Abstract

Montrichardia linifera (Arruda) Schott is an aquatic macrophyte of the Araceae family that is widespread in traditional medicine and little explored from a scientific point of view. Therefore, it becomes an excellent species for exploring its biotechnological potential. Therefore, the objective of this research was to carry out a scientific and technological prospection on Montrichardia linifera with a focus on anthelmintic activity. Technological prospecting was carried out by searching for patents in the following bases: EPO, USPTO, DII, INPI and WIPO. The search for scientific works was carried out in the following databases: SciELO, Bireme, Web of Science, Scopus and Science Direct from 2010 to 2022. The results for patents showed that it obtained only 3 (three) publications in the international databases DII and WIPO and in the Brazilian base INPI 2 (two) publications. In the scientific search, a total of 50 (fifty) publications were obtained for the descriptor “Montrichardia linifera”, in all analyzed bases. For the descriptor “Montrichardia linifera” and “anthelmintic” only one publication was obtained. Thus, it is clear that there are still few scientific works related to M. linifera, thus requiring more incentives. However, investments are necessary to carry out more research related to this plant in order to unveil its therapeutic activities. Montrichardia linifera (Arruda) Schott es una macrófita acuática de la familia de las Araceae, muy difundida en la medicina tradicional y poco explorada desde el punto de vista científico. Por lo tanto, se convierte en una excelente especie para explorar su potencial biotecnológico. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de esta investigación fue realizar una prospección científica y tecnológica sobre Montrichardia linifera con enfoque en la actividad antihelmíntica. La prospección tecnológica se realizó mediante la búsqueda de patentes en las siguientes bases: EPO, USPTO, DII, INPI y WIPO. La búsqueda de trabajos científicos se realizó en las siguientes bases de datos: SciELO, Bireme, Web of Science, Scopus y Science Direct de 2010 a 2022. Los resultados para patentes mostraron que obtuvo solo 3 (tres) publicaciones en las bases de datos internacionales DII y OMPI y en la base brasileña INPI 2 (dos) publicaciones. En la búsqueda científica se obtuvieron un total de 50 (cincuenta) publicaciones para el descriptor “Montrichardia linifera”, en todas las bases analizadas. Para el descriptor “Montrichardia linifera” y “anthelmintic” solo se obtuvo una publicación. Por lo tanto, es claro que todavía hay pocos trabajos científicos relacionados con M. linifera, lo que requiere más incentivos. Sin embargo, son necesarias inversiones para llevar a cabo más investigaciones relacionadas con esta planta para develar sus actividades terapéuticas. A Montrichardia linifera (Arruda) Schott é uma macrófita aquática da família Araceae bastante difundida na medicina tradicional e pouco explorada do ponto de vista científico. Diante disso torna-se uma excelente espécie para exploração do seu potencial biotecnológico. Portanto, objetivou-se com esta pesquisa realizar uma prospecção científica e tecnológica sobre a Montrichardia linifera com enfoque na atividade anti-helmíntica. A prospecção tecnológica foi realizada através da busca de patentes nas bases: EPO, USPTO, DII, INPI e WIPO. Já a busca de trabalhos científicos, foi feita nas bases de dados: SciELO, Bireme, Web of Science, Scopus e Science Direct de 2010 a 2022. Os resultados para patentes mostraram que obteve apenas 3 (três) publicação nas bases internacionais DII e WIPO e na base brasileira INPI 2 (duas) publicações. Na busca científica obteve-se o total de 50 (cinquenta) publicações para o descritor “Montrichardia linifera”, em todas as bases analisadas. Já para o descritor “Montrichardia linifera” and “anthelmintic” obteve-se apenas uma publicação. Dessa forma, percebe-se que ainda são escassos os trabalhos científicos relacionados à M. linifera, necessitando assim mais incentivos. Contudo, investimentos são necessários para a realização de mais pesquisas relacionadas a essa planta com intuito de desvendar suas atividades terapêuticas.

8. Análise das prescrições de psicofármacos de uma farmácia básica em um município do Curimataú Paraibano (Brasil).

Abstract

Introduction: Psychotropics are substances that cause changes in the central nervous system and are commonly used to treat various mental disorders that affect many people. It is known that a large part of this class of drugs has a high risk of causing dependence, and that constant and indiscriminate use can bring various health risks. Aim: To evaluate the prescription of psychotropic drugs in the Basic Pharmacy of Cuité-PB. Methodology: This research corresponds to a cross-sectional, quantitative, and descriptive study, in which 200 users of psychotropics attended at the basic pharmacy of Cuité-PB participated. Data collection took place from November 2020 to June 2021. Results: There was a prevalence of female individuals (58.5%), single (43.5%) and adults (49.5%), with low levels of education (48.0%) and low monthly income (43.5%). Unemployed users (27.0%), farmers (17.0%) and retirees (17.0%) with a maximum family of 3 members (63.0%) prevailed. The most prescribed psychoactive agents were clonazepam (21.4%), amitriptyline (13.2%) and diazepam (12.5%), purchased with prescriptions obtained from the public health network. Generally, the time of use was from 1 to 5 years (43.5%). As for potential drug interactions, the presence of 33 interactions was detected, the most frequent being the association between diazepam and haloperidol, found in 8 prescriptions and classified as moderate. Of the evaluated prescriptions, 3 had non-compliance mainly related to dosage. Conclusion: There is a considerable use of psychotropic drugs, requiring more adequate monitoring by health professionals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
