However, the exact dose response of phenylephrine in combination with prophylactic ondansetron for preventing SIH is unknown. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the dose-response of phenylephrine to prevent SIH in cesarean delivery when 4 mg of ondansetron was used as a preventive method.Methods: A total of 80 parturients were enrolled and divided randomly into four groups (n = 20 in each group) who received either 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, or 0.5 μg/kg/min of prophylactic phenylephrine. Ten minutes before the initiation of spinal induction, 4 mg prophylactic ondansetron was administered. The effective dose of prophylactic phenylephrine was defined as the dose required to prevent hypotension after the period of intrathecal injection and up to neonatal delivery. The ED50 and ED90 of prophylactic phenylephrine and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were calculated using probit analysis.Results: The ED50 and ED90 for prophylactic phenylephrine to prevent SIH were 0.25 (95% CI, 0.15 to 0.30), and 0.45 (95% CI, 0.39 to 0.59) μg/kg/min, respectively. No significant differences were observed in the side effects and neonatal outcomes between the four groups.Conclusion: The administration of 4 mg of prophylactic ondansetron was associated with an ED50 of 0.25 (95% CI, 0.15~0.30) and ED90 of 0.45 (95% CI, 0.39~0.59) μg/kg/min for phenylephrine to prevent SIH.Keywords: phenylephrine, ondansetron, dose-response, hypotension, cesarean delivery, spinal

Background: Phenylephrine infusion is recommended to prevent spinal hypotension during cesarean delivery (CD) but may be associated with dose-dependent side effects. We hypothesized that adding intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) of the lower legs to a variable-rate phenylephrine infusion will reduce the dose of phenylephrine required during CD., Methods: Seventy-six healthy women undergoing elective CD under combined spinal-epidural anesthesia were randomly assigned to IPC or control groups (n = 38 per group). After spinal anesthesia, IPC of the lower legs was initiated in the IPC group, and all women received a phenylephrine infusion starting at 25 μg·min -1 and increasing by 16.7 μg·min -1 for systolic blood pressure (SAP) < 90% baseline. If hypotension (SAP < 80% baseline) occurred, 100 μg phenylephrine bolus was administered. The primary outcome was the dose of phenylephrine per minute., Results: The dose of phenylephrine per minute (34.4 ± 7.3 μg·min -1 vs. 40.9 ± 9.5 μg·min -1 , P = 0.001; mean difference -6.6 μg·min -1 , 95% CI -10.5 to -2.7 μg·min -1 ) and the incidence of hypotension (24% vs. 55%, P = 0.005) were lower in the IPC group than in the control group. There were no significant differences between the two groups in the total dose of phenylephrine (603.2 ± 217.1 μg vs. 706.2 ± 247.5 μg, P = 0.058; mean difference -102.9 μg, 95% CI -209.4 to 3.5 μg), maternal side effects, or neonatal outcomes., Conclusions: Intermittent pneumatic compression combined with a variable-rate phenylephrine infusion reduced the phenylephrine dose per minute and the incidence of hypotension during CD under spinal anesthesia., (Copyright © 2024. We report here a step-economic and cost-effective cross-electrophile coupling of aryl thianthrenium salts with widely available aryl bromides, which proceeded effectively via C-S bond activation at ambient temperature in THF in the presence of a palladium catalyst, magnesium turnings, and lithium chloride to enable the facile assembly of a wide array of structurally diverse biaryls in modest to good yields with good functional group compatibility. In addition, the gram-scale reaction could also be realized.

Ribosome biogenesis is a highly regulated cellular process requiring a large cohort of accessory factors to ensure the accurate production of ribosomes. Dysregulation of ribosome biogenesis is associated with the development of various human diseases, including cancer. The Las1L-Nol9 endonuclease-kinase complex is essential for the cleavage of the rRNA internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2), the phosphorylation of the 5'-hydroxyl end of the resulting precursor, and, thus, the maturation of the 60S ribosome. However, how the Las1L-Nol9 complex is regulated in cells is unclear. In this study, we report that the nucleolar ubiquitin-specific protease USP36 is a novel regulator of the Las1L-Nol9 complex. USP36 interacts with both Las1L and Nol9 and regulates their stability via deubiquitination. Intriguingly, USP36 also mediates the SUMOylation of Las1L, mainly at lysine (K) 565. Mutating K565 to arginine (R) does not affect the levels of Las1L and the formation of the Las1L-Nol9 complex, but abolishes its function in ITS2 processing, as unlike wild-type Las1L, the K565R mutant failed to rescue the defects in the ITS2 processing induced by the knockdown of endogenous Las1L. These results suggest that USP36-mediated Las1L SUMOylation is critical for ITS2 processing and that USP36 plays a critical role in ribosome biogenesis by regulating the Las1L-Nol9 complex., Significance: This study identifies USP36 as a deubiquitinating and small ubiquitin-like modifier ligase dual-function enzyme to mediate Las1L deubiquitination and SUMOylation. Las1L SUMOylation at K565 plays a critical role in pre-rRNA ITS2 processing. Human reproduction is a complex process involving gamete maturation, fertilization, embryo cleavage and development, blastocyst formation, implantation, and live birth. If any of these processes are abnormal or arrest, reproductive failure will occur. Infertility is a state of reproductive dysfunction caused by various factors. Advances in molecular genetics, including cell and molecular genetics, and high-throughput sequencing technologies, have found that genetic factors are important causes of infertility. Genetic variants have been identified in infertile women or men and can cause gamete maturation arrest, poor quality gametes, fertilization failure, and embryonic developmental arrest during assisted reproduction technology (ART), and thus reduce the clinical success rates of ART. This article reviews clinical studies on repeated in vitro fertilization (IVF)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) failures caused by ovarian dysfunction, oocyte maturation defects, oocyte abnormalities, fertilization disorders, and preimplantation embryonic development arrest due to female genetic etiology, the accumulation of pathogenic genes and gene pathogenic loci, and the functional mechanism and clinical significance of pathogenic genes in gametogenesis and early embryonic development., (© 2024. Chemical investigation on the aqueous extract of Dendrobium aphyllum led to the isolation of thirty-one constituents with structures identified by analysis of the extensive spectroscopic data (1D/2D NMR, MS, UV, and ECD), including previously undescribed two bibenzyls, one furfural, and one phenolic acid, namely trigonopol D (1), trigonopol C (2), dendrofunan A (10), and 6-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3,6-dioxohexyl acetate (30), respectively, as well as twenty-seven known ones. Among them, there were one new natural product (11), seven compounds (6-7, 9, 12, 20, 28, 31) described from the genus Dendrobium for the first time, and fifteen compounds (8, 13-17, 19, 21-27, 29) isolated from D. aphyllum for the first time. Further, the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potentials of fifteen compounds (4-5, 8, 11-12, 14-19, 22, 24, 26, and 29) with significant scavenging capacities against DPPH and hydroxyl radicals, and virtual docking activities inhibiting COX-2 and 5-LOX, respectively. Abstract: A 54-year-old woman with a history of end-stage renal disease was found to have infiltrative cardiomyopathy by echocardiography. 