1. Successful and safe treatment of severe steroid depended eosinophilic asthma with mepolizumab in a woman during pregnancy

Abstract

A 26-year-old female with steroid dependent eosinophilic asthma and nasal polyps who had successfully been treated with mepolizumab for 17 consecutive months with complete steroid withdrawal and symptoms control, stopped biologic treatment due to pregnancy efforts. Mepolizumab discontinuation resulted in frequent exacerbations and daily symptoms despite high dose ICS/LABA and re-initiation of oral steroids. Mepolizumab was initiated again, followed by improvement of asthma control and gradual withdrawal of steroids within 2 months. The patient became pregnant during the fourth month of mepolizumab re-initiation. The patient presented two asthma exacerbations during pregnancy treated with short course (3 days) oral steroids and delivery was uneventful (female, Apgar 9, weight 2750 g, length 59 cm) in week 40 by caesarean section.

Abstract

The significant developments of additive manufacturing and especially 3D-printing technologies have broadened the application field of metamaterials. The present study aims at establishing the main design parameters of a novel 3D-printed polymer-based joint. The proposed joint can efficiently absorb impact energy, relieving the material components from extensive plastic deformations. The design of the machine element is inspired by the molecular structure of carbon nanotubes and appropriately adjusted in such a way that it has the ability to partially transform translational motion to rotational motion and, thus, provide axial structural protection from compressive shocks. The utilized material is a photosensitive resin that is typically utilized in 3D manufacturing processes. Experiments are utilized to characterize the mechanical performance of the raw material as well as the static compressive behavior of the joint. Finally, finite element simulations are performed to test the developed design under impact loadings characterized by different frequencies. The damping capabilities of the metamaterial-based joint are revealed and discussed.

Abstract

In the present study, the thermomechanical effects of adding a newly proposed nanoparticle within a polymer matrix such as polyethylene are being investigated. The nanoparticle is formed by a typical single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) and two equivalent giant carbon fullerenes that are attached with the nanotube edges through covalent bonds. In this way, a bone-shaped nanofiber is developed that may offer enhanced thermomechanical characteristics when used as a polymer filler, due to each unique shape and chemical nature. The investigation is based on molecular dynamics simulations of the tensile stress–strain response of polymer nanocomposites under a variety of temperatures. The thermomechanical behavior of the bone-shaped nanofiber-reinforced polyethylene is compared with that of an equivalent nanocomposite filled with ordinary capped single-walled carbon nanotubes, in order to reach some coherent fundamental conclusions. The study focuses on the evaluation of some basic, temperature-dependent properties of the nanocomposite reinforced with these innovative bone-shaped allotropes of carbon.

Abstract

Occupant behavior and business processes in a building environment constitute an inseparable set of important factors that drives energy consumption. Existing methodologies for building energy management lag behind in addressing these core parameters by focusing explicitly on the building’s structural components. Additional layers of information regarding indoor and outdoor environmental conditions and occupant behavior patterns, mostly driven by everyday business processes (schedules, loads, and specific business activities related to occupancy patterns and building operations), are necessary for the effective and efficient modeling of building energy performance in order to establish a holistic energy efficiency management framework. The aim of this paper was to develop a context-driven framework in which multiple levels of information regarding occupant behavior patterns resulting from everyday business processes were incorporated for efficient energy management in buildings. A preliminary framework evaluation was performed in a multifaceted university building involving a number of spaces, employees, business processes, and data from sensors and metering devices. The results derived by linking operational aspects and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and luminance) to occupant behavior underlying business processes and organizational structures indicated the potential energy savings: a max of 7.08% for Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), 19.46% for lighting and a maximum of 6.34% saving related to office appliances.

