We propose a new generalization of the standard (anti-)commutation relations for creation and annihilation operators of bosons and fermions. These relations preserve the usual symmetry properties of bosons and fermions. Only the standard (anti-)commutator relation involving one creation and one annihilation operator is deformed by introducing fractional coefficients, containing a positive integer parameter $p$. The Fock space is determined by the classical definition. The new relations are chosen in such a way that the total occupation number in the system has the maximum value $p$. From the actions of creation and annihilation operators in the Fock space, a group theoretical framework is determined, and from here the correspondence with known particle statistics is established.

A ${\mathbb Z}_2\times{\mathbb Z}_2$-graded Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ is a ${\mathbb Z}_2\times{\mathbb Z}_2$-graded algebra $\mathfrak g$ with a bracket $[|. , . |]$ that satisfies certain graded versions of the symmetry and Jacobi identity. In particular, despite the common terminology, $\mathfrak g$ is not a Lie algebra. We construct classes of ${\mathbb Z}_2\times{\mathbb Z}_2$-graded Lie algebras corresponding to the classical Lie algebras, in terms of their defining matrices. For the ${\mathbb Z}_2\times{\mathbb Z}_2$-graded Lie algebra of type $A$, the construction coincides with the previously known class. For the ${\mathbb Z}_2\times{\mathbb Z}_2$-graded Lie algebra of type $B$, $C$ and $D$ our construction is new and gives rise to interesting defining matrices closely related to the classical ones but undoubtedly different. We also give some examples and possible applications to parastatistics.

A $Z_2\times Z_2$-graded Lie superalgebra $g$ is a $Z_2\times Z_2$-graded algebra with a bracket $[.,.]$ that satisfies certain graded versions of the symmetry and Jacobi identity. In particular, despite the common terminology, $g$ is not a Lie superalgebra. We construct the most general orthosymplectic $Z_2\times Z_2$-graded Lie superalgebra $osp(2m_1+1,2m_2|2n_1,2n_2)$ in terms of defining matrices. A special case of this algebra appeared already in work of Tolstoy in 2014. Our construction is based on the notion of graded supertranspose for a $Z_2\times Z_2$-graded matrix. Since the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra $osp(2m+1|2n)$ is closely related to the definition of parabosons, parafermions and mixed parastatistics, we investigate here the new parastatistics relations following from $osp(2m_1+1,2m_2|2n_1,2n_2)$. Some special cases are of particular interest, even when one is dealing with parabosons only.

We construct classes of $Z_2 \times Z_2$-graded Lie algebras corresponding to the classical Lie algebras, in terms of their defining matrices. In this short communication we show how the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_2$ can easily be described as a free Lie algebra on 3 generators, subject to some simple quadruple relations for these generators.

It has been known for a long time that there are two non-trivial possibilities for the relative commutation relations between a set of $m$ parafermions and a set of $n$ parabosons. These two choices are known as ``relative parafermion type'' and ``relative paraboson type'', and correspond to quite different underlying algebraic structures. In this short note we show how the two possibilities are related by a so-called Klein transformation.

The parastatistics Fock spaces of order $p$ corresponding to an infinite number of parafermions and parabosons with relative paraboson relations are constructed. New formulas are given for the grand partition function of paraboson systems of order p with n orbitals and parafermion systems of order p with m orbitals. These formulas allow the computation of statistical and thermodynamic functions for such systems. We analyze and discuss the average number of particles on an orbital, and the average number of particles in the system. For some special cases (identical orbital energies, or equidistant orbital energies) we can simplify the grand partition functions and describe thermodynamic properties in more detail. Some specific properties are also illustrated in plots of thermodynamic functions.

We present a novel realisation of the $\mathbb{Z}_2\times\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m_1,m_2|n_1,n_2)$ inside an algebraic extension of the enveloping algebra of the $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$, with $m=m_1+m_2$ and $n=n_1+n_2$. A consequence of this realisation is that the representations of $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$ "lift up" to representations of $\mathfrak{gl}(m_1,m_2|n_1,n_2)$, with matrix elements differing only by a sign, which we are able to characterise concisely.

