24 december 2019, Contains fulltext : 214796.pdf (publisher's version ) (Open Access), In this mixed methods study, a moderated mediation model predicting effects of leader-member exchange (LMX) and organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB) on innovative work behaviors, with employability as a mediator, has been tested. Multi-source data from 487 pairs of employees and supervisors working in 151 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) supported our hypothesized model. The results of structural equation modelling provide support for our model. In particular, the benefits of close relationships and high-quality exchanges between employee and supervisor (LMX), and fostering individual development as a result of employees’ OCB have an indirect effect on innovative work behaviors through positive effects on workers’ employability. Innovative work behaviors depend on employees’ knowledge, skills, and expertise. In other words, enhancing workers’ employability nurtures innovative work behaviors. In addition, we found a moderation effect of organizational politics on the relationship between employability and innovative work behaviors. Secondly, qualitative methods focusing on experiences of the antecedents and outcomes of employability were used to complement our quantitative results. All in all, this study has important consequences for managerial strategies and practices in SMEs and call for an awareness of the dysfunctional effect of perceived organizational politics.

Sustainable development is a worldwide recognized social and political goal, discussed in both academic and political discourse and with much research on the topic related to sustainable development in higher education. Since mental models are formed more effectively at school age, we propose a new way of thinking that will help achieve this goal. The authors undertook this study in the context of Russia, where the topic of sustainable development in education has been yet poorly developed. The authors used the classical methodology of the case analysis. The analysis and interpretation of the results employed the framework of the institutional theory. Presented is the case of Ural Federal University, which has been working for several years on the creation of a device for the purification of industrial sewer water in the framework of an initiative student group. Schoolchildren recently joined the program, and such projects have been called university-to-school projects. Successful solutions for inventive tasks contribute to the formation of mental models. This case has been analyzed in terms of institutionalism, and the authors argue for the primacy of mental institutions over normative ones during sustainable society construction. This case study is the first to analyze a partnership between a Federal University and local schools regarding sustainable education and proposes a new way of thinking.

This paper focuses on the topical and problematic area of social innovations. The aim of this paper is to develop an original approach to the allocation of social innovations, taking into account characteristics such as the degree of state participation, the scope of application, the type of initiations as well as the degree of novelty, which will be elaborated on further in this article. In order to achieve this goal, the forty-two most successful social innovations were identified and systematized. The results of this study demonstrated that 73.5% of social innovations are privately funded, most of them operating on an international level with a high degree of novelty. Moreover, 81% of all social innovations are civic initiatives. Social innovations play an important role in the growth of both developed and less developed countries alike as highlighted in our extensive analysis. © 2016 Evgeny Popov, Jol Stoffers, Zhoomart Omonov and Anna Veretennikova.

Das akustische Filterverhalten des Ansatzrohrs kann durch Parameter der Vokaltraktresonanzen charakterisiert werden und erlaubt die Unterscheidung regelrechter und pathologischer Klangformung. Auf nicht-invasive Art werden mithilfe der LPC-Methode (engl. linear predictive coding) die aus den Filter- bzw. Resonanzeigenschaften des Vokaltrakts resultierenden Energiemaxima im Spektrum (Formanten) des Sprachsignals bestimmt. Diese Methode ist bereits im klinischen Alltag erprobt; sie wurde in mehreren klinischen Studien bei Patienten mit intraoralen Tumoren u.a. mit dem Ziel angewendet, akustische Eigenschaften und pathologische Gewebeveränderungen miteinander zu verknüpfen, z.B. . Da die LPC-Methode auf ein stabiles Glottissignal angewiesen ist, ist sie nicht geeignet, bei Patienten mit Dysphonie oder bei fehlender Stimmfunktion die Filtereigenschaften des Vokaltrakts zu charakterisieren. Bei der Impedanzmethode , , wird der Vokaltrakt nicht von den Stimmlippen, sondern mittels eines synthetisierten Schallsignals vom Mund aus angeregt. Die Methode ist somit unabhängig von der Qualität des glottal erzeugten Stimmsignals. In diesem Beitrag wird die Anwendung beider Methoden bei 35 weiblichen und 46 männlichen stimm- und sprechgesunden Probanden sowie bei 12 Patienten mit Artikulationsstörungen beschrieben. Der Vergleich der LPC- und Impedanzanalyseverfahren zeigt eine hohe Übereinstimmung der Ergebnisse für die Gruppe der Probanden. Bei Patienten mit Artikulationsstörungen konnten signifikante Abweichungen in der Resonanzstruktur nachgewiesen werden.

In the present paper, we explored the role of patients in the feasibility of cardiovascular preventive care in general practice. Patient-related barriers were examined by means of a qualitative study. Fifteen GPs audio-taped one or two consultations on primary cardiovascular preventive care. The tapes were used to guide the subsequent semi-structured in-depth interviews with patients. Twenty-two patients were interviewed. Patients' understanding of prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD) was often insufficient. The risk table and the multi-factorial approach were difficult to understand. Risk perception was often unrealistic and dichotomous, and mainly based on personal experiences. There was a demand for more information and cholesterol tests. At the patient level, many barriers impede effective prevention of cardiovascular diseases. In particular, the highly individualized high-risk approach needs to be explained to patients. Educational patient materials, intended to support both the GP and the patient, should take into account the ideas, fears and expectations of patients.