Abstract

Cyld encodes a 956-amino acid deubiquitinating enzyme (CYLD), which is a negative regulator of nuclear factor κB and mitogen-activated protein kinase pathways. Mutations that truncate and inactivate the carboxyl-terminal deubiquitinating domain of CYLD underlie the development of skin appendage tumors in humans, whereas down-regulation of Cyld expression has been associated with the development of various types of human malignancies including lung cancer. To establish an animal model of human CYLD inactivation and characterize the biological role of CYLD in vivo, we generated mice carrying a homozygous deletion of Cyld exon 9 (CyldΔ9/Δ9 mice) using a conditional approach. Deletion of exon 9 would cause a carboxyl-terminal truncation of CYLD and inactivation of its deubiquitinating activity. In accordance with previous studies, fibroblasts from CyldΔ9/Δ9 embryos had hyperactive nuclear factor κB and c-Jun kinase pathways compared with control fibroblasts. CyldΔ9/Δ9 newborn mice were smaller than wild-type littermates with a short and kinky tail and nomajor developmental defects. However, CyldΔ9/Δ9 mice died shortly after birth from apparent respiratory dysfunction. Histological examination of E18.5 CyldΔ9/Δ9 lungs demonstrated an immature phenotype characterized by hyperplasic mesenchyme but apparently normal epithelial, smooth muscle. and endothelial structures. Our study identifies an important role of CYLD in lung maturation, which may underlie the development of many cases of lung cancer.

6. Novel Water Treatment Processes Based on Hybrid Membrane-Ozonation Systems: A Novel Ceramic Membrane Contactor for Bubbleless Ozonation of Emerging Micropollutants

Abstract

The aim of this study is the presentation of novel water treatment systems based on ozonation combined with ceramic membranes for the treatment of refractory organic compounds found in natural water sources such as groundwater. This includes, firstly, a short review of possible membrane based hybrid processes for water treatment from various sources. Several practical and theoretical aspects for the application of hybrid membrane-ozonation systems are discussed, along with theoretical background regarding the transformation of target organic pollutants by ozone. Next, a novel ceramic membrane contactor, bringing into contact the gas phase (ozone) and water phase without the creation of bubbles (bubbleless ozonation), is presented. Experimental data showing the membrane contactor efficiency for oxidation of atrazine, endosulfan, and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) are shown and discussed. Almost complete endosulfan degradation was achieved with the use of the ceramic contactor, whereas atrazine degradation higher than 50% could not be achieved even after 60 min of reaction time. Single ozonation of water containing MTBE could not result in a significant MTBE degradation. MTBE mineralization by O3/H2O2 combination increased at higher pH values and O3/H2O2 molar ratio of 0.2 reaching a maximum of around 65%.

Abstract

Background: Literature suggests colonic resection and primary anastomosis (RPA) instead of Hartmann’s procedure (HP) for the treatment of left-sided colonic emergencies. We aim to evaluate the surgical options globally used to treat patients with acute left-sided colonic emergencies and the factors that leading to the choice of treatment, comparing HP and RPA. Methods: This is a prospective, international, multicenter, observational study registered on ClinicalTrials.gov. A total 1215 patients with left-sided colonic emergencies who required surgery were included from 204 centers during the period of March 1, 2020, to May 31, 2020. with a 1-year follow-up. Results: 564 patients (43.1%) were females. The mean age was 65.9 ± 15.6 years. HP was performed in 697 (57.3%) patients and RPA in 384 (31.6%) cases. Complicated acute diverticulitis was the most common cause of left-sided colonic emergencies (40.2%), followed by colorectal malignancy (36.6%). Severe complications (Clavien-Dindo ≥ 3b) were higher in the HP group (P < 0.001). 30-day mortality was higher in HP patients (13.7%), especially in case of bowel perforation and diffused peritonitis. 1-year follow-up showed no differences on ostomy reversal rate between HP and RPA. (P = 0.127). A backward likelihood logistic regression model showed that RPA was preferred in younger patients, having low ASA score (≤ 3), in case of large bowel obstruction, absence of colonic ischemia, longer time from admission to surgery, operating early at the day working hours, by a surgeon who performed more than 50 colorectal resections. Conclusions: After 100 years since the first Hartmann’s procedure, HP remains the most common treatment for left-sided colorectal emergencies. Treatment’s choice depends on patient characteristics, the time of surgery and the experience of the surgeon. RPA should be considered as the gold standard for surgery, with HP being an exception.