The algebraic structure generated by the creation and annihilation operators of a system of m parafermions and n parabosons, satisfying the mutual parafermion relations, is known to be the Lie superalgebra osp(2m+1|2n). The Fock spaces of such systems are then certain lowest weight representations of osp(2m+1|2n). In the current paper, we investigate what happens when the number of parafermions and parabosons becomes infinite. In order to analyze the algebraic structure, and the Fock spaces, we first need to develop a new matrix form for the Lie superalgebra B(n,n)=osp(2n+1|2n), and construct a new Gelfand-Zetlin basis of the Fock spaces in the finite rank case. The new structures are appropriate for the situation $n\rightarrow\infty$. The algebra generated by the infinite number of creation and annihilation operators is $B(\infty,\infty)$, a well defined infinite rank version of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra. The Fock spaces are lowest weight representations of $B(\infty,\infty)$, with a basis consisting of particular row-stable Gelfand-Zetlin patterns.

In a recent paper characters and superdimension formulas were investigated for the class of representations with Dynkin labels $[0,\ldots,0,p]$ of the Lie superalgebra $osp(m|n)$. Such representations are infinite-dimensional, and of relevance in supergravity theories provided their superdimension is finite. We have shown that the superdimension of such representations coincides with the dimension of a $so(m-n)$ representation. In the present contribution, we investigate how this $osp(m|n)\sim so(m-n)$ correspondence can be extended to the class of $osp(2m|2n)$ representations with Dynkin labels $[0,\ldots,0,q,p]$.

Chiral spinors and self dual tensors of the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{osp}(m|n)$ are infinite dimensional representations belonging to the class of representations with Dynkin labels $[0,\ldots,0,p]$. We have shown that the superdimension of $[0,\ldots,0,p]$ coincides with the dimension of a $\mathfrak{so}(m-n)$ representation. When the superdimension is finite, these representations could play a role in supergravity models. Our technique is based on expansions of characters in terms of supersymmetric Schur functions. When the relative commutation relations between a set of m parafermions and n parabosons are of ``relative parafermion type'', the underlying algebraic structure is the classical orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(2m+1|2n). The relative commutation relations can also be chosen differently, of ``relative paraboson type''. In this second case, the underlying algebraic structure is no longer an ordinary Lie superalgebra, but a Z_2 x Z_2$-graded Lie superalgebra, denoted here by pso(2m+1|2n). The identification of this new algebraic structure was performed by Tolstoy, amongst others. In the present paper, we investigate the subalgebra structure of pso(2m+1|2n). This allows us to study the parastatistics Fock spaces for this new set of m+n para-operators, as they correspond to lowest weight representations of pso(2m+1|2n). Our main result is the construction of these Fock spaces, with a complete labeling of the basis vectors and an explicit action of the para-operators on these basis vectors.

The spinor representations of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras osp(m|n) are considered and constructed. These are infinite-dimensional irreducible representations, of which the superdimension coincides with the dimension of the spinor representation of so(m-n). Next, we consider the self dual tensor representations of osp(m|n) and their generalizations: these are also infinite-dimensional and correspond to the highest irreducible component of the $p^{th}$ power of the spinor representation. We determine the character of these representations, and deduce a superdimension formula. From this, it follows that also for these representations the osp(m|n)~ so(m-n) correspondence holds.