99m Tc-pyrophosphate ( 99m Tc-PYP) scintigraphy was positive with a remarkable myocardial uptake. Gene test found a mutation of AGXT , confirming a final diagnosis of primary hyperoxaluria. Radiotracer uptake was due to high myocardial oxalate deposition. Background: COVID-19 began in December 2019, rapidly spreading worldwide. China implemented a dynamic zero-COVID strategy and strict control measures after the outbreak. However, Guangzhou city ended closed-off management by the end of November 2022, leading to exposure to SARS-CoV-2. Despite most hospitalized patients being infected or co-infected with SARS-CoV-2, some remained uninfected. We report two cases of bacterial pneumonia with elevated globulin levels not infected with SARS-CoV-2, aiming to identify protection factors of SARS-CoV-2 infection and provide a scientific basis for SARS-CoV-2 prevention., Case Presentation: Case 1, a 92-year-old male, admitted on October 21, 2022, developed worsening cough and sputum after aspiration, diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli (CRE) and carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) infections. He was treated with imipenem anti-infective therapy and mechanical ventilation, then switched to a combination of meropenem, voriconazole and amikacin anti-infective therapy due to recurrent infections and septic shock, and died of sepsis on 8 January 2023. Case 2 is an 82-year-old male admitted on 30 September 2022, with recurrent cough, sputum, and shortness of breath, diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia with carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) and Mycobacterium pneumoniae infections. He was treated with ventilator-assisted ventilation, meropenem, amikacin, tigecycline and mucomycin nebulization and discharged with improvement on 26 October. He was readmitted on 21 November 2022 and diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia. He was treated with cefoperazone sulbactam, amikacin, meropenem and fluconazole and discharged on 31 December. Neither patient was infected with SARS-CoV-2 during hospitalization. Notably, their globulin levels were elevated before SARS-CoV-2 exposure, gradually decreasing afterward., Conclusions: Patients with bacterial pneumonia with high globulin levels likely have large amounts of immunoglobulin, and that immunoglobulin cross-reactivity causes this protein to be involved in clearing SARS-CoV-2 and preventing infection. Therefore, bacterial pneumonia patients with high globulin levels included in this study were not infected with SARS-CoV-2. After exposure to SARS-CoV-2, the amount of globulin in the patient's body was reduced because it was used to clear SARS-CoV-2. There are few reports of poisoning caused by high-dose intravenous injection of mercury. Its clinical manifestations are diverse and the risk of mortality is high. Currently, the pathogenesis is not clear and the treatment experience is insufficient, leading to difficulties in clinical diagnosis and treatment. In this article, the data of a case of mercury poisoning caused by intravenous self-administration was analyzed and summarized. The patient developed multiple organ dysfunction syndrome after intravenous injection of high-dose mercury. After comprehensive treatment, such as mercury removal, organ support, and infection prevention, the condition was improved. This case suggests that intravenous injection of mercury can cause damage to the functions of multiple organs, such as the heart, lungs, and kidneys. Early treatment and intervention can bring benefits.

Purpose: Our research aims to compare the predictive performance of decision tree algorithms (DT) and logistic regression analysis (LR) in constructing models, and develop a Post-Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS) risk stratification tool., Methods: We retrospectively collected and analyzed relevant case information of 618 patients diagnosed with DVT from January 2012 to December 2021 in three different tertiary hospitals in Jiangxi Province as the modeling group. Additionally, we used the case information of 212 patients diagnosed with DVT from January 2022 to January 2023 in two tertiary hospitals in Hubei Province and Guangdong Province as the validation group. We extracted electronic medical record information including general patient data, medical history, laboratory test indicators, and treatment data for analysis. We established DT and LR models and compared their predictive performance using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and confusion matrices. Internal and external validations were conducted. Additionally, we utilized LR to generate nomogram charts, calibration curves, and decision curves analysis (DCA) to assess its predictive accuracy., Results: Both DT and LR models indicate that Year, Residence, Cancer, Varicose Vein Operation History, DM, and Chronic VTE are risk factors for PTS occurrence. In internal validation, DT outperforms LR (0.962 vs 0.925, z = 3.379, P < 0.001). However, in external validation, there is no significant difference in the area under the ROC curve between the two models (0.963 vs 0.949, z = 0.412, P = 0.680). The validation results of calibration curves and DCA demonstrate that LR exhibits good predictive accuracy and clinical effectiveness. Currently, glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) has been widely used to assess the glycemic control of patients with diabetes. However, HbA1c has certain limitations in describing both short-term and long-term glycemic control. To more accurately evaluate the glycemic control of diabetes patients, the continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology has emerged. CGM technology can provide robust data on short-term glycemic control and introduce new monitoring parameters such as time in range, time above range, and time below range as indicators of glycemic fluctuation. These indicators are used to describe the changes in glycemic control after interventions in clinical research or treatment modifications in diabetes patient care. Recent studies both domestically and internationally have shown that these indicators are not only associated with microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus but also closely related to cardiovascular disease complications and prognosis. Therefore, this article aims to comprehensively review the association between CGM-based glycemic parameters and cardiovascular disease complications by analyzing a large number of domestic and international literature. The purpose is to provide scientific evidence and guidance for the standardized application of these indicators in clinical practice, in order to better evaluate the glycemic control of diabetes patients and prevent the occurrence of cardiovascular disease complications. Objective: The purpose of this study is to assess the physical and psychological conditions of hospitalized patients who were infected with COVID-19 in Wuhan, China, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and post-traumatic growth (PTG) scores and predictors., Methods: The test group consisted of 102 hospitalized patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Wuhan between March 4, 2020 and April 5, 2020, whereas the control group comprised 168 healthy study participants. Relevant information of the study participants was obtained using online questionnaires, covering five aspects-general information, physical state, emotional state, PTSD, and PTG., Results: In Wuhan, 37.3% of COVID-19-diagnosed hospitalized patients exhibited hyper-arousal symptoms of PTSD. This percentage is significantly higher than the 13.1% observed in the healthy population. Furthermore, the prevalence of PTG among the same group of hospitalized patients stood at 77.5%, surpassing the 66.1% rate found within the healthy population. It was determined that inconsistent sleep patterns during the hospitalization phase could be indicative of heightened vulnerability to hyperarousal symptoms of PTSD in COVID-19-diagnosed hospitalized patients. The