Carcass and meat production of local male ducks can be used as indicators to assess carcass quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of carcasses, meat production and offal of male local ducks in traditional markets on the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa based on the Indonesian National Standard. The research material used 64 male local ducks aged 55-60 days with details of 36 coming from chicken slaughterhouses in Mataram City, 12 ducks from chicken slaughterhouses in West Lombok Regency, and 16 ducks from chicken slaughterhouses in Sumbawa Regency. Sampling of local male ducks from each sub-district was by using random sampling. The research data consisted of live weight, carcass weight, meat weight, carcass percentage, and offal percentage were analyzed using the Microsoft Excel program and SPSS version 16 software program regression correlation analysis. Data analysis showed that local male ducks slaughtered in traditional markets on the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa produced duck carcasses belonging to quality I as much as 51.16 ± 10.68% of the total sample, quality II as much as 37.71 ± 15.28% and quality III of 17.13 ± 6.85%. Pure local male duck meat products circulating in traditional markets on the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa are 43.96% and 44.82% respectively. Conclusion: Carcass quality and meat production of local male ducks in the traditional markets of the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa have met the Indonesian National Standard, namely live weight of 1,290 g, carcass percentage of 60.33%, and pure meat production of 44.25%.

Tingkat pengetahuan yang terbatas tentang pengolahan limbah serta ketidakmampuan dalam pengadaan IPAL menjadi permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh industri tahu tempe Sari Murni. Limbah yang dihasilkan selama ini langsung dibuang ke sungai Brangbiji tanpa melalui pengolahan terlebih dahulu. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah mendampingi industri Sari Murni dalam meminimalisasi limbah yang dihasilkan melalui pengolahan imbah cair menjadi pupuk cair dan limbah ampas tahu menjadi pakan ternak. kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui penyuluhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu (1) adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam pengolahan limbah industri, (2) mitra terampil dalam mengolah limbah menjadi pupuk cair dan pakan ternak, (3) mitra terampil dalam pengemasan produk dan (4) adanya 150 produk hasil olahan limbah. Kegiatan ini telah memberikan tambahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menangani limbah sehingga berdampak pada penurunan jumlah limbah yang terbuang ke lingkungan dan praktek baik ini menjadi contoh bagi industri tahu tempe lainnya.

Livestock is a sector that has a huge opportunity to be developed as a business in the future. According to BPS data in 2014 there were 4.104 heads of cattle and in 2016 decreased with a total of slaughtering as many as 3,461 heads of cattle. From this data it can be seen that the number of cattle slaughtering in Sumbawa Regency can be said to be quite low for the needs of beef in Sumbawa Regency. In Sumbawa especially, the problem of beef lies in relatively expensive price. This study aims to determine the supply chain of beef from slaughterhouse to end consumers by using data collection methods, and determining respondents (snowball sampling technique and purposive sampling technique). The result of this study is the marketing efficiency of beef shows that the efficiency of marketing of 0 (zero) level of beef seller-consumer is 0% smaller compared to the level marketing efficiency of level 1 (one) of meat retailers-consumers of 0.87 %. Value added at the level of beef seller (butcher) shows that the conversion factor value is 1.30 where the conversion factor is obtained by dividing the output value with the input value for every 1 medium-sized cattle.

Pengabdian masyarakat tentang pengolahan limbah kandang menjadi pupuk organik yang telah dilaksanakan di Desa Teruwai Kecamatan Pujut Kabupaten Lombok Tengah bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat menggunakan teknologi sederhana. Kegiatan pelatihan ini telah dilaksanakan dari bulan Agustus sampai bulan Oktober 2021 dengan lama proses pembuatan selama 1 bulan untuk proses dekomposisi sampai pupuk dinyatakan matang atau jadi. Tahapan pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik ini telah dilaksanakan melalui dua tahap yaitu; tahap pertama adalah pemberian materi pelatihan dengan ceramah dan diskusi serta pembagian brosur sehingga peserta dapat memahami langkah-langkah teknik pembuatan pupuk organik, sedangkan tahap kedua dilaksanakan dengan cara praktik langsung agar para petani peternak lebih terampil, dimulai dari penyiapan bahan, mengumpulkan bahan dan proses pembuatan. Dari hasil pelatihan ini terbukti para peternak dapat dengan mudah mengerjakan semua tahapan dengan baik dan benar serta dijadikannya sebagai salah satu tambahan penghasilan bagi kelompok selain usaha penggemukan yang dikerjakan secara rutin. Kelompok Tunas Karya telah membuat lebih kurang 2 ton sebagai bukti bahwa kelompok melanjutkan pembuatan pupuk organik dalam jumlah besar dan membuat kemasan 25 kg agar dapat dipasarkan kepada masyarakat khususnya bagi para petani dan masyarakat yang membutuhkan.

Corn straw as agricultural waste is a source of feed for ruminants which has a high fiber content and still contains good nutritional value and is sufficiently available. Unfortunately, this potency has not been fully utilized by the farmer as animal feed. This condition is found in almost all regions in NTB because we still see a lot of corn straw or corn waste in general, a lot of which is wasted even burned by the community. One of the efforts that need be made so that it can be used as a source of feed is by knowing the production of corn straw and its potential as feed for ruminants in Bolo District, Bima Regency. The research was carried out by survey method by using a questionnaire. The research results showed that the area of ​​maize plants in Bolo District was 4,041.88 hectares with a harvest area of ​​3,024.76 hectares. The production of corn waste consisting of stalks, leaves, husks, cobs and silk was 3,629.66 tons in dry matter. The population of ruminants (cattle, buffalo, goats and sheep) is 10,008 heads with the largest livestock population is the cattle. From the calculation between the amount of corn waste production and the ruminant livestock population in Bolo District, Bima Regency, it can be concluded that corn waste has a high potential as feed, which is 19 percent.

