This research was conducted referring to the theoretical elements of development communication, while the practical techniques used were not considered. The purpose of this study is to describe the conditions and problems faced by the community in Timor Tengah Selatan Regency (TTS), especially those who carry out people's weaving business and analyze the development communication that occurs in the TTS Regency community. Qualitative methods are used to interpret real-world social problems, including people's behavior, perceptions, and experiences. This study used secondary data. Researchers use dissertations, scientific journals, the internet, and data from related agencies to gather this data. Furthermore, the authors conducted direct interviews with a group of people's weaving craftsmen under the guidance of the Department of Trade, Industry, Cooperatives, and SMEs in the TTS Regency. This study found that development communication in an area has not yet led to empowerment. On the other hand, the dynamics of power between the elderly and the younger generation will continue to be a hallmark of society. Therefore, development communication must be carried out to facilitate the communication structure of different local cultures, and to encourage empowerment not only for parents but also for the younger generation.

This qualitative study explores the resilience of Cipaku's displaced communities through narrative communication, shedding light on the unique sociolinguistic dynamics of development-induced displacement. Anchored in the Communication Theory of Resilience (CTR), it delves into how displaced individuals employ communicative processes. The study focused on interviews with 12 individuals selected using snowball sampling technique from Cipaku Village who have lived through displacement more than 10 years due to forced migration, and supported with field observation to gain documentation in capturing their memories and subsequent positive adaptations. Data was analyzed using the NVivo 12 Plus software, which facilitated the organization, coding, and thematic analysis relevant to the study's objectives. The findings of this research delves into how displaced individuals employ communicative processes; crafting normalcy, affirming identity, maintaining networks, employing alternative logics, and foregrounding positive actions to navigate the upheavals of displacement. It highlights how displaced populations actively reconstruct their social realities, preserve cultural identities, and sustain community cohesion through narrative communication. This study also points to gaps in understanding the erosion of linguistic diversity within displaced communities and recommends further exploration of digital communication's role in sustaining displaced communities' communicative networks.

Urban farming is essential as an effort to overcome land limitations and weak productivity in the food supply. Urban farming from a communication perspective is an empowerment effort that directly involves the community in its implementation. This study aims to analyze the participatory communication of women farmers and analyze factors that affect the application. This study was conducted in Bogor City and Bogor Regency. This study is explanatory survey research with a quantitative approach and supported by qualitative data. The data obtained is by cluster sampling with urban, semi-urban, and rural clusters on 231 respondents. Data were analyzed using the score, Difference Test, and Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results show that the participatory communication level in the urban farming program is medium, referring to the dialogue atmosphere, dialogue participation, and convergence level. The factors that significantly influence participatory communication are characteristics, champion competence, the exposure of media communication, and institutional support. Urban farming dari perspektif Komunikasi merupakan upaya pemberdayaan yang melibatkan secara langsung masyarakat dalam pelaksanaannya. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis komunikasi partisipatif wanita tani dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap komunikasi partisipatif dalam pelaksanaan program urban farming. Penelitian dilakukan di Kota Bogor dan Kabupaten Bogor. Penelitian ini bersifat survey explanatory research dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan didukung data kualitatif. Pengambilan sampel secara cluster sampling dengan klaster kelurahan yang dikelompokkan berdasarkan urban, semi urban dan rural terhadap 231 orang wanita tani. Analisa data dilakukan dengan metode skor, uji beda serta analisis structural model (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi partisipatif wanita tani dalam program urban farming berada pada kriteria sedang yang dilihat dari suasana dialog, partisipasi dialog dan tingkat konvergensi. Faktor yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap komunikasi partisipatif adalah pendidikan formal, luas lahan, kompetensi pemberdaya, terpaan media komunikasi, dan dukungan lembaga. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as diabetes and hypertension, contributed significantly to the mortality rate in Indonesia. Citizens’ unhealthy behaviors have led to an increased risk of diabetes and hypertension. This study aimed to investigate the level of public knowledge regarding diabetes and hypertension. Data were collected through a survey using questionnaires. There were 307 respondents from Medan (n=190) and Jakarta (n=118). The sample was dominated by the female (68,5%) and high school graduates (76.3%). The data revealed that 2.3 percent of the respondents suffered or are currently suffering from diabetes and 3.6 percent of the respondents suffered or are currently suffering from hypertension. The results showed that the level of public knowledge regarding diabetes (65.91%) and hypertension (58.15%) was not ideal in general. Many citizens still did not understand various aspects of diabetes and hypertension, such as the causes, consequences, treatments, and characteristics of their sufferer. This study also found that there are group differences in the level of public knowledge based on gender and geographical location.