study determined that inconsistent sleep patterns during hospitalization may be a predisposition factor that makes hospitalized patients diagnosed with covid-19 more susceptible to high arousal symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Conversely, COVID-19-diagnosed hospitalized patients who maintained a tranquil demeanor and exhibited positive emotional perceptions during their hospitalization displayed reduced susceptibility to these PTSD symptoms. Factors such as possession of a bachelor's degree, history of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) infection, and poor sleep patterns were identified as predictors elevating the risk of PTG. Whereas, a sentiment of happiness and consistent positive emotional perception during hospitalization were predictors of PTG. To improve nitrogen removal efficiency (NRE) and achieve homogenous distribution of anammox sludge and substrate, a new substrate equalization theory and a cumulative overload index was proposed for multifed upflow anaerobic sludge bed (MUASB) reactors with mature anammox granules. The performance and flow patterns of MUASB reactors were investigated under various influent conditions. The results showed that the nitrogen removal performance and stability of MUASB reactors could be optimized by minimizing the cumulative load. The NRE gradually increased from 83.3 ± 2.2 %, 86.8 ± 4.2 % to 89.3 ± 4.1 % and 89.7 ± 1.6 % in feeding flow tests and feeding port tests, respectively. Furthermore, the flow patterns were compared based on residence time distribution and computational fluid dynamics, indicating that a better equilibrium distribution of microorganisms and substrates could be achieved in the MUASB reactors under the lowest cumulative load. P2X7 receptor (P2X7R) plays an important role in modulating inflammation and fibrosis, but information is limited whether Zusanli (ST36) can inhibit inflammation and fibrosis by regulating P2X7R. Isoprenaline at 5 mg/kg was subcutaneously injected to wild-type and P2X7R knockout mice for 7 days, while treatment groups received electroacupuncture (EA) stimulation at ST36 for 7 sessions. Following 7-session treatment, Masson's trichrome staining was performed to assess the fibrosis. Morphology, electrocardiogram, and echocardiography were carried out to evaluate the cardiac function and structure. Western blotting, hematoxylin and eosin staining, immunohistochemistry, and biochemical analysis of inflammatory cytokine and transmission electron microscopy were carried out to characterize the effect of ST36 on inflammation. P2X7R was overexpressed in ISO-treated mice. EA at ST36, but not at non-points, reduced ISO-induced cardiac fibrosis, increases in HW/BW, R+S wave relative to mice in ISO groups. In addition, EA at ST36 downregulated ISO-upregulated P2X7R and NLRP3 in ventricle. Moreover, EA reduced cytokines of IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-18 in serum, and inhibited foam cell gathering, inflammatory cell infiltration, and autophagy. However, EA at ST36 failed to attenuate the cardiac fibrosis and hypertrophy in P2X7R knockout mice. In conclusion, EA at ST36 attenuated ISO-induced fibrosis possibly via P2X7R., (© 2024. In this study, we explored the changes in plant community diversity and their relationship with soil factors under shrub encroachment pressure by selecting four marsh areas in Sanjiang Plain with different degrees of shrub cover ( a , 0≤ a ≤100%), including marsh with no shrub encroachment ( a =0), light shrub encroachment (0< a ≤30%), medium shrub encroachment (30%< a ≤70%), and heavy shrub encroachment (70%< a ≤100%). The results showed that shrub encroachment was the main reason for the heterogeneity of plant community composition in marsh. With shrub encroachment, the dominant species Deyeuxia angustifolia was replaced by Spiraea salicifolia , whereas Carex schmidtii disappeared. However, the importance values of Sanguisorba tenuifolia and Stellaria radians in the community significantly increased by 0.8- and 9.0-fold, respectively. Shrub encroachment resulted in changes of plant community diversity in marsh. The highest α and β diversity in plant community were observed under light shrub encroachment area, whereas there were no significant differences in Shannon and Simpson indices between heavy and no shrub encroachment areas, despite their similarity in plant community composition was the lowest. All the studied soil factors were significantly affected by shrub encroachment, except total phosphorus. There were significant reductions in soil moisture, organic carbon, and total nitrogen in heavy marsh shrub encroachment area by 32.6%, 69.3%, and 66.1%, respectively compared with that in no marsh shrub encroachment area, whereas soil total potassium and total magnesium significantly increased by 33.8% and 40.6%, respectively. Results of redundancy analysis showed that soil organic carbon, moisture content, total nitrogen, and N:P were the main factors controlling the diversity changes of marsh plant community under shrub encroachment pressure.

This study aims to elucidate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of Jingfang Granules on acute lung injury, and to investigate the regulatory effect of Jingfang Granules on the metabolic disorders of endogenous metabolites in feces and the homeostasis of intestinal microbiota in acute lung injury, mice were randomly divided into a sham group, a model group, and a Jingfang Granules group. After modeling, the mice were continuously administered for 6 days. Using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography quadrupole/electrostatic field orbital trap high-resolution mass spectrometry(UHPLC-HESI-QE-Orbitrap-MS/MS) metabolomics technology and 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing technology, changes in endogenous small molecule substances and gut microbiota in mouse intestines were determined, and potential biomarkers were identified. The results showed that Jingfang Granules can regulate 11 biomarkers, including L-glutamic acid, succinic acid, arachidonic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, phenylalanine, sphingosine, 2-hydroxy-2-methyl butyric acid, pyruvate, tryptophan, and palmitic acid. Metabolic pathway analysis was conducted on these 11 biomarkers using the online software MetaboAnalyst, identifying potential major metabolic pathways. Among them, a total of 10 metabolic pathways are closely related to the treatment of acute lung injury with Jingfang Granules, including alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism, aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis, citrate cycle(TCA cycle), alyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism, arginine and proline metabolism, linoleic acid metabolism and linolenic acid metabolism, nitrogen metabolism, D-glutamine and D-gluta-matemetabolism, phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan biosynthesis, phenylalanine metabolism. The results of gut microbiota showed significant differences in bacteria, mainly including Bacteroides, Akkermansia, Lachnospiraceae＿NK4A136＿group, Lachnochlostridium, and Klebsiella. Spearman analysis confirms that Akkermansia and Lachnospiraceae＿NK4A136＿group is a significant positive correlation between the abundance of succinic acid, arachidonic acid, linolenic acid, linoleic acid, butyric acid, and pyruvate in the group; Bacteroides, Klebsiella, Lachnochlostrium are significantly positively correlated with the abundance of L-glutamic acid, phenylalanine, and sphingosine. The above results indicate that the therapeutic effect of Jingfang Granules on acute lung injury is achieved by improving the imbalance of gut microbiota in mice with acute lung injury, balancing the metabolism of alanine, biosynthesis of aminoacyl tRNA, aspartic acid, glutamate, tricarboxylic acid cycle, biosynthesis of phenylalanine, tyrosine, tryptophan, and metabolism of linoleic acid.

