14. Wideband Lv's Distribution: A Signal Processing Tool for Hyperbolic Frequency-Modulated Signal Analysis

Abstract

Linear frequency-modulated (LFM) and hyperbolic frequency-modulated (HFM) signals are employed in many areas, especially in the echolocating systems. To solve the problem of signal detection and estimation, various integral transforms have been designed for the LFM signal, such as fractional Fourier transform, Lv's distribution (LVD), and so on. However, no transform has directly been used for the HFM signal so far. LVD is a good option for the detection and estimation of the LFM signal, but not for that of the HFM signal, because of model mismatching. Inspired by LVD, wideband LVD (WLVD) is proposed, capable of transforming the HFM signal into 2-D peaks and obtaining the parameters of each component according to the peak position in the “delay-scale” domain. This above ability is accomplished in two steps. First, a time scaling operation is performed on the wideband ambiguity function of the HFM signal to correct the spectral peak migration, and then, the inverse Fourier transform is calculated along the corrected “ridge.” As a signal analysis tool, WLVD exhibits the same advantage as LVD, i.e., the cross terms of the multicomponent signal have little effect, despite the quadratic function of the signal spectrum being dealt with. The experimental results for the simulated and real signals demonstrate the significant potential of WLVD due to the widespread application of HFM signals across radar, sonar, and even some echolocating mammals.

21. Highly Flexible Graphene‐Film‐Based Rectenna for Wireless Energy Harvesting.

Abstract

Herein, we report the design, fabrication, and performance of two wireless energy harvesting devices based on highly flexible graphene macroscopic films (FGMFs). We first demonstrate that benefiting from the high conductivity of up to 1 × 106 S m−1 and good resistive stability of FGMFs even under extensive bending, the FGMFs‐based rectifying circuit (GRC) exhibits good flexibility and RF‐to‐DC efficiency of 53% at 2.1 GHz. Moreover, we further expand the application of FGMFs to a flexible wideband monopole rectenna and a 2.45 GHz wearable rectenna for harvesting wireless energy. The wideband rectenna at various bending conditions produces a maximum conversion efficiency of 52%, 46%, and 44% at the 5th Generation (5G) 2.1 GHz, Industrial Long‐Term Evolution (LTE) 2.3 GHz, and Scientific Medical (ISM) 2.45 GHz, respectively. A 2.45 GHz GRC is optimized and integrated with an AMC‐backed wearable antenna. The proposed 2.45 GHz wearable rectenna shows a maximum conversion efficiency of 55.7%. All the results indicate that the highly flexible graphene‐film‐based rectennas have great potential as a wireless power supplier for smart Internet of Things (IoT) applications. 34. Flexible and Compact Tri-Band Graphene Antenna for Conformal Wi-Fi/WiMAX/5G Applications

Abstract

A flexible and compact tri-band antenna based on highly conductive graphene assembled film (GAF) is proposed. The antenna has a small size of $42\times 30.5\times 1.025$ mm3, including three complementary split-ring resonators (CSRR) to realize triple band-notched characteristics. The GAF antenna effectively offers three operating bands of 2.28-2.56 GHz, 3.28-3.85 GHz, and 5.06-7.30 GHz, satisfying the Wi-Fi 7 band at 2.45/5.2/5.8/6 GHz, WiMAX band at 3.5/5.5 GHz, and 5G sub-6 NR n78 band, with the peak realized gains of 1.66/1.97/3.58 dBi. The GAF antenna performance is relatively stable with regard to the operating band and radiation pattern under bending condition. To demonstrate the practical application, the GAF antenna is installed on a commercially available router for data rate experiments. The results indicate that this brief expands the RF applications of carbon-based materials, and endows Wi-Fi antennas with more operating frequency bands, more compact configuration, lighter weight, better mechanical stability, and conformal ability, which is superior for integration in Wi-Fi/WiMAX/5G communication and conformed on various devices.

Abstract

Millimeter wave antennas have the advantage of high directivity, miniaturization, high resolution and data transfer speed, wide bandwidth, and lower latency. In this work, a millimeter wave planar array antenna (PAA) with the characteristics of wideband and low sidelobes, which consists of eight identical linear array antenna (LAA) based on Ti3C2 MXene, is designed and fabricated. It is the first time that MXene antennas are proposed for a 5G millimeter wave antenna application. MXene PAA has a high realized gain of 22.22 dBi and a −10 dB impedance bandwidth of measurement covering the range from 24 GHz to 28 GHz, including the 5G FR2—n258 frequency band. With Chebyshev current distribution, the MXene PAA has a half-power beam width of 10.2° and 10.8° in the xoz-plane and yoz-plane radiation patterns with the sidelobes levels below −20 dB, respectively.
