In this paper, we study steady 2D periodic blood flow propagating along blood vessels with free boundary conditions. In particular, we focus on the dynamic behavior of flows with harmonic vorticity and time dependent body force. An equivalent formulation with fix boundary is developed by utilizing flow force functions. The local bifurcation result is obtained by Crandall-Rabinowitz theorem. The existence of a local $C^1$-curve of small-amplitude solution is strictly proved.

The constant vorticity {\bf two-layer water wave} in the $\beta$-plane approximation with centripetal forces is investigated in this paper. Different from the works (Chu and Yang\cite[JDE, 2020]{chu} and Chu and Yang \cite[JDE, 2021]{chu2}) on the singe-layer wave flows, we consider the two-layer water wave model containing a free surface and an interface. The interface separates two layers with different features such as velocity field, pressure and vorticity. We prove that if the change in pressure in the $y$-axis direction is bounded, then the pressure is a function only related to depth and the surfaces of the water flows. And the inner wave will not affect the pressure function, if the water flow densities in each layer are equal. Furthermore, the explicit expressions of the velocity, pressure are given for the two-layer water flows. It is interesting that our method and results are also valid for the multi-layer water waves. Let the number of layers of water waves $n$ tend to infinity, we prove that the squence of pressure in the lowest layer $\{P_1^n(x,y,z,t)\}_{n\geq1}$ is uniformly convergent, if the density of each layer is bounded and the each surface of wave flows is uniformly convergent.

In this paper, we derive the algorithm for calculating the normal form of the double Hopf bifurcation that appears in a memory-based diffusion system via taking memory-based diffusion coefficient and the memory delay as the perturbation parameters. Using the obtained theoretical results, we study the dynamical classification near the double Hopf bifurcation point in a predator-prey system with Holling type II functional response. We show the existence of different kinds of stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions, the transition from one kind to the other as well as the coexistence of two types of periodic solutions with different spatial profiles by varying the memory-based diffusion coefficient and the memory delay.

The memory-based diffusion systems have wide applications in practice. Hopf bifurcations are observed from such systems. To meet the demand for computing the normal forms of the Hopf bifurcations of such systems, we develop an effective new algorithm where the memory delay is treated as the perturbation parameter. To illustrate the effectiveness of the algorithm, we consider a diffusive predator-prey system with memory-based diffusion and Holling type-II functional response. By employing this newly developed procedure, we investigate the direction and stability of the delay-induced mode-1 and mode-2 Hopf bifurcations. Numerical simulations confirm our theoretical findings, that is the existence of stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions with mode-1 and mode-2 spatial patterns, and the transition from the unstable mode-2 spatially inhomogeneous periodic solution to the stable mode-1 spatially inhomogeneous periodic solution.

Some quantities in the reaction-diffusion models from cellular biology or ecology depend on the spatial average of density functions instead of local density functions. We show that such nonlocal spatial average can induce instability of constant steady state, which is different from classical Turing instability. For a general scalar equation with spatial average, the occurrence of the steady state bifurcation is rigorously proved, and the formula to determine the bifurcation direction and the stability of the bifurcating steady state is given. For the two-species model, spatially non-homogeneous time-periodic orbits could arise due to spatially non-homogeneous Hopf bifurcation from the constant equilibrium. Examples from a nonlocal cooperative Lotka-Volterra model and a nonlocal Rosenzweig-MacArthur predator-prey model are used to demonstrate the bifurcation of spatially non-homogeneous patterns., Comment: 43 pages, 10 figures