The Carnett's test is a diagnostic tool used to distinguish between abdominal wall pain and visceral pain. This review synthesizes the current literature on the Carnett's test, merges the viewpoints of diverse writers, and evaluates and reports on the Carnett's test's applicability., Recent Findings: Several clinical investigations have established the usefulness of the Carnett's test in the diagnosis of chronic abdominal wall pain. Furthermore, the Carnett's test is quite useful in determining the depth of the mass and detecting psychogenic abdominal pain. However, its diagnostic use for acute abdominal pain is limited. The Carnett's test is a simple and safe point-of-care diagnostic technique, with several studies supporting its usefulness. Early detection of abdominal wall pain is critical for chronic abdominal wall pain therapy. Background: The molecular mechanisms underlying window of implantation (WOI) displacement in patients with recurrent implantation failure (RIF) remain unclear. This study aims to explore the transcriptomic signatures of endometrium with normal and displaced WOIs and to identify the causes of endometrial receptivity (ER) abnormalities and WOI displacement in RIF patients., Methods: In this study, 40 RIF patients were recruited and underwent personalized embryo transfer (pET) guided by the predicted results of endometrial receptivity diagnosis (ERD) model. Transcriptome analysis of endometrium from patients with clinical pregnancies after pET was performed to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with WOI displacement. Gene expression data from HRT and natural cycle endometrium were compared to identify specific gene expression patterns of ER-related genes during WOI., Results: The ERD results indicated that 67.5% of RIF patients (27/40) were non-receptive in the conventional WOI (P+5) of the HRT cycle. The clinical pregnancy rate in RIF patients improved to 65% (26/40) after ERD-guided pET, indicating the effectiveness of transcriptome-based WOI prediction. Among the 26 patients with clinical pregnancy, the gene expression profiles of P+5 endometrium from advanced (n=6), normal (n=10) and delayed (n=10) WOI groups were significantly different from each other. Furthermore, 10 DEGs identified among P+5 endometrium of 3 groups were involved in immunomodulation, transmembrane transport and tissue regeneration, which could accurately classify the endometrium with different WOIs. Additionally, a large number of ER-related genes showed significant correlation and similar gene expression patterns in P+3, P+5, and P+7 endometrium from HRT cycles and LH+5, LH+7, and LH+9 endometrium from natural cycles., Conclusion: Our study shows that ER-related genes share similar gene expression patterns during WOI in both natural and HRT cycles, and their aberrant expression is associated with WOI displacements. With the discovery of two-dimensional (2D) ferroelectric materials such as CuInP 2 S 6 and α -In 2 Se 3 , the ferroelectric field effect transistors (Fe-FETs) based on these materials have entered a rapid-development period. The metal/semiconductor contact is an unavoidable topic in the construction of devices. In this paper, heterostructures α -In 2 Se 3 /metals (Pd, Pt, Cu, Ag and Au) are discussed. According to different stacking types, the structures and energy of 160 heterostructures are calculated and compared. When α -In 2 Se 3 contacts with the Pd, Pt and Cu, the α -In 2 Se 3 may transforms into β -In 2 Se 3 . This phenomenon has hardly been mentioned or analyzed in previous reports. Contacting with the Au and Ag, the α -In 2 Se 3 maintains the original structure. The internal physical mechanism of phase transition is explained from the binding energy and the charge transfer. Background: The vasoplegic syndrome is one of the major consequences of cardiac surgery. If pulmonary hypertension is additionally involved with vasoplegic syndrome, circulation management becomes much more complicated. According to previous studies, pituitrin (a substitute for vasopressin, which contains vasopressin and oxytocin) not only constricts systemic circulation vessels and increases systemic circulation pressure but also likely decreases pulmonary artery pressure and pulmonary vascular resistance. The aim of this study is to investigate whether pituitrin is beneficial for the postoperative outcomes in patients with pulmonary hypertension undergoing cardiac surgery., Methods and Analysis: The randomized controlled trial will include an intervention group continuously infused with 0.04 U/(kg h) of pituitrin and a control group. Adult patients with pulmonary hypertension undergoing elective cardiac surgery will be included in this study. Patients who meet the conditions and give their consent will be randomly assigned to the intervention group or the control group. The primary outcome is the composite endpoint of all-cause mortality within 30 days after surgery or common complications after cardiac surgery. Secondary outcomes include the incidence of other postoperative complications, length of hospital stay, and so on., Discussion: Pituitrin constricts systemic circulation vessels, increases systemic circulation pressure, and may reduce pulmonary artery pressure and pulmonary vascular resistance, which makes it a potentially promising vasopressor during the perioperative period in patients with pulmonary hypertension. Ribosome biogenesis is essential for cell growth, proliferation, and animal development. Its deregulation leads to various human disorders such as ribosomopathies and cancer. Thus, tight regulation of ribosome biogenesis is crucial for normal cell homeostasis. Emerging evidence suggests that posttranslational modifications such as ubiquitination and SUMOylation play a crucial role in regulating ribosome biogenesis. Our recent studies reveal that USP36, a nucleolar deubiquitinating enzyme (DUB), acts also as a SUMO ligase to regulate nucleolar protein group SUMOylation, thereby being essential for ribosome biogenesis. Here, we provide an overview of the current understanding of the SUMOylation regulation of ribosome biogenesis and discuss the role of USP36 in nucleolar SUMOylation.