Abstract

Fullerenes, as single crystals, present exceptional mechanical and physical properties due to their hollow spherical molecular structure consisting of carbon atoms connected by covalent bonds. The idea of linking these allotropes of carbon to create monolayer networks has now been accomplished experimentally. The question that remains to be answered is if these synthesized single‐layered nanosheets of fullerene present comparable properties with graphene monolayers. To answer this important question and to estimate the full tensile stress–strain behavior of quasi‐tetragonal as well as quasi‐hexagonal configurations of C60 planar networks, several Molecular Dynamics simulations are performed in this work by using a new REAXFF and the AIREBO‐M potential. Various mechanical properties, such as Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, ultimate tensile strength, ultimate tensile strain, and fracture energy at failure of C60 monolayers of several sizes, are computed and compared with the results reported in the literature. Furthermore, a comprehensive discussion is made regarding the significant influence of the adopted potential on the numerical predictions of the elastic mechanical and fracture behavior of the fullerene nanosheets. Abstract

Background Venous sinus stenting (VSS) is a promising treatment option for medically refractory idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). There are no published studies comparing the performance of different types of stents employed in VSS procedures. In this study we aimed to compare the safety and efficacy outcomes of the Zilver 518 (Cook Medical, Bloomington, Indiana, USA) and the Carotid Wallstent (Boston Scientific, Marlborough, Massachusetts, USA) devices. Methods Records of patients with IIH who underwent VSS between January 2015 and February 2022 at a single referral center were retrospectively reviewed. Patients treated with the Zilver stent or Carotid Wallstent were included in the study. Stent model and size data, pre- and post-treatment pressure gradients, technical and safety outcomes, and pre- and post- stenting papilledema, headache, and tinnitus severity were collected. The χ² and Fisher-Freeman-Halton tests were used for categorical data and the Student's t-test and Mann-Whitney U test were employed to examine the differences in non-categorical variables. Results A total of 81 procedures (28 (34.5%) with the Zilver stent and 53 (65.5%) with the Carotid Wallstent) were performed in 76 patients. The mean procedure time was significantly shorter with the Zilver stent (22.56±10.2 vs 33.9±15 min, p=0.001). The papilledema improvement and resolution rates did not significantly differ between groups (94.7% vs 94.5%, p>0.99 for improvement; 78.9% vs 67.5%, p=0.37 for resolution). The tinnitus improvement and resolution rates in the Zilver stent group were significantly higher than those of the Carotid Wallstent group (100% vs 78.9%, p=0.041; 90% vs 63.1%, p=0.03, respectively). Additionally, the Zilver stent provided a significantly higher rate of headache resolution and improvement than the Carotid Wallstent (84.6% vs 27.6%, p=0.001 for resolution; 92.3% vs 72.3%, p=0.043 for improvement). One patient from the Carotid Wallstent group underwent re-stenting due to in-stent stenosis and refractory papilledema. No significant in-stent stenosis was observed in the Zilver stent group. Conclusion Stent choice may affect VSS outcomes. The Zilver stent provided better clinical outcomes than the Carotid Wallstent, with significantly shorter procedure times. Abstract

The significant developments of additive manufacturing and especially 3D-printing technologies have broadened the application field of metamaterials. The present study aims at establishing the main design parameters of a novel 3D-printed polymer-based joint. The proposed joint can efficiently absorb impact energy, relieving the material components from extensive plastic deformations. The design of the machine element is inspired by the molecular structure of carbon nanotubes and appropriately adjusted in such a way that it has the ability to partially transform translational motion to rotational motion and, thus, provide axial structural protection from compressive shocks. The utilized material is a photosensitive resin that is typically utilized in 3D manufacturing processes. Experiments are utilized to characterize the mechanical performance of the raw material as well as the static compressive behavior of the joint. Finally, finite element simulations are performed to test the developed design under impact loadings characterized by different frequencies. The damping capabilities of the metamaterial-based joint are revealed and discussed.

30. Thermomechanical Behavior of Bone-Shaped SWCNT/Polyethylene Nanocomposites via Molecular Dynamics

Abstract

In the present study, the thermomechanical effects of adding a newly proposed nanoparticle within a polymer matrix such as polyethylene are being investigated. The nanoparticle is formed by a typical single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) and two equivalent giant carbon fullerenes that are attached with the nanotube edges through covalent bonds. In this way, a bone-shaped nanofiber is developed that may offer enhanced thermomechanical characteristics when used as a polymer filler, due to each unique shape and chemical nature. The investigation is based on molecular dynamics simulations of the tensile stress-strain response of polymer nanocomposites under a variety of temperatures. The thermomechanical behavior of the bone-shaped nanofiber-reinforced polyethylene is compared with that of an equivalent nanocomposite filled with ordinary capped single-walled carbon nanotubes, in order to reach some coherent fundamental conclusions. The study focuses on the evaluation of some basic, temperature-dependent properties of the nanocomposite reinforced with these innovative bone-shaped allotropes of carbon.

