Among the thousands of Hellenistic hemispherical relief bowls found on Delos is a small collection of Athenian bowls, isolated by Alfred Laumonier in the course of his work on the much larger corpus of Ionian bowls. All major decorative types are present, with long‑petal bowls in the majority. The imagery largely matches that of bowls found in Athens, but some new stamps are documented. Many fragments can be attributed to specific workshops. The fragments throw new light on the production process, documenting a previously unsuspected step in that process and offering evidence for the export of molds for the production of “Attic” bowls elsewhere. Although some of the bowls arrived on the island before 167, most were imported later, and the opening of this new market may have had an impact on the development of the Athenian industry. Parmi les milliers de bols hellénistiques hémisphériques à relief retrouvés à Délos se trouve un petit nombre de bols athéniens, mis de côté par Alfred Laumonier au cours de son travail sur les bols ioniens, bien plus nombreux. Toutes les catégories décoratives importantes sont représentées avec, en majorité, les bols à godrons. L’iconographie correspond à celle des bols retrouvés à Athènes, mais on trouve aussi des impressions de poinçons jusqu’ici inconnus. Ces fragments nous éclairent sur les procédés de production et en documentent une étape jusqu’ici inconnue, en même temps qu’ils témoignent de l’exportation de moules pour la production de bols « attiques » hors de l’Attique. Bien que plusieurs des bols soient arrivés dans l’île avant 167, la plupart sont des articles d’importation plus tardive, ce qui suggère que l’ouverture de ce nouveau marché a pu avoir des conséquences pour le développement de l’industrie céramique athénienne. Ανάµεσα στους χιλιάδες ελληνιστικούς ηµισφαιρικούς ανάγλυφους σκύφους που έχουν βρεθεί στη Δήλο, διακρίνεται µια οµάδα αττικών αγγείων, η οποία αποφονώθηκε από τον Alfred Laumonier κατά τη διάρκεια της ευρύτερης µελέτης του πάνω στους ιωνικούς σκύφους. Όλοι οι βασικοί διακοσµητικοί τύποι ! είναι παρόντες, µε τη διακόσµηση µε µακριά πέταλα να κυριαρχεί. Παρά το γεγονός ότι ορισµένοι από τους σκύφους εισήχθησαν στη Δήλο πριν από το 167 π.Χ., οι περισσότεροι χρονολογούνται σε υστερότερους χρόνους, ενώ φαίνεται ότι το άνοιγµα της νέας αυτής αγοράς επέδρασε στην εξέλιξη της αθηναϊκής παραγωγής.

The date of 224/3 for the introduction of Hellenistic moldmade relief bowls at Athens is reexamined-and subsequently reaffirmed-in light of a recent downward shift in the chronology of Rhodian amphoras. The process of introduction is traced in detail, using a model of the innovation process based on recent inventions. The implications of the stratigraphic record at the Athenian Agora for our understanding of the introduction of innovations in general, and of this innovation in particular, are discussed. The sparse representation of the moldmade bowl in later 3rd-century deposits may indicate slow acceptance of the new type, but more likely reflects the time that it takes for objects to enter the archaeological record.