Prenatal stress has been extensively documented as a contributing factor to adverse cardiac development and function in fetuses and infants. The release of glucocorticoids (GCs), identified as a significant stressor, may be a potential factor inducing cardiac hypertrophy. However, the underlying mechanism remains largely unknown. Herein, we discovered that corticosterone (CORT) overload induced cardiac hypertrophy in embryonic chicks and fetal mice in vivo , as well as enlarged cardiomyocytes in vitro . The impaired mitochondria dynamics were observed in CORT-exposed cardiomyocytes, accompanied by dysfunction in oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production. This phenomenon was found to be linked to decreased mitochondrial fusion protein mitofusin 2 (MFN2). Subsequently, we found that CORT facilitated the ubiquitin-proteasome-system-dependent degradation of MFN2 with an enhanced binding of appoptosin to MFN2, serving as the underlying cause. Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) plays a crucial role in the assessment of greenhouse gas emission and carbon balance in peatlands. However, limited research has been conducted on the seasonal variations and properties of soil water DOC content at different depths in the permafrost peatlands of the Great Hing'an Mountains. In this study, we analyzed the seasonal patterns of soil water DOC contents (surface, 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm, and permafrost layer) the permafrost peatlands of the Great Hing'an Mountains (Tuqiang Forestry Bureau), and investigated the influencing factors, such as electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, HCO 3 - concentration, pH value, oxidation-reduction potential, and CO 2 content. The stability of DOC was assessed by using UV-Vis spectrum. There were significant seasonal dynamics of DOC content in soil water, with higher contents in autumn and lower content in summer, ranging from 55.7 to 188.1 mg·L -1 . There were significant differences in DOC content among different soil depths, with the highest levels detected in the permafrost layer. The DOC content showed a significantly positive correlation with pH value and electrical conductivity, while showed a significantly negative correlation with redox potential, HCO 3 - concentration, and dissolved oxygen content. Additionally, there was a significantly positive correlation between DOC and CO 2 contents. The dissolved CO 2 content in soil water increased with soil depth, with the highest content observed in the permafrost layer. Results of spectral analysis showed higher aromaticity in autumn compared to summer, indicating greater stability of DOC during the autumn season. Our results clarified the seasonal variations of soil water DOC in permafrost peatlands of the Great Hing'an Mountains and could provide important data to understand the carbon cycling in the region.

The ability of knowledge, attitude, and practice of intensive care unit (ICU) nurses to perform medical device-related pressure injuries (MDRPIs) can affect the incidence of MDRPI in ICU patients. Therefore, in order to improve ICU nurses' understanding and nursing ability of MDRPIs, we investigated the non-linear relationship (synergistic and superimposed relationships) between the factors influencing ICU nurses' ability of knowledge, attitude, and practice. A Clinical Nurses' Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice Questionnaire for the Prevention of MDRPI in Critically Ill Patients was administered to 322 ICU nurses from tertiary hospitals in China from January 1, 2022 to June 31, 2022. After the questionnaire was distributed, the data were collected and sorted out, and the corresponding statistical analysis and modelling software was used to analyse the data. IBM SPSS 25.0 software was used to conduct Single factor analysis and Logistic regression analysis on the data, so as to screen the statistically significant influencing factors. IBM SPSS Modeler18.0 software was used to construct a decision tree model of the factors influencing MDRPI knowledge, attitude, and practice of ICU nurses, and ROC curves were plotted to analyse the accuracy of the model. The results showed that the overall passing rate of ICU nurses' knowledge, attitude, and practice score was 72%. The statistically significant predictor variables ranked in importance were education background (0.35), training (0.31), years of working (0.24), and professional title (0.10). AUC = 0.718, model prediction performance is good. There is a synergistic and superimposed relationship between high education background, attended training, high years of working and high professional title. Nurses with the above factors have strong MDRPI knowledge, attitude, and practice ability. Therefore, nursing managers can develop a reasonable and effective scheduling system and MDRPI training program based on the study results. Psychological stress increases the susceptibility to herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) infection. There is no effective intervention due to the unknown pathogenesis mechanisms. In this study we explored the molecular mechanisms underlying stress-induced HSV-1 susceptibility and the antiviral effect of a natural compound rosmarinic acid (RA) in vivo and in vitro. Mice were administered RA (11.7, 23.4 mg·kg -1 ·d -1 , i.g.) or acyclovir (ACV, 206 mg·kg -1 ·d -1 , i.g.) for 23 days. The mice were subjected to restraint stress for 7 days followed by intranasal infection with HSV-1 on D7. At the end of RA or ACV treatment, mouse plasma samples and brain tissues were collected for analysis. We showed that both RA and ACV treatment significantly decreased stress-augmented mortality and alleviated eye swelling and neurological symptoms in HSV-1-infected mice. In SH-SY5Y cells and PC12 cells exposed to the stress hormone corticosterone (CORT) plus HSV-1, RA (100 μM) significantly increased the cell viability, and inhibited CORT-induced elevation in the expression of viral proteins and genes. We demonstrated that CORT (50 μM) triggered lipoxygenase 15 (ALOX15)-mediated redox imbalance in the neuronal cells, increasing the level of 4-HNE-conjugated STING, which impaired STING translocation from the endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi; the abnormality of STING-mediated innate immunity led to HSV-1 susceptibility. We revealed that RA was an inhibitor of lipid peroxidation by directly targeting ALOX15, thus RA could rescue stress-weakened neuronal innate immune response, thereby reducing HSV-1 susceptibility in vivo and in vitro. This study illustrates the critical role of lipid peroxidation in stress-induced HSV-1 susceptibility and reveals the potential for developing RA as an effective intervention in anti-HSV-1 therapy., (© 2023. Hepatic macrophages represent a key cellular component of the liver and are essential for the progression of acute liver failure (ALF). We construct artificial apoptotic cells loaded with itaconic acid (AI-Cells), wherein the compositions of the synthetic plasma membrane and surface topology are rationally engineered. AI-Cells are predominantly localized to the liver and further transport to hepatic macrophages. Intravenous administration of AI-Cells modulates macrophage inflammation to protect the liver from acetaminophen-induced ALF. Mechanistically, AI-Cells act on caspase-1 to suppress NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated cleavage of pro-IL-1β into its active form in macrophages. Notably, AI-Cells specifically induce anti-inflammatory memory-like hepatic macrophages in ALF mice, which prevent constitutive overproduction of IL-1β when liver reinjury occurs. To understand the variations in greenhouse gas fluxes during the process of returning cropland to wetland in the Sanjiang Plain, we selected naturally restored wetlands of 4, 7, 11, 16 and 20 years as research objects to compare with a cultivated site (soybean plantation for 13 years) and an uncultivated marsh dominated by Deyeuxia purpurea and Carex schmidtii . We measured carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) and methane (CH 4 ) fluxes using a static chamber-gas chromatography and explored the main influencing factors. The results showed that there were seasonal variations in growing-season CO 2 and CH 4 fluxes of the restored wetlands, with the seasonal trends in greenhouse gases becoming gradually similar to that of natural marsh with increasing restoration time. The mean growing-season CO 2 fluxes increased during the early stage of restoration, but then decreased during the late stage, which decreased from 893.4 mg·m -2 ·h -1 to 494.0 mg·m -2 ·h -1 in the 4-year and 20-year sites, respectively. Mean CH 4 fluxes increased with restoration time, ranging from a weak CH 4 sink (soybean fields, -0.6 mg·m -2 ·h -1 ) to a CH 4 source of 87.8 mg·m -2 ·h -1 (20-year restored site). The CH 4 fluxes of experimental plots were consistently lower than that of natural marsh (96.4 mg·m -2 ·h -1 ). Increases in water level and soil conductivity resulting from restoration were the main driving factors for the decrease in CO 2 fluxes. The increases in water level and soil dissolved organic carbon resulting from restoration were the primary drivers for the increase of CH 4 fluxes in the restored wetlands. The global warming potentials increased with restoration time, ranging from 27.8 t·CO 2 -eq·hm -2 (soybean fields) to 130.8 t·CO 2 -eq·hm -2 (plot of 20-year restoration), which gradually approached that of natural marsh (156.3 t·CO 2 -eq·hm -2 ). The emission of GHGs from restored wetlands in the Sanjiang Plain gradually approached those of natural marsh. Further monitoring is required to identify the maturity of restored wetlands for achieving greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to that of natural marshland.

