- Abstract
Employing concepts from physics, chemistry and bioengineering, 'learning-by-building' approaches are becoming increasingly popular in the life sciences, especially with researchers who are attempting to engineer cellular life from scratch. The SynCell2020/21 conference brought together researchers from different disciplines to highlight progress in this field, including areas where synthetic cells are having socioeconomic and technological impact. Conference participants also identified the challenges involved in designing, manipulating and creating synthetic cells with hierarchical organization and function. A key conclusion is the need to build an international and interdisciplinary research community through enhanced communication, resource-sharing, and educational initiatives.

This paper provides an overview of the application of social networks in Serbian entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Social networks have become a necessary marketing tool in business since their inception for scientific and social purposes. There is almost no business branch that operates without the use of social networks, as an auxiliary or basic marketing tool. In Serbia, social networks have experienced significant expansion in recent years, and everyday life is almost unimaginable without platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Entrepreneurship in Serbia heavily relies on social networks for marketing and operational purposes. On the other hand, the entrepreneurial ecosystem is a term that has attracted a lot of attention from scientists and researchers in the last ten years. The main goal of entrepreneurship is to create an economic and social system that enables business growth and development, which will also contribute to the economic prosperity of the country. Entrepreneurial ecosystems encompass a broader concept, intertwining entrepreneurs, organizations, individuals, and institutions at the national level to support and catalyze entrepreneurship development collectively or systemically. The aim of this paper is to elucidate the concept of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Serbia and demonstrate the use of social networks for its growth and development in the modern business environment.

Objective To evaluate the responsiveness in terms of correlation of the Hospital Universitario La Princesa Index (HUPI) comparatively to the traditional composite indices used to assess disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and to compare the performance of HUPI-based response criteria with that of the EULAR response criteria. Methods Secondary data analysis from the following studies: ACT-RAY (clinical trial), PROAR (early RA cohort) and EMECAR (pre-biologic era long term RA cohort). Responsiveness was evaluated by: 1) comparing change from baseline (Delta) of HUPI with Delta in other scores by calculating correlation coefficients; 2) calculating standardised effect sizes. The accuracy of response by HUPI and by EULAR criteria was analyzed using linear regressions in which the dependent variable was change in global assessment by physician (Delta GDA-Phy). Results Delta HUPI correlation with change in all other indices ranged from 0.387 to 0.791); HUPI's standardized effect size was larger than those from the other indices in each database used. In ACT-RAY, depending on visit, between 65 and 80% of patients were equally classified by HUPI and EULAR response criteria. However, HUPI criteria were slightly more stringent, with higher percentage of patients classified as non-responder, especially at early visits. HUPI response criteria showed a slightly higher accuracy than EULAR response criteria when using Delta GDA-Phy as gold standard. Conclusion HUPI shows good responsiveness in terms of correlation in each studied scenario (clinical trial, early RA cohort, and established RA cohort). Response criteria by HUPI seem more stringent than EULAR's., Our study was supported by grants RD16/0012/0011 and PI14/00442 from the Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad (Instituto de Salud Carlos III; Spain) and cofunded by the Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER). Data from ACT-RAY clinical trial were kindly provided by Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. No financial support was received from Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd Data from EMECAR and PROAR cohorts were provided by the Spanish Society of Rheumatology. No financial support was received from the Spanish Society of Rheumatology. None of these institutions played any role in the analysis or interpretation of data, nor were they involved in the writing of the manuscript. Roche and Sociedad Espanola de Reumatologia were involved in the collection of data from ACT-RAY, and EMECAR and PROAR, respectively. A new method for the accurate measurement of safety rod drop times is proposed. It is based on a fast electromagnetic transducer and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) connected to a computer system. Evaluation of recorded data is conducted by a developed computer codes. The first measurements performed at the HERBE fast-thermal RB reactor show that a relative uncertainty (confidence level 95%) of less than 6% can be achieved in determination of rod drop time (with time intervals ranging from 0.4-10.0 s). Further improvements in accuracy are possible.

