Abstract Due to the ability to utilize the strength of the surrounding rock to enhance bearing capacity, tunnel-type anchorages have been consistently utilized in suspension bridges. Nevertheless, a close interaction occurs between the tunnel and the tunnel-type anchor when a highway tunnel is connected to a suspension bridge. This study employed numerical simulation and theoretical analysis based on the G317 Line Huangjiayuan tunnel and Zipingpu Bridge tunnel-type anchorage project, focusing on this specific type of adjacent engineering. Firstly, the discriminant degree of adjacent influence suitable for the interaction between the tunnel-type anchorage and the tunnel structure is established. The calculation conditions are distinguished by the influencing factors determined in the discriminant. The interaction law between tunnel-type anchorage and pre-built tunnel structure is further obtained. Using the method of curve regression, based on the criterion of proximity influence degree, the partition of mutual influence degree between the tunnel-type anchorage and the tunnel structure is obtained. At the same time, it is concluded that under the original design condition, the displacement degree of the tunnel structure will be greatly affected, and the tunnel structure is located in the strong influence area. According to the partition result, under the benchmark engineering geological condition, it is suggested that the angle of intersection between tunnel anchorage and tunnel structure should be increased to 3.3° and the anchor body inclination should be increased to 44°.

[Objective] Soil respiration occupies an important proportion in the annual total soil respiration during freeze-thaw process. The effects of water content, freezing temperature and freeze-thaw cycles on soil carbon mineralization dynamics during soil freeze-thaw process were studied. [Methods] The study focuses on chernozem soil from the Nenjiang County Heshan Farm Jiusan Soil and Water Experimental Station in Heilongjiang Province, China was used as the research object to carry out an indoor freeze-thaw degree simulation test. Seven freeze-thaw cycles were carried out, and three soil moisture content were set 100% field water holding capacity (100% WHC), 60% field water holding capacity (60% WHC), and 30% field water holding capacity (30% WHC). Additionally, three environmental temperatures were used a constant 10 °C (control), -5 °C (mild freezing) and -15 °C (severe freezing). [Results] The number of freeze-thaw cycles, moisture content and freezing temperature had significant effects on CO2 emissions and the impact degrees were -0.63, 0.21 and 0.14, respectively. The thawing process notably increased soil carbon mineralization. The soil carbon mineralization of 60% WHC in the first three freeze-thaw cycles increased 33.0% and 35.2%, respectively, compared with 100% WHC and 30% WHC in the last 4 freeze-thaw cycles. In the case of severe freezing, the carbon mineralization of 100% WHC soil in the first 2 freeze-thaw cycles increased by 25.2% and 68.0% respectively, compared with 60% WHC and 30% WHC soil in the last 5 freeze-thaw cycles. [Conclusion] The number of freeze-thaw cycles had the greatest effect on soil CO2 emission, followed by moisture content, and the least freezing temperature. The freeze-thaw effect increased the cumulative CO2 emissions of soil with low water content. The cumulative CO2 emission of soil with high water content was reduced. For soils with medium moisture content, mild freezing increased CO2 cumulative emissions, while severe freezing decreased them. The first-order kinetic equation fitted the CO2 emissions from freeze-thaw soil well (R2 > 0.997), both moisture content and freezing temperature significantly influenced the potential for organic carbon mineralization (C0 value).

Abstract Background Continuous monocropping obstacles are common in plants, especially medicinal plants, resulting in disease outbreaks and productivity reductions. Foliar disease, mainly caused by Fusarium oxysporum, results in a severe decrease in the yield of Pseudostellaria heterophylla annually. Determining an effective biomethod to alleviate this disease is urgently needed to improve its productivity and quality. Results This study screened thirty-two keystone bacterial genera induced by pathogens in P. heterophylla rhizosphere soil under continuous monocropping conditions. Pseudomonas, Chryseobacterium, and Flavobacterium, referred to as the beneficial microbiota, were significantly attracted by pathogen infection. The P. palleroniana strain B-BH16-1 can directly inhibit the growth and spore formation of seven primary pathogens of P. heterophylla foliar disease by disrupting fusaric acid production via the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In addition, strain B-BH16-1 enhances the disease resistance of P. heterophylla by obliterating the pathogen and assembling beneficial microbiota. Conclusion Pathogen-induced Pseudomonas reshaped phyllosphere microbial communities via direct antagonism of pathogens and indirect disruption of the pathogen virulence factor biosynthesis to enhance disease suppression and improve yields. These results show that inhibiting pathogen virulence biosynthesis to reshape the plant microbial community using disease-induing probiotics will be an innovative strategy for managing plant disease, especially under continuous monoculture conditions.

