It was experimentally established that the use of water-soluble extracts of extruded cereals in nutrient medium causes an increase in concentration of microorganisms. When growing Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis bacteria on nutrient medium, containing water-soluble extracts of extruded cereals, an increase in their biomass was revealed. Preferred conditions for extraction of water-soluble fraction from an aqueous solution containing extruded plant material were determined: processing time 72 hours, temperature +5°C. The greatest increase in bacterial biomass was found in growth medium prepared from extruded barley. Yield of Escherichia coli microorganisms increased by 1.5 times, and Bacillus subtilis - by 2.97 times compared to the control sample. A process flow diagram of growth medium, based on extruded plant raw materials has been developed. It can potentially be used for cultivating microorganisms, which can be used as raw materials for environmentally safe food. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