Abstract

Laminated composites have important applications in modern aeronautical structures due to their extraordinary mechanical and environmental behaviour. Nevertheless, aircraft composite structures are highly vulnerable to impact damage, either by low-velocity sources during maintenance or high-velocity sources during in-flight events. Even barely visible impact damage induced by low-velocity loading, substantially reduces the residual mechanical performance and the safe-service life of the composites structures. Despite the extensive research already carried out, impact damage of laminated composite structures is still not well understood and it is an area of on-going research. Numerical modelling is considered as the most efficient tool as compared to the expensive and time-consuming experimental testing. In this paper, a finite element model based on explicit dynamics formulations is adopted. Hashin criterion is applied to predict the intra-laminar damage initiation and evolution. The numerical analysis is performed using the ABAQUS® programme. The employed modelling approach is validated using numerical results found in the literature and the presented results show an acceptable correlation to the available literature data. It is demonstrated that the presented model is able to capture force-time response as well as damage evolution map for a range of impact energies.

Abstract

Single walled carbon nanotubes have excellent mechanical properties, are very tough, very rigid, the ability to withstand high working temperatures, and the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any known material. However, their buckling performance under compression and at high temperatures has not been studied to a sufficient extent. The aim of this work is to provide theoretical predictions concerning the compressive buckling response of SWCNTs of different chiralities and sizes under various thermal conditions. For this reason a structural mechanics numerical formulation is adopted that uses the temperature dependent molecular structure of the nanotubes while represents the interatomic interactions within the carbon nanostructures by introducing three dimensional, two-noded, bar finite elements. The temperature dependent stiffness matrices of the utilized finite elements are constructed in accordance with theoretical relationships which are provided by molecular theory. The critical buckling compressive loads and corresponding buckled shapes of variously sized zigzag, chiral, and armchair SWCNTs are thoroughly investigated with respect to the temperature. Then, some significant conclusions are discussed regarding the effect of the temperature, nanotube size and chirality on the structural stability performance of SWCNTs.

Abstract

The aim of the present study is the numerical prediction of the mechanical behavior of the hexagonal gallium nitride (GaN) monolayer. For this purpose, a nonlinear molecular mechanics (MM) method is developed and proposed which is based on the use of three-dimensional (3d) non-linear, spring-like, finite elements, capable of representing appropriately the interatomic interactions between the atoms of the nanomaterial. In order to establish the constitutive equations of the utilized finite elements, the Stillinger-Weber potential is adopted, which may approximate both two-body (2b) as well as three-body (3b) interatomic interactions via appropriate nonlinear functions of the bond length and the interbond angle, respectively. According to the proposed MM formulation, square-shaped, single-layered, hexagonal GaN sheets of several sizes are modelled and tested under tensional loadings in both in-plain directions to compute corresponding effective mechanical properties such as Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, tensile strength, failure strain and fracture toughness. The numerical results are compared with other estimations which are available from the literature, where possible.

Abstract

The present study aims to evaluate changes in the structure-composition of natural organic matter (NOM) that occur after the application of bubbleless ozonation or peroxone treatment of surface waters. The oxidation experiments (using 0.5–2 mg O3/mg DOC, or 2:1 O3:H2O2 molar ratio) were performed in a continuous mode, using a tubular ceramic membrane contactor. Fluorescence spectroscopy (emission-excitation matrix) and liquid chromatography-organic carbon detection (LC-OCD) were mainly used for the detailed DOC characterization. In brief, the application of single ozonation resulted to high reduction of humic-like peak fluorescence intensities (50–85%) and also to the formation of two new peaks in the region of protein-like components. The co-addition of H2O2 did not present the anticipated increase in the reduction of fluorescence intensity; however, it resulted to the further oxidation of protein-like fluorophores. LC-OCD measurements confirmed the decrease of average molecular weight of NOM during ozone treatment, due to the gradual degradation of biopolymers (14–23%) and humic substances (11–17%) towards building blocks and low molecular weight (LMW) neutrals. Advanced oxidation process (AOP) treatment by the mixture O3/H2O2 resulted in the simultaneous decrease of building blocks and LMW neutral concentrations. Conventional batch ozonation and AOP experiments were conducted using ozone-saturated solutions to investigate the effect of different contacting patterns. The results revealed that the different reaction pathways followed during bubbleless and conventional batch experiments may also influence the formation of NOM oxidation intermediates.