A new, so called odd Gel'fand-Zetlin basis is introduced for the irreducible covariant tensor representations of the Lie superalgebra gl(n|n). The related Gel'fand-Zetlin patterns are based upon the decomposition according to a particular chain of subalgebras of gl(n|n). This chain contains only genuine Lie superalgebras of type gl(k|l) with k and l nonzero (apart from the final element of the chain which is gl(1|0)=gl(1)). Explicit expressions for a set of generators of the algebra on this Gel'fand-Zetlin basis are determined. The results are extended to an explicit construction of a class of irreducible highest weight modules of the general linear Lie superalgebra gl(\infty|\infty)., Comment: 21 pages

Generalized quantum statistics, such as paraboson and parafermion statistics, are characterized by triple relations which are related to Lie (super)algebras of type B. The correspondence of the Fock spaces of parabosons, parafermions as well as the Fock space of a system of parafermions and parabosons to irreducible representations of (super)algebras of type B will be pointed out. Example of generalized quantum statistics connected to the basic classical Lie superalgebra B(1|1)=osp(3|2) with interesting physical properties, such as noncommutative coordinates, will be given. An orthogonal basis of weight vectors for a class of infinite-dimensional representations of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(2m+1|2n) is introduced. These representations are particular lowest weight representations V(p), with a lowest weight of the form [-p/2,...,-p/2|p/2,...,p/2], p being a positive integer. Explicit expressions for the transformation of the basis under the action of algebra generators are found. Since the relations of algebra generators correspond to the defining relations of m pairs of parafermion operators and n pairs of paraboson operators with relative parafermion relations, the parastatistics Fock space of order p is also explicitly constructed. Furthermore, the representations V(p) are shown to have interesting characters in terms of supersymmetric Schur functions, and a simple character formula is also obtained., Comment: 15 pages

We introduce a pair of novel difference equations, whose solutions are expressed in terms of Racah or Wilson polynomials depending on the nature of the finite-difference step. A number of special cases and limit relations are also examined, which allow to introduce similar difference equations for the orthogonal polynomials of the $ _3 F_2$ and $ _2 F_1$ types. It is known that the defining triple relations of m pairs of parafermion operators and n pairs of paraboson operators with relative parafermion relations can be considered as defining relations for the Lie superalgebra osp(2m+1|2n) in terms of 2(m+n) generators. With the common Hermiticity conditions, this means that the parastatistics Fock space of order p corresponds to an infinite-dimensional unitary irreducible representation V(p) of osp(2m+1|2n), with lowest weight (-p/2,...,- p/|p/2,...,p/2). These representations (also in the simplest case m=n=1) had never been constructed due to computational difficulties, despite their importance. In the present paper we solve partially the problem in the general case using group theoretical techniques, in which the u(m|n) subalgebra of osp(2m+1|2n) plays a crucial role: a set of Gelfand-Zetlin patterns of u(m|n) can be used to label the basis vectors of V(p). An explicit and elegant construction of these representations V(p) for m=n=1, and the actions or matrix elements of the osp(3|2) generators are given.

We define the quadratic algebra su(2)_{\alpha} which is a one-parameter deformation of the Lie algebra su(2) extended by a parity operator. The odd-dimensional representations of su(2) (with representation label j, a positive integer) can be extended to representations of su(2)_{\alpha}. We investigate a model of the finite one-dimensional harmonic oscillator based upon this algebra su(2)_{\alpha}. It turns out that in this model the spectrum of the position and momentum operator can be computed explicitly, and that the corresponding (discrete) wavefunctions can be determined in terms of Hahn polynomials. The operation mapping position wavefunctions into momentum wavefunctions is studied, and this so-called discrete Hahn-Fourier transform is computed explicitly. The matrix of this discrete Hahn-Fourier transform has many interesting properties, similar to those of the traditional discrete Fourier transform.

A new model for the finite one-dimensional harmonic oscillator is proposed based upon the algebra u(2)_{\alpha}. This algebra is a deformation of the Lie algebra u(2) extended by a parity operator, with deformation parameter {\alpha}. A class of irreducible unitary representations of u(2)_{\alpha} is constructed. In the finite oscillator model, the (discrete) spectrum of the position operator is determined, and the position wave functions are shown to be dual Hahn polynomials. Plots of these discrete wave functions display interesting properties, similar to those of the parabose oscillator. We show indeed that in the limit, when the dimension of the representations goes to infinity, the discrete wave functions tend to the continuous wave functions of the parabose oscillator.