Immunotherapy has changed the way many cancers are being treated. Researchers in the field of immunotherapy and tumor immunology are investigating similar questions: How can the positive benefits achieved with immunotherapies be enhanced? Can this be achieved through combinations with other agents and if so, which ones? In our view, there is an urgent need to improve immunotherapy to make further gains in the overall survival for those patients that should benefit from immunotherapy. While numerous different approaches are being considered, our team believes that drug delivery methods along with appropriately selected small-molecule drugs and drug candidates could help reach the goal of doubling the overall survival rate that is seen in some patients that are given immunotherapeutics. This review article is prepared to address how immunotherapies should be combined with a second treatment using an approach that could realize therapeutic gains 10 years from now. For context, an overview of immunotherapy and cancer angiogenesis is provided. The major targets in angiogenesis that have modulatory effects on the tumor microenvironment and immune cells are highlighted. A combination approach that, for us, has the greatest potential for success involves treatments that will normalize the tumor's blood vessel structure and alter the immune microenvironment to support the action of immunotherapeutics. So, this is reviewed as well. Our focus is to provide an insight into some strategies that will engender vascular normalization that may be better than previously described approaches. The potential for drug delivery systems to promote tumor blood vessel normalization is considered.

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) among patients in Guangzhou city, South China, and to identify susceptible patient populations and analyze the causes of infection differences., Methods: From May 2020 to May 2022, a total of 637 sera were collected from patients, and 205 sera were collected from health participants as health control. All sera were examined by colloidal gold kits to detect the positivity of antibodies against T. gondii. And the positivity of antibodies in sera was confirmed with ARCHITECT i2000SR system., Results: The prevalence of T. gondii infection in patients was 7.06% (45/637), which was lower than the prevalence in health participants 4.88% (10/205). Among patients, 34 (5.34%) were positive only for IgG, 10 (1.57%) were only for IgM, and 1 (0.16%) was positive for both IgG and IgM. There was a significant difference in prevalence between male and female patients, but not among different age groups or diseases groups. The prevalence of T. gondii infection in diseases groups varied. The prevalence was relatively high in patients with the disorders of thyroid gland and the malignant neoplasms of digestive organs, which suggests that caution should be taken to avoid T. gondii infection in these patients. Surprisingly, the prevalence was quite low in diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (DLBC) patients. This may be due to the overexpression of TNF-α in tumor tissues of DLBC patients and the higher protein level of TNF-α in sera of DLBC patients., Conclusion: This study provides a systematic exploration of the prevalence of T. gondii infection in patients in a tertiary hospital. The RNA exosome is an essential 3' to 5' exoribonuclease complex that mediates degradation, processing and quality control of virtually all eukaryotic RNAs. The nucleolar RNA exosome, consisting of a nine-subunit core and a distributive 3' to 5' exonuclease EXOSC10, plays a critical role in processing and degrading nucleolar RNAs, including pre-rRNA. However, how the RNA exosome is regulated in the nucleolus is poorly understood. Here, we report that the nucleolar ubiquitin-specific protease USP36 is a novel regulator of the nucleolar RNA exosome. USP36 binds to the RNA exosome through direct interaction with EXOSC10 in the nucleolus. Interestingly, USP36 does not significantly regulate the levels of EXOSC10 and other tested exosome subunits. Instead, it mediates EXOSC10 SUMOylation at lysine (K) 583. Mutating K583 impaired the binding of EXOSC10 to pre-rRNAs, and the K583R mutant failed to rescue the defects in rRNA processing and cell growth inhibition caused by knockdown of endogenous EXOSC10. Furthermore, EXOSC10 SUMOylation is markedly reduced in cells in response to perturbation of ribosomal biogenesis. Together, these results suggest that USP36 acts as a SUMO ligase to promote EXOSC10 SUMOylation critical for the RNA exosome function in ribosome biogenesis., (© The Author(s) 2023. miRNA biogenesis is a cellular process that produces mature miRNAs from their primary transcripts, pri-miRNAs, via two RNAse III enzyme complexes: the Drosha-DGCR8 microprocessor complex in the nucleus and the Dicer-TRBP complex in the cytoplasm. Emerging evidence suggests that miRNA biogenesis is tightly regulated by posttranscriptional and posttranslational modifications and aberrant miRNA biogenesis is associated with various human diseases including cancer. DGCR8 has been shown to be modified by SUMOylation. Yet, the SUMO ligase mediating DGCR8 SUMOylation is currently unknown. Here, we report that USP36, a nucleolar ubiquitin-specific protease essential for ribosome biogenesis, is a novel regulator of DGCR8. USP36 interacts with the microprocessor complex and promotes DGCR8 SUMOylation, specifically modified by SUMO2. USP36-mediated SUMOylation does not affect the levels of DGCR8 and the formation of the Drosha-DGCR8 complex, but promotes the binding of DGCR8 to pri-miRNAs. Consistently, abolishing DGCR8 SUMOylation significantly attenuates its binding to pri-miRNAs and knockdown of USP36 attenuates pri-miRNA processing, resulting in marked reduction of tested mature miRNAs. Induced expression of a SUMOylation-defective mutant of DGCR8 inhibits cell proliferation. Together, these results suggest that USP36 plays an important role in regulating miRNA biogenesis by SUMOylating DGCR8., Significance: This study identifies that USP36 mediates DGCR8 SUMOylation by SUMO2 and is critical for miRNA biogenesis. Autoimmune diseases such as ankylosing spondylitis (AS) can be driven by emerging neoantigens that disrupt immune tolerance. Here, we developed a workflow to profile posttranslational modifications involved in neoantigen formation. Using mass spectrometry, we identified a panel of cysteine residues differentially modified by carboxyethylation that required 3-hydroxypropionic acid to generate neoantigens in patients with AS. The lysosomal degradation of integrin αIIb [ITGA2B (CD41)] carboxyethylated at Cys96 (ITGA2B-ceC96) generated carboxyethylated peptides that were presented by HLA-DRB1*04 to stimulate CD4 + T cell responses and induce autoantibody production. Immunization of HLA-DR4 transgenic mice with the ITGA2B-ceC96 peptide promoted colitis and vertebral bone erosion. Thus, metabolite-induced cysteine carboxyethylation can give rise to pathogenic neoantigens that lead to autoreactive CD4 + T cell responses and autoantibody production in autoimmune diseases.