Background: This study aims to analyze the safety and clinical efficacy of using double posterolateral coaxial portals for endoscopic treatment of posterior ankle impingement syndrome (PAIS), a procedure that has gained popularity in recent times. Methods: Six fresh foot samples were randomly selected to measure the distances of two posterolateral portals to the sural nerve in different positions (plantar flexion 10°, dorsiflexion 30°, and plantar flexion 30°) for safety evaluation. A prospective analysis was conducted on the clinical efficacy of the operative approach for endoscopic management of posterior ankle impingement syndrome, including evaluation of effectiveness and complications. Results: In this study, the mean distances of the first and second portals to the sural nerve were measured in different ankle positions. The distances were found to be 2.26 ± 0.22 cm and 1.59 ± 0.12 cm in the plantar flexion 10° position, 2.21 ± 0.21 cm and 1.55 ± 0.12 cm in the dorsiflexion 30° position, and 2.46 ± 0.29 cm and 1.73 ± 0.19 cm in the plantar flexion 30° position, demonstrating a significant safety margin from the nerve. A total of 38 patients underwent endoscopic treatment for posterior ankle impingement syndrome using double posterolateral coaxial portals between January 2012 and December 2017. This surgical approach provided access to the subtalar joint and posterior ankle region. The patients were followed up for an average of 38.2 months (24–72 months), with a satisfaction rate of 94.7%. There were no reported complications, and significant improvements were observed in both visual analogue scale (VAS) and The American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society Score (AOFAS) scores postoperatively. Abstract Objective To investigate whether intrauterine chilled saline can reduce endometrial impairment during US-guided percutaneous microwave ablation (PMWA) of adenomyosis. Methods An open-label, randomized trial was conducted with sixty symptomatic adenomyosis patients who were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive PMWA treatment assisted by intrauterine saline instillation (study group) or traditional PMWA treatment alone (control group). The primary endpoint was endometrial perfusion impairment grade on post-ablation contrast-enhanced MRI. The secondary endpoints were endometrial dehydration grade, ablation rate, and intra-ablation discomfort. Results The baseline characteristics of the two groups were similar. AIM: To investigate ocular surface disorders and tear function changes in patients with acne vulgaris and explore the potential relationship between acne vulgaris and dry eye. METHODS: This cross-sectional study included right eyes of 53 patients with acne vulgaris and 54 healthy controls. The participants completed the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) questionnaire. The following ocular surface-related parameters were measured: tear meniscus height (TMH), noninvasive tear breakup time (NIBUT), Schirmer I test (SIT), lipid layer thickness (LLT) score of the tear film, meibum score, meibomian gland orifice obstruction score, the ratio of meibomian gland loss, conjunctival hyperemia score, and corneal fluorescein staining (CFS) score. RESULTS: The stability of the tear film decreased in acne vulgaris patients. In the acne group, the TMH and NIBUT were lower, whereas the OSDI, meibum score, meibomian gland orifice obstruction score, ratio of meibomian gland loss, and conjunctival hyperemia score were higher compared with controls (P0.05). In two dry eye groups, the TMH, NIBUT, and LLT score were lower in the acne with dry eye (acne-DE) group, and the meibum score, meibomian gland orifice obstruction score, ratio of meibomian gland loss and conjunctival hyperemia score in the acne-DE group were higher (P0.05). CONCLUSION: Patients with moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris are more likely to experience dry eye than those without acne vulgaris. Reduced tear film stability and meibomian gland structure dysfunction are more pronounced in patients with moderate-to-severe acne and dry eye.

3D printed concrete (3DPC) is an essential technology for achieving efficient, precise, and sustainable construction. Nevertheless, due to limitations in materials and processes, 3DPC is prone to insufficient green strength and weakness in the interlayer area, which can result in print collapse and diminish its interlayer adhesion strength. Therefore, understanding green strength and interlayer adhesion strength of 3DPC is crucial for ensuring its structural safety. Superabsorbent polymer (SAP) serves as a novel type of concrete admixture, demonstrating the potential to promote green strength development and augment interlayer adhesion properties by facilitating the hydration process through water absorption and release. This study presents the first investigation into the effects of two commercially available SAPs on green strength and interlayer adhesion of 3D printed concrete. The role of SAP in improving interlayer adhesion performance in 3DPC is further elucidated through X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicate that, compared to the control group, in the absence of added compensated water to SA1, the compressive strength at 15 min and splitting tensile strength of the printed specimen at 28 d increased by 282 % and 24.9 %, respectively, whereas SA2 demonstrates a relatively weaker enhancement effect. This study demonstrates that SAP promotes structural accumulation during the 3DPC printing stage, thereby presenting itself as a favorable material choice for applications involving 3DPC.