A Gel'fand-Zetlin basis is introduced for the irreducible covariant tensor representations of the Lie superalgebra gl(m|n). Explicit expressions for the generators of the Lie superalgebra acting on this basis are determined. Furthermore, Clebsch-Gordan coefficients corresponding to the tensor product of any covariant tensor representation of gl(m|n) with the natural representation V ([1,0,...,0]) of gl(m|n) with highest weight (1,0,. . . ,0) are computed. We introduce and obtain multimode paraboson coherent states. In appropriate subspaces these coherent states provide a decomposition of unity where the measure, when expressed using the cat-type states, is positive definite. Bicoherent states where the mutually commuting lowering operators are diagonalized are also obtained. Matrix elements in the coherent state basis are calculated.

The goal of this paper is to give an explicit construction of the Fock spaces of the parafermion and the paraboson algebra, for an infinite set of generators. This is equivalent to constructing certain unitary irreducible lowest weight representations of the (infinite rank) Lie algebra so(\infty) and of the Lie superalgebra osp(1|\infty). A complete solution to the problem is presented, in which the Fock spaces have basis vectors labelled by certain infinite but stable Gelfand-Zetlin patterns, and the transformation of the basis is given explicitly. We also present expressions for the character of the Fock space representations.

The defining relations (triple relations) of n pairs of parafermion operators f_j^\pm (j=1,...,n) are known to coincide with a set of defining relations for the Lie algebra so(2n+1) in terms of 2n generators. With the common Hermiticity conditions, this means that the ``parafermions of order p'' correspond to a finite-dimensional unitary irreducible representation W(p) of so(2n+1), with highest weight (p/2, p/2,..., p/2). Although the dimension and character of W(p) is known by classical formulas, there is no explicit basis of W(p) available in which the parafermion operators have a natural action. In this paper we construct an orthogonal basis for W(p), and we present the explicit actions of the parafermion generators on these basis vectors. We use group theoretical techniques, in which the u(n) subalgebra of so(2n+1) plays a crucial role: a set of Gelfand-Zetlin patterns of u(n) will be used to label the basis vectors of W(p), and also in the explicit action (matrix elements) certain u(n) Clebsch-Gordan coefficients are essential.

We describe a quantum system consisting of a one-dimensional linear chain of n identical harmonic oscillators coupled by a nearest neighbor interaction. Two boundary conditions are taken into account: periodic boundary conditions (where the nth oscillator is coupled back to the first oscillator) and fixed wall boundary conditions (where the first oscillator and the $n$th oscillator are coupled to a fixed wall). The two systems are characterized by their Hamiltonian. For their quantization, we treat these systems as Wigner Quantum Systems (WQS), allowing more solutions than just the canonical quantization solution. In this WQS approach, one is led to certain algebraic relations for operators (which are linear combinations of position and momentum operators) that should satisfy triple relations involving commutators and anti-commutators. These triple relations have a solution in terms of the Lie superalgebra gl(1|n). We study a particular class of gl(1|n) representations V(p), the so-called ladder representations. For these representations, we determine the spectrum of the Hamiltonian and of the position operators (for both types of boundary conditions). Furthermore, we compute the eigenvectors of the position operators in terms of stationary states. This leads to explicit expressions for position probabilities of the n oscillators in the chain. An analysis of the plots of such position probability distributions gives rise to some interesting observations. In particular, the physical behavior of the system as a WQS is very much in agreement with what one would expect from the classical case, except that all physical quantities (energy, position and momentum of each oscillator) have a finite spectrum.

