14. Brain tumour image generation based on the deep convolutional generative adversarial network.

Abstract

The generation for brain tumour is a challenging task, which attracts much attention in recent years. This study builds a Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Network (DCGAN) using TensorFlow to generate new images. The code imports TensorFlow, layers, loss functions, and libraries such as matplotlib, numpy, PIL (Python Imaging Library), and time. The dataset contains images of 28×28 pixels, which are resized and normalized to be between 0 and 1. The Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) model consists of a generator network and a discriminator network, where the generator produces new images, and the discriminator distinguishes between the generated and real images. The generator network is made up of sequential layers, including dense, batch normalization, leaky ReLU, and convolutional transpose layers. The discriminator network has convolutional and dense layers. The study creates a random normal distribution and generates new images from it. The training loop includes discriminator and generator loss functions, where the discriminator loss function is the binary cross-entropy between the true and fake outputs, and the generator loss function is binary cross-entropy between the generated and true outputs. Finally, the study trains the model for a set number of epochs to generate new images. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

In most instances, the information held by members of the supply chain is asymmetric and many retailers prefer pursuing risk. This paper uses revenue sharing contract to coordinate the two-stage supply chain consisting of a risk preferredretailer and a risk neutral manufacturer, which takes into account the shortage cost and residual value. In the case of information symmetry and information asymmetry, this paper establishes the two-stage supply chain of a risk-preferred retailer using CVaR risk measurement. The supply chain coordination is achieved by adjusting the unit product’s profit parameters, which the manufacturers return to the retailers in the revenue sharing contract. The results show that the profit parameter is positively correlated with the risk preference of the retailer, which means that the risk preference of the retailer is high and the profit parameter is high.

25. Size and Charge Dual‐Switchable Nanoparticles for Achieving Chemosensitization and Immune Infiltration against Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma.

Abstract

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), one of the most challenging cancers, is uniquely characterized by a biological barrier composed of multiple components in the extracellular matrix, preventing penetration of chemotherapeutic agents and hindering clinical drug treatment. Collagen I arrangement is critical. In this study, gemcitabine is chosen as the chemotherapeutic agent and dasatinib as the collagen‐I‐disrupting agent. When collagen I arrangement is disrupted, not only the chemotherapeutic drug enters the tumor area better, but the infiltration of CD8+ T cells into the tumor also increases. Therefore, a hypoxia‐responsive linker‐crosslinked polymer, DGD/L@GBI, is designed, which can be simultaneously loaded with two therapeutic agents, gemcitabine and dasatinib. The polymer is encapsulated by nucleic acid aptamers that target the PDAC stromal microenvironment and shield the surface. The aptamer is removed upon arrival at the PDAC hypoxic microenvironment, exposing the positively charged core to achieve charge reversal. Particle size transformation is achieved using linkers that respond to a hypoxic microenvironment. Increased intratumoral penetration is achieved using the dual transformation capabilities of the formulation. Pairing these two agents can result in a powerful efficacy in chemotherapy sensitization and immune infiltration. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
