We have measured $R(T,B)$ of a TiN thin-film very close to the disorder-driven superconductor-insulator transition but still superconducting at zero field and low temperatures. In a magnetic field we find three distinct crossing point of the magnetoresistance isotherms occur at magnetic fields $B_{cX}$ in three different temperature regions. Each crossing point in $R(T,B)$ corresponds to a plateau in $R(T,B_{cX})$. We systematically study the evolution of these crossing point near the disorder-induced superconductor/insulator transition, identify the most promising candidate for a quantum phase transition, and provide estimates for the two critical exponents $z$ and $\nu$., Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures plus supplement

The nature of hadrons is one of the most fundamental mysteries of physics. It is generally agreed that they are made of "colored" quarks, which move nearly free at short scales but are confined inside hadrons by strong interactions at large distances. Because of confinement, quarks are never directly observable and, experimentally, their properties can be tested only indirectly, via high energy collisions. Here we show that superinsulating films realize a complete, one-color model system of hadron physics with Cooper pairs playing the role of quarks. We report measurements on highly controlled NbTiN films that provide a window into the interior of "Cooper pair mesons" and present the first direct evidence of asymptotic freedom, `t Hooft's dual superconductivity confinement mechanism, and magnetic monopoles.

We have measured the electric transport properties of TiN nanostrips with different widths. At zero magnetic field the temperature dependent resistance R(T) saturates at a finite resistance towards low temperatures, which results from quantum phase slips in the narrower strips. We find that the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of the narrowest strips are equivalent to those of small Josephson junctions. Applying a transverse magnetic field drives the devices into a reentrant insulating phase, with I-V-characteristics dual to those in the superconducting regime. The results evidence that our critically disordered superconducting nanostrips behave like small self-organized random Josephson networks., Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures + supplement

Resistivity $\rho$, thermopower ${\cal S}$, and thermal conductivity $\kappa$ were measured simultaneously on a set of CoFe alloy films. Variation of the Co-content $x_\mathrm{Co}$ allows for a systematic tuning of the Fermi level through the band structure, and the study of the interplay between electronic and magnetic contributions to the transport coefficients. While band structure and magnon effects in $\rho$ and $\kappa$ are rather weak, they turn out to be very significant in ${\cal S}$. The evolution of Mott and magnon drag contributions to ${\cal S}$ is traced between the two limiting cases of pure Fe and pure Co. Spin/magnetisation relaxation and coherence times, respectively T_1 and T_2, initially defined in the context of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), are general concepts applicable to a wide range of systems, including quantum bits [1-4]. At first glance, these ideas might seem to be irrelevant to conventional Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) superconductors, as the BCS superconducting ground state is a condensate of Cooper pairs of electrons with opposite spins (in a singlet state) [5]. It has recently been demonstrated, however, that a non-equilibrium magnetisation can appear in the quasiparticle (i.e. excitation) population of a conventional superconductor, with relaxation times on the order of several nanoseconds [6-10]. This raises the question of the spin coherence time of quasiparticles in superconductors and whether this can be measured through resonance experiments analogous to NMR and electron spin resonance (ESR). We conducted a systematic study of the disorder dependence of the termination of superconductivity, at high magnetic fields (B), of amorphous indium oxide films. Our lower disorder films show conventional behavior where superconductivity is terminated with a transition to a metallic state at a well-defined critical field, Bc2. Our higher disorder samples undergo a B-induced transition into a strongly insulating state, which terminates at higher B's forming an insulating peak. We demonstrate that the B terminating this peak coincides with Bc2 of the lower disorder samples. Additionally we show that, beyond this field, these samples enter a different insulating state in which the magnetic field dependence of the resistance is weak. In single electron tunneling through clean, suspended carbon nanotube devices at low temperature, distinct switching phenomena have regularly been observed. These can be explained via strong interaction of single electron tunneling and vibrational motion of the nanotube. We present measurements on a highly stable nanotube device, subsequently recorded in the vacuum chamber of a dilution refrigerator and immersed in the 3He/4He mixture of a second dilution refrigerator. The switching phenomena are absent when the sample is kept in the viscous liquid, additionally supporting the interpretation of dc-driven vibration. Transport measurements in liquid helium can thus be used for finite bias spectroscopy where otherwise the mechanical effects would dominate the current., Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures

We present electronic transport measurements of a single wall carbon nanotube quantum dot coupled to Nb superconducting contacts. For temperatures comparable to the superconducting gap peculiar transport features are observed inside the Coulomb blockade and superconducting energy gap regions. The observed temperature dependence can be explained in terms of sequential tunneling processes involving thermally excited quasiparticles. In particular, these new channels give rise to two unusual conductance peaks at zero bias in the vicinity of the charge degeneracy point and allow to determine the degeneracy of the ground states involved in transport. Understanding the interplay between many-body phenomena and non-equilibrium in systems with entangled spin and orbital degrees of freedom is a central objective in nano-electronics. We demonstrate that the combination of Coulomb interaction, spin-orbit coupling and valley mixing results in a particular selection of the inelastic virtual processes contributing to the Kondo resonance in carbon nanotubes at low temperatures. This effect is dictated by conjugation properties of the underlying carbon nanotube spectrum at zero and finite magnetic field. Our measurements on a clean carbon nanotube are complemented by calculations based on a new approach to the non-equilibrium Kondo problem which well reproduces the rich experimental observations in Kondo transport., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures; appendix of 14 pages, 7 figures

Transverse magneto-thermoelectric effects are studied in permalloy thin films grown on MgO and GaAs substrates and compared to those grown on suspended SiN membranes. The transverse voltage along platinum strips patterned on top of the permalloy films is measured vs. the external magnetic field as a function of angle and temperature gradient. After the identification of the contribution of the planar and anomalous Nernst effects, we find an upper limit for the transverse spin Seebeck effect, which is several orders of magnitude smaller than previously reported.

Tunneling spectroscopy of a Nb coupled carbon nanotube quantum dot reveals the formation of pairs of Andreev bound states (ABS) within the superconducting gap. A weak replica of the lower ABS is found, which is generated by quasi-particle tunnelling from the ABS to the Al tunnel probe. An inversion of the ABS-dispersion is observed at elevated temperatures, which signals the thermal occupation of the upper ABS. A suspended, doubly clamped single wall carbon nanotube is characterized as driven nano-electromechanical resonator at cryogenic temperatures. Electronically, the carbon nanotube displays small bandgap behaviour with Coulomb blockade oscillations in electron conduction and transparent contacts in hole conduction. We observe the driven mechanical resonance in dc-transport, including multiple higher harmonic responses. The data shows a distinct negative frequency tuning at finite applied gate voltage, enabling us to electrostatically decrease the resonance frequency to 75% of its maximum value. It was recently suggested that a novel type of phase transition may occur in the visibility of electronic Mach-Zehnder Interferometers. Here, we present experimental evidence for the existence of this transition. The transition is induced by strongly non-Gaussian noise that originates from the strong coupling of a quantum point contact to the interferometer. We provide a transparent physical picture of the effect, by exploiting a close analogy to the neutrino-oscillations of particle physics. A unified view on macroscopic thermodynamics and quantum transport is presented. Thermodynamic processes with an exchange of energy between two systems necessarily involve the flow of other balanceable quantities. These flows are first analyzed using a simple drift-diffusion model, which includes the thermoelectric effects, and connects the various transport coefficients to certain thermodynamic susceptibilities and a diffusion coefficient. In the second part of the paper the connection between macroscopic thermodynamics and quantum statistics is discussed. It is proposed to employ not particles, but 'elementary Fermi- or Bose-systems' as the elementary building blocks of ideal quantum gases. In this way, the transport not only of particles, but also of entropy can be derived in a concise way, and is illustrated for both ballistic quantum wires and diffusive conductors. We investigate non-linear transport in a double quantum dot connected to two normal electrodes and a central superconducting finger. By this means, we perform a transport spectroscopy of such a system which implements a Cooper pair splitter. The non-linear conductance exhibits strong subgap features which can be associated with the coherence of the injected Cooper pairs. Our findings are well accounted for by the recently developed microscopic theory of Cooper pairs splitters made in SWNTs., Comment: 4 pages 4 figures

