Abstract

The homeless population is surrounded by many obstacles while trying to obtain the essentials of life including food, water, shelter, clothes, medical care, and safety. In many areas of the United States and other countries homelessness is becoming an increasing problem. Compared to standard healthcare, the Patient-Centered Medical Home Model is offering a better experience for homeless patients. This integrated review provides a selection of published studies and information on the homeless population and the beginning of the Patient-Centered Medical Home Model to improve access and healthcare to many homeless patients. As the model is accepted by more medical professionals, coordination of healthcare for the homeless may improve.

Japanese real estate, construction, insurance, investment and banking firms are ridding themselves of about $5 billion to $10 billion worth of US real estate investments. However, US investors interested in picking up such investments should understand what is happening. The Japanese invested heavily in US real estate, but in the early 1990s the US recession adversely affected these investments. Most Japanese held on to their investments, but as they sold, the rising value of the yen against the dollar resulted in less profit. The Japanese will continue to sell their properties during 1995, resulting in investment opportunities., Institutional investors are aggressively pursuing opportunities to acquire real estate assets from Japanese owners and lenders in what may be the next wave of commercial-property sales in the United States.