Non-timber forest products (NTFPs) management by the forest farmers group (FFG) is not optimal. This condition is thought to be related to the low quality of empowerment of FFG. This can be influenced by the effectiveness of group leadership, extension support, and support for external environmental factors as well as group internal environmental factors. The purposes of the study were: 1) to analyze the factors that influence the quality of FFG empowerment in the management of NTFPs and 2) to formulate model for improving the quality of FFG empowerment in the management of NTFP. The study was conducted in Desember 2016 - April 2017 in East Lampung District, Lampung Province and Sleman District, DI Yogyakarta Province. Respondents were 248 members of FFG who manage NTFPs based on census. The data were analyzed by using descriptive technique and Structural Equations Model. Result of the study showed that the factors that influence the quality of empowerment are extension support as well as FFG internal environment support.Efforts to improve the quality of empowerment can be carried out with:1) a model of enhancement of extension support that empowers FFG towards filtering power, competitiveness, and partnership power and 2) a model of increasing support for conducive internal environmental factors.

Social innovation is a community empowerment activity based on the community’s social needs to encourage the improvement of capabilities and social relations, as well as better utilization of assets and resources. Social innovation based on bio cyclo farming system aims to introduce the community to environmentally friendly agricultural businesses. This study aims to 1) analyze social innovations based on bio cyclo farming, 2) measure the impact of bio cyclo farming on social, economic, and ecological aspects, including contributions to achieving the SDGs. This research was conducted using qualitative methods supported by quantitative data. The social innovation analysis method includes aspects of the fulfillment of community needs, the element of novelty as a solution to community problems, the existence of social change, and the increase in community capacity. The research location is in Majalengka Regency. The results showed that bio cyclo farming was implemented through agricultural waste and household waste into agricultural inputs, optimization of the use of vacant land, and development of a businessoriented agricultural system. The economic impact of this community empowerment program includes producing several organic products that provide additional assistance to the group. The social impact of the program can be seen in the formation of new institutions, the change in science and skills, and the increasing cohesiveness of society. The perceived environmental impact is in the form of using agricultural waste and household waste as well as optimizing the use of vacant land. Bio cyclo farming-based community empowerment also contributes to achieving the SDGs, especially waste management and food security.

The weakness of natural resources and environmental management at the household level in peri-urban communities has significantly impacted domestic waste problems. These impacts include flooding, pollution, and housing microclimates. Peri-urban communities need an appropriate development communication model to empower communities to manage household waste, primarily to address the impacts of climate change on environmental problems. Risk communication in the form of an interactive process of exchanging information and opinions among individuals, groups, and institutions is considered appropriate for managing environmental issues. This research aims to develop a development communication model for overcoming the effects of climate change, especially household waste and its impacts. This research method uses the Participatory Rural Communication Appraisal (PRCA) technique by placing researchers who live with the community during the study period to empower the community. The research location was Kebalen Village, Bekasi Regency, West Java, a peri-urban community facing the risk of flooding, pollution, and housing microclimate problems. The results showed that the participatory and convergent risk communication model changed community behaviour. There was a change in the awareness and behaviour of the community from leaving waste to external waste managers to managing waste independently, which is beneficial for social, economic, environmental, and SDGs achievement.

The Municipal Government of Bogor City issued a regulation in reducing the use of plastic bags to decrease the volume of plastic waste in Bogor City. The regulation has been implemented since December 1st, 2018. This study aims to find out the influence of socialization policy on the awareness, attitudes, and actions of Bogor City Society in reducing the use of plastic bags. This study uses the analysis method of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The result of this study demonstrates that there is a positive relationship between policy socialization towards the forming of awareness, attitudes, and actions of Bogor City society in reducing the use of plastic bags, in addition, awareness and eco-friendly attitudes also have a positive influence on the forming of actions to reduce the use of plastic bags. Therefore, for the policy to run effectively, it is necessary to increase policy socialization to increasingly heighten awareness, attitudes, and actions of the Bogor City society in reducing the use of plastic bags.

