Simple Summary: The scarcity of specific clinical and dermoscopic criteria makes solitary pink skin lesions the most challenging to diagnose. Only journal articles with full text electronically available and English translation were considered. The PICO (Population, Intervention or exposure, Comparison, Outcome) algorithm was applied to our study protocol.Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques have been utilized across various dermatological domains, including atopic dermatitis, acne/rosacea, skin infections, non‐melanoma skin cancers (NMSCs), melanoma and skincare. There is versatility of NLP in data extraction from diverse sources such as electronic health records (EHRs), social media platforms and online forums. We found extensive utilization of NLP techniques across diverse dermatological domains, showcasing its potential in extracting valuable insights from various sources and informing diagnosis, treatment optimization, patient preferences and unmet needs in dermatological research and clinical practice.While NLP shows promise in enhancing dermatological research and clinical practice, challenges such as data quality, ambiguity, lack of standardization and privacy concerns necessitate careful consideration. Simple Summary: This study investigates the characteristics of metastatic cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) to improve patient risk stratification. By comparing patients with metastatic and non-metastatic cSCC, we analyzed cSCC skin samples for histological parameters and gene expression profiles. Out of 770 genes tested, 67 were differentially expressed in metastatic cSCC. These were mainly related to immune regulation, skin integrity, angiogenesis, cell migration, and proliferation. The findings suggest that combining histological and molecular profiles can help identify features specific to metastatic cSCC, potentially enhancing patient risk assessment. Diet and exercise intervention are the first strategies to counteract obesity. An online home-based exercise program may be a feasible approach in an obese population. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of twelve weeks of online Pilates plus diet on body composition in individuals affected by obesity. Thirty-five females were randomly assigned to a home-based Pilates group (PG, n = 18) or a group without intervention (control group, CG, n = 17). All participants followed a Mediterranean diet. The PG followed a twelve-week online Pilates Matwork program (three times/week; 180 min/week), while the CG was not involved in any structured physical exercise program. Body composition and handgrip strength were evaluated at baseline (T0) and after the intervention (T1). A significant group × time interaction (p < 0.05) was found for the fat mass percentage (pFM). Specifically, the pFM was significantly lower at T1 than at T0 in the PG. Significant group × time interactions for fat-free mass (p < 0.05), appendicular skeletal muscle mass (p < 0.05), and skeletal muscle mass (p < 0.01) were found. All these variables were significantly higher at T1 than at T0 in the PG (p < 0.05). Home-based Pilates combined with diet intervention may represent an effective strategy to improve body composition in terms of fat mass reduction and muscle mass gain in adults affected by obesity. Exercise-induced coronary ischemia (lack of blood flow to the heart) is usually associated with coronary artery disease or arterial spasm, but patients with X syndrome also suffer this problem, which results in anginal pain, even though their coronary arteries are free of disease. To determine if shortening of the time of the diastolic phase (filling of heart chambers) occurs in X syndrome, as it does in coronary artery disease, heart function during exercise of 14 patients with X syndrome was compared with that of 20 healthy subjects. The results showed that diastole was shortened more in patients with X syndrome during heavy work sections of an exercise stress test than in healthy subjects. Average heart rate and blood pressure of the two groups did not differ. The study suggests that shortened diastolic time might be related to ischemia or to poor responsiveness to catecholamines (adrenaline and noradrenaline), which are released by nerves during exercise. BACKGROUND Neck aging is usually evaluated together with the lower face. To date, a skin laxity scale for the neck as an independent anatomical district is lacking. OBJECTIVE To create and validate a proposed photonumeric neck skin laxity (NSL) scale. MATERIALS AND METHODS Frontal neck photographic images of 110 subjects were collected. Each standardized neck image was evaluated twice by 3 independent doctors, 1 week apart. A 4-point photonumeric NSL scale was developed (0 5absence of skin laxity and 45severe skin laxity) and validated in terms of intraobserver and interobserver correlation and internal consistency. RESULTS The intraobserver reliability analysis of the 2 assessments performed by each observer revealed excellent correlation and consistency of the severity grading, independently of the time of evaluation (from 0.96 to 0.99, p < .01). Furthermore, the interobserver reliability analysis revealed an excellent agreement between the evaluators and an internal consistency independent of the evaluator (0.97, p < .01). CONCLUSION The newly developed NSL scale is a reliable and reproducible scoring system for the aesthetic evaluation of skin laxity of the neck. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: Diagnosis of solitary pulmonary nodule (SPN) is an important public health issue and 18F-FDG PET/CT has proven to be more effective than CT alone. Pre-test risk stratification and clinical presentation of SPN could affect the diagnostic strategy. A relevant issue is whether thoracic segmental (s)-PET/CT could be implemented in patients with SPN. This retrospective multicenter study compared the results of FDG whole-body (wb)-PET/CT to those of s-PET/CT.Methods: 18F-FDG PET/CT of 502 patients, stratified for pre-test cancer risk, were retrospectively analyzed. The thoracic part of wb-PET/CT, considered s-PET/CT, was compared to wb-PET/CT. Clinical and PET/CT variables were investigated for SPN characterization as well as for identification of patients in whom s-PET/CT could be performed. Histopathology or follow-up data were used as a reference.Results: In the study population, 36% had malignant, 35% benign, and 29% indeterminate SPN. 18F-FDG uptake indicative of thoracic and extra-thoracic lesions was detectable in 13% and 3% of the patients. All patients with extra-thoracic metastases (n = 13) had thoracic lymph node involvement and highest 18F-FDG uptake at level of SPN (negative predictive value 100%). Compared to wb-PET/CT, s-PET/CT could save about 2/3 of 18F-FDG dose, radiation exposure or scan-time, without affecting the clinical impact of PET/CT.Conclusion: Pre-test probability of malignancy can guide the diagnostic strategy of 18FDG-PET/CT in patients with SPN. In subjects with low-intermediate pretest probability s-PET/CT imaging might be planned in advance, while in those at high risk and with thoracic lymph node involvement a wb-PET/CT is necessary.