Low feed efficiency is often an obstacle in duck farming. Thus, the duck feed in the form of noodles (duck mie) is innovated which resembles earthworms which is the natural food for ducks in their natural habitat (rice fields and swamp areas). The aim of this study was to determine the extent to which the provision of duck mie in the ration affects the productivity of Peking ducks. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) method with 4 treatments and replicated four times each, the research material in the form of 80 DOD peking ducks with treatment aged 1-7 days given 100% basal formulated feed. Age 8-14 days adapted to 95% basal formulated feed + 5% Duck Mie. Age 15 – 56 days of basal formulated feeding according to treatment T0 = 100% basal formulated feed, T1 = 90% basal formulated feed + 10% Duck Mie, T2 = 80% basal formulated feed + 20% Duck Mie, and T3 = 70% basal formulated feed + 30 % Duck Mie. The research results were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), then tested using Duncan's Distance Test. The research parameters were feed consumption, daily body weight gain (DBWG), feed efficiency, feed conversion and IOFC (Income Over Feed Cost). Based on the research conducted, it was found that giving Duck Mie in the ration did not have an effect (P0.01).

The main ingredients for making duck mie are cheap and potential local ingredients, such as; golden snail, rice bran, corn flour and cassava flour. Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat merupakan salah satu wilayah potensial pengembangan agribisnis ternak sapi di Indonesia karena didukung dengan ketersediaan sumberdaya lahan dan adanya taman teknologi pertanian sebagai pusat pengembangan agribisnis ternak sapi dan jagung. Keberhasilan pengembangan agribinsi ternak sapi ini sangat tergantung pada pemilihan dan penerapan strategi yang sesuai dengan karakteristik wilayah. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan yaitu untuk menentukan wilayah basis pengembangan dan merumuskan strategi pengembangan agribisnis ternak sapi di Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Data pada penelitian ini terdiri atas data primer dan data skunder. Data primer bersumber dari hasil wawancara terhadap 40 responden yang dipilih secara purposive sampling sedangkan data skunder bersumber dari Dinas terkait seperti BPS Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat, Dinas Pertanian, perkebunan dan peternakan Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat dan lainnya. Data yang berhasil dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan analisis LQ dan Analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wilayah pengembangan agribisnis ternak sapi di Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat dapat dilakukan di 6 kecamatan yang meliputi Kecamatan Sekongkang, Maluk, Jereweh, Seteluk dan Poto Tano. Strategi pengembangan agribisnis yang perlu diterapkan yaitu strategi strength-opportunity (SO) yang meliputi strategi Peningkatan populasi dan produktivitas ternak sapi dengan memanfaatkan teknologi reproduksi, dan taman teknologi pertanian, meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan SDM peternak melalui pelatihan manajemn usaha dan pemanfaatan teknologi peternakan, integrasi sistem agribisnis ternak sapi dari hulu ke hilir, optimalisasi peran dan dukungan pemerintah dan swasta dalam mengembangkan usaha agribisnis ternak sapi. Feed is still a major problem in the development of the livestock sub-sector. So far, farmers are still relying on animal feed needs from natural grass which causes low livestock productivity and limited livestock rearing capacity. To overcome these problems, the purpose of this community service activity is to provide training and assistance to female breeders to make complete feed and implement the use of complete feed for livestock. This training activity was carried out in Wanasaba Lauk Village, East Lombok Regency. Participants in the training activity were 15 female breeders under the Ridho Ilahi Center for Animal Husbandry. The method used in this study is the delivery of materials and the practice of making complete feeds. The training activity was carried out for 2 days and assistance for the application of complete feed technology was carried out for 3 months. The result of this training is that female farmers gain knowledge and skills in producing complete feed and in terms of capacity calculations, breeders are able to maintain a minimum of 5 heads of livestock which previously was only a maximum of 2 heads. Then in terms of productivity, average daily gain (ADG) of livestock reached 0.42 Kg/day.

To evaluate the bacteriological contamination of groundwater wells due to onsite sanitation in Jempol coast, a survey was conducted in order to measure the concentration of E. coli, and fecal coliform indicators, as well as the presence of viruses, generally infect the human. Groundwater specimens were collected from twenty-five wells in Jempol coast and were analyzed for the presence of E. coli and fecal coliform. Dominantly, bacteriological analysis results were in accordance with the Indonesian standards based on Permenkes RI no no 416/MENKES/PER/XI/1990 Occasionally, bacteriological contaminations were found in all sites. E. coli were found in all samples, respectively. Twenty-one samples (84%) were positive contaminated by Escherichia coli, and nineteen samples (76%) were positive contaminated by Faecal coliform. The overall data showed that groundwater well is impacted by human viruses. Both bacterial as indicators of pollution that have high predictive capability for the presence of other human viruses in a groundwater well. The distance of onsite sanitation analysed was closely related to the presence of the bacterial indicator and viruses. Appropriate and effective actions must be taken to improve water quality and reduce public health risk.
