Abstract

Dynamics of thermal radiation and the Lorentz force on the free convective flow of hybrid nanofluid (H2O + Fe3O4 + MWCNT) flow by a solid sphere with chemical reaction are examined in this paper. Non-Fourier heat flux (Cattaneo-Christov heat flux) model is included in the energy equation. Matlab's built-in function, bvp4c, is used to solve governing equations after they have been transformed into ordinary differential equations. Graphs are used to display results (such as changes in the temperature profile caused by thermal radiation). Major findings are, as the volume fraction of nanoparticles increases, the shear stress decreases by 0.16509, while the shear stress increases by 4.593595 with respect to magnetic field. It is noticed that the fluid temperature rises when thermal radiation upsurges. Temperatures drop as a function of thermal relaxation parameter, which is also observed. The data also shows that as Schmidt number rises, so does the mass transfer rate, with an increment rate of 3.356359. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Topical endeavour is made to describe and search out the flow characteristics correspond to nano flow over thin liquid film dispensed with Molybdenum disulphide (MOS2) in a Casson fluid past an unsteady exponentially stretching sheet in porous medium. Due to this problem is modelled to boost the rate of thermal transfer of Diathermic oils, particularly, Kerosene-oil (KO) and Engine-oil (EO) by considering uneven heat source/sink. The governing equations are standardized into a system of ordinary differential equations by means of similarity transformations. The elucidation of the physical problem is conquered by shooting technique. The impact of pertinent parameters on flow and heat transfer is deliberated with the aid of graphs and tables. It is shown that the rate of heat transfer enhances by adding MOS2 in engine oil than MOS2 in kerosene oil, which improves its lubrication properties. Abstract

A simple, accurate and sensitive voltammetric method for determination of donepezil (DNZ) using β-cyclodextrin modified carbon paste electrode (CDMCPE) is developed. CDMCPE exhibited significantly increased sensitivity and selectivity for DNZ compared to the bare carbon paste electrode (CPE). Effect of accumulation potential, accumulation time, pH of buffer, etc., on peak currents for the determination of DNZ was studied using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Peak currents showed a linear response in the concentration range 4.2 x 10-8 to 5.6 x10-7 M and 3.2 x 10-9 to 4.2 x 10-8 M at CPE and CDMCPE respectively. Limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were found to be 1.2 x 10-9 and 0.40 x 10-8 M. The proposed method has been successfully applied for the determination of DNZ in spiked urine samples, serum samples and pharmaceutical formulations.

19. Adsorption of Ni(II) from aqueous solution by activated carbons derived from tobacco stem.

Abstract

Activated carbons from tobacco stem were identified as the most potent Ni(II) sorbent (Q0= 97.32 mg/g). The tested plant material adsorbed Ni(II) optimally at pH 5.3. The efficiency of the adsorbent was investigated using batch adsorption technique under different experimental conditions such as solution pH, initial metal ion concentration, and agitation time. The adsorption of Ni(II) followed pseudo-second-order kinetics. Adsorption isotherms were expressed by Langmuir and Freundlich models. Langmuir adsorption model fits the experimental data reasonably well than Freundlich model for the present study. The thermodynamic parameters such as standard Gibb’s free energy change (ΔG°), standard enthalpy change (ΔH°), and standard entropy change (ΔS°) were evaluated. The thermodynamics of Ni(II) on activated carbons from tobacco stem indicates its spontaneous and endothermic nature. The results obtained show that activated carbons from tobacco stem, which has a very low economic value, may be used for the effective treatment of aqueous solutions contaminated with Ni(II). Abstract

The effectiveness of additional data in delineating the ore bodies is analysed and the sample spacing needed to achieve a desired precision of estimation is discussed. Errors of estimation increase in depth as the surface holes diverge. For this reason the footwall lenses show higher estimation errors.