Agroforestry farmers are generally less empowered and relatively poor. This is because of their dependance on government programs. Informal leaders are one of the driving factors to improve farmers' empowerment. The power of informal leaders' influence is in line with the level of leadership in affecting the empowerment of farmers. Informal leadership will have more impacts on agroforestry farmers when it is supported by optimal forestry extension. This study aims to analyze the influence of forestry extension on the role of informal leadership to the community surrounding the national park. The research was conducted in Kuningan and Majalengka Districts, West Java Province, which was held from July to October 2017. The method used was cluster random sampling technique with cluster location of agroforestry forest farmer group in the buffer zone of Gunung Ciremai National Park area. Data were collected by households survey on 310 agroforestry farmers. The results showed that informal leadership roles were low. This is due to the low support of forestry extension are indicated by forestry extension competency, activities, methods, materials and intensity of forestry extension. Factors of forestry extension agent's competencies and extension intensity have a major influence on the role of informal leadership.

Sea sand mining activities in Banten Bay from 2003 to 2016 have triggered conflicts between local governments, companies and coastal communities. The mining of sea sand by the company is intended to meet market demand for island reclamation in Jakarta Bay, Indonesia. Conflict is created because the communication between the regional government and the coastal community has not been effective in granting mining business licenses to the company. The research aims to analyze the role of communication between conflicting parties at each stage of resource and environmental conflicts in Banten Bay. The research was conducted using qualitative methods through participatory observation, documentation studies and in-depth interviews with informants representing groups of fishermen, community leaders, NGO activists, local governments and sea sand mining companies. The results showed that in the absence of communication between parties involved in the conflict, the form of communication that is manipulative and instructive is an ineffective communication approach in managing potential conflicts. Communication between parties involved in the conflict works effectively with a dialogical communication approach because it facilitates the conflicting parties to understand each other, reach agreement and share roles. Communication determines the transformation of society into conflict groups. Open conflict is manifested in the forms of peaceful actions, joint protest actions, riots, and radical actions. The intensity and escalation of conflict are related to the communication of the parties involved in the conflict during the conflict periods.

This study aims to determine the pattern of communication in the process of developing life skills at the Darul Fallah Islamic Boarding School, Bogor Regency. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. The results showed that the curriculum used was an integrated curriculum, namely a combination of religious material, general material, and life skills consisting of: personal skills, social skills, academic skills, and vocational skills. Personal skill development is carried out through public lectures, muhadhoroh, pencak silat, and sports. Social skill development is carried out through HISDAF which is an organization of students, muhadatsah and scouts. Academic skill development is carried out through learning the Qur’an, Hadith and the Salaf book (Yellow book). Vocational skill development is carried out through an integrated agricultural program. Linear communication patterns are actualized in general lectures and muhadhoroh (discourse) activities. Interactional communication patterns are carried out in muhadatsah (conversation) activities, learning the Qur’an, Hadith and the Salaf books. While transactional communication patterns are carried out in scouting activities, HISDAF student organizations, and agricultural education. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum yang digunakan adalah kurikulum terpadu, yaitu gabungan materi keagamaan, materi umum, serta keterampilan (life skill) yang terdiri atas: personal skill, social skill, academic skill, dan vocational skill. Pengembangan personal skill dilakukan melalui ceramah umum, muhadhoroh, pencak silat, dan olahraga. Pengembangan social skill dilakukan melalui HISDAF yang merupakan organisasi santri, muhadatsah dan pramuka. Pengembangan academic skill dilakukan melalui pembelajaran al-Qur’an, Hadis dan kitab salaf (kitab kuning). Pengembangan vocational skill dilakukan melalui program pertanian yang terpadu. Pola komunikasi linier diaktualisasikan dalam kegiatan ceramah umum serta muhadhoroh. Pola komunikasi interaksional dilakukan dalam kegiatan muhadatsah, pembelajaran al-Qur’an, Hadis dan kitab salaf. Adapun pola komunikasi transaksional dilakukan dalam kegiatan pramuka, organisasi santri HISDAF, dan pendidikan pertanian. The income of smallholder coffee farmers can be increased by optimizing the added value of the product through increased entrepreneurial capacity. Coffee farmers need to adopt innovations and new approaches that are more sustainable with organic farming systems. The purposes of this study are; (1) identifying differences in characteristics, support of government extension services, private extension agents, and environmental support for smallholder coffee farmers and (2) analyzing the effect of characteristics, government extension services, private extension agents, and environmental support on the entrepreneurial capacity of smallholder coffee farmers. This study was carried out at Arabica Coffee Center in Bondowoso Regency and Robusta Coffee Center in Malang Regency, East Java from August to October 2019. Data were collected through interviews with questionnaires in a total of 376 smallholder coffee farmers. Data were analyzed using descriptive (SPSS) and inferential statistics (structural equation model/SEM analysis using Smart PLS). The results of research showed that non formal education and roles of private extension agents were found to be low. Moreover, motivation, government extension support, environmental support, and entrepreneurial capacity of smallholder coffee farmers were categorized as moderate. Factors significantly influenced entrepreneurial capacity of coffee farmers included: characteristics of farmers, government extension support, roles of private extension agents, and environmental support. The role of government to strengthen private extension agents is possible through partnership between coffee farmers, government and exporter or private sectors.