We have investigated the magnetoresistance of lithographically prepared single-layer graphene nanoribbons in pulsed, perpendicular magnetic fields up to 60 T and performed corresponding transport simulations using a tight-binding model and several types of disorder. In experiment, at high carrier densities we observe Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations and the quantum Hall effect, while at low densities the oscillations disappear and an initially negative magnetoresistance becomes strongly positive at high magnetic fields. The strong resistance increase at very high fields and low carrier densities is tentatively ascribed to a field-induced insulating state in the bulk graphene leads. We report markedly different transport properties of ABA- and ABC-stacked trilayer graphenes. Our experiments in double-gated trilayer devices provide evidence that a perpendicular electric field opens an energy gap in the ABC trilayer, while it causes the increase of a band overlap in the ABA trilayer. In a perpendicular magnetic field, the ABA trilayer develops quantum Hall plateaus at filling factors of \nu = 2, 4, 6... with a step of \Delta \nu = 2, whereas the inversion symmetric ABC trilayer exhibits plateaus at \nu = 6 and 10 with 4-fold spin and valley degeneracy., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

We have investigated the magnetoconductance of semiconducting carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in pulsed, parallel magnetic fields up to 60 T, and report the direct observation of the predicted band-gap closure and the reopening of the gap under variation of the applied magnetic field. The finite-temperature magnetic properties of Fe$_x$Pd$_{1-x}$ and Co$_x$Pt$_{1-x}$ alloys have been investigated. It is shown that the temperature-dependent magnetic behaviour of alloys, composed of originally magnetic and non-magnetic elements, cannot be described properly unless the coupling between magnetic moments at magnetic atoms (Fe,Co) mediated through the interactions with induced magnetic moments of non-magnetic atoms (Pd,Pt) is included. A scheme for the calculation of the Curie temperature ($T_C$) for this type of systems is presented which is based on the extended Heisenberg Hamiltonian with the appropriate exchange parameters $J_{ij}$ obtained from {\em ab-initio} electronic structure calculations. Within the present study the KKR Green's function method has been used to calculate the $J_{ij}$ parameters. A comparison of the obtained Curie temperatures for Fe$_x$Pd$_{1-x}$ and Co$_x$Pt$_{1-x}$ alloys with experimental data shows rather good agreement., Comment: 10 pages, 12 figures

We investigate experimentally the electric transport at the insulating side of the superconductor to insulator transition in thin TiN-films. At temperatures T > 50 mK we observe an Arrhenius-type conductance, with an activation energy depending logarithmically on the sample size. At high bias the current voltage (I-V) characteristics display a large current jump into an electron heating dominated regime. For the largest samples, and below 50 mK we observe a low-bias power law I ~ V^alpha characteristics with an exponent alpha > 1 rapidly growing with decreasing temperature, which is expected for a binding-unbinding crossover of the charge-Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless type., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