Objective: To translate the English version Child Food Neophobia Scale (CFNS) into the Chinese version and test its reliability and validity in preschool children., Methods: To create the Chinese version of the CFNS, it was translated, back-translated, and cross-culturally adapted. The use of the Chinese version of CFNS by 575 parents of preschool children in two kindergartens in Yangzhou City was investigated using cluster sampling to assess the reliability and validity of the scale., Results: The Chinese version of CFNS has nine items in total. The scale-level average content validity index (S-CVI/Ave) is 0.983. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) extracted 2 common factors, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 49.437%. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) showed that the 2-factor model was well fitted. The Cronbach'α coefficient of the scale was 0.759, the Cronbach'α coefficients of the two factors were 0.735 and 0.713, the split-half reliability was 0.788, and the test-retest reliability was 0.756., Conclusion: The Chinese version of the Child Food Neophobia Scale has good reliability and validity in preschool children and can be used as an assessment tool for food neophobia in preschool children in China., Practice Implications: This study has gone through a rigorous translation process, and the CFNS may support future exploration of food neophobia in preschool children. Meplazumab, a humanized CD147 antibody, has shown favourable safety and efficacy in our previous clinical studies. In DEFLECT (NCT04586153), 167 patients with severe COVID-19 were enroled and randomized to receive three dosages of meplazumab and a placebo. Meplazumab at 0.12 mg/kg, compared to the placebo group, showed clinical benefits in significantly reducing mortality by 83.6% (2.4% vs. 14.6%, p = 0.0150), increasing the proportion of patients alive and discharged without supplemental oxygen (82.9% vs. 70.7%, p = 0.0337) and increasing the proportion of patients who achieved sustained clinical improvement (41.5% vs. 31.7%). The response rate in the 0.2 mg/kg group was relatively increased by 16.0% compared with the placebo group (53.7% vs. 46.3%). Meplazumab also reduced the viral loads and multiple cytokine levels. Compare with the placebo group, the 0.3 mg/kg significantly increased the virus negative rate by 40.6% (p = 0.0363) and reduced IL-8 level (p = 0.0460); the 0.2 mg/kg increased the negative conversion rate by 36.9%, and reduced IL-4 (p = 0.0365) and IL-8 levels (p = 0.0484). In this study, the adverse events occurred at a comparable rate across the four groups, with no unexpected safety findings observed. KDM5C is a histone H3K4-specific demethylase, which has been shown to play a key role in biological disease and development. However, the role of KDM5C in trophoblasts at early pregnancy is currently unknown. Here, we showed that KDM5C was upregulated in placental trophoblasts from recurrent miscarriage (RM) patients compared with healthy controls (HCs). Trophoblast proliferation and invasion was inhibited by KDM5C overexpression and was promoted by KDM5C knockdown. Transcriptome sequencing revealed that elevated KDM5C exerted anti-proliferation and anti-invasion effects by repressing the expression of essential regulatory genes. The combination analysis of RNA-seq, ChIP-seq and CUT&Tag assay showed that KDM5C overexpression leads to the reduction of H3K4me3 on the promoters and the corresponding downregulation of expression of several regulatory genes in trophoblasts. Among these genes, TGFβ2 and RAGE are essential for the proliferation and invasion of trophoblasts. Importantly, overexpression of KDM5C by a systemically delivered KDM5C adenovirus vector (Ad-KDM5C) promoted embryo resorption rate in mouse. Objective: Whether exercise-induced venous-to-systemic shunt (EIS) during cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) has different manifestations or characteristics in idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) patients remains unknown. We explored the differences in hemodynamics, echocardiography, and prognosis between IPAH and CTEPH patients with and without EIS., Methods: We conducted a retrospective cross-sectional cohort study and included 161 PH patients at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital. Demographic, echocardiography, pulmonary hemodynamic, and CPET variables were compared between patients with and without EIS stratified by IPAH and CTEPH. EIS was determined by CPET. Binary logistic regression analyses were performed to explore independent influencing factors of EIS. Cox survival analysis was used to quantify the impact of EIS on the prognosis of patients., Results: Exercise-induced venous-to-systemic shunt was found in approximately 17.4% of 86 IPAH patients and 20% of 75 CTEPH patients. All-cause mortality occurred in 43 (26.7%) patients during a median follow-up of 6.5 years. Compared with those without EIS, patients with EIS had higher peak end-tidal O 2 and lower VO 2 /VE and tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE). Among the IPAH patients, EIS was associated with lower cardiac output, cardiac index, mixed venous oxygen saturation, VO 2 /VE, and TAPSE and higher VE/VCO 2 and right ventricular end-diastolic transverse diameter. Logistic regression analysis indicated that VO 2 /VE was an independent factor influencing whether IPAH patients developed EIS during CPET. Cox logistic regression indicated that female IPAH patients or IPAH patients with higher VO 2 /VE and EIS had a better prognosis. Female IPAH patients had better 10-year survival. In IPAH patients without EIS, patients with higher VO 2 /VE had better 10-year survival. However, compared with CTEPH patients without EIS, those with EIS had similar echocardiographic, hemodynamic, CPET parameter results and 10-year survival., Conclusion: Exercise-induced venous-to-systemic shunt exhibits different profiles among IPAH and CTEPH patients. Among IPAH patients, those with EIS had worse peak end-tidal O 2 , VO 2 /VE, and TAPSE than those without EIS. VO 2 /VE was an independent factor of EIS among IPAH patients. IPAH patients with EIS, female sex or higher VO 2 /VE had better survival. COVID-19 patients can develop clinical and histopathological features associated with fibrosis, but the pathogenesis of fibrosis remains poorly understood. CD147 has been identified as a universal receptor for SARS-CoV-2 and its variants, which could initiate COVID-19-related cytokine storm. Here, we systemically analyzed lung pathogenesis in SARS-CoV-2- and its delta variant-infected humanized CD147 transgenic mice. Histopathology and Transmission Electron Microscopy revealed inflammation, fibroblast expansion and pronounced fibrotic remodeling in SARS-CoV-2-infected lungs. Consistently, RNA-sequencing identified a set of fibrosis signature genes. Furthermore, we identified CD147 as a crucial