This research aimed to explore the cultural wisdom which encouraged the spirit to empower the community and to reveal code-mixing utilization in the conversation. This research was conducted in progressive farming communities in West Java and Banten provinces. They communicated through an ODF (Online Discussion Forum) bridged by WhatsApp Group (WAG) social networking app. Content Analysis method could reveal the wisdom of the Sundanese culture that underlined the spirit of the progressive farmers. The observation period was from August 25 - November 26, 2016. During the observation period, there were 10.313 statements emerged in the discussion. Nvivo 8 software was used to analyze discussion themes. 20 statements were displayed in the results section as they could reflect the research questions. In code-mixing Indonesian and Sundanese, the progressive farmers also expressed their efforts to nurture young farmers by conducting training. The result shows that code-mixing of Indonesian and local language as mother tongue in the discussions accelerates mutual understanding because of cultural similarity between actors. It also implies that communication technology could be utilized for maintaining indigenous cultural wisdom.

Uncontrolled cattle slaughtering may result in reduce water quantity and quality, number of cattle, and product of animal origin that does not fit the criteria of safety-healthy-whole-halal. The research objective was to analyze and measure important variables which might be required in developing a modelas well as to formulate strategic plans for managing sustainable abattoir services. Analysis methods used in this study were: Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) or rap-slaughterhouse, Monte Carlo Analysis, and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Results of the analysis showed that the important variables were, i.e.: water availability and animal health status (ecological dimension); willingness to conduct hygienic and sanitation procedures at business scale level, service business orientation, availability of animal and slaughtering schedule management (economical dimension); workers safety and security (sociological dimension), noncompliance of the use of infrastructure by managers, workers and service users; lack off ulfillment of the requirements of the building frame (dimension regulations); and processing technology (technological dimension). The priority strategic analysis concluded that supply services of product of animal origin is eligible to be considered as components required in the food security program through the development and renovation program of effective slaughter houses. ABSTRAK Pemotongan hewan yang tidak terkendali mengakibatkan penurunan ketersediaan jumlah dan mutu air, hewan, dan pangan asal ternak yang tidak sesuai kriteria aman-sehat-utuh-halal (ASUH). Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis dan mengukur peubah-peubah penting yang diperlukan untuk menyusun model dan merancang rencana strategik pengelolaan usaha jasa rumah pemotongan hewan ruminansia secara berkelanjutan. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) atau rap-slaughterhouse, Monte Carlo, dan Analytical Hierarchy Process. Hasil analisis mendapatkan beberapa faktor-faktor penting, yaitu ketersediaan air bersih dan status kesehatan hewan untuk dimensi ekologi; kesediaan melaksanakan perlakuan yang higienis dan sanitasi pada tingkatan skala usaha; orientasi usaha jasa; ketersediaan hewan; pengaturan jadwal waktu pemotongan untuk dimensi ekonomi; keselamatan dan keamanan pekerja (dimensi sosial); ketidaktaatan penggunaan sarana dan prasarana oleh pengelola, pekerja dan pengguna jasa; kurang dipenuhinya persyaratan rangka bangunan (dimensi peraturan); dan teknologi pengolahan (dimensi teknologi). Strategi prioritas yang dihasilkan adalah pelayanan penyediaan pangan asal ternak layak untuk dijadikan komponen yang wajib dalam program ketahanan pangan melalui program pembangunan dan renovasi rumah pemotongan hewan ruminansia yang efektif.