The application of innovative technologies that foster smart production resources’ interconnectivity alongside the virtual space that facilities to support process simulation makes the technology factor become the center of Industry 4.0. The production process modeling and simulation can be used to facilitate flexibility and automation of a shop floor. In our previous research, we have created a Domain-Specific Modeling Language (DSML) named MultiProLan, aiming to create production process models suitable for the automatic generation of executable code that enables the automatic execution of production processes. As the next step, we have proposed research on a DSML language aimed at Industry 4.0 human worker modeling. Industry 4.0 still considers workers as a cost, while favoring technological aspects over the workers’ wellbeing. Industry 5.0 complements Industry 4.0, focusing on a human-centric approach that puts core human needs and interests at the top of production processes. Based on our research proposal, here we present a blueprint of the HResModLan DSML prototype aimed at the formal specification of a human worker within Industry 5.0. Presented abstract and concrete syntaxes of the language are tested on a case study of a furniture factory to demonstrate whether they are a good base for the further development of the HResModLan language.

Transitional justice has emerged to address victims' needs as a means of restoring relations broken by violence. Yet we know little about victims' attitudes towards different transitional justice mechanisms. Why do some victims prioritize retributive justice while others favor other forms of dealing with the violent past? What determines victims' attitudes towards transitional justice policies? To address these questions, we offer a new theoretical framework that draws upon recent insights from the field of evolutionary psychology and links both war exposure and postwar environments to transitional justice preferences. We argue that both past experiences of wartime violence and present-day social interdependence with perpetrators impact transitional justice preferences, but in divergent ways (resulting in greater support for retributive vs. restorative justice measures, respectively). To test our framework, we rely upon a 2013 representative survey of 1,007 respondents focusing on general population attitudes towards transitional justice in Bosnia two decades after the implementation of the Dayton Accords. Specifically, we examine the impact of displacement, return to prewar homes, loss of property, loss of a loved one, physical injury, imprisonment, and torture on attitudes towards transitional justice. On the whole, our findings confirm our two main hypotheses: Exposure to direct violence and losses is associated with more support for retributive justice measures, while greater present-day interdependence with perpetrators is associated with more support for restorative justice measures. While acknowledging the legacy of wartime violence, we highlight the importance of the postwar context and institutional mechanisms that support victims in reconstructing their lives.

This paper examines physical activity and exercise as used for the health of the ancient Greeks. Records and testimonies from philosophers, trainers, physicians, athletes... guided people toward improving vitality through exercise. These sources contain historical facts relating to the maintenance of individual physical, psychological, social and affective health through movement and exercise. Conclusions about the continuous relationship between direct physical activity and exercise (PAE) and physical exercise and health (PEH) were reached through multifaceted analysis (historical, comparative, causal, semantic) and synthesis, as well as inductive and deductive reasoning. The subject of this paper is the common-sense recognition and deliberation on the significance of PAE for human health during the paleo society, its problematisation and application in practice leading to PEH. The starting premise is cognitively provocative, referring to the origins and utility of paleo science and practice in today's understanding and practice of PAE and PEH. Paleo philosophers believed that PAE, only in optimal amounts, i.e., the "measure of common-sense moderation, " can have a beneficial, positive effect on a healthy lifestyle for humans/athletes. Their frequent critical views on deviations from the common-sense essence of PEH were directed towards preserving the benefits of a healthy lifestyle-PEH. They believed that common sense (bon sens) represents the fundamental axiom for the development of "practical science, " through which the problems of the life of an individual, society and nature were understood, solved, and guided. Philosophers, physicians, and trainers were the most knowledgeable about the importance of PAE for a healthy lifestyle of an individual in ancient Greece! The second premise, although sporadically considered in this paper, contains meaning and expression for provoking modern science and practice of PAE and PEH, pointing out that there is a current tendency of individuals to relinquish the common-sense nature of exercise in favour of personal prophylaxis. The conclusion is that despite sometimes "aggressive" efforts of the society to institutionalise PAE to PEH, individuals continue to seek the factors of health, sustainability and survival (conditio humana). Although direct and simple life activity, PEH appears to be an unknown determinant of the quality of life, as if theories on nature and nurture in human development through PAE are not truthful.

