Objective: To describe the epidemiological profile of patients undergoing mastectomy as a treatment for breast cancer in the northern region of Minas Gerais from 2017 to 2022. Method: Cross-sectional study on a secondary database, which included patients with breast cancer undergoing mastectomy, of both sexes, over 20 years of age, and excluded patients who underwent other surgical intervention modalities and deaths. Results: 309 medical records were analyzed; showed that the largest portion corresponds to female patients, totaling 98.05% female. With regard to age, a prevalence was observed among patients aged 50 to 69 years, which makes up 40.1%. Conclusion: Among the patients with breast cancer undergoing mastectomy and being treated at a public service in the city of Montes Claros-MG, there was a predominance of females, brown race, low level of education and as the main surgical approach, the radical mastectomy.