It is known that the defining relations of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(1|2n) are equivalent to the defining (triple) relations of n pairs of paraboson operators $b^\pm_i$. In particular, with the usual star conditions, this implies that the ``parabosons of order p'' correspond to a unitary irreducible (infinite-dimensional) lowest weight representation V(p) of osp(1|2n). Apart from the simple cases p=1 or n=1, these representations had never been constructed due to computational difficulties, despite their importance. In the present paper we give an explicit and elegant construction of these representations V(p), and we present explicit actions or matrix elements of the osp(1|2n) generators. The orthogonal basis vectors of V(p) are written in terms of Gelfand-Zetlin patterns, where the subalgebra u(n) of osp(1|2n) plays a crucial role. Our results also lead to character formulas for these infinite-dimensional osp(1|2n) representations. Furthermore, by considering the branching $ osp(1|2n) \supset sp(2n) \supset u(n)$, we find explicit infinite-dimensional unitary irreducible lowest weight representations of sp(2n) and their characters., Comment: typos corrected

In a Wigner quantum mechanical model, with a solution in terms of the Lie superalgebra gl(1|n), one is faced with determining the eigenvalues and eigenvectors for an arbitrary self-adjoint odd element of gl(1|n) in any unitary irreducible representation W. We show that the eigenvalue problem can be solved by the decomposition of W with respect to the branching gl(1|n) --> gl(1|1) + gl(n-1). The eigenvector problem is much harder, since the Gel'fand-Zetlin basis of W is involved, and the explicit actions of gl(1|n) generators on this basis are fairly complicated. Using properties of the Gel'fand-Zetlin basis, we manage to present a solution for this problem as well. Our solution is illustrated for two special classes of unitary gl(1|n) representations: the so-called Fock representations and the ladder representations.

Generalized quantum statistics (GQS) associated to a Lie algebra or Lie superalgebra extends the notion of para-Bose or para-Fermi statistics. Such GQS have been classified for all classical simple Lie algebras and basic classical Lie superalgebras. In the current paper we finalize this classification for all exceptional Lie algebras and superalgebras. Since the definition of GQS is closely related to a certain Z-grading of the Lie (super)algebra G, our classification reproduces some known Z-gradings of exceptional Lie algebras. For exceptional Lie superalgebras such a classification of Z-gradings has not been given before., Comment: 22 pages

We consider a quantum system consisting of a one-dimensional chain of M identical harmonic oscillators with natural frequency $\omega$, coupled by means of springs. Such systems have been studied before, and appear in various models. In this paper, we approach the system as a Wigner Quantum System, not imposing the canonical commutation relations, but using instead weaker relations following from the compatibility of Hamilton's equations and the Heisenberg equations. In such a setting, the quantum system allows solutions in a finite-dimensional Hilbert space, with a discrete spectrum for all physical operators. We show that a class of solutions can be obtained using generators of the Lie superalgebra gl(1|M). Then we study the properties and spectra of the physical operators in a class of unitary representations of gl(1|M). These properties are both interesting and intriguing. In particular, we can give a complete analysis of the eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian and of the position and momentum operators (including multiplicities). We also study probability distributions of position operators when the quantum system is in a stationary state, and the effect of the position of one oscillator on the positions of the remaining oscillators in the chain.

An explicit construction of all finite-dimensional irreducible representations of the Lie superalgebra gl(1|n) in a Gel'fand-Zetlin basis is given. Particular attention is paid to the so-called star type I representations (``unitary representations''), and to a simple class of representations V(p), with p any positive integer. Then, the notion of Wigner Quantum Oscillators (WQOs) is recalled. In these quantum oscillator models, the unitary representations of gl(1|DN) are physical state spaces of the N-particle D-dimensional oscillator. So far, physical properties of gl(1|DN) WQOs were described only in the so-called Fock spaces W(p), leading to interesting concepts such as non-commutative coordinates and a discrete spatial structure. Here, we describe physical properties of WQOs for other unitary representations, including certain representations V(p) of gl(1|DN). These new solutions again have remarkable properties following from the spectrum of the Hamiltonian and of the position, momentum, and angular momentum operators. Formulae are obtained that give the angular momentum content of all the representations V(p) of gl(1|3N), associated with the N-particle 3-dimensional WQO. For these representations V(p) we also consider in more detail the spectrum of the position operators and their squares, leading to interesting consequences. In particular, a classical limit of these solutions is obtained, that is in agreement with the correspondence principle.