Modern diagnostics of athlete preparation involves the acquisition ofalargenumberof data, whichrequiressuperiorknowledge, serious logistics, protocols, staff, time, etc. Technological breakthroughs in surface electromyography (sEMG) in measuring the activities of respiratory muscles in vivo opened new possibilities in this direction. The correlation between physical preparedness and the ability to maintain breath has been a theoretical phenomenon for over a century. The result at the duration of the breath holding time (BHT) is generally considered a positive indicator of the volume of respiratory capacity during physical activity. Experimental research determined involuntary activities of auxiliary respiratory musculature at the end of the quiet retention of breath and are determined as a physiological break point of breath holding. The time from the start of the breath holding to the first involuntary breathing movement (IBM) is called the control pause (CP). Since this time is not the physiological maximum of breath holding, it is very important to determine the exact moment of reaching the first IBM and the time-frequency characteristics of sEMG signals during the IBM phase (work problem). Using Wavelet methodology, the analysis of sEMG signals is performed on three skeletal muscles, two inhaling (M. Scalenus - Anterior et Medium - SC, and M. Parasternal Intercostales-IC) and one exhalatory (M. Rectus abdominis - Ra), that in addition to others, have auxiliary role and function in the respiratory cycle, and that are sensitive to physiological changes due to apnea, so in their neuromotor response are a possible indicator of metabolic processes that are detected as involuntary breathing movements. Multiple growths in the electrical activity of these muscles during IBM in certain frequency ranges have enabled precise IBM measurement, thus determining the physiologically acceptable duration of the CP. Observation and analysis of the specific respiratory and muscular response indicate dominations of hypoxic or hypercapnic metabolic condition (subject of research). Based on monitoring these changes in 12 subjects classified in the group categorized amateur athletes, it was determined that better-trained subjects have longer CP and react hypercapnically. The conclusions of this non-experimental case study correspond to the practice of training preparation but open the space for new research, primarily those who should develop an affordable method for non-invasive realtime physical preparation.

This paper considers direct mobile-to-mobile (M2M) communications with a dual antenna selection (AS) system at a destination mobile node (DMN) in interference limited, dissimilar composite fading environments. In particular, we model dissimilar interference limited signals at the inputs of the dual branch AS system as (i) the ratio of two Nakagami-m (N) random variables (RVs) at the first branch and (ii) the ratio of two Rice RVs at the second branch, in order to account for non line-of-sight (NLOS) and line-of-sight (LOS) communications, respectively. Moreover, we assume variable powers of the desired as well as interference signals at the output of the DMN in order to account for the impact of shadowing. For the proposed model, we derive probability density functions, cumulative distribution functions, outage probabilities and average level crossing rates. The derived statistical results are evaluated for all the statistical measures considered and are graphically presented in order to provide insight into the impact of composite fading severities and LOS factors for the desired signal, as well as for the interference, on the system performances.

The purpose of the study was to determine the morphological and functional characteristics of 32 Serbian national U20 handball players (age 20.43 +/- 1.16 y; training experience 8.12 +/- 1.89 y) before European championship in Switzerland (2006) and to determinate their impact on competitive performance and outstanding success achieved. The results show that wing players differ from other players in morphological characteristics. Values for body height, weight, BMI, muscle mass and fat mass were significantly lower compared to the other playing positions. Extremely low values of maximal oxygen uptake (VO2 max) were measured in all players (ranged from 2.68 to 4.66 l x min(-1)). Pivots had the highest VO2 max in absolute values (3.76 l x min(-1)), and wing players in relative terms (40.83 ml x kg(-1) x min(-1)). Handball is characterized by high intensity intermittent play, followed by a number of walking breaks and quick substitutions. This makes possible to retain high playing intensity during whole match, because players can be given rest periods whenever needed. This will result in a high intensity game that does not necessarily require high VO2 max. Competitive success in modern top-level handball might be more reliant on optimal tactical preparation than on the body composition and VO2 max of an individual athlete.

Background Prostate cancer is a leading disease affecting men worldwide. Conflicting evidence within the literature provides little guidance to men contemplating whether or not to be screened for prostate cancer. This systematic review aimed to determine whether decision aids about early detection of prostate cancer improve patient knowledge and decision making about whether to undergo prostate‐specific antigen testing. Methods Medline, EMBASE, CINAHL, PsychINFO, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects and Health Technology Assessment databases up until March 2014 were searched. All included randomised controlled trials were assessed for methodological quality. Clinical selection and assessment heterogeneity among studies prevented the pooling of data for meta‐analyses. Descriptive analyses of all included studies and comparison were performed. Results A total of 13 randomised controlled trials met the inclusion criteria. Significant heterogeneity was present for the design and implementation of decision aids including comparative interventions and outcomes. Eight studies were of a low methodological quality, with the remaining five of medium quality. Improvements in patient knowledge following use of a decision aid were demonstrated by 11 of the 13 included studies. Seven of 10 studies demonstrated a reduction in decisional conflict/distress. Three of four studies demonstrated no difference between a decision aid and information only in reducing decisional uncertainty. Three of five studies demonstrated an increase in decisional satisfaction with use of a decision aid. Conclusions Decision aids increase patient knowledge and confidence in decision making about prostate cancer testing. Further research into effective methods of implementation is needed.