The aim of this study was to investigate possible implications of natural and wastewater derived organic matter in river water that is subsequently used following treatment for drinking purposes. River water was subjected to lab-scale ozonation experiments under different ozone doses (0.1, 0.4, 0.8, 1.0 and 2.0 mgO3/mgC) and contact times (1, 3, 5, 8 and 10 min). Mixtures of river water with humic acids or wastewaters (sewage wastewater and secondary effluents) at different proportions were also ozonated. Dissolved organic carbon and biodegradable dissolved organic carbon concentrations as well as spectroscopic characteristics (UV absorbance and fluorescence intensities) of different types of dissolved organic matter and possible changes due to the ozonation treatment are presented. River water, humic substances and wastewater exhibited distinct spectroscopic characteristics that could serve for pollution source tracing. Wastewater impacted surface water results in higher formation of carbonyl compounds. However, the formation yield (μg/mgC) of wastewaters was lower than that of surface water possibly due to different composition of wastewater derived organic matter and the presence of scavengers, which may limit the oxidative efficiency of ozone.

Abstract

In this work, the mass-sensing ability and the corresponding detection efficiency of a fully clamped single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) are investigated through a free vibration analysis, by utilizing mainly a molecular mechanics (MM) formulation and secondarily a continuum mechanics (CM) analytical approximation. The MM method is based on representing the SWCNT as a three-dimensional (3D) finite element frame of point masses and linear springs, while the CM one is grounded on the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory. The overall effort is focused on obtaining detection maps, based on natural frequency data which are capable of leading to the straightforward identification of an unknown mass attached to the external surface of the candidate SWCNT sensor. For this reason, the SWCNT relative natural frequency shifts due to the mass addition, regarding specific modes of vibration and for a variety of mass magnitude and position combinations, are calculated beforehand. Then, the magnitude as well as the position of the added mass may be graphically found by superposing the arisen relative natural frequency shift variations in common contour diagrams. Some results from the open literature are utilized to confirm the predictive performance of the proposed MM method concerning the free vibration of pure SWCNTs, while the MM and CM established detection maps are set in contrast to examine whether a mass nanosensor may be satisfactorily treated in a continuum manner.

Abstract

This paper describes the static and free vibration behavior of single walled boron nitride nanotubes using a structural mechanics based finite element method. First, depending on the type of nanotube under investigation, its three dimensional nanostructure is developed according to the well-known corresponding positions of boron and nitride atoms as well as boron nitride bonds. Then, appropriate point masses are assigned to the atomic positions of the developed space frame. Next, these point masses are suitably interconnected with two-noded, linear, spring-like, finite elements. In order to simulate effectively the interactions observed between boron and nitride atoms within the nanotube, appropriate potential energy functions are introduced for these finite elements. In this manner, various atomistic models for both armchair and zigzag nanotubes with different aspect ratios are numerically analyzed and their effective elastic modulus as well as their natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes are obtained. Regarding the free vibration analysis, the computed results reveal bending, breathing and axial modes of vibration depending on the nanotube size and chirality as well as the applied boundary support conditions. The longitudinal stiffness of the boron nitride nanotubes is found also sensitive to their geometric characteristics.

