Presentatie, gehouden op 21 januari 2015. Het komt vaak voor dat de verdelingsassumptions onder statistische toetsen niet of slechts gedeeltelijk opgaan. In dergelijke gevallen is het nodig hypothesen te toetsen met methoden die hiervan minder afhankelijk zijn. Er worden meerdere toetsen op normaliteit geillustreerd en er worden meerdre robuuste statistische technieken toegepast op praktijkdata.

De vraag naar effektiviteit van onderwijs is belangrijk, in een tijd van toenemende informatiedruk urgent. Daarmee is het evaluatieprobleem een methodologisch thema van de eerste orde. Daarbij hebben we te maken met een universeel-deterministische hypothese die zich echter niet in 100%-bevindingen kan uitdrukken. Daardoor zijn we aangewezen op statistische technieken. The present study is concerned mainly with certain generalizations of one-sided hypothesis testing problems, namely problems where the alternative is restricted by at least two linear inequalities. A celebrated example in the statistical literature is that of testing homogeneity against upward trend, say in the context of a one-way analysis of variance. A secondary theme of the present study is constituted by testing problems where linear inequalities restrict the null hypothesis rather than the alternative (but not both). An example arises if the model assumption of upward trend has to be tested against the alternative that at least two samples violate the assumed order of treatment means. ...