This paper discusses the body of an athlete (sport), ancient Greek sculpture (history of art), digital environment (digital devices - new technologies) and sports marketing (new information systems in business) thus enabling support to different approaches to the system of knowledge in each of the given disciplines. The interdisciplinary (pluralistic) approach opens a possibility to expand not only knowledge, but the scientific awareness as well. The subject of the paper focuses on the phenomenon of the 'permanent record' of sculptures whose theme refers to the events related to an athlete's body in the period of Ancient Greece. Owing to its values, the contents of these masterpieces have had a beneficial effect as they influenced the art of each subsequent period of civilization and are preserved for the future. In the course of a more detailed research and analysis of the history of heritage, new knowledge has been gained that can contribute to the general benefit of the society that we live in. In the digital world, 3D computer animation takes up a very important place within the mass and popular media thus becoming not only the guardian of the heritage of ancient Greece sculptural art depicting the bodies of athletes, but also one of the integral parts of today's general culture, which is mostly used in the promotion of marketing in sports. It is thought that this paper can be inspiring for others in generating new original ideas towards further research.

This research study focuses on the male and female nicknames recorded in the village Donji Ljubeš, located near Aleksinac. The nicknames are analysed from the aspect of motivation and classified into twelve groups. Criteria to determine the motivation were received from local residents. In this field research, 160 personal nicknames were collected. There are 139 male and 21 female nicknames. As a contribution to the work, a dictionary of nicknames was compiled. The collected material was accentually and semantically processed. Considering that the research of this kind in the area of Aleksinačko Pomoravlje is in deficit, this study can significantly contribute to the onomastics of the given area.

Background: No study has compared allergic sensitization patterns in infants with atopic eczema from different countries. The aim of this study was to investigate the patterns of allergic sensitization in a cohort of infants with atopic eczema participating in a multicentre, international study. Methods: Two thousand one hundred and eighty-four infants (mean age 17.6 months) with atopic eczema from allergic families were screened in 94 centres in 12 countries to participate in a randomized trial for the early prevention of asthma. Clinical history, Severity Scoring of Atopic Dermatitis Index, measurements for total serum IgE and specific IgE antibodies to eight food and inhalant allergens were entered into a database before randomization to treatment. A history of type of feeding in the first weeks of life and exposure to animals was recorded. Results: A total of 52.9% of the infants had raised total IgE, and 55.5% were sensitized to at least one allergen. There was a wide difference in the total IgE values and in the sensitization rates to foods and aeroallergens among infants from different countries. The highest prevalence rates of allergen-sensitized infants were found in Australia (83%), the UK (79%) and Italy (76%). Infants from Belgium and Poland consistently had the lowest sensitization rates. In each country, a characteristic pattern of sensitization was found for aeroallergens (house dust mite > cat > grass pollen > Alternaria), but not for food allergens. Conclusions: In infants with atopic eczema, there is a wide variation in the pattern of allergic sensitization between countries, and data from one country are not necessarily generalizable to other countries.

- Abstract
Reactor physics deals with theoretical and applied investigations with the aim to use the obtained results in nuclear engineering for designing, building and safe operating of nuclear reactors. Among scientific and engineering disciplines, commonly named nuclear technologies, reactor physics is a discipline that directly stems from nuclear sciences and it has not had an analogue base in the standard technologies. The basic studies cover theoretical and experimental determination of static and dynamic parameters of fission systems, burn up of nuclear fuel, investigation of parameters of nuclear engineering materials, prediction of behaviour of fission systems during probable accidents and estimation of their consequences. The basic and roadmap of development in reactor physics and engineering in Serbia during the second half of the 20th century are given in this paper. Introduction/Objective. Numerous studies on surface electromyographic (sEMG) signals in response to different respiratory parameters, particularly on sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscles and diaphragm (DIA), indicated the promising advantages of their simultaneous monitoring with possible applications in the analysis of their correlation. This motivated а detailed statistical analysis of the average power (PAV) on sEMG signals during prolonged breath-holding, simultaneously measured in the SCM and DIA areas. Methods. The physiological breath-holding method was applied to 30 healthy volunteers, with sEMG of SCM and DIA regions measured before, during, and after the breath-holding exercise. All the subjects were sitting in an upward position, with nostrils closed by the right index finger and thumb during breath-hold. To synchronize the records, the user would press a special switch using the other hand at the beginning and at the end of breath-holding experiment. The average power of sEMG (PAV) was measured for each 500 ms signal window. Results. The PAV remains constant before and 3 seconds after the exercise. During the ending of breathholding, at least one region had the PAV afflux of a minimum of 91%. Student’s t-test between SCM signals shows a significant difference of p < 0.001, while the DIA lacks it. Although the results showed that SCM is the dominant region in 76.67% of cases, the exclusive PAV afflux in the DIA region was detected in precisely five cases (16.67% of the total namber of participants). Conclusions. Our research concludes that there is the necessity of simultaneous measurement of SCM and DIA to observe dominant changes in sEMG during breath-holding. The physiological response of the respiratory center can be observed by approximately doubling PAV in one of SCM or DIA regions.