Purpose This study evaluated the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in the ultrasound-guided microwave ablation (MWA) treatment of symptomatic focal uterine adenomyosis. Methods This retrospective study was conducted between March 2020 and January 2023, enrolling 52 patients with symptomatic focal uterine adenomyosis who had undergone MWA. All patients were examined with CEUS before and after MWA. The non-perfused volume (NPV) was compared between CEUS and dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) following ablation. Therapeutic efficacy and safety were evaluated at 3-, 6-, and 12-month follow-ups. Additionally, this study explored the correlations between pre-treatment CEUS features and a volume reduction ratio indicating sufficient ablation, defined as 50% or more at the 3-month follow-up. Results No significant differences in NPV were noted between CEUS and DCE-MRI immediately after MWA and during follow-up (all P>0.05). At the 3-month follow-up, the median VRRs for the uterus and adenomyosis were 33.2% and 63.9%, respectively. Sufficient ablation was achieved in 69.2% (36/52) of adenomyosis cases, while partial ablation was observed in the remaining 30.8% (16/52). The identification of non-enhancing areas on pre-treatment CEUS was associated with sufficient ablation (P=0.016). The densification of fused glass during processing has a significant impact on the performance and application of fused glass components. However, the precise atomic mechanisms underlying densification remain elusive. In this study, we explore the atomic mechanisms responsible for densification in fused glass during single particle scratching, with a focus on the scratching depths and environmental humidity. We employ reactive force field molecular dynamics (ReaxFF MD) simulations for our investigation. We subjected models to scratching under various humidity conditions using a spherical virtual indenter with a 20 Å radius. The scratching depths were set at 10 Å and 15 Å, respectively, with a constant scraping speed of 40 m/s. Our findings indicate that water molecules impede lateral atom movement on the fused glass surface while enhancing vertical flow. Furthermore, water molecules facilitate the volume recovery of fused glass following scratching. The transfer of hydrogen (H) atoms within the fused glass, facilitated by Si–O–H⋯O–Si structures, plays a crucial role in promoting volume recovery. The ultimate density distribution of fused glass results from a combination of atomic displacement during scratching and subsequent volume recovery. This study enhances our atomic-level understanding of densification generation in fused glass.

Background: In this study, we investigated clinical prediction factors of nonchronic total occlusion lesion (NCTOL) progression in patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesions. Methods: In total, 450 patients with unstable angina (mean age = 57.1 ± 9.2 years) who underwent PCI for CTO lesions between January 2016 and December 2018 at Beijing Anzhen Hospital were enrolled in this study. A clinical and angiographic follow-up examination was performed 12 months postoperatively. The patients were divided into NCTOL progression (145 cases) and control (305 cases) groups based on the outcome of the 12-month angiographic follow-up. The clinical and angiographic features of the participants were analyzed. Abstract Satellite infrared detectors cannot penetrate clouds, especially precipitating clouds. Improving precipitation estimation accuracy based on infrared brightness temperature has always been important but challenging. In this paper, based on the infrared brightness temperature of the Advanced Geosynchronous Radiation Imager (AGRI) onboard China's Feng‐Yun 4A satellite, we develop and evaluate a new precipitation estimation method. First, using static data, physical characteristics of clouds, cloud image texture features, temporal motion features, and AGRI infrared channel brightness temperature, we construct features for a machine learning model. Then, we develop precipitation estimation methods. Precipitation is estimated in two steps: classification and regression. We employ a random forest classification model to identify whether there is precipitation in a given field of view. If there is precipitation, a multi‐model ensemble regression learning method is used to estimate the areas with this precipitation. The ensemble learning method uses convex optimization to integrate prediction results based on the optimization of hyperparameters of five basic models (i.e., those of random forest, XGBoost, LightGBM, decision tree, and extra tree models). Furthermore, two regression stacking ensemble models—the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (herein referred to as Stacking1‐LASSO) and K‐nearest neighbor (herein referred to as Stacking2‐KNN)—are used to predict the results of the aforementioned basic models. The results of basic models are used as inputs of these two stacking models. Finally, based on the Integrated Multi‐satellitE Retrievals for GPM (IMERG) precipitation product and rain gauge precipitation data, we conduct precipitation estimation experiments and evaluate our methods. The results show that ensemble learning models have greater accuracy in estimating precipitation than the basic models. When using IMERG precipitation as the target precipitation, ensemble learning models can estimate the central area of heavy precipitation during typhoons Ampil and Maria. The ensemble learning estimation effect is better than that of Stacking2‐KNN. Moreover, when rain gauge data is used as the target precipitation, ensemble learning can also estimate the center of heavy precipitation and with good consistency with recorded satellite brightness temperature data.