The study assessed the role of agricultural counselling centres in the development of black rice programme in Central Java, Indonesia. Black rice is a food source that has health benefits. Purplish black colour comes from anthocyanin which contains high antioxidants, used as an alternative healthy food to prevent degenerative diseases such as heart attacks and diabetes. The purpose of the study was to analyse the convergence communication and communication networks of actors who are involved in the development of black rice programme. Phenomenology and qualitative approaches are used to find out how the actors interact in the development of black rice programme. This study took data from in-depth interviews with 32 informants, 19 FGD informants, observation processes and analysed using UCINET 6. The results show that communication networks are formed in personal , the highest degree of centrality value was used to see the interaction between actors with the link in the meeting of information needs (0.287). The actors who have the highest centrality value, the Agricultural Counselling Centre (BPP) indicates that BPP has the ability to be a communication bridge in the communication networks to increase the participation of actors in the development of black rice programme in order to run sustainable

Conflict handling in Papua so far is more often done with the repressive approach. The impact of conflict level is not decreasing, even international rejection is increasing. For that reason, a more humanistic approach is needed, including through empowerment. The purpose of this research is to study the community empowerment model in conflict-prone areas as an effort to realize the food security and the strategy of model replication in another area. The research method is done by action research, and SWOT analysis to formulate the strategy of model replication. The empowerment model conducted in several ways. First, gradually improve farming skills more productive-with the introduction of simple agricultural technology brings the change of community behavior from nomadic to the subsystem. Second, farming in order to provide for basic needs and also daily, weekly, monthly income as well as savings for families. Third, business development efforts by partnerships, with the government, companies, and religious institutions. The nodes of empowerment activities are conducted through the Agribusiness Training Center (ATC) that facilitates all empowerment activities. There are several things to consider in the replication model of empowerment: identification of program targets, needs assessment, institutional initiation, technology selection, assistance to the program, and partnerships with various stakeholders.

The objective of this reseach were to: (1) analyze the level of autonomous of mikro and small entreprise (SMEs) entrepreneurs are empowered through Coorporate Social Responsibility (CSR); (2) analyze the dominant factors that influence autonomous of MSEs entrepreneurs are empowered through CSR; and (3) formulate an appropriate a strategy in developing autonomy of MSEs entrepreneurs through CSR. The reseach was conduct in the village built two companies running CSR in Bogor district involved 212 (SMEs) entrepreneurs which determined from population (450 SMEs entrepreneurs) by Solvin formula with level of error 5 % and drawn by cluster random sampling. Data collection was conducted from July to November 2013, and consisted the primary and secondary data. Data analysis was simulated by using structural equation model (SEM ). The results showed that the degree of autonomous MSEs entrepreneurs is low, its core was 36.89 out of 100.00. There are three strategies that must be done to develop of autonomous MSEs entrepreneurs through CSR, such as; (a) an increase the empowerment sustainable of MSEs entrepereneurs (b) improve the quality of the environment supporting MSEs and (c) an increase in intensity of empowerment for MSEs entrepreneurs.

Agricultural development has not yet created empowered farmers in Indonesia. Most farmers living in eastern Indonesia are peasants with low access to development resources. This condition causes most of the peasants to be classified as poor citizens. This research was meant to formulate improvement strategies for empowerment of the peasants. The data were collected between March – May 2012 using the following methods: observation, interview and focus group discussion. The data was analysed using descriptive statistic and structural equation modelling (SEM) and showed that: (1) the empowerment of peasants was within the lowest category for all variables, namely: the peasant characteristics, the role of the agents for development, program quality, the learning process and access to environmental support, (2) the determining factors affecting the empowerment of the peasants were: program implementation quality, the role of the agents of development, environmental access and support, the peasant characteristics, and the appropriateness of the learning process and (3) the strategy to improve empowerment of the peasants could be through corrective efforts towards program implementation quality, the role of facilitators, environmental access and support while considering the peasant characteristics and the learning process of the peasants.