The magneto-conductance of an open carbon nanotube (CNT)-quantum wire was measured in pulsed magnetic fields. At low temperatures we find a peculiar split magneto-conductance peak close to the charge neutrality point. Our analysis of the data reveals that this splitting is intimately connected to the spin-orbit interaction and the tube chirality. We investigate an electronic Mach-Zehnder interferometer with high visibility in the quantum Hall regime. The superposition of the electrostatic potentials from a quantum point contact (QPC) and the residual disorder potential from doping impurities frequently results in the formation of inadvertent quantum dots (QD) in one arm of the interferometer. This gives rise to resonances in the QPC transmission characteristics. We report on conductance measurements in carbon nanotube based double quantum dots connected to two normal electrodes and a central superconducting finger. By operating our devices as beam splitters, we provide evidence for Crossed Andreev Reflections \textit{tunable in situ}. We study narrow ballistic Josephson weak links in a InAs quantum wells contacted by Nb electrodes and find a dramatic magnetic-field suppression of the Andreev reflection amplitude, which occurs even for in-plane field orientation with essentially no magnetic flux through the junction. Our observations demonstrate the presence of a Doppler shift in the energy of the Andreev levels, which results from diamagnetic screening currents in the hybrid Nb/InAs-banks. We investigate the insulating phase that forms in a titanium nitride film in a close vicinity of the disorder-driven superconductor-insulator transition. In zero magnetic field the temperature dependence of the resistance reveals a sequence of distinct regimes upon decreasing temperature crossing over from logarithmic to activated behavior with the variable-range hopping squeezing in between. In perpendicular magnetic fields below 2 T, the thermally activated regime retains at intermediate temperatures, whereas at ultralow temperatures, the resistance increases faster than that of the thermally activated type. This indicates a change of the mechanism of the conductivity. We study the visibility of Aharonov-Bohm interference in an electronic Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) in the integer quantum Hall regime. The visibility is controlled by the filling factor $\nu$ and is observed only between $\nu \approx 2.0$ and 1.0, with an unexpected maximum near $\nu=1.5$. Three energy scales extracted from the temperature and voltage dependences of the visibility change in a very similar way with the filling factor, indicating that the different aspects of the interference depend sensitively on the local structure of the compressible and incompressible strips forming the quantum Hall edge channels., Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures, final version accepted for publication in Phys. We investigate the current-phase-relation (CPR) of long diffusive superconductor-normal metal-superconductor (SNS) Josephson junctions in thermodynamic equilibrium and under microwave irradiation. While in equilibrium good agreement with the predictions of quasi-classical theory is found, we observe that the shape of the CPR can be strongly affected by microwave irradiation. Close to a Josephson-phase difference of pi, the supercurrent can be strongly suppressed when increasing the rf-power. Our results can be understood in terms of microwave excitation of low-lying Andreev bound states across the mini-gap in the junction. We investigate the magnetic response of a superconducting Nb ring containing a ferromagnetic PdNi Josephson junction and a tunnel junction in parallel. A doubling of the switching frequency is observed within certain intervals of the external magnetic field. Assuming sinusoidal current-phase relations of both junctions our model of a dc-SQUID embedded within a superconducting ring explains this feature by a sequence of current reversals in the ferromagnetic section of the junction in these field intervals. We investigate low-temperature transport properties of thin TiN superconducting films in the vicinity of the disorder-driven superconductor-insulator transition. In a zero magnetic field, we find an extremely sharp separation between superconducting and insulating phases, evidencing a direct superconductor-insulator transition without an intermediate metallic phase. At moderate temperatures, in the insulating films we reveal thermally activated conductivity with the magnetic field-dependent activation energy. At very low temperatures, we observe a zero-conductivity state, which is destroyed at some depinning threshold voltage V_T. We investigate the temperature and voltage dependence of the quantum interference in an electronic Mach-Zehnder interferometer using edge channels in the integer quantum-Hall-regime. The amplitude of the interference fringes is significantly smaller than expected from theory; nevertheless the functional dependence of the visibility on temperature and bias voltage agrees very well with theoretical predictions. Superimposed on the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) oscillations, a conductance oscillation with six times smaller period is observed. Magnetotransport measurements in large diameter multiwall carbon nanotubes (20-40 nm) demonstrate the competition of a magnetic-field dependent bandstructure and Altshuler-Aronov-Spivak oscillations. By means of an efficient capacitive coupling to a backgate electrode, the magnetoconductance oscillations are explored as a function of Fermi level shift. Changing the magnetic field orientation with respect to the tube axis and by ensemble averaging, allows to identify the contributions of different Aharonov-Bohm phases. We study nonlocal vortex transport in mesoscopic amorphous Nb0.7Ge0.3 samples. A dc current I is passed through a wire connected via a perpendicular channel, of a length L= 2-5 um, with a pair of voltage probes where a nonlocal response Vnl ~ I is measured. The maximum of Rnl=Vnl/I for a given temperature occurs at an L-independent magnetic field and is proportional to 1/L. The results are interpreted in terms of the dissipative vortex motion along the channel driven by a remote current, and can be understood in terms of a simple model., Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures

We investigate ultrathin superconducting TiN films, which are very close to the localization threshold. Perpendicular magnetic field drives the films from the superconducting to an insulating state, with very high resistance. Further increase of the magnetic field leads to an exponential decay of the resistance towards a finite value. In the limit of low temperatures, the saturation value can be very accurately extrapolated to the universal quantum resistance h/e^2. Our analysis suggests that at high magnetic fields a new ground state, distinct from the normal metallic state occurring above the superconducting transition temperature, is formed. We report on the effects of perforating submicron holes on the vortex dynamics of amorphous Nb0.7Ge0.3 microbridges in the strongly nonequilibrium mixed state, when vortex properties change substantially. In contrast to the weak nonequilibrium - when the presence of holes may result in either an increase (close to Tc) or a decrease (well below Tc) of the dissipation, in the strong nonequilibrium an enhanced dissipation is observed irrespectively of the bath temperature. Close to Tc this enhancement is similar to that in the weak nonequilibrium, but corresponds to vortices shrunk due to the Larkin-Ovchinnikov mechanism. At low temperatures the enhancement is a consequence of a weakening of the flux pinning by the holes in a regime where electron heating dominates the superconducting properties., Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures

We measured and compared the electric field vs current density characteristics in the vortex state of two amorphous Nb0.7Ge0.3 microbridges, with and without a line of submicron holes patterned along the sample axis. The power dissipation in the perforated sample exhibits a crossover, being reduced at temperatures well below the superconducting transition temperature Tc and unexpectedly enhanced close to Tc. At low temperatures the holes are efficient artificial pinning centres and reduce the average vortex velocity. We argue that the dissipation enhancement close to Tc is a consequence of a combination of the weakened pinning by the holes and an inhomogeneous driving-current distribution in their vicinity, which results in an increased average vortex velocity as well as in a channeling of the vortex motion through the holes., Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures

We present magnetization measurements of mesoscopic superconducting niobium loops containing a ferromagnetic (PdNi) pi-junction. The loops are prepared on top of the active area of a micro Hall-sensor based on high mobility GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures. We observe asymmetric switching of the loop between different magnetization states when reversing the sweep direction of the magnetic field. This provides evidence for a spontaneous current induced by the intrinsic phase shift of the pi-junction. In addition, the presence of the spontaneous current near zero applied field is directly revealed by an increase of the magnetic moment with decreasing temperature, which results in half integer flux quantization in the loop at low temperatures., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

Temperature- and magnetic-field dependent measurements of the resistance of ultrathin superconducting TiN films are presented. The analysis of the temperature dependence of the zero field resistance indicates an underlying insulating behavior, when the contribution of Aslamasov-Larkin fluctuations is taken into account. This demonstrates the possibility of coexistence of the superconducting and insulating phases and of a direct transition from the one to the other. The scaling behavior of magnetic field data is in accordance with a superconductor-insulator transition (SIT) driven by quantum phase fluctuations in two-dimensional superconductor. The temperature dependence of the isomagnetic resistance data on the high-field side of the SIT has been analyzed and the presence of an insulating phase was confirmed. We report measurements of the electric field vs. current density [E(J] characteristics in the mixed state of amorphous Nb0.7Ge0.3 microbridges. Close to the transition temperature Tc the Larkin-Ovchinnikov theory of nonlinear flux flow and the related instability describes the data quantitatively up to ~ 70% of the upper critical magnetic field Bc2 and over a wide electric field range. At lower temperatures the nonlinearities of E(J)can be described by electron heating which reduces Bc2 and leads to a second type of flux flow instability, as shown by a scaling analysis of the high-dissipation data., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

We report high-resolution measurements of voltage (V) noise in the mixed state of micrometre-sized thin films of amorphous Nb0.7Ge0.3, which is a good representative of weak-pinning superconductors. There is a remarkable difference between the noise below and above the irreversibility field Birr. Below Birr, in the presence of measurable pinning, the noise at small applied currents resembles shot noise, and in the regime of flux flow at larger currents decreases with increasing voltage due to a progressive ordering of the vortex motion. At magnetic fields B between Birr and the upper critical field Bc2 flux flow is present already at vanishingly small currents. In this regime the noise scales with (1-B/Bc2)^2 V^2 and has a frequency (f) spectrum of 1/f type. Shot noise of series quantum point contacts forming a sequence of cavities in a two dimensional electron gas are studied theoretically and experimentally. Noise in such a structure originates from local scattering at the point contacts as well as from chaotic motion of the electrons in the cavities. We found that the measured shot noise is in reasonable agreement with our theoretical prediction taking the cavity noise into account., Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures

We study the influence of a DC bias voltage V on quantum interference corrections to the measured differential conductance in metallic mesoscopic wires and rings. The amplitude of both universal conductance fluctuations (UCF) and Aharonov-Bohm effect (ABE) is enhanced several times for voltages larger than the Thouless energy. The enhancement persists even in the presence of inelastic electron-electron scattering up to V ~ 1 mV. For larger voltages electron-phonon collisions lead to the amplitude decaying as a power law for the UCF and exponentially for the ABE. We realized an equivalent Hanbury Brown and Twiss experiment for a beam of electrons in a two dimensional electron gas in the quantum Hall regime. A metallic split gate serves as a tunable beam splitter which is used to partition the incident beam into transmitted and reflected partial beams. The current fluctuations in the reflected and transmitted beam are fully anticorrelated demonstrating that fermions tend to exclude each other (anti-bunching). If the occupation probability of the incident beam is lowered by an additional gate, the anticorrelation is reduced and disappears in the classical limit of a highly diluted beam.

We have experimentally studied shot noise of chaotic cavities defined by two quantum point contacts in series. The cavity noise is determined as 1/4*2e|I| in agreement with theory and can be well distinguished from other contributions to noise generated at the contacts. Subsequently, we have found that cavity noise decreases if one of the contacts is further opened and reaches nearly zero for a highly asymmetric cavity., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, REVTeX

We report measurements of the amplitude of the Aharonov-Bohm oscillations in a mesoscopic diffusive gold ring as a function of the DC bias voltage V. The amplitude of the h/e oscillations increases with V once the Thouless energy Ec and thermal energy are exceeded, and decreases at higher values of V. The increase of the amplitude is interpreted in terms of a superposition of the statistically independent contributions of eV/Ec energy intervals, whereas its decrease at high V could be attributed to enhanced inelastic scattering processes., Comment: 5 pages, corrected typos, to be published in Fizika A (Zagreb)

We report on intrinsic time-dependent conductance fluctuations observed in mesoscopic AuFe spin glass wires. These dynamical fluctuations have a 1/f-like spectrum and appear below the measured spin glass freezing temperature of our samples. The dependence of the fluctuation amplitude on temperature, magnetic field, voltage and Fe concentration allows a consistent interpretation in terms of quantum interference effects which are sensitive to the slowly fluctuating spin configuration., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

We report equilibrium electric resistance R and tunneling spectroscopy dI/dV measurements obtained on single multiwall nanotubes contacted by four metallic Au fingers from above. At low temperature quantum interference phenomena dominate the magnetoresistance. The phase-coherence and elastic-scattering lengths are deduced. Because the latter is of order of the circumference of the nanotubes, transport is quasi-ballistic. This result is supported by a dI/dV spectrum which is in good agreement with the density-of-states (DOS) due to the one-dimensional subbands expected for a perfect single-wall tube. As a function of temperature T the resistance increases on decreasing T and saturates at approx. 1-10 K for all measured nanotubes. R(T) cannot be related to the energy-dependent DOS of graphene but is mainly caused by interaction and interference effects. On a relatively small voltage scale of order 10 meV, a pseudogap is observed in dI/dV which agrees with Luttinger-Liquid theories for nanotubes. Because we have used quantum diffusion based on Fermi-Liquid as well as Luttinger-Liquid theory in trying to understand our results, a large fraction of this paper is devoted to a careful discussion of all our results., Comment: 14 pages (twocolumn), 8 figures

We have studied superconductor/normal metal/superconductor (SNS) junctions consisting of short Au or Cu wires between Nb or Al banks. The Nb based junctions display inherent electron heating effects induced by the high thermal resistance of the NS boundaries. The Al based junctions show in addition subharmonic gap structures in the differential conductance dI/dV and a pronounced peak in the excess noise at very low voltages V. We suggest that the noise peak is caused by fluctuations of the supercurrent at the onset of Josephson coupling between the superconducting banks. At intermediate temperatures where the supercurrent is suppressed a noise contribution ~1/V remains, which may be interpreted as shot noise originating from large multiple charges., Comment: 7 pages, 7 figures, extended version
