Deze handleiding hoort bij de Routekaart Bijenlandschap.

Deze routekaart is bedoeld voor organisaties die zich willen inzetten voor een bij-vriendelijk landschap. De routekaart bestaat uit een overzicht van succesfactoren voor het omvormen van een gebied naar een ‘Bijenlandschap’. Er wordt daarbij onderscheid gemaakt in verschillende fases van netwerkvorming en in verschillende soorten ‘opbrengsten’ van een Bijenlandschap.

Deze brochure, gefinancierd door het ministerie van LNV, richt zich op de vastgoedsector en gaat in op de noodzaak van een transitie naar een natuurinclusief stedelijk gebied en de rol die de vastgoedsector hierin kan spelen.

As environmental challenges and their management are increasingly recognised as complex and uncertain, the concept of ecosystem services has emerged from within scientific communities and is gaining influence within policy communities. To better understand how this concept can be turned into practice we examine knowledge needs from the perspective of the different stakeholders directly engaged with the operationalisation of ecosystem systems concept within ten socio-ecologically different case studies from different countries, levels of governance and ecosystems.We identify four different but interrelated areas of knowledge needs, namely; (i) needs related to develop a common understanding, (ii) needs related to the role of formal and informal institutions in shaping action on the ground, (iii) needs related to linking knowledge and action, and (iv) and needs related to accessible and easy to use methods and tools. These findings highlight the need to view knowledge as a process which is orientated towards action. We discuss the potential to develop transdisciplinary research approaches and the development of tools and methods explicitly as boundary objects in the ecosystem service science community to develop more collaborative practices with other stakeholders and facilitate the operationalisation of the concept of ecosystem services across contexts.

Waterschappen, provincies, waterbedrijven en andere partijen werken vaak samen aan ruimtelijke plannen voor de inrichting van het landelijk gebied. De optimalisering van de waterhuishouding voor landbouw en natuur speelt in zulke plannen meestal een cruciale rol. De vraag is echter of daarbij voldoende rekening wordt gehouden met de mogelijke gevolgen van de veranderingen in het klimaat. Deze worden vooral onderzocht door wetenschappers op universiteiten en kennisinstituten, die zich doorgaans weinig bekommeren om gebiedsprocessen. In de provincie Gelderland zijn wetenschappers en mensen uit het veld onlangs samengekomen om de gevolgen van het warmer en grilliger wordende klimaat in kaart te brengen en na te denken over adaptieve maatregelen voor twee gebieden: Blauwe Bron en Baakse Beek.

Dit rapport schetst een beeld van de gewenste situatie voor een duurzame landbouw, gericht op het terugdringen van het insecticidengebruik. Dit schetsboek geeft aan hoe groenblauwe dooradering zodanig ingericht en aangelegd kan worden, dat zij bijdraagt aan een natuurlijke plaagonderdrukking.

Within the framework of the Dutch Priority Program on Acidification, 10 yr of research was conducted in a Douglas fir stand at Speulder forest. Research was conducted to establish the loads and levels of acidifying and eutrophying pollutants and ozone, to determine forest vitality characteristics and follow growth parameters and nutrient status in time and to determine the effects of reduction of loads and levels by manipulation experiments. Results indicate that during the last 20 yr critical levels for air pollutants have hardly been exceeded except for ozone, which slightly affected assimilation. Elevated nitrogen deposition has caused several adverse effects including (i) inhibited mycorrhizal development, leading to a decreased base cation and phosphorus uptake; (ii) elevated foliage/root (fine and coarse) ratios, making the forest more sensitive to drought and windthrow; (iii) elevated nitrogen and arginine concentrations in the foliage, associated with relative base cation and phosphorus deficiency, and (iv) elevated nitrate leaching polluting the groundwater. High inputs of acidity have caused elevated ratios of Al to base cations, affecting fine root (uptake) and depletion of the readily available Al pool, thus affecting the long-term sustainability. Despite these effects, forest vitality, in terms of defoliation/discoloration, is reasonable and forest growth even increased in response to nitrogen. The exceedances of critical loads for nitrogen and acidity, however, implies a (large) risk for the long-term sustainability of the Speulder forest.

In deze powerpoint presentatie wordt Speerpunt 3 'Gebiedskunde en kennisbenutting' nader toegelicht. Speerpunt 3 maak deel uit van het cluster KB-01 'Inrichting en gebruik groene en blauwe ruimte'. Wetenschappelijke kennis verhoogt de kwaliteit van gebiedsplannen, maar wordt in de praktijk nog te weinig gebruikt. In dit speerpunt wordt op zoek gegaan naar mogelijkheden de kennisuitwisseling tussen wetenschap en praktijk te verbeteren. Dit speerpunt ontwikkelt kennis over de voorwaarden voor kennisbenutting