This research aims: 1) to analyze typology characteristic and conflict mapping in oil palm plantations; 2) to analyze the effectiveness of conflict resolution processes that have taken; 3) to formulate a conflict resolution strategy that is appropriate to the conflict type through collaborative approach base on potential resource and local knowledge. Primary data collected by interviews with local government officials, key figures, and village leaders. Secondary data obtained from village offices, BPS, texbooks, journals, or data from the internet that contains research results related. Data collection techniques used are a combination of the method of triangulation to obtain accurate data. The data collected and processed in a descriptive analysis of quantitative data supporting. Conflict analysis method used in this study is an analysis of the mission and vision conflict phenomena, analyzes aspects of change, stakeholders analysis, perception analysis, analysis of issues, interests analysis, strategy analysis, analysis of engagement, analysis of potential allies, risk analysis, action analysis, and valuation analysis. The results of this study indicate that the conflict in the Sosa, North Sumatera, has come to the level of "tension" or "crisis". Base on study, there are three main issues that people felt in the area around oil palm plantations, covering: issues of land, inadequate farming, the number of unemployment, as well as the limitations of basic facilities in some villages. Third problem is not handled correctly when very likely to trigger conflict, both between citizens and the business community as well as between fellow citizens of the community.

Malacca District is one of Indonesian border area with East Timor. This region is also become the home for largest number of refugees in East Timor after the poll.The existence of the East Timorese former warrior who lived in the ressetlement area built by the EU and UNHCR in Kanamasa village, Central Malaka subdistrict-Malacca District, need special attention amid uncertainty life after their struggle. The Central Malacca subdistrict classified as number one priority areas of food insecurity in East Nusa Tenggara according FSVA. The development of agriculture is alternative solutions in an effort to strengthen the refugees household food security. The purpose ofthis study wasto analyzethe condition of the availability of food, the factors causing food problems, and designing a model of community empowerment efforts to increase food security in the inter-state border. The results showed the condition of the people of East Timorex-fighters in a state of food insecurity that characterized the energy consumption below the cutting point for the adequacy of the energy consumption of 2.160Cal/cap/dayis equal to1209.08Cal/cap/day. Food problems that arise due to the lack of diversification factor, high food prices, and food cultureareless supportive of the adequacy of nutrient intake in the family. Agricultural development program is an effort to address the problem of food insecurity, with a capital in the community experience in agriculture. Programs that can be developed are: 1) institutional strengthening through the establishment of farmers' groups; 2) human resource development through training of crops and horticulture nursery; 3) optmize of yards land use; 4) initiation of land cultivation procurement; 5) agriculture activities in demonstration plots land.

Vegetable ferns (Diplazium esculentum (Retz) Sw) which grows in the forest directly utilized by community and often does not take into account the survival. Utilization of vegetables ferns should be in line with its preservation is to do conservation actions that are based on sustainable development in line with the Regulation of Law No. 5 In 1990 , concerning the conservation of natural resources. To support the law, community’s attitudes must be constituted in accordance with the concept of "tri-stimulus amar proconservation" which consists of the natural, benefits, and willingly stimulus. This research aims to determine how the community’s attitude toward conservation of vegetable fern. Data taken from survey results with a questionnaire of attitudes processed with aid MSI (Methods of Successive Interval) to see percentage numbers of community’s attitude. Based on the results of survey on 25 respondents, community’s attitudes indicate a positive attitude supporting the conservation vegetables fern but not entirely impact on the willingly stimulus. Community had no willingness to plant vegetable ferns because of the availability are abundant, does not have the land to grow and the lack of skills on how to plant vegetables ferns.

Pengelolaan hutan, termasuk pengelolan hutan oleh masyarakat menghadapi tantangan dalam mewujudkan pengelolaan hutan secara berkelanjutan (lestari). Keberhasilan petani dalam pengelolaan Hutan Rakyat di Kabupaten Gunung Kidul dan Wonogiri sampai memperoleh Sertifikat Ekolabel membuktikan bahwa masyarakat dapat mengelola hutan secara lestari. Keberhasilan tersebut merupakan hasil dari suatu proses belajar. Bagaimana pembelajaran masyarakat dan faktor penentu keberhasilan proses belajar petani tersebut merupakan pertanyaan penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dengan 200 responden petani Hutan Rakyat sertifikasi di Kabupaten Gunung Kidul dan Wonogiri, serta 60 responden petani Hutan Rakyat yang belum disertifikasi, sebagai perbandingan. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2009 sampai dengan Februari 2010. Analisa data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial, Structural Equations Model (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Intensitas belajar petani pengelola Hutan Rakyat sertifikasi rendah, disebabkan oleh faktor kelembagaan pendukung pembelajaran, kelembagaan internal masyarakat, kompetensi penyuluh, dan karakteristik individu petani; (2) kelembagaan pendukung pembelajaran dan kelembagaan internal masyarakat memiliki peran penting dalam pembelajaran petani; (3) intensitas belajar petani dapat ditingkatkan dengan meningkatkan kolaborasi kelembagaan pendukung pembelajaran petani dan peningkatan kompetensi penyuluh.

