literature and is based on 116 scientific papers published between 2010 and 2020 in 73 international journals in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The study defines focus with integrating environmental, social, and economic sustainability for logistics- and supply-chain-related studies. It emphasizes primary and secondary links of investigated studies with 17 United Nations sustainable development goals. The bibliometric analysis also examined keyword relations. One of the main contributions is that economic sustainability was identified as the most represented one-dimensional sustainability focus. It was revealed that supply chain studies integrated all three sustainability dimensions more frequently (50.60%) than logistics studies, which were equally related to studying two- or three-dimensions of sustainability (39.39%). The most significant findings are also that studies were identified to be oriented primarily towards "responsible consumption and production", "industry, innovation, and infrastructure" and "affordable and clean energy" and secondary especially on "sustainable cities and communities".