Background/Aim. Ultrasonography is a cheap, easily available and convenient method for diagnosis. The aims of this study were: to determine the utility of ultrasonography for preoperative identification and localization of enlarged parathyroid glands (PTG) in patients with different forms of hyperparathyroidism (HPT); to examine the frequency of PTG detection in patients previously non-suspected for HPT but having symptoms relevant to the disease; to determine sensitivity and positive predictive value (PPV) of ultrasonography for identification of PTG in HPT and to compare obtained results with those obtained by scintigraphy. Methods. This investigation was designed as a retrospective–prospective study. The total number of patients undergoing ultrasonography prior to surgery was 179 and the number of those subjected to scintigraphy, mostly by the 201Tl/99mTc method, was 112. The patients (52 male, 128 female) were divided into the following four groups: group A – patients with primary (p)HPT (n = 78); group B – patients with secondary (s)HPT (n = 47); group C – patients with tertiary (t)HPT (n = 13); group D – patients with unrecognized (u)HPT, but with anamnestic data implying the disease (n = 42). High resolution ultrasonography was performed by a single experienced observer. Diagnosis of HPT was based on characteristic clinical and biochemical parameters. Final proof of HPT diagnosis was surgery followed by histopathological examination. Results. Ultrasonography detected enlarged PTG in 93.85% of total patients, whereas scintigraphy uncovered 75.89% of positive cases (p < 0.05). The total number of positive PTG detected by ultrasonography was 211 vs 225 detected by surgery (sensitivity – 95.9%; PPV – 99.4%). Histopathology confirmed the predominance of adenoma in the A and D groups in comparison with the B group of patients having PTG hyperplasia. The group C was characterized by the presence of adenomas in hyperplastic PTG. The mean size of PTG measured by ultrasonography was 17.59 ± 8.0 mm (n = 164) vs 18.36 ± 8.54 mm (n = 179) measured after surgery. Ultrasonography proved itself as an accurate technique in all HPT groups, regarding its high sensitivity (range 93.6–100%) and PPV (95.6–100%). In contrast, scintigraphy was shown to be less reliable, especially in the sPTH group (sensitivity: 51.7%; PPV: 78.4%). Conclusion. Ultrasonography is more sensitive and accurate method for pre-operative localization of PTG in comparison with 201Tl/99mTc scintigraphy. It can be also efficiently used for detection of PTG and diagnosis of HPT in patients previously not suspected for this disease.

The subject of this research is the individual respiration constant calculated based on the respiratory musculature breathing equation. This non-experimental observation conducted on a sample of students from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Belgrade (N=30). The measurement aimed at the acquisition and analysis of the average power of the surface electromyography signal (sEMG) in the protocols before and after prolonged respiratory retention. The results of the research showed that the individual coefficient of control break (Cp) represents a unique characteristic of the respiratory muscles of the subjects. In a relatively trained sample of young people of both sexes, it determined that after holding their breath, until the moment of the so-called "stroke" (progression of respiration to adapt to a stressful situation), recovery time has a linear course and is directly related to the engagement of the monitored respiratory muscles of the subjects, i.e., indirectly the capacity of the individual to assimilate O2 from the inhaled air. In the practical meaning of this research, we emphasize that individual results can be correlated with the equation of respiration of respiratory muscles, to find out and approach the original method for the presented personal respirational constant.