Petani sekitar hutan kemiri di Kabupaten Maros telah berpartisipasi dalam menanam,mengelola dan memanfaatkan hutan tersebut sejak tahun 1826. Keberadaan hutan kemiri saat ini merupakan bukti keberhasilan partisipasi petani. Namun demikian, pada saat ini hutan kemiri sedang mengalami penurunan kualitas. Kondisi ini berdampak buruk bagi lingkungan sekitarnya. Fenomena ini diduga karena tingkat partisipasi petani menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan model efektif dalam upaya meningkatkan partisipasi petani dalam pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan hutan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada Januari sampai Maret 2010, dengan menggunakan metode: kuesioner, wawancara dan observasi, serta dokumen dari instansi terkait. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial berdasarkan SEM menggunakan piranti lunak LISREL 8.70. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah: tingkat partisipasi petani tergolong rendah. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi partisipasi petani adalah motivasi dan kemampuan petani. Hasil penelitian mengusulkan model efektif peningkatan partisipasi petani dengan meningkakan empat aspek yaitu: (1) intensitas peran penyuluh kehutanan, (2) kemampuan petani, (2) motivasi petani, (3) ketersediaan peluang untuk berpartisipasi.

The adsorptive stripping voltammetric determination of Ni and Co based on adsorption of the Ni/Co and dimethylglioxime (DMG) complex on a hanging mercury drop electrode is studied. The reduction current of the adsorbed DMG complex is measured by square wave cathodic stripping voltammetry method. The effect of various parameters such as ligand concentration, pH of supporting electrolytic, adsorption potential and adsorption time on the current peak of Ni and Co voltammogram were studied. Optimum condition of this method are supporting electrolyte pH 9, DMG concentration 5×10 -4 M, adsorption potential -0.7 V vs Ag/AgCl and adsorption time 180 second. A linier relationship between the current peak and Ni or Co concentration was obtained in the range 5 - 30 ng/mL and the detection limit 0.6 ng/ml for both Ni and Co. The recovery of Ni and Co were 98.11-104.17% using standard biological materials with RSD 2.59 - 10.37%. As a company engaged in the industrial sector by producing certain components and localized in an industrial area, there will be an impact on the environment. These impacts can be positive in the form of employment, reducing dependence on imported heavy equipment, increase in foreign exchange due to reduced imports and increased exports, increased government revenue from taxes, public facilities improvement and supporting infrastructure, and opening up opportunities for other related industries. These impacts can also be negative in the form of environmental degradation such as noise disturbance, dust, and micro climate change, and changes in social and cultural conditions surrounding the industry. Data analysis was performed descriptively and with the Structural Equation Model (SEM). SEM is a multivariate statistical technique which is a combination of factor analysis and regression analysis (correlation), which aims to test the connections between existing variables in a model, whether it is between the indicator with the construct, or the connections between constructs. SEM model consists of two parts, which is the latent variable model and the observed variable model. In contrast to ordinary regression linking the causality between the observed variables, it is also possible in SEM to identify the causality between latent variables. The results of SEM analysis showed that the developed model has a fairly high level of validity that is shown by the minimum fit chi-square value of 93.15 (P = 0.00029). Based on said model, it shows that the company's performance in waste management is largely determined by employee integrity and objectivity of the new employees followed later by the independence of the employees in waste management. The most important factor that determines the employee integrity in waste management in the model is honesty, individual wisdom, and a sense of responsibility. The most important factor in the employee objectivity in waste management is the support of accurate data in each report of waste management by the company and transparency on reports of the company’s activity. While the factors that determine the employee independency is the company's interests, a sense of employee volunteering, and openness between the company and employees. This research was conducted to support increasing effectiveness and efficiency of corporate management, by determining alternative forms of managing the heavy industrial equipment components environment (PLIKAB)-based on participation and society partnerships. The determination of alternative uses analytical hierarchy process (AHP) with the help of the Criterium Decision Plus v3.04 software. These results indicate that according of experts, the environmental management of industrial waste heavy equipment components must consider the technological aspects of its management. This can be seen from the weighting of each element that indicates the technology element has the greatest weight, which is 0.456. Besides that, elements of human resources is also quite important (weight 0.289) as the manager and the supporting policies (0.140) as a boost to management regulations. Aspect Capital (0.075) and marketing (0.042) is currently not perceived as barriers. While the most influential actor in the management is the company (0.451), other stakeholders have enough role is the community (0.234). Jababeka (0.211) and cooperative business (0.104) has a smaller role in the management. The purpose element in relative management has a weight that is relatively balanced with elements of revenue (0.336) is the primary consideration in determining management strategies, although it should not ignore the aim of maintaining environmental quality (0.299), the purpose of minimizing conflict (0.194), and the purpose of increasing competitiveness (0.170). The best alternative for the management of industrial waste components of the heavy equipment is to form managers based on partnerships by different stock ownership (0.791). It is considered much better than by forming managers based on partnerships by the same stock (0.209). This study’s emphasis was on Dayak Merap and Punan people’s perception of the importance of forest. A participatory approach using scoring exercises was completed with seven forest dwelling communities in the tropical landscape of Malinau, East Kalimantan. The findings suggest that un-logged forest was the most important land category for Dayak people. It provides for their livelihoods and well-being both directly and indirectly. ‘Forest’ has the heritage values and contains an abundance of valued and significant plants and animal. For the future, ‘forest’ is predicted to remain important for local people mainly for timber. Forests are exceptional in comparison with other land types in providing a wide range of highly valued goods and services, in most cases to a greater degree than other land types. In addition, the value of forest decreases less with apparent distances. However, logged forest is related as much less important, allowing us to consider improvements in forest management that might better protect local values. Internet is well known nowadays, however higher distance education students who live in remote rural areas still have not been able to take advantages of this medium optimally for their learning process. For accessing the internet the students have to be available with the minimum prerequisites: the existence of adequate devices and the sufficient capabilities. For education purposes, the students use the internet to meet their information and fulfill learning needs, facilitate interpersonal communications, and provide groups of discussion, as well as to be connected with friends in social media. This study aims to analyze the relationship between internet access and usage in improving students' self-directed learning which is using structural equation model method. The survey is conducted in seven districts in Surakarta Regional Office of Indonesia Open University with a sample size of 320 respondents. The result shows that the internet usage is still low due to limited internet facilities that affect the knowledge and willingness of students to access the internet. The strategy in improving student internet usage is applying social media as guidance that can be accessed through cellular phones.