regulator for fibroblast activation induced by SARS-CoV-2. We found conditional knockout of CD147 in fibroblast suppressed activation of fibroblasts, decreasing susceptibility to bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis. Meplazumab, a CD147 antibody, was able to inhibit the accumulation of activated fibroblasts and the production of ECM proteins, thus alleviating the progression of pulmonary fibrosis caused by SARS-CoV-2. In conclusion, we demonstrated that CD147 contributed to SARS-CoV-2-triggered progressive pulmonary fibrosis and identified CD147 as a potential therapeutic target for treating patients with post-COVID-19 pulmonary fibrosis., (© 2022. Background: The fall armyworm (FAW) Spodoptera frugiperda Smith (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) invaded Myanmar and China in 2018 and greatly impacted agricultural production and ecosystem balance in these areas. FAW is a migratory insect, but its seasonal migration pattern between the two countries has been largely unknown. From 2019 to 2021, we monitored the seasonal migration of FAW in the China-Myanmar border area using a searchlight trap, assessed the reproductive development status of female migrants and traced the migratory routes by trajectory simulation., Results: FAW moths were trapped by the searchlight trap in Lancang County (Yunnan, China) all year, with obvious seasonal differences in the number caught. There were small-scale persistent trapping peaks in spring and summer, and obvious peaks in autumn; only a small number of moths were trapped in winter. Examination of the ovaries of female moths collected in different seasons showed that most females had matured, indicating that the moths were migrating and did not take off from the local area. In the migration trajectory simulation, FAW mainly migrated from Myanmar to Southwest China in spring and summer and back to Myanmar in autumn., Conclusion: Our findings indicate that FAW migrates between China and Myanmar according to the monsoon circulation, which will help guide cross-border regional monitoring and management strategies against this pest. © 2022 Society of Chemical Industry., (© 2022 Society of Chemical Industry.)

Background: Immunotherapy has been proved to have a large effect on extensive-stage small cell lung cancer, but the role of immunotherapy in limited-stage small-cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC) is still unknown., Methods: A retrospective study of six patients with LS-SCLC who were treated with neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy (durvalumab plus etoposide combined with cisplatin) was performed. Patients were evaluated by the safety, feasibility and pathologic responses of neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy., Results: Neoadjuvant durvalumab combined chemotherapy was associated with few immediate adverse events and did not delay planned surgery. All patients achieved partial pathologic response (pPR) instead of major pathologic response, or pathologic complete response. No association was observed between programmed death-ligand 1 expression in tumor specimens and the pathologic response. However, tumors with high expression of immune cells such as CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells and FoxP3+ Tregs tended to have better pathologic responses than tumors with low expression of immune cells., Conclusions: Neoadjuvant durvalumab combined chemotherapy could induce pPR with few side effects in resectable LS-SCLC. The immune cells in the tumor microenvironment might play an important role in neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy in resectable LS-SCLC., (© 2022 The Authors. Piezocatalysis is regarded as a fascinating technology for water remediation and possible disease treatment. A high piezoelectric coefficient ( d 33 ) is one of the most important parameters to determine piezocatalytic performance, which can be manipulated via phase boundary design. Herein, a novel strategy for excellent piezocatalytic activity in lead-free BaTiO 3 -based materials via manipulating the multiphase coexistence is proposed. The piezocatalyst of 0.82Ba(Ti 0.89 Sn 0.11 )O 3 -0.18(Ba 0.7 Ca 0.3 )TiO 3 (0.82BTS-0.18BCT) with multiphase coexistence is prepared, and a large d 33 can be obtained. As a result, 0.82BTS-0.18BCT exhibits excellent piezocatalytic performance for the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB). Furthermore, the removal rate of RhB could reach more than 90% after vibration for 30 min, and the reaction rate constant ( k ) could reach 0.0706 min -1 , which is much superior to that of most other representative perovskite-structured piezoelectric materials. Excellent piezocatalytic performance can be attributed to the strong local ferro-/piezoelectric response induced by the multiphase coexistence, as confirmed by the in situ piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM). Finally, the piezocatalytic degradation mechanism is analyzed systemically and proposed. This work not only provides a high-efficiency piezocatalyst but also sheds light on developing efficient BT-based piezocatalysts by manipulating the multiphase coexistence.

Introduction: Hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia are common during coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and are associated with a variety of postoperative outcomes. Therefore, the strategy of intraoperative glycemic control is an important issue for the patients undergoing CABG. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effect of different intraoperative glycemic control strategies on postoperative outcomes., Methods and Analyses: We will perform this systematic review of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) according to the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Relevant studies will be searched in Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science. Two independent reviewers will conduct study selection, data extraction, risk of bias and quality assessment. The primary outcome is postoperative mortality, and the secondary outcomes include the duration of mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit (ICU), the incidence of postoperative myocardial infarction (MI), the incidence of postoperative atrial fibrillation (AF), the type and volume of blood product transfusion, the rate of rehospitalization, the rate of cerebrovascular accident, the rate of significant postoperative bleeding, the rate of infection, the incidence of acute kidney failure (AKF), hospital and ICU lengths of stay (LOS). ReviewManager 5.4 will be used for data management and statistical analysis. The Cochrane risk-of -bias tool 2.0 and GRADEpro will be applied for risk of bias and quality assessment of the evidence., Discussion: There is no consensus that which strategy of glycemic control is better for improving postoperative complications of patients undergoing CABG.
