Experiment was conducted to identify the resistant Mung bean varieties against MYMV in Kharif during 2017. Ten Indian mung bean genotypes obtained from AICRP on Arid legumes, RARI, Durgapura, Jaipur, were used in the screening experiment and the obtained results revealed that there was significant variation among the genotypes for resistance against MYMV. Based on the average MYMV score, only two genotypes (IPM 02-3 and IPM 0205-7) were found completely free from the disease and the plants had maximum chlorophyll content whereas IPM-409-4 and RMG 991 were found resistant and chlorophyll content was low as compared to the highly resistant genotypes. The rest of six genotypes observed moderately resistant, moderately susceptible, susceptible and highly susceptible to the disease.

This research’s contribution is towards determining heat transfer characteristics of Ag–C2H6O2 and Cu–C2H6O2 nano fluid over a vertical porous circular cylindrical surface. The mixed convection flow in the presence of electric conductivity, Joule heating and thermal radiation near a stagnation point is considered for investigation. Ethylene glycol is taken as base fluid while copper and silver are nanoparticles. Through similarity transformations, the governing PDEs for momentum, energy, and concentration are turned into ODEs, which are then interpreted using a fourth-order exactness programme (Bvp4c). The parametric impacts on concentration, temperature and velocity are thoroughly discussed graphically while impact on the rate of heat transfer, skin friction and rate of mass transfer is obtained in numeral form. The obtained results are compared to published literature and a comparison between Ag–C2H6O2 and Cu–C2H6O2 nano fluids is demonstrated.

The main focus of the current study is to examine the impact of melting heat transfer and chemical reactions on MHD micropolar fluid flow over a sheet that is exponentially stretching and immersed in a porous medium in which the source of heat is not uniform. Also taken into consideration are slip phenomena and thermal radiation. The governing PDEs are converted to a system of ODEs via similarity transformation and the necessary boundary conditions. These nonlinear ODEs are resolved with the help of shooting techniques and an RK-4 iterative strategy. Also, solved this problem using the Bvp4c approach for validating the results of the RK-4 method. Both outcomes are consistent with previously published data. With the help of tables and graphs, we examine the influence of multiple physical parameters on velocity, thermal profile, microrotation, concentration profiles, Nusselt number, Sherwood number, coefficient of skin friction, and Wall couple stress. We see that the temperature distribution and velocity profiles decrease when the melting parameter increases. The temperature profile boost when the heat source parameter is increased.

In the present paper, Upper-Convected Maxwell model is used for formulation of the problem of two-dimensional unsteady stagnation point flow of viscoelastic fluid which passes through a porous medium over a stretching/shrinking surface. The effect of magnetic field on flow is also considered in the presence of time dependent heat source/sink. Using similarity parameters, we convert the governing non-linear system of partial differential equations into non dimensional system of ordinary differential equations. This system of equations is solved by using Runge-Kutta fourth order method with shooting technique. Effect of different physical parameters e.g. Maxwell parameter(β), permeability parameter(K), unsteadiness parameter(γ), velocity ratio parameter(λ) etc. on flow and heat transfer characteristics are analyzed and discussed graphically. It is observed that for some values of λ, dual solution also exists for both velocity and temperature, and existence and uniqueness of solution also depends upon unsteadiness parameter. For the validation of present study, the results are compared to previous investigations and found in good agreement.

The investigation was carried out in the department of plant pathology, SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner, Jaipur (Rajasthan) during Kharif, 2017 to evaluate the efficacy of indigenous materials against sclerotinia rot disease of brinjal under in vitro and in vivo conditions. The six indigenous materials i. e. neem oil, garlic extract, castor oil, cow urine, heeng powder and turmeric powder were tested by poisoned food technique against sclerotinia rot pathogen. Among six indigenous materials, extract of garlic was found most effective in inhibiting mycelial growth (69.71, 95.72 and 98.00%) of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum at 5, 10 and 15 per cent, respectively followed by neem oil (63.96, 89.64 and 92.00%) and cow-urine (59.20, 81.21 and 84.00%) over control. Heeng powder was found least effective in inhibiting mycelial growth of S. sclerotiorum over control. The study indicates that all the three concentrations (5, 10 and 15%) of garlic extract were effective in reducing the sclerotinia rot disease incidence.

Lehsua (Cordia myxa Roxb.) also known as Lasoda, Gunda and Indian cherry, is a major fruit of the family Boraginaceae and grown in Rajasthan and other states of India. Alternaria leaf spot of lehsua, caused by Alternaria alternata is an important disease of this crop and day by day it is becoming severe in Rajasthan. The physiological study i.e. effect of temperature, RH, pH and effect of media on fungus (Alternaria alternata) was studied in vitro. The mycelial growth of Alternaria alternata was studied at different levels of temperature ranging from 15 oC to 35 oC. Maximum mycelial growth (87.51 mm) was recorded at 25 oC, while minimum (55.73 mm) was recorded at 15 oC. Maximum (88.71 mm) and minimum (49.00 mm) growth was recorded at 100 and 60 per cent level of RH, respectively; similarly maximum mycelial dry weight (847 mg) was recorded at pH 6.5 and minimum (300 mg) was at pH 8.0. The best growth supportive medium (87.88 mm dia. cololny) for the pathogen was potato dextrose agar medium followed by Czapeck’s Dox agar medium

Indian cherry or Lehsua (Cordia myxa Roxb.) is vernacularly known as Lasoda and Gunda and it is a major fruit of the family Boraginaceae which well flourished in arid conditions of Rajasthan and India. The immature fruits are used for preparing mix vegetable and pickle in Indian cuisine. Alternaria leaf spot of lehsua, caused by Alternaria alternata is an important disease of this crop and causes economic yield loss. In present investigation, four systemic acquired resistance (SAR) activators (salicylic acid, isonicotinic acid, hydrogen peroxide and β-amino butyric acid) were sprayed in orchard and this was the foremost case of study in perennial and arid fruit crops in Rajasthan. Among these, spray of salicylic acid (@200 ppm) proved most effective in reducing disease intensity (54.87%) followed by 2,6-dichloroisonicotinic acid (47.85%) possibly by activating the cellular genes and defense mechanism and thereby spreading throughout the plant body. These SAR inducers can be used as an alternative to fungicides as green chemicals by incorporating in integrated disease management system, because they do not cause bio-accumulation in eatables and environmental hazards.

Background: Laparoscopic hernia repair is technically difficult and has long learning curve than open repair. Moreover, with increased cost of procedure do patient really get benefited in terms of intraoperative time duration, post-operative pain and complications, length of hospital stays, and time taken to return to usual activity needs to be studied.Methods: In this prospective observational study of 100 patients including unilateral, bilateral, direct and indirect inguinal hernia and excluding obstructed and strangulated hernia, 61 patients underwent open repair and 39 patients underwent laparoscopic hernia repair. In this paper, a new design of band-reject frequency selective surfaces is proposed. Compared to previous compact structure, the FSS proposed has a better firm performance with the dimension of a unit cell only 0.126λ × 0.126λ, where λ represents the wavelength of the resonant frequency. Above design is aimed at rejection of WLAN band (5.15–5.725) GHz. Moreover, the proposed design has a stable response with respect to different polarization characteristics and different incident angles of the incident plane wave. The squashed performance can be further improve by changing radius of patch. The design is aimed at the rejection of WLAN band.