Purpose: This research aims to develop and test a model of digital health communication media (DHCM) use for healthy food information -- DHCM usage -- during the COVID-19 pandemic. More specifically, this research investigated the simultaneous effects of perceived threat of COVID-19, e-health literacy, attitude toward DHCM usage, knowledge toward DHCM usage, facilitating conditions and information quality on the DHCM usage. Design/methodology/approach: The empirical data were collected through a survey. The respondents of the survey are 192 DHCM users who lived in Tangerang Regency. Structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis was performed. Findings: The DHCM usage during the COVID-19 pandemic is significantly affected by the attitude towards the DHCM usage and the facilitating conditions. However, the DHCM usage during the COVID-19 pandemic is not significantly affected by the perceived threat of COVID-19, e-health literacy, information quality and knowledge of the DHCM usage. Research limitations/implications: This research was conducted only in Tangerang Regency and employed a purposive sampling technique. Future research should be conducted in other contexts to examine the stability of the research findings. Practical implications: In order to improve DHCM usage for healthy food information, it is important for building a positive attitude towards DHCM usage and ensuring the availability of the facilitating conditions. Originality/value: This paper is the first that develops and tests a model of DHCM usage for healthy food information during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The present work aimed to analyse millennial knowledge on the concept of halal food, the information and themes related to halal food needs, the importance of halal food for millennials, and the role of opinion leaders in disseminating halal food information in virtual communities. Virtual ethnographic methods were employed to explore the interactions in virtual environments. It was found that millennials’ knowledge on halal food was highly diverse. Specifically, their understanding was divided into two groups: the first group believed that halal food was defined by its raw materials or ingredients, while the second group considered that halal food was not only associated with Sharia-verified materials or ingredients, but also included all processes from production to consumption. The halal food information that millennials sought included new and viral food products, food ingredient information, halal-certified products, and critical points of halal food. The present work also identified the presence of opinion leaders in sharing halal food information, since they affected the flow of information by organising, filtering, and evaluating halal food information for millennials in virtual communities.