Para-Bose and para-Fermi statistics are known to be associated with representations of the Lie (super)algebras of class B. We consider the compatibility conditions for a N-particle D-dimensional Wigner quantum oscillator. These conditions can be rewritten as certain triple relations involving anticommutators, so it is natural to look for solutions in terms of Lie superalgebras. In the recent classification of ``generalized quantum statistics'' for the basic classical Lie superalgebras [math-ph/0504013], each such statistics is characterized by a set of creation and annihilation operators plus a set of triple relations. In the present letter, we investigate which cases of this classification also lead to solutions of the compatibility conditions. Generalized quantum statistics such as para-statistics is usually characterized by certain triple relations. In the case of para-Fermi statistics these relations can be associated with the orthogonal Lie algebra B_n=so(2n+1); in the case of para-Bose statistics they are associated with the Lie superalgebra B(0|n)=osp(1|2n). In a previous paper, a mathematical definition of ``a generalized quantum statistics associated with a classical Lie algebra G'' was given, and a complete classification was obtained. Here, we consider the definition of ``a generalized quantum statistics associated with a basic classical Lie superalgebra G''. Just as in the Lie algebra case, this definition is closely related to a certain Z-grading of G. We give in this paper a complete classification of all generalized quantum statistics associated with the basic classical Lie superalgebras A(m|n), B(m|n), C(n) and D(m|n).

We present the mathematical framework for a unified theory based upon su(1|5). The Lie superalgebra su(1|5) has irreducible representations of dimension 32, in which the 32 fundamental fermions of one generation (leptons and quarks, of left and right chirality, and their antiparticles) can be accommodated. The branching of these su(1|5) representations with respect to its subalgebra su(3) x su(2) x u(1) reproduces precisely the classification of these fundamental fermions according to the gauge group of the Standard Model. Generalized quantum statistics such as para-Fermi statistics is characterized by certain triple relations which, in the case of para-Fermi statistics, are related to the orthogonal Lie algebra B_n=so(2n+1). In this paper, we give a quite general definition of ``a generalized quantum statistics associated to a classical Lie algebra G''. This definition is closely related to a certain Z-grading of G. The generalized quantum statistics is then determined by a set of root vectors (the creation and annihilation operators of the statistics) and the set of algebraic relations for these operators. Then we give a complete classification of all generalized quantum statistics associated to the classical Lie algebras A_n, B_n, C_n and D_n. In the classification, several new classes of generalized quantum statistics are described.

An n-particle 3-dimensional Wigner quantum oscillator model is constructed explicitly. It is non-canonical in that the usual coordinate and linear momentum commutation relations are abandoned in favour of Wigner's suggestion that Hamilton's equations and the Heisenberg equations are identical as operator equations. The construction is based on the use of Fock states corresponding to a family of irreducible representations of the Lie superalgebra sl(1|3n) indexed by an A-superstatistics parameter p. These representations are typical for p\geq 3n but atypical for p<3n. The branching rules for the restriction from sl(1|3n) to gl(1) \oplus so(3) \oplus sl(n) are used to enumerate energy and angular momentum eigenstates. These are constructed explicitly and tabulated for n\leq 2. It is shown that measurements of the coordinates of the individual particles gives rise to a set of discrete values defining nests in the 3-dimensional configuration space. The fact that the underlying geometry is non-commutative is shown to have a significant impact on measurements of particle separation. In the atypical case, exclusion phenomena are identified that are entirely due to the effect of A-superstatistics. The microscopic and the macroscopic properties of A-superstatistics, related to the class A(0,n-1)\equiv sl(1|n) of simple Lie superalgebras are investigated. The algebra sl(1|n) is described in terms of generators f_1^\pm, >..., f_n^\pm, which satisfy certain triple relations and are called Jacobson generators. The Fock spaces of A-superstatistics are investigated and the Pauli principle of the corresponding statistics is formulated. Some thermal properties of A-superstatistics are constructed under the assumption that the particles interact only via statistical interaction imposed by the Pauli principle. The grand partition function and the average number of particles are written down explicitly in the general case and in two particular examples: 1) the particles have one and the same energy and chemical potential; 2) the energy spectrum of the orbitals is equidistant., Comment: 26 pages, 3 figures

