Abstract

Die Wahl der richtigen Markenstrategie ist einer der zentralen Erfolgsfaktoren bei der Einführung neuer Produkte. Diese werden in der betrieblichen Praxis oftmals nicht unter einer neuen eigenständigen Marke sondern unter einer im Markt bereits etab-lierten und beim Verbraucher bekannten Marke eingeführt. Hierbei müssen sowohl die Auswirkungen auf das neue Produkt als auch die Folgen für die verwendete Mar-ke berücksichtigt werden. Grundlage für einen erfolgreichen Einsatz der Marken-transferstrategie ist daher das Wissen über zentrale Einflussfaktoren auf die Verbraucherwahrnehmung und -beurteilung des Transferproduktes und des Mar-kenimages. Stephan Günther stellt den aktuellen Forschungsstand zum Markentransfer syste-matisch dar und unterzieht ihn einer kritischen Beurteilung. Er analysiert die unter-schiedlichen Erklärungsansätze und Erfolgsfaktoren und präsentiert ein theoretisch fundiertes Modell zur Verbraucherwahrnehmung und -beurteilung von Markentrans-fers, das die zentralen Einflussfaktoren aufzeigt und ihre Wirkungszusammenhänge verdeutlicht.

8. Quality of multiple trauma care in 33 German and Swiss trauma centers during a 5-year period: regular versus on-call service

Abstract

Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate process and outcome quality of severely injured patients admitted during on-call (OC) versus regular trauma service (RS). Methods: This was a prospective and multicentric analysis of the Trauma Registry of the German Trauma Society. Patients were evaluated if directly admitted from the scene of accident with an Injury Severity Score of > 15 and if alive on arrival at the emergency department. Results: Seventy percent of patients were admitted during OC; these patients were significantly younger. Blunt trauma predominated, with a 95% incidence. Falls from great heights were significantly more frequent during RS, whereas motor vehicle crashes predominated during OC. No differences were found for emergency department management (e.g., time to abdominal ultrasound, chest radiograph, or cranial computed tomography). However, time to admission to the intensive care unit was substantially longer during RS. No significant differences were found for outcome parameters such as length of intensive care unit stay, hospitalization time, incidence of organ failure, or mortality. Conclusion: This study demonstrates a constant quality of care provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week in the participating hospitals. Differences within individual trauma centers were not compared and need to be assessed by internal quality management.

10. Involvement of specific chromosomes in radiation-induced rearrangements detected by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH)

Abstract

We investigated the involvement of chromosomes in dicentrics and translocations in human peripheral blood lymphocytes exposed to X-rays in vitro. Chromosomes 2, 4, 8, 13, 15, 16, and 22 were analyzed in three cocktails of different combinations using whole chromosome probes (WCP) with the fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH)-painting technique. The results showed overexpression of chromosomes 2, 8, and 22in translocation, the majority being of the complete type. Chromosome 4 was underrepresented in translocation formation in both combinations, that is, 2 + 4 + 8 in cocktail I and 4 + 13 + 22 in cocktail II.Its participation in dicentric production was in good agreement withits DNA content in association with 2, 4, and 8, whereas it was underexpressed in the combination of 4 + 13 + 22. :DNA-proportional involvement was noticed with chromosomes 13 and 16 in all exchange aberrations. Underexpression of chromosome 15 was observed in translocation,which is contradictory to its overexpression in dicentric formation.The participation of chromosome 22 was predominant for both translocations and dicentrics, compared with its DNA content. The overall observation of our study supports the assumption of DNA-proportional distribution of Lucas et al.1 However, more data are requiredfor chromosomes 4, 8, 15, and 22 in combination with other chromosomes.