Abstract

Bubbleless ozone contact with water was carried out using a tubular hydrophobized a-Al2O3 membrane to investigate the feasibility of this process and, also, to evaluate the effect of liquid flow rate and the different experimental conditions on ozone transfer. The membrane contactor showed increased mass transfer fluxes of ozone, ranging from 4.8 × 10–8 to 2.5 × 10–7 mol/m2·s with increased liquid flow velocity. Specific ozone dosages, ranging from less than 0.1 up to 2.7 mg/L, were achieved by adjusting liquid flow velocity and ozone concentration in the gas phase. A mathematical model recognizing all the occurring phenomena and extracting physically the relevant parameters was developed. Specific ozone properties were calculated, under the tested experimental conditions, by properly fitting the experimental and theoretical data. Abstract

Brain arteriovenous malformations are frequently associated with the presence of intracranial aneurysms at a higher-than-expected incidence based on the frequency of each lesion individually. The identification of intracranial aneurysms in association with AVMs has increased due to improvement in diagnostic techniques, particularly 3D and superselective conventional angiography. Intracranial aneurysms may confer a higher risk of hemorrhage at presentation and of rehemorrhage in patients with AVMs and therefore may be associated with a more unfavorable natural history. The association of AVMs and intracranial aneurysms poses important therapeutic challenges for practicing neurosurgeons, neurologists, and neurointerventional radiologists. In this report, we review the classification and radiology of AVM-associated intracranial aneurysms and discuss their clinical significance and implications for treatment.

Abstract

In the present paper, the tensile mechanical behavior of different sized, almost squared shaped, boron nitride nanoribbons is numerically investigated and predicted by using a structural mechanics approach based on the use of appropriate nonlinear potential functions concerning both two-body and three-body interatomic interactions appearing within their nanostructure. According to the proposed method, appropriate spring elements are combined in nanoscale in order to simulate the interatomic interactions appearing within boron-nitride nanostructure. The dimensions of boron-nitride nanoribbons as well as the shape of their edges, which may be armchair or zigzag, have influence on the overall behavior of the nanoribbons. Therefore, the study focuses on the prediction of tensile stress-strain behavior of boron-nitride nanoribbons of different sizes and edge shapes as well as on the estimation of significant corresponding material properties such as Young’s modulus, tensile strength, tensile failure strain and tensile toughness. The numerical results, which are compared with corresponding data given in the open literature where possible, demonstrate thoroughly the important influence of size and chirality of a narrow boron nitride monolayer on its mechanical behavior.

Abstract

This chapter presents an integrated computational method for the prediction of the nanoscale mechanical response of nanotubes. According to the proposed numerical approach, the nanotubes are modeled according to their equilibrium atomistic structure while standard structural mechanics principles are adopted. Utilizing molecular theory, the interatomic interactions within the nanotube are simulated via suitable spring elements that connect the nodes placed at the atomic positions. The calculation of elastic properties as well as natural frequencies requires linear approximation, whereas nonlinear formulation is utilized for the investigation of static or dynamic elastoplastic deformations. For the prediction of vibrational problems, the stiffness and mass matrices are constructed according to the nodal positions to make the dynamic equilibrium equation solvable. The natural frequencies and the corresponding modes of vibration are derived by solving the eigenvalue problem for different support conditions. The modeling is regenerative and can provide simulations for different geometric characteristics of the nanotubes. The effectiveness of the proposed computational method is demonstrated by comparisons with relevant results from the literature.

Abstract

This study investigates the performance of membrane-based ozonation and peroxone processes, regarding the transformation of carbamazepine (CBZ), benzotriazole (BZT), p-chlorobenzoic acid (pCBA) and atrazine (ATZ) in natural surface waters, as well as the formation of bromates. Ozonation, performed with the use of ceramic membrane contactor, was able to diminish CBZ concentration below 0.1 μM at 0.4 mg O3/mg DOC, i.e. presenting >90% removal rate, whereas the transformation of BZT, pCBA and ATZ was not exceeded 70%, 57% and 49%, respectively, under the same experimental conditions. The addition of H2O2 reduced the removal efficiency of CBZ, since up to -8% transformation values were observed at 0.1 mg O3/mg DOC. In contrast, the transformation of ozone-resistant compounds pCBA and ATZ was slightly improved by approximately 5–10%, at 0.8 mg O3/mg DOC. Membrane-based oxidative treatment of surface water resulted to high bromate concentrations (49 μg/L and 28 μg/L for ozone and peroxone process, respectively, at 0.8 mg O3/mg DOC). The results obtained by using the membrane contactor were also compared with the corresponding from conventional batch experiments. These results suggest that the implementation of membrane contactors with the highest possible inner surface per volume along with the use of low ozone gas concentration are required to improve the removal of micropollutants and diminish bromate formation.