The properties of a non-canonical 3D Wigner quantum oscillator, whose position and momentum operators generate the Lie superalgebra sl(1|3), are further investigated. Within each state space W(p), p=1,2,..., the energy E_q, q=0,1,2,3, takes no more than 4 different values. If the oscillator is in a stationary state \psi_q\in W(p) then measurements of the non-commuting Cartesian coordinates of the particle are such that their allowed values are consistent with it being found at a finite number of sites, called ``nests''. These lie on a sphere centered on the origin of fixed, finite radius \varrho_q. The nests themselves are at the vertices of a rectangular parallelepiped. In the typical cases (p>2) the number of nests is 8 for q=0 and 3, and varies from 8 to 24, depending on the state, for q=1 and 2. The number of nests is less in the atypical cases (p=1,2), but it is never less than two. In certain states in W(2) (resp. in W(1)) the oscillator is ``polarized'' so that all the nests lie on a plane (resp. on a line). The particle cannot be localized in any one of the available nests alone since the coordinates do not commute. The probabilities of measuring particular values of the coordinates are discussed. It is shown that the Clifford superalgebra Cl(n|m) generated by m pairs of Bose operators (odd elements) anticommuting with n pairs of Fermi operators (even elements) can be deformed to Cl_q(n|m) such that the latter is a homomorphic image of the quantum superalgebra U_q[osp(2n+1|2m)]. The Fock space F(n|m) of Cl_q(n|m) is constructed. At q being a root of unity (q=\exp ({i\pi l/k})) q-bosons (and q-fermions) are operators acting in a finite-dimensional subspace F_{l/k}(n|m) of F(n|m). Each F_{l/k}(n|m) is turned through the above mentioned homomorphism into an irreducible (root of unity) U_q[osp(2n+1|2m)] module. For q being a primitive root of unity (l=1) the corresponding representation is unitary. The module F_{1/k}(n|m) is decomposed into a direct sum of irreducible U_q[sl(m|n)] submodules. The matrix elements of all Cartan-Weyl elements of U_q[sl(m|n)] are given within each such submodule., Comment: 15 pages

As an alternative to Chevalley generators, we introduce Jacobson generators for the quantum superalgebra $U_q[sl(n+1|m)]$. The expressions of all Cartan-Weyl elements of $U_q[sl(n+1|m)]$ in terms of these Jacobson generators become very simple. We determine and prove certain triple relations between the Jacobson generators, necessary for a complete set of supercommutation relations between the Cartan-Weyl elements. Fock representations are defined, and a substantial part of this paper is devoted to the computation of the action of Jacobson generators on basis vectors of these Fock spaces. It is also determined when these Fock representations are unitary. Finally, Dyson and Holstein-Primakoff realizations are given, not only for the Jacobson generators, but for all Cartan-Weyl elements of $U_q[sl(n+1|m)]$., Comment: 27 pages, LaTeX; to be published in J. We present three groups of examples of Wigner Quantum Systems related to the Lie superalgebras $osp(1/6n)$, $sl(1/3n)$ and $sl(n/3)$ and discuss shortly their physical features.
