In order to investigate irradiation damage of zirconolite under the impacts of alpha particles and Kr+ ions, SR1M code is used to simulate the stopping power, energy loss, average ion projected range, vacancies distribution and displacement per atom (dpa) at critical dose for amorphisation in the energy range from 100 to 3 000 keV. The results show that when the alpha particle incident, electronic stopping power and ionization energy loss of incident ion are the major, the incident ion range is from 437 to 6 960 nm, and the total number of vacancies are from 1 2 to 20. When the Kr+ ion incident, with the increase of the energy the nuclear stopping power decreases, and the electronic stopping power increased gradually. The energy is lossed by ionization energy loss of incident ion, ionization energy loss of recoil ion, and phonon energy loss of recoil ion. The incident ion range is from 39 to 1 130 nm, and the total number of vacancy is from 138 to 1 097. At critical amorphous dose, with the increase of incident ion energy, damage zone depth increases in the substrate. In the depth from 0 to 460 nm, 1 000 keV Kr+ ions produce a greater number of dpa than 1 500 keV Kr+ ions, and in the depth from 470 to 1 000 nm, 1 500 keV Kr+ ions produce a greater number of dpa than 1 000 keV Kr+ ions. Pyrochlore GdZrO are considered as an excellent candidate for treatment of radioactive waste forms, because of its superior physical, chemical and anti-irradiation properties. To investigate the phase and structure of pyrochlore GdZrO used for immobilizing Pu (III), trivalent europium was used as the simulacrum for plutonium with trivalence. The compounds of stoichiometry GdEuZrO (0.0 ⩽ x ⩽ 2.0) synthesized by high temperature solid state reaction method, were analyzed with the help of XRD and Rietveld structural refinement method. The results indicated that the phases of compounds continuously kept the phase of pyrochlore under our experimental condition. The linear relation between a and x was discovered in the system of GdEuZrO (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 2.0) at 1 773 K, which accorded with a = 10.538 41 + 0.008 95 x, V = 1 170.373 32 + 2.985 97 x. Abstract: Monodispersed single-domain nickel nanospheres have been successfully prepared by the microwave-assisted (MW) polyol method. TEM and AFM analysis reveal that the nickel nanospheres have a size distribution in the 100–180nm range. Highly globular nanostructures of NicoreNiOshell are achieved by oxidizing the nickel nanospheres in a flow of H2O2 and the structure is studied by means of TEM, XPS, and EDAX. The single-domain magnetic structure is confirmed by MFM measurements and the ferromagnetic properties are demonstrated by VSM and SQUID studies. Surprisingly, no shift in the magnetization loop is observed despite the ferromagnet/antiferromagnet interface. This is attributed to the relatively large volume of our nanoparticles.